Acer eAudio Manager on Acer Aspire 5920G with Windows 7

Q: Acer eAudio Manager on Acer Aspire 5920G with Windows 7

Hey There

First of all: I'm a studend, so I can't speek good english, cause I live in Switzerland (plz write in German if you can )

So my Problem:

I've found a Acer Aspire 5920G with Windows Vista. This was so slow and annoying . So I deleded the whole OS and installed Win 7 Home Premium x64. Now I'm searching some drivers for my Notebook. My biggest Problem is the sound driver.
In Vista, there was a tool called "Acer eAudio Manager". I want to install it, because you can switch the equalizer to movie, music and game (and it sounds awesome with the bassbooster=D). I've downloaded the driver from the website and there was a error:

"This software can only be installed in authorized machine"

what can I do to install this tool? Some other tools, like acer power management or acer enet management, works great.

I thought I ask in this forum, because there were some good topics about the mouspad and synaptic of the 5920G (wich helped me=D)

I hope you understand my question and can help me

Greetings
LikeLinux
(And yes, I'm a real Linux fan^^ I've used always Ubuntu. This is the first time that I use Windows )

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi guys

I'm hoping you can help me with a annoying problem....

About 4 years ago i bought this Acer Aspire 5920g with Vista as the OS..
Back then i didn't like it, so i switched to XP.. Then Win7 came and i got that on board.

Now, i'm a sucker for reinstalling the OS, when i feel my comp is getting slower and always with a good result, when installing the drivers... Until now...

Now, when i try to install my gfx driver (It's an nVidia Geforce 8600GT) it goes bananas and ends up in a 256 color 640x480 resolution.....

I've tried and tried and asked friends, but no one can help me, so i'm trying you guys now......

WTF to do? :S

Thanks in advance

So here is my problem with Acer Aspire 5920G: (also I don't understand much about computers, bear with me)

One night I turn off my laptop like normaly, the next morning I turn it on for a surprise. The screen remained pitch black even though I could clearly hear windows boot up, along with other programs like skype popping up. Pressed a few random keys and thought I should restart. Same thing, no reaction from the screen what so ever, but I can still clearly hear windows starting up.

So I browse the internet and here's what I've tried:

- I removed the battery, held the power button for a while, re-inserted the battery, turn it back on >No help
- I switch my RAM cards with one another > Doesn't work
- Turn it on and point a flashlight at the screen to check the backlight, nada
- I check if the magnet for detecting if the screen is up or down is working, and it is, when I lower my screen it goes to hybernate mode, boots up if I click something
- I plugged in an external monitor (new and functional) and press the switch screen button combo, but its not reacting, the external monitor stays black too

It doesn't flicker or anything, its giving off no signs of life, but I'm puzzled because if the screen died it should clearly work on an external monitor, which it doesn't.

Has anyone encountered a problem like this? Any ideas on how I might fix it myself, and even if I can I'm still wondering about what it might be befo... Read more

Hello to All!

I stumbled upon this thread as I was looking for help after failing to install Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit from USB stick.
I'll describe below steps I took and how I got to the current situation:

1. I was using Win Vista 32 bit on the Acer Aspire 5920G-302G16Mi with the following specification:Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 @ 2.0 GHz; Cache 4 MB; Bus Speed 800 MHz
Chipset: Manufacturer Intel; Chipset Model PM965 Express
Storage: 160 GB, serial ATA, 5400 RPM
Graphics: GF 8600 MGT up to 1024 MG (256 internal memory)
RAM: originally 2 x 1 GHz, changed to 1 x 2 GHz and 1 x 1 GHz
2. I decided to install OS from the beginning and chose Win 8. Iso version was found on the web, claimed as an official and untouched one, and then transferred to stick thanks to MS tool.
3. During the 1st try I was able to see every partition. I deleted the system one (I still have logical one with some data) and created new one where Win 8 was supposed to be installed. Unfortunately error while copying data occurred. Following attempts with less and / or different RAM chips failed so I decided to transfer iso image to USB stick using other computer.
4. Using newly created bootable stick computer couldn't find any HDD drive (despite the fact that while using 'browse' option everything was visible).
5. Many tries of different SATA drivers found on the web (including Intel and other sites) gave nothing. On the Acer support site (Acer | Download) I also didn't find suitable drivers as I couldn't f... Read more

Hello,
This is perhaps the most mysterious problem that has happened to
my laptop.

