I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,i recently purchased a Yoga 720 13ikb together with an AUKEY USB-C dock for HDMI and power delivery.Sadly i'm unable to get a video signal. Windows tells me that the device maybe doesn't support Displayport alternate mode, which is apparently mandatory for HDMI over USB-C. Does the Yoga support Displayport alternate mode at all or is there an other way to connect the device to a HDMI monitor?

Hello!I am trying to find out if DisplayPort is supported on the following two models: - Yoga 710-14IKB (80V4003LMX)- Yoga 900S-12ISK (80ML000RMX) I need to drive UHD TVs (4K at 60fps) and various high resolution displays using DisplayPort (HDMI 1.4 only supports 4K at low refresh rates).  It seems to be difficult find out looking through the documentation provided by Lenovo. Hi I have a USB-C to DisplayPort converter cable to connect my Yoga 900 to an HP Envy 32 with a resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels. It normally works reasonably well, except for two things: (1) It usually takes three or four connections (pulling USB-C connector in and out) until the monitor is recorgnized and (2) it flickers from time to time. Hopefully, this is an issue with the cheap cable and not the expensive computer or monitor! Now, the USB-C port is spec'ed as having native display port 1.2 video output. Does this mean that I should be able to use a simple cable without a protruding converter as the one in the link below or do I absolutely need a converter? Does the Yoga 900 comply with Alternative Mode DisplayPort? Are there any recommended cables? I didn't check the Lenovo shop in a while, but there was nothing like this when I last looked. USB-C to DisplayPort 1,8 m cable: https://www.amazon.es/Cable-adaptador-Plugable-USB-C-DisplayPort/dp/B01EXKDRAC/ref=sr_1_29?s=electro... This one's a little long for my configuration. A 100 cm cable would be enough. Thanks!    -Philippe Gibelin

Hi! I am trying to connect my Yoga 900 13-isk 80mk to a Samsung SA850 27 inch screen through the usb-c port on the computer, via a Kanex usb-c to display port adapter and a display port cable. The computer  finds the screen, it even says Samsung SA850 on the detected screen, but I can´t extend the display to it, cone it or just use the external display.Windows 10 tries to connect to the Samsung display, it asks if I want to keep the settings, and the image just shows on the Yoga 900 like nothing has happend. I have tried a couple of cables, and it seems the usb-c to display port adapter is working, or Win 10 wouldn´t find the Samsung display.I have tried rebooting, checking the drivers, disconnecting and connecting the cables and adapter several times..Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi.

I'm not sure about this since I don't have any of those device, but your question seems to be very interesting.

According to the cable you are listing it says "USB 3.1 Type-C to Mini DisplayPort" which may mean that from a computer with USB-C port you can connect a monitor with mini display port plug, but I'm not sure if it will work the other way.

Maybe someone with more experience with USB-C can reply this.

Last night, I rebooted my computer in safe mode, using the msconfig.exercise option. Instead of clicking 'minimal', I clicked 'alternate shell' by mistake... Now, when I log on to both of my user accounts all I see is a black screen, as well as a black prompt box...

the message in the prompt box says: Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.760]
C:\Windows\system32>

I guess my goal here is to get back to my regular windows mode, or back to safe mode so that I may actually use my computer. This is something that I would need step-by-step assistance with...Any help is greatly appreciated!

I picked up a Skylake yoga 14 (model # 20FY0002US) and I'm not getting anything from the DVI or HDMI outputs on a mini-DP to HDMI/DP/DVI adapter. This is the particular adapter I tried:http://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-Thunderbolt-HDMI%C2%AE-Passive-Adapter/dp/B013Z71ZI0/ref=sr_1_9?ie... To be clear, the adapter offers DVI, HDMI, and DP outputs, only one of which works at a time. I'm not trying to plug three monitors into it. However, if I hook up a monitor via either the DVI or the HDMI outputs, the computer freezes for 15-60 seconds and nothing shows up on the external monitor. Drivers are all updated. I've tried the adapter on a Surface Pro 3 and it worked flawlessly. I've also tried it with multiple external monitors, so the problem is definitely with my ThinkPad. I've also tried DP1.1 and DP 1.2 versions of the adapter. Again, nothing out of the DVI or HDMI outputs.  Oddly enough, when I tried a simple mini-DP to VGA adapter, it worked.  What gives? This is a pretty important functionality to be missing...

