Bluetooth - How to pair with Bluetooth device

Q: Bluetooth - How to pair with Bluetooth device

I am having difficulty to get my laptop paired with a Bluetooth enabled cell phone. If I attempt to connect from the cell phone to my pc, a key code is asked for and needs be entered.

My question is how I can get this key code which needs be entered on the Bluetooth Device. On the laptop I navigated from Control Panel and to Bluetooth Devices, then clicked Add Wireless Device, but no device is detected even though the Bluetooth on the cell phone was turned on. Device Manager indicates drivers for the Bluetooth device are installed correctly.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I just reinstalled windows 8 on my laptop. I cant get the trackpad to scroll or pair a bluetooth device. My computer is not seeing any bluetooth devices. I am thinking it may be a driver thing. My laptop is a acer v3-771g-9809. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I never had to download drivers or installed them before.

A:cant get the trackpad to scroll or pair a bluetooth device

Start with Acer to find your new drivers. I'm assuming you did all your updating and now have 8.1.

Hi,

I updated bluetooth drivers from Lenovo website, but the problem wasn't solved. I downloaded it from Broadcom either, and the same again. Then, searching the web, i found this KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2486635
and installed it. ftBth.dll changed from 6.1.7600.16385 to 6.1.7601.21876, but that doesn't solved the problem.
Any hints of what can i do?
Thanks

A:Explorer.exe crash while trying to pair with a especific Bluetooth device.

Just a note, your Belkin is more then likely not compatible with Windows OS. The list of compatible devices does not display Windows OS as a compatible system. It does display various phones, tablets, and music players. More then likely that is an issue
since it is due to a compatibility issue.

I spent many hours trying to figure out how to connect my two Windows 7 64-bit PCs to my Bluetooth stereo audio device (the Motorola S705) and so I thought I'd post my solution in case it helps anyone else.

SYMPTOMS:
A Bluetooth-capable Windows 7 PC can pair, but can?t connect, to a stereo audio device (like the Motorola S705 SoundPilot) via Bluetooth. The PC and the audio device may pair, but then Windows 7 provides the following error messages: ?Device driver software was not successfully installed. Bluetooth Peripheral Device. No driver found.?

It may be worth noting that I had no problem connecting my Bluetooth audio device to my cell phone or Windows XP PC. And the Windows 7 PC was able to connect to other Bluetooth devices, such as mice or keyboards.

CAUSE:
Even though the Windows 7 PC may have a working Bluetooth driver that connects to some Bluetooth devices (like mice or keyboards), the Windows 7 PC does not have the necessary A2DP & AVRCP (audio-capable) Bluetooth software & drivers installed. This software deficiency may occur, especially if the PC has been upgraded from an earlier version of Windows or the PC maker has simply not provided the latest driver update.

SOLUTION:
If the PC has an add-on Bluetooth adapter/dongle, download & install the latest driver directly from the Bluetooth dongle maker?s website, if possible.

If the PC has Bluetooth built-in, download & install the latest Bluetooth driver directly from the PC manufacturer,... Read more

System Information: Asus Notebook UX303L, Windows 10, Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition

Okay, I've been working on this for awhile and have tried a million things. I'm going back to square one so pretend I haven't tried anything yet.

Here is the problem.

I just upgraded to Windows 10 (from windows 8.1) on a 2 month old laptop. On previous version there were NO problems with bluetooth. The problems started immediately after upgrade.

When the upgrade finished Windows 10 remembered all of my previous Bluetooth pairs. My bluetooth mouse (Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition) worked before the installation but after my system reboot the cursor no longer showed movement. The batteries are new. The mouse is acting exactly like it does when it is properly connected (lights flash, makes scrolling sounds, etc). When I checked the Bluetooth device screen it still showed as paired. I rebooted. No change. So I unpaired the device. When I unpaired the device it flashed for a second as a possible device to pair with and then was no longer on the list. Other possible devices to pair with appear and disappear from the list without cause. (Ex. sees a scanner for a few seconds then no longer has a scanner. Sometimes its up for a few minutes at most but the list is constantly flickering.) So I rebooted. Then it did not see the mouse at all. I did this for several days. Sometimes when I would turn on my laptop it would flicker, sometimes it would not. After about 3 days with no ... Read more

A:Bluetooth does not Recognize/Pair/See Bluetooth Hardware

Probably Windows 10 replaced the original Bluetooth driver with Microsoft driver which doesn't work well, if at all. Go to manufacturer's site and download the Bluetooth driver. If there is no Windows 10 driver, use that of 8.1 This should fix your connectivity problems.

Is there a program that allows me to un-pair Bluetooth devices BESIDES the Bluetooth tab in PC Settings?
I can NOT un-pair devices this way! Note that removing the device via Device Manager does NOT remove it, as it comes right back.