Problem: Once pressing the start button, it doesn't start up.
The cpu light display doesn't respond, neither does the screen (which is not even "on", but black,) neither does the keyboard, caps lock etc. But, the lights on the wifi + bluetooth and the light around the start button is on.

I've tried the whole "remove batter + power, hold the start button for 60sec, put back the batter" and nothing.

Some Background:
I recall this happening 3 other times. Each time having to do with my external harddrive. I remember the exact same problem occuring from some interference with the harddrive, and then my laptop miracolously works the next morning. I.e. being off for ca. 9-12 hours. This time when it happened, I plugged my external harddrive in while the laptop was starting up. Once the laptop was up and running, the laptop couldn't "see" the external harddrive, so I switched it off and the problem started.

Some info:
The external hardrive is plugged in via a usb cable, I use vista 32bit...

Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot!

Does this happens only within Windows, or with any other OS installed? because that could be a hardware's fault.

A friends laptop, during boot the screen showed 2 groups of about 10 vertical lines running from top to bottom on the left hand and right hand side of the screen whilst the ACER logo-wallpaper was visible. After booting I changed the VGA drivers to standard VGA and during reboot the problem disappeared. After loading the NVIDIA Drivers update from the Acer website, during the shut-down-restart process I had a BSOD.
Now during boot the screen is lit up but remains blank - with a CD in the CD Drive I can hear the laptop accessing it .
I removed the HDD and placed it in my desktop and this booted up normally. Could this be a Graphics card problem on the laptop or should I reaccess the HDD from desktop and delete the VGA driver files. If yes where and which (on the laptop HDD) could I find these files.
Failing all of the above is a there a "blind way" to access the boot from CD/USB option as I can't even access the BIOS so as to change the boot oprions and reinstall the OS.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My system is roughly 5 months old. I had used the upgrade software that Acer provided to upgrade from Vista to 7 home premium. There was no issues with the install and everything worked great for a month and then it started going in to deep hibernation. The only way to wake it was to unplug the power from the tower. I did everything I could think of from editing the registry to updating drivers, to finally reinstalling everything. No go so I packed it up and sent it back to Acer. I just got it back from Acer's repair depot. They had to replace the motherboard, hard drive, and fans on the system. They performed a factory restore and told me that I was good to go and updating shouldn't be an issue. I went to use the upgrade dvd's from Acer and low and behold, the hibernation thing started again! It took me four attempts to restore it back to factory. Now it seems stable running Vista. I am in the process up updating the drivers and windows stuff so time will tell. Is it me or is Acer systems flakey?

Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can go about updating to Windows 7 without having to format every week? I have tried doing clean installs without going the upgrade path and it still behaves badly. Sometimes it won't even turn on. Or is it just possible that the pc I purchased just can't handle Windows 7?

A:Acer Aspire M3203 and Acer's Windows 7 upgrade software

Are you booting the Acer Win7 Upgrade Media DVD to do a clean install? You can do that to get the cleanest possible install, without the corruption that is imported from Vista in an in-place Upgrade.

The installer is driver-complete, but afterwards any missing drivers which don't quickly arrive in Optional Windows Updates can be found on the apps/drivers CD along with favorite apps like Works, cam, etc. Others can be found on the Acer Support Downloads webpage for your model computer, Adobe (flash, Reader) and Java (runtime, free Ofc suite) sites.

Hi,

I've been having this problem for some time now (more or less since I've installed win7 beta), but it's getting worse.

I get BSODs with different messages, inluding:
- ntfs.sys
- atapi.sys (or something like this)
- there was another one, relating to volume manager... can't remember exactly
- lots of generic STOP with no driver details

I think the problem is somewhere in IO stack. I can more or less replicate BSOD by intensive disk IO tasks (compiling, running virus scans...). Unfortunately, since IO dies, minidumps are NOT written.