I've tried two miniDP to DVI cables which neither worked.  I just bought an Apple miniDP to VGA adapter and that doesn't work either.  I've tested the monitors and they are good.  I'm assuming the cables are not the issue since I tried three.  I just read on another post that it is a design limitation that miniDP to HDMI or DVI do not work with this laptop.  I don't understand that.  However, it says that miniDP to VGA should work.  It clearly works for you.  Did you do anything other than plug the adapter in?

A:Yoga X1 ThinkPad thunderbolt LG Monitor Connected via DisplayPort - No Sound

You might need to enable it.

With the monitor connected, turned on and displaying your computer's desktop:

Right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "playback devices."

In the white area of the dialog box, right click and make sure both "show disabled devices" and "show disconnected devices" are both checked.

Right click on the various playback devices to make sure they're all enabled.

If you start something with audio, you should see the little green "meters" bouncing on one of the devices. Right click that device and set it to default.

Hello. I recently bought a StarTech MDP2VGA Mini Display Port to VGA Video Adapter Converter for my laptop, as I had a perfectly good monitor sitting in my closet that I had the idea to use as a second (extended desktop) monitor, but no VGA port built into the laptop.

Everything seems to be working great with good quality results, except for one thing, which is Sleep Mode. 9 Times out of 10 whenever the laptop goes to sleep, be it by a set time of inactivity, closing the cover, or manually telling the machine to go to sleep, when I wake it up, I get the ?blue screen of death? on my primary (laptop) display, which most of the time displays a heading of ?BAD_POOL_HEADER?, with the only way out to force the computer to shut down.

My specs are:

Computer:

? Dell XPS L702X
? Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) SP 1

Display Adaptors:
? Intel (R) HD Graphics Family
o Driver Version: 8.15.10.2321
? NVIDIA GeForce GT 550M
o Driver Version: 8.17.12.8562

MiniDisplay to VGA Adaptor:
? StarTech.com MDP2VGA Mini DisplayPort to VGA Video Adapter Converter

Second Monitor:
? Dell 1907FP

The steps I have taken so far have been checking to make sure all the video drivers are up-to-date and updating where needed, uninstalling software I installed in the last few days to try to see if I was blaming the issue on the wrong thing, likewise, I did a System Restore to about 3 days back. I've recently (13th of April) bought new Yoga 530-14IKB. It has adequate CPU i3-8130U, which is faster than i5-6200U in my sister's Acer laptop, but I anyway don't play any games. Despite that, its battery life isn't good. It works about 3-3,5 hours in Chrome. Hello All, I have an issue with my YOGA 700 laptop when logged in multiple accounts simultaneously. Whenever an account is left logged on and the user is switched as opposed to logging off, the cpu usage ramps up very high with several RUNDLL32 processes being the culprit. I have checked the RUNDLL32 processes with Process Explorer and the command line are as follows:C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\EnableAutoRotation.dll,RunCustomMonitor The directory is as follows: C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\ The only solution I have found is restarting the laptop. The problems comes back when again more than one user is logged in. Also, the rundll32 processes only run high cpu on one account at a time and there doesn't seem to be a preference for a specific account, all of them are plagued one at a time with the problem. Disabling the Yoga Mode Control service is a fix but that breaks the mode control which is essential in this laptop. I have tried installing all the available software on the Software page foor the YOGA 700. The rundll32 processes drain the battery very fast and I can't always log off other users when they have apps open!  I have posted a screenshot of process explorer showing 2 rundll32.exe processes using 25% cpu usage each. However, sometimes up to 4 rundll32.exe processes open up and they use combined 100% cpu usage, which makes the laptop run very hot and slow. In t... Read more

Are there any adapters to do this or ways to do this? I can't seem to find any.

I am buying new monitors, the dell u2414h. Now, while this does have hdmi, I will be connecting multiple monitors together to extend the display from the laptop to give me multiple screens. The problem with this is that it only works if you use displayport and not hdmi, so I need a way to convert the hdmi to displayport or mini displayport.

I will primarily be using these monitors with my laptop that has displayport, so that is why I am getting these monitors and that won't be a problem. I will most likely hook up other laptops to the monitors and hdmi is way more common from what I have seen on laptops than displayport and is why I need a way to go from hdmi to displayport or mini displayport.

Any ideas? Thanks.

You can't, HDMI does not support daisy chaining in the manner that DisplayPort does and you can't use a simply adapter to go from HDMI to DisplayPort and get the features of DisplayPort.

I can't really identify which update has created this situtation but I know that when a couple of months ago it was still working. I also have the impression that more are affected, so could Lenovo release a patch to troubleshoot and solve such an important issue for a Yoga product (basically there is no Yoga functionality with this problem).