I had to buy a new Bluetooth adapter to re-pair my devices, but I got THE SAME ISSUE as before, and that is this.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, I can't do it like this:

And before anything, yes, I'm admin. Also note there is no on/off switch. Please explain this. Thanks.

A:Cannot Un-pair Bluetooth Devices

1 month later, any suggestions?

Basically:
Cannot un-pair via Device Manager (just simply comes back after uninstall, removal, and re-insertion of BT dongles).
Cannot un-pair via Bluetooth tab in Settings.

Every time I try to pair my Bluetooth keyboard in Windows 8.1, I get the error "That didn't work", with the subtext "Try again, and make sure your keyboard is still discoverable."

Given the uselessness of the error message, I don't even know where to start troubleshooting. Any ideas?

A:Can't pair my Bluetooth keyboard

Hi,

can you please let us know which keyboard are you using? Check in the keyboard settings, if it has the option which you can tick, like "make the hardware discoverable".

Click the Start button, click Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Bluetooth Devices.
Select the device that's not working, and then click Remove.
Click Add, press the reset button on the device (or make it discoverable following the manufacturer's instructions), select the My device is set up and ready to be found check box, and then click Next.
If the device is not found, repeat the previous step. When the device is found, select it, and then click Next.

The one that cured the problem was the Video driver, which also installed an audio driver and fixed the Bluetooth problem. I started with the Bluetooth first, since it was a Bluetooth problem. Win 10/64 10586, HP z5000 Bluetooth mouse, Dell xps L502X laptop latest Intel Centrino Wireless 3.0 driver 10.0.10586.122
Initially pairs and works, drops after a period, and will not re-pair after a reboot; bluetooth still sees the mouse and states it is paired. Have to either remove and then add again, or, on bluetooth settings, remove and wait for it to say "ready to pair", and then re-pair it. All a bit of a pain.

In addition to the above, we have downloaded the latest software from Intel, we have also tried uninstalling the devices from the device manager. MS says we have the latest software!!

I can see many Bluetooth issues on Windows 10, plus I guess the driver software is quite old, and maybe Bluetooth 3 is uncomfortable with win 10.

Is worth getting a Bluetooth dongle using version 4? Would it be guaranteed to work?

So what's the best answer here to avoid the hassle?

Hi

I have an Ankovo bluetooth headset that I am trying to connect to a Lenovo Thinkpad running a Win7-64 bit OS.
I was able to pair them with the machine as a bluetooth device by doing the following -
1. 1st attempt at pairing the device failed. The device showed up with an exclamation mark in the bluetooth devices window. This seemed to be because windows did not find a driver for this device.
2. I installed the latest BT driver from lenovo's website.
3. This seemed to work so far as recognizing the device driver software was concerned, but the headphones still don't show up in the list of playback devices.

I've read several forums and tried doing several things; most point to the following solution, in that order.

1. Unistall microsoft's native USB drivers (Generic Bluetooth Adapter) from Device Manager.
2. Installing Lenovo's bluetooth drivers.
3. Pair my earphones.

However, each time I try to uninstall Microsoft's driver and install the new one, I get an error which says the installation detects an unauthorized driver and aborts.
Refreshing the Device Manger ("Scan for hardware changes") seems to bring Microsoft's drivers right back.

Does anyone know how I can proceed?

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit on a plain vanilla Dell Desktop. I bought a pair of Jabra Move Wireless headphones to use at my desk.

When I try to "Add a device", Windows can see the headphones, but not pair with them. When trying to pair, I get an error message that:

"Adding this device to the computer failed because of an authentication error. This might be due to an incorrect pairing code. Try adding the correct pairing code for the device. You
might need to refer to your devices documentation for details."

The pairing code is 0000, but Windows 7 seems to have no method of inputting the code.

Microsoft Answer Desk is completely useless, except for offering me one year of "advanced technical support" for $149.
Jabra has been equally useless.
I've found dozens of reports on the net of this exact same problem with various Bluetooth devices and Windows 7, but no answers as to how to resolve
it. All of my drivers seem to be up to date, as is Windows.

A:Jabra Move Wireless Headphones wont pair in bluetooth

And the problem has been solved.
After all of my frustration with the Japanese support office for Jabra, it was the American support staff that solved the problem in one email, by telling me how to reset the headphones to factory settings, something that is not mentioned in any of the accompanying
literature or on the website, anywhere that I could find. After that, the pairing went off perfectly.

It was a very simple procedure, and I'm baffled as to why the Japanese support staff, although they spoke excellent English, was unable to even understand my problem, let alone offer a solution.
Anyway, the headphones are working now. Thanks for all the advice.

So I had this Bluetooth mouse that I only used occasionally. After installing Windows 8, I tried turning it on only to find that it was wasn't functioning. So, naturally I thought of pairing it once more. Unfortunately, the god damn thing just wont show up! I have a feeling it's because I had that mouse as an active device when I was on Windows 7. Anyway to get this to show.