Where do I start? How do I debug this? I've ran clamav and it found no virueses and it did NOT crash my system (so I guess HW is ok). I'll try scanning for rootkits from a livecd (if i find one). Windows rootkit detectors just crash the machine (high IO).

Ideas?

Hello everyone! First post here so be nice

I recently bought a new screen for my acer aspire 5920g to upgrade the 1280x800 supplied screen. The new screen is WSXGA (1650x900), I've managed to get to the point of exchanging the screens however it seems as though acer only have wired up half the LCD cable. Now, I thought no problem, i'll wire the rest up myself. The only issue is that i'm not sure it is possible, there are not another 8 connections on the motherboard plug to wire up...... does anyone know if this is possible?

Hi there I did a clean install of Windows 10 several months back. All is working perfectly fine. However, Bluetooth does not appear in Device Manager (including when hidden devices are shown):  This hasn't bothered me up to now, because I never had a requirement to use Bluetooth since I purchased this laptop back in 2012. However, now I do... 1)  Have tried installing the Atheros Bluetooth 8 and 8.1 drivers from Acer Support>Drivers & Manuals. Still no luck (FYI there are no Windows 10 drivers supported for V3-571) 2) Because of the above I tried installing the driver for V3-572 (some people have recommended elsewhere for other issues with Acer models not supported with W10 drivers) - unfortunately this did not work. I installed the below only.  All the above install did was update my wireless network adapter driver? Bluetooth still did not appear in device manager. Can anyone help? I must add that Bluetooth does not appear via the W10 menu either:  But greyed out Bluetooth option does appear via notifications>actions menu pop up (unable to activate, probably because there's no apparent driver according to device manager):  I know that that the obvious answer will be "Your Acer Aspire model is not supported with drivers for W10, therefore there may be some compatibility issues", but surely someone out there must have my model (or older), be using W10 and still be able to use Bluetooth? Many thanks... However with the November 10586 after the update it said Sorry this bluetooth wasn't compatible and was removed.  I tried to reinstall the Wireless/Bluetooth Driver but bluetooth still away. Lucky my Wireless part still working....  Maybe it could be the same thing with yours. Or maybe if you give your Wireless/Bluetooth model maybe there is others that have info about a good Driver for your system James PS. Not all systems have everything that is listed in the Drivers list of Acers website. It could be that yours didn't come with the Bluetooth Part

Hey,

Since I changed my default laptop 2x 1gb ram to 2x2gb from kingston I get random bluescreens, sometimes in the first seconds watching a vid with vlc, sometimes when I haven't touch the laptop and start moving the mouse, and some other situations. 9 hour memtest shows no errors, haven't tried them separately.
Going back to my old ram (which was fine before) is not an option, since it makes starting 32 bit programs impossible (something about syswow64). BIOS update won't work while in w7 & the boot cd's I made keep loading..

Hi and welcome

With only one BSOD and very little info in it. I am going to have to be more general than I would like. This kind of crash can be caused by three things. Hardware (incompatible or bad), Software (the OS or other), and memory.
Since you have already run memtestx86 I would start by upgrading the drivers listed below. They are 3 years old and I suspect you didnt do a clean install whan you upgraded to win 7

Run a system file check to verify and repair your systems files. You may need to run it more than once. Run it untill the replort generated says no errors found.

It did it from the beggining before even show the bios diagnostic. I did a couple of restarts to make sure its ok but after 2-3 restarts i show in the screen some hotizontical green lines in some parts of the screen and it get only in the loading vista bar. After a restart it shows again vertical lines in all screen and it doesnt seems i can fix it this time. Has anyone any idea what causes it and how can i fix it? Also i have the same laptop (5920g) with same characteristics but seems motherboard is not working and i wonder if the problem is in graphics card if i can change it from the other laptop i have. I just received it back from Acer and they said there is no fault. I have 3 different AC adapters (none of which will charge) and two batteries (neither of which will charge). I thought it may have been the plug at the back of the laptop but they say that it is working. I only have a few months left on my extended warranty.

I have wiggled the cord, I have bought new a new battery (which worked until it ran out of charge), two new chargers (one of which worked for one day, the other not at all) and sent it to the manufacturer. The OS is Vista.

