Hi, since a few weeks i had an issue with my Flex 140D Notebook - the touchscreen doesn't work. What i've done was to uninstall the 3 USB-Devices below the HID-Section and the Touchscreen itself and rebooted the System. I did also an "Reset", see the link below, for the Mainboard but it doesn't fix the problem. Can someone give me a hint ? I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

The touchscreen on my ideapad flex 14 laptop is not working. I've tried uninstalling the driver in device manager and then restarting my computer. I've also checked that all drivers are up to date. I'm on wondows 10 and I think it has worked since the upgrade (though I'm not 100% sure). Any ideas?

Welcome to the Forums Bevvy!

Press Windows+X.
- Select Device Manager.
- Find the Touchscreen driver under Mice and Other Pointing Devices>USB Touchscreen Controller(A111).  You're going to uninstall this and check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device".  Don't worry, it won't blow up your computer.
- Restart your computer.
- Re-open the Device Manager, and confirm that the Touchscreen is now listed under Human Interface Devices.

Installed Windows 10 on it, and it didn't fix it, reset to Windows 8, no fix, upgraded to 8.1 and still no fix, all updates and drivers installed, tried the device manager thing, yet still no touchscreen response. It doesn't even show up in device manager. Also, now the display, doesn't cover the whole screen, there are black bars all around the edges.

Hi everyone, The touchscreen of my idepad flex 14 stopped to work suddenly. I have upgraded to Windows 10 recently and  didn't have any problem but now the defect came up. I have checked the device manager and the HID compliant touch screen driver is there (Version from 2006) and seems to be ok. I have tried to upgrade the driver but Windows says that is the latest version. Is there a driver from Lenovo for the touchscreen device? I really would appreciate any help. Thanks,Mike

I've had my Lenovo ideapad Flex 15 for just over a year now, so I guess this is the time at which things start going kerplooey. Today my touchscreen started going haywire, clicking rapidly and repeatedly in one random spot in the top left corner of my screen, so fast I couldn't use my touchpad to get the cursor away from the spot. After closing and reopening the computer, the problem stopped momentarily but then came back. I rebooted and when Windows restarted I received a pop up that "Windows Mouse and Keyboard Center has stopped working." The problem returned shortly after, and now my touchscreen has stopped working altogether. Can anyone help me?

A:Ideapad Flex 15 touchscreen woes

Update: The problem is now intermittently returning. If I close my laptop and reopen it, it seems to disable the touchscreen for a period of time so that I'm able to actually use my computer for a bit before it starts feverishly attacking that one area of the screen. All instructions I've found online to disable the touchscreen haven't worked... I'd love to have it functioning again though. Help?

I  have an Ideapad Flex 15.

Since I upgraded yesterday to Windows 10, I have lost the touchscreen ability I had up to that point on Windows 8.1. On search for pen and touch, I was given this message on a system information page: "No pen or touch input is available for this display." I have looked in device manager under Human Interface Devices. Expanding the view to show hidden devices, I see "HID compliant touch screen." When I click to get device status, this is the message:

"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

How do I do that? I note a similar problem in Windows 8.1 on this posting:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-hardware/touchscreen-not-working/c48cda2...

Does anyone have any idea how to reconnect the hardware device -- or at least to solve this problem? Thanks!

Alright so my fan noise problems was a little different from the last post, so when I first got the laptop I had Zero issues with fan noise, now after about one month of usage and a few updates what felt like all of a sudden, the fan would stay on constantly, and my estimated battery life dropped to 3.5 hrs max. It seemed to be after the bios update, I'm currently doing a factory restore, if it fails where do I move from here?

Hello All, I've had my Levovo Ideapad for 1.5 years, no problems until recently. Over the past few months when I turn the computer on all I see is a black screen it doesn't go to the Lenovo screen. Sometimes it stays on the black screen for a while and then boots up normally and works fine, sometimes it doesn't go past the black screen. Now the computer doesn't boot past the black screen at all anymore. I've tried the option of taking the battery out and pressing the power button for 30 seconds, that didn't seem to make any difference. Anyone else face this issue and able to fix it somehow? My warranty is over at this point... Thanks