I have a feeling completely removing any traces of the mouse might get it to work again. But I don't know how to do that. I removed it from Device Manager's Bluetooth Devices' section but that didn't do the trick. Furthermore, the Mouse Settings' Bluetooth Tab still lists my mouse as a functioning device although it doesn't show up in the Control Panel's Bluetooth Device list.

PS: The Mouse has no issues. It works fine on my Friends system on Windows 8.

A:My Bluetooth Mouse wont Pair... Heck it wont even show up!

Hi,

Update Bluetooth drivers to latest, and then also the mouse drivers to latest.

If this is a Razer device as your screen name alludes to, be prepared for the possibility of multiple bsods a day. Razer is good for that, for sure. Maybe you'll luck out and they've actually fixed their drivers by now instead of putting fake dates on their webpage that make it look like ancient drivers are new.

I paired Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse to my Windows 7 Professional x64 HP ZBook 14 which is connected to my company's corporate domain. Everything worked beautifully until they had to re-image my PC to resolve a disk encryption issue. That issue is resolved, but I have had bad luck getting my keyboard and mouse to pair and remain connected ever since. However, that's not even the problem now. After troubleshooting my Bluetooth issues by installing different driver versions, pairing and un-pairing my keyboard and mouse, changing settings in Bluetooth Support Service and more, I now have two Bluetooth Peripheral devices that always appear in Device Manager. I believe these are remnants of previously paired devices, but I can not get rid of them no matter what I try. These devices do not show up in Devices and Printers, they become Bluetooth Low Energy HID Devices when I install the computer manufacturer's drivers... As I typed this I thought of installing the Intel Bluetooth drivers I had previously installed to see what would happen... Ok that made things worse. Now there are three random Bluetooth Low Energy HID Devices and none of them are actual devices that are paired to the PC. And pairing the devices does not help. If I could, I would just delete the registry keys but I can't (remember, corporate domain PC). Any help from you brilliant people would be great. Thank you!

TL;DR -

Problem solved. I'm typing this on my phone so I'm going to leave out some details.
1. Remove all non-Windows Bluetooth drivers
2. Disable all problem devices in Device Manager
3. Stop and Disable Bluetooth support service
4. Use PSexec(64).exe to launch regedit as system allowing me to delete keys
5. Delete all keys related to parent Bluetooth device (07f92671... as pictured above)
6. Uninstall Generic Bluetooth adapter and scan system to make sure devices do not return
7. Restart PC
8. Set Bluetooth support service to automatic and start it
9. Install manufacturer provided Bluetooth drivers and have an awesome day. finally

Model is Acer Aspire One D270.
Internal bluetooth doesn't work.
Nothing in device manager.
Fn+F3 is meant to control it, but doesn't.
May be because I've messed with some programs.
Trying to re-install to factory settings.
Any suggestions at all?

thanks

edit: The machine is Win7 baby (starter?), x86_32.

What programs did you remove or mess with? Have you tried repairing these programs?

I was just working happily when my Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse just suddenly stopped working.
The Bluetooth settings page says "Bluetooth is turned off" and there are no options on the settings page or the system tray to turn Bluetooth on.
The Device Manager now has "Unknown USB device - device descriptor request failed" where it did not before.
Other devices all seem to be working fine - USB devices plugged in are being recognized and work properly. Only BT seems to be broken.
I've tried:
uninstalling the device and rebooting
installing the latest updated chipset drivers from the dell website
windows updates
pretty much all of the advice here: http ://troubleshooter.xyz/wiki/fix-usb-device-not-recognized-device-descriptor-request-failed

Any other ideas?
Thanks

So in desperation I just went into BIOS settings to see if there are any BT settings that may have become disabled. I didn't see any, and I didn't change any other settings.
After rebooting, BT and my mouse is now working again.
Something seems to be really flaky here, but hopefully this will help others with the same issue.

Hello!

So I did some searching for a way to fix this problem but I believe that my problem is different than the Bluetooth Peripheral Device problem that most people have.

I am NOT trying to connect a cell phone to my laptop. I am not trying to connect anything I don't think (unless my bluetooth mouse counts?).

I have no idea what a Bluetooth Peripheral Device is. I took some screenshots of the messages I receive every time a wake my computer up or turn it on. (1st, smaller picture)

It tries to update a driver but always fails and gives me this. (2nd, larger picture)

The suggestion my laptop gives me is this

There may be an easy solution to this, but I feel really lost right now.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to SF.

Go to Dell Support
Welcome to Dell Technical Support

Select drivers

Choose whichever option you want to located your 1555 notebook.

Select network
Select Dell Application R226750.exe
This applies to the Wireless 370 mini bluetooth card

And yes, your bluetooth mouse would be a bluetooth peripheral.

Let us know how that goes for you.