Can someone please give me some idea what to do next? I have seen external laptop chargers, but I'm worried it will just be another waste of money. HELP!!!

When you sent it to Acer, did you also send the battery and charger?

I am using acer 5920G laptop with a core 2 duo santa rosa 2.0ghz and 2gb ram but my startup is very slow..i wonder why?

A:slow startup on acer 5920G laptop

Hi,

Have you choosen what your computer starts up?
(Start >> Run >> Msconfig >> Startup and then deselect what you do not want to start up) but dont disable your firewall and Anti Virus.

Have you ran chkdsk
(Start >> Run >> cmd >> chkdsk if it comes up with convert lost chains press Y for yes)

Have you scanned for spyware, ad-aware and malware?
(I would use AVG Anti Spyware Plus Here is a quick link AVG ANTI SPYWARE PLUS

See if that makes any difference.

Hello, my new Acer Aspire Notebook has my IE homepage stuck to global.acer.com and I can't change it through any of the IE options (Use Blank, Use Current, or typing it in manually - I'm trying to set it to Google).

I went to this page to solve the problem: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q320159 (Home page setting changes unexpectedly, or you cannot change your home page setting).

As per Microsoft's instructions, I tried changing the "Start Page" value in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main," but I got the following error: "Cannot edit Start Page: Error writing the value's new contents." There was no "Default_Page_URL" entry in there.

I was able to change the "Default_Page_URL" value to "Google.com" under "HKEY_ LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main" and the "Start Page" value in there was already set to "http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd={SUB_PRD}&clcid={SUB_CLSID}&pver={SUB_PVER}&ar=home"

The "Default_Page_URL" and "Start Page" entries don't exist in the "HKEY_USERS\Default\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main" key.

Lastly, the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel" subkey doesn't exist either.

I would appreciate any help you could give me, thanks!

The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5742, IntelCore i3-380M
I am attaching a few pictures of what comes on the screen when I turn it on.
Even in safe mode it does not let me log in, it attempts repairs, it fails and then goes to the black screen with the white cursor.
If I try to start windows normally it loads the logo and then goes to the black screen.
Yesterday, in an attempt to do repairs it was replacing invalid security drivers or something like that and it was taking ages so I had to turn it off.
For the last week it took very long to start up, failing to configure windows but it would eventually let me log in.
Since yesterday I am only getting the black screen. it is windows 7 by the way.

i need a very quick reply please

Quick reply!!! Save your data and restore back to factory. Always have a back up image of your OS on a external drive for next time you have this problem!!

I restarted my computer like normal and for whatever reason the computer is now stuck at the Acer boot screen. I try to press DEL to enter Setup and I even tried pressing F12 to go into the Boot Setup, but for whatever reason the computer does not respond to anything.

To shut it off I have to hold down the power button and eventually it shuts off.

Stuff to know:
- I have a wireless mouse and keyboard being used on that desktop.. Should I perhaps try to plug in a corded mouse and keyboard?
- I'm running on Windows 7 Ultimate.
Thanks

Hi everyone I'm at my wits end! I cannot get my webcam to work. I have tried numerous options posted in different forums and on websites but nothing seems to work. Even when I went to the Acer update driver search site. When I added my model number I got about a dozen driver options but as soon as I put in my OS Windows 7 (64 Bit) it came back with no drivers. I've noticed in a number of forums that peoples webcams where working fine in Windows XP but when they updated to Windows 7 they lose the ability for their computers to find their webcams. Is this an inherent problem with Windows 7 and is there anyway to fix it short of buying an external webcam. Surly there must be a way to get it to work !!!
Regards Brett.

Ive had my Aspire 6930 for about a year, i just upgraded to win7, everythings going well, except for the occasional annoyance thats easily fixed....but has anyone else upgrade to 7 from vista ...if so with the drivers/applications....how can i get my launch manager to work ...its really annoying me ...mm the problem is when i change volume or something it hangs...and then doesnt work and the volume just sits there on screen not moving....and sometimes (most of the time the other touch buttons dont even work)

A:Acer Aspire 6930 win7; launch manager problems

Pretty sure you'll find an updated LaunchManager application for Win 7 at the Acer Support site. I had exactly the same problem when going from Vista to 7 with Acer 6530 and recall fixing it this way. Good Luck.