Dear Experts, I was noticing this problem just after my warranty is expired.  My Lenovo Ideapad flex 15 shuts down exactly in every 30 minutes. Here are some clues.Shutdown even when it is in bios, it is not a driver problem. Reset the bios to default but no outcome.Did comprehensive hardware test using Lenovo Solution Center but not showing any issue. All hardware temperature is normal. There was some dust in CPU fan, causing problem to run it smoothly. Removed the dust, now it is running smoothly. But still, I am having this problem.Removed the BIOS battery for the whole night, no outcome. If I put the laptop in sleep(before 30 min) and wake up immediately, I don't see this problem. I suspect this is some hardware or bios firmware issue (i.e probably some internal timer is shutting down laptop and putting the laptop into sleep may reinitialize the timer). Any idea how to resolve this problem? As another try, I want to flash the bios firmware, but I can't find any link in lenovo support center to get bios firmware for Lenovo Ideapad Flex 15.  Any help is highly appreciated. My BIOS version: 8ACN34WW Thanks/Babu

Laptop is running on Windows 10. Yesterday I updated my AMD graphics driver using the update tool from AMD. After all the necessary files were downloaded and installed, I was prompted to restart and I did. Upon restart, the laptop would not boot past the Lenovo screen. The white circles that rotate always freeze and it just stays on the Lenovo screen upon every attempt to boot. I can't enter safe mode or the bios options, what can I do to fix this?  P.S. A few months ago I began having an issue with the sleep mode. When trying to enter sleep mode, the laptop would just shut down unexpectedly and almost instantly. I'm not sure what caused this issue, but I've just been avoiding it by shutting down instead of sleeping. Not sure if this has anything to do with it, or if the restart was interrupted by an unexpected shutdown.

I recently purchased this laptop and did not spend any time playing on the keyboard prior to the purchase.  I am now regretting this purchase as I cannot understand nor adapt to the right shift key not being in the standard location. Why would Lenovo design a keyboard that would not be conducive to touch typing? I cannot seem to change my 45 years of touch typing experience to accomadate this major change.  It makes no sense.  Is anyone else having this issue and what if anything can be done about it?

Hi everyone. I recently purchased a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 2 14 for school and general purposes. In general I really like it, but I have noticed that the battery life is not like the 9h (or was it 6h?) that were advertised. I am getting around 2,5-3,5h of battery life, while I'm doing some light tasks like surfing the web. I should also note that this is with power saving mode on. Have I gotten a bad battery or is this basically what I can expect with this product?  You can see the specs in this link: http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?e=3019464

Hi. I have a problem with the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 15D. I was using it normally one day, using Google Chrome, when it suddenly stopped responding. The whole PC stopped responding (although I could still use the mouse normally) and I had to manually shut it off. I've had my ideapad (flex 15 20309) for about 2 years and was working fine. Around 5 months ago I noticed my touchscreen wouldn't work any more. Sometimes after a reboot it would seem to come back to life but now I can't figure out what is going on. I seem to have Microsoft Windows 10 home as the operating system. I can't find any setting or keystroke or anything that can get my touchscreen back to life. Help! My touchpad (mousepad) works fine and I'm using a USB mouse as well because I don't like using the mousepad. The only thing I think has changed in the last 5 or 6 months was probably windows 10 and the regular updates that are done via windows 10.

Right, you mentioned it turned blue with a sad face, that is a Blue Screen of Death (or proper term is Kernel bugcheck) which indicates something has gone wrong.

I have been trying to register my new Lenovo Ideapad Flex 4-1470 on the Lenovo website for nearly a wekk now.  I am stuck at the part where it asks for you to enter the Product KEY.  Now, I was under the notion that product KEYS were mainly only used for softwares.  I first thought maybe it meant the product number.  I have searched in evry forum, blog, post, search site, Lenovo app, paperwork, you name it, and can not find either of these for this laptop.  I then used the support chat on Lenovo's website and asked a CSR who proceeded to tell me that it is in fact a product "KEY' I need and that it is given to the buyer at time of purchase.  He also told me that when purchasing from the Lenovo website that it is emailed to you.  Unfortuantly, I did not purchase it from there, but at Best Buy instead.  But the CSR in  the Support Chat assured me that this "Product KEY" is required to register the laptop and it is given at time of purchase.  Can anyone help me here - is it printed on the receipt?  Maybe on the one (1) measly little folded paper that came with the laptop in the box (which I have checked about 30 times and there is nothing very useful at all on this scrawny paper) ?  And, is it me, or has Lenovo's product support gone straight down the crapper?  Seriously, no TANGIBLE product information included in the box???  And the Lenovo Apps are a joke, and bad ones at that (crickets chirpping in the back...