I installed windows 10. Normally, There has no problem. But in today, when I turn on my laptop, it shows some waring like this "boot manager is missing. Please insert recovery image or installation media and hit any key". After I search my problem in google. Some people said "change your boot mode to legacy". So, I changed boot mode to leagacy and windows starting. After that I also repair windows OS from installation disc. But the problem is, everytime when I turn on my laptop, boot mode is  always change automatically to 'UEFI'. So, I need to change it to 'Legacy' again and again. How can I fix this problem without reinstalling windows?

So at first i thought it my keyboard wasn't being seen by windows 10. but sometimes after holding the bluetooth button an unknown device appears that appears to be my keyboard. yet when i type in the connection code it doesn't respond and then the device no longer is showing. It could just be another bluetooth device though; i live in a dorm so there's many other people with bluetooth devices in the area. I checked out this: https://acer--uk.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/30072/~/how-to-pair-the-acer-bluetooth-keyboar... but it only applies to 8 and 8.1, not 10. Perhaps acer should release a driver update for windows 10 early adopters that fixes their keyboard to work with windows 10, unless there is a simple bug fix? Is this normal for a 6 month old machine..? I can't update windows 10. The message says that there's not enough room to update windows 10, so I buy a 32 gig card....still it says theres not enough space,,,so I try a 32gig usb stick....still no joy.....So I take it back to PC World where I'm treated like a child and told that they won't take it back...they'll just send it back to Acer to have windows 8 put on ...??!  and did I realise it was a cloudbook and NOT a laptop...!! Left the shop with steam coming out of my ears...so, my question is this....Has anyone out there succeeded in updating their windows 10 cloudbook Because that despite having owned and worked with computers for over 30 years I cannot solve this problem....(Nor have I experienced such poor ill informed salespeople as I have in PC World....but that's another story...

To start off, this laptop has been horrible since the day I got it. I can't even believe how slow it is; it lags doing even the simplest tasks. That aside; I was prompted to update an AMD Catalyst Radeon (something like that) software, so I did. The screen went black and nothing happened for almost 10 hours.I eventually decided to turn off the power. Now that I turn it back on it's just stuck on "Acer explore beyond limits" screen. It has been like this for days now. I've tried turning it on and off again several times. It's just stuck at that screen. What do I do? How do I fix this? I need this computer for school.

My acer active pen is not working consistently. The screen recognizes it sometimes, and other times it does not. The only way I can get it to recognize is by power cycling the pen (taking the battery out and putting it back in), or by power cycling the laptop. I replaced the battery so I know it is not a battery issue. I have an Acer Aspire R13 (Model #R7-371T), and recently upgraded to Windows 10.  I was having this problem earlier with Win 8.1, but it seems to have gotten worse with Windows 10.  I have updated to all the most recent drivers.  Very frustrating. Any thoughts?

Hello, im user of Acer Aspire ES1-331. I have been using it from February 2016 with Windows 8.1For a long time Acer Quick Access and Acer Bluelight Shield were working properly but some days ago something happened and: option of sharing WiFi disappeared (it was under "Rozruch do pulpitu") from AQA and it became impossible to turn on ABS. Earlier when i turned it on or off it happened immediately. Now some dots are going around for a few seconds and i get that: http://imgur.com/a/EpfjtIt means : "You cant control that device" . the same happens when i change intensity of ABS - nothing changes however it can write that it changed. On the screen "high" level is turned on but you see that it is a lie. I am using it on Admin accoutn of course.I reinstalled Acer Quick Access but nothing changed and i cant use Acer Bluelight Shield. Rest of options of Acer Quick Acces works (Wifi and Bluetooth). Thanks for reading!

Not sure why this happened but you can try rolling the system back to a previously working configuration. Try the steps to roll it back at http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/37096/~/windows-10%3A-restore-windows-from-a-restor.... If Windows Updates ran prior to this happening something could have installed that caused this. Restoring it back like this should resolve the issue.
