Preferred Solution: Internet Explorer will not allow password access to any site

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Please help. I cannot access any web site that requires a login, which I guess means any secure site. I get the "page cannot be displayed" page, and have tried all of the options they provide at the bottom with no success. Resetting the security level, deleting files and cookies, and ensuring 128-bit security have all failed. Anyone that has an idea, please post, my PC is pretty much useless to me otherwise. Thanks.

I have tried most of the posts on the internet to fix this problem--this is under IE6--"Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later." The problem just suddenly appeared. I'm running a Dell Inspiron B130 laptop with Win XP Home, Service Pack 3 installed, 1 gb ram and a 40 gb HDD. Had McAffee Internet Security Suite preinstalled but removed it via REVO Uninstaller and have only Windows firewall enabled and NO anti-virus. I did try downloading with Windows firewall disbaled and still no success. I can navigate to a site like Google Chrome download page but then when I click on the download button, the error message appears. Also can't download Microsoft or Windows updates from either site, although, again, I can get through the "checking" phase. I've run Malwarebytes, A-Squared, and IObit 360 and removed about 13 traces of malware ranging from low risk to high risk, defragged and cleaned the reg, all to no avail. I originally had IE7 installed, read about rolling back to IE6 and doing the typical repair sequences, again to no avail. Supposedly IE8 fixes this, but I can't download it, although I did try the stand-alone installer of 15 MB without checking the "get updates" box. It loaded and installed and shows up as IE8 but still had the same problems. Then did a system restore back to before the IE8 install, rolled back to IE6 again... Read more

How to force IE 11 to ask for saving credentials again for just one web site, after having accidentally sellect not to remember password for that particular site. Please, take into account that:

- I'm totally aware that storing credentials is not a good security practice, but in my particular case this is what I need to do.

- I know that reseting IE or similar approachs will do the job, but doing that I'll lost more tan 70 web sites credentials. I need a solution not involving loose all the web credentials stored.
- I also know that there is way to do the trick "lying" to IE using a modified but similar username, but this only works in some web sites, depending on the kind of login mechanism used. In my particulare case this trick also does not work.
- I also know that there was a registry hack for this particular problem, but this does not work with IE last versions.

Any help would be very apreciated.

I have a Dell Inspirion B130 Laptop with a Dell Wireless 1370 WLAN Mini-PCI Card.
Windows XP

~No previous problems with this~

At home I have to use Dial-Up, because where I live DSL and Cable are not available yet.

I am a student at a local college, last semester I accessed their wireless service with no problem coming home and using my dial-up.

The other day I took my laptop to school, I connected to the service, but I could not access any sites, I kept getting the page error message.

So, I brought my LT home and connected to my dial-up, now I am unable to access any webpage that involves a password, I can get to the login page, but then I get the "cannot open page error".

I have reformatted, and it is still doing the same thing...

Any ideas?

And what setting do I need to change to access sites after I am connected to the wireless at school?

I did turn pop-up blocker, my firewall, cleaned my cookies and temp files, I am dumb-founded right now!

I know this is something simple!

TIA
~Nora

Hi, perkinshershel, and welcome to the forums.
Have you performed any sort of autotuning disabling on your machine, or else 'tweaked' the TCP/IP settings?

FWIW, Vista doesn't do well with tweaked TCP/IP settings like XP does - it has an autotuning feature that dynamically changes the values for various settings n the TCP/IP stack as needed, thereby making the need for tweaked TCP/IP settings a thing of the past.

A:internet explorer cannot open the internet site...

Did you try other sites ? That is a quick check to see if the problem is your browser. And it would need to be a site that uses similar setup. So if the page that doesn;'t display has lots of javascript, go to another one that has lots of javascript, etc.

On one of my sites, sometimes one particular page wouldn't display. I had to re-edit it, upload, it works fine now. So it may not be your browser. It could be that site.

I don't want to run IE6 on my computer or both versions of IE... Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Do you have a spare computer that you could install IE 6 on and open the website using that. Even better create a virtual machine on your computer then install Windows XP evaluation on it and open the site using your virtual machine.

Microsoft have a free tool to make and run virtual machines called Microsoft Virtual PC.

A:internet explorer freezes on some site need help

Hi defkickjam

Did you build the system, or did someone build it for you? If someone built it for you, and you are experiencing freezes within two weeks, you may want to contact the builder.

If you built this yourself ---

1) Have a look in the EventViewer logs to see if any errors or warnings coincide with the system unresponsiveness. (EventViewer is in the Administrative Tools in Control Panel).
2) Thoroughly scan for malware -- if you have run the PC for any extended period without the firewall or antivirus enabled, malware could be causing the trouble.
3) Try using a different browser (Firefox is fairly good) & see if the problem exists using all browsers, or just one.
4) If you are currently logging into Vista as a "limited" user, try logging on as a user with administrative rights.
5) Have you changed any of the UAC settings recently? If so, try moving them back to their default settings. A security message might be trying to display, & Vista is hanging while waiting for a reply.

Best of luck

Hello
My Internet Explorer is not loading one particular site but another browser is.  The site in question was once a part of Kaspersky's Smart Money list and is a bank.  It has been deleted and that software was recently upgraded to a newer product (Total Security).  I do not know if the a/v is the issue or not.  What I do know is that when I try to load the web page, the browser comes back VERY quickly and states that the address is wrong or my connection to the Internet is down.  Neither is true, of course.

I need some assistance to trouble shoot and try to find out a way to fix this.

System is a HP ENVY, Windows 8.1 x64, IE 11. All MS updates are current.

Hi Guys:

I am currently running PWS4 on Windows 98. I can access my website from my intranet, but I cannot access it from the internet. Since I have not purchased a DNS, I am using just the raw IP address to access the website. There is a dsl/cable router on my intranet. I am thinking that it is not configured properly to take requests from the internet, and that a firewall is enabled to block incoming requests. I have tried disabling the firewall, but that didn't seem to work. I know that the raw IP address that I am entering in is correct, so please don't reply saying that this is the reason. I strongly believe that is a problem with the way my router is configured. The user guide isn't much help. I have a Seimens SpeedStream 2602 DSL/Cable Router. Please don't point me to the user guide again. I am looking for a reason why I cannot access my website from the internet, and a possible explanation of what I can do to resolve this.

Thank You,

Valen

A:Cannot access web site from internet only intranet

I believe this is a loopback issue with the router. I know that I have the exact same issue with my local site. You try to hit it by your DNS name or your outside IP and it does not respond. If you enter in your local IP (192.168.x.x) then the site loads.

I don't think there is a work around for this other then just using LOCALHOST to view your site. Have you asked someone else on the outside to hit your site via your IP?

As far as your router goes, all you should have to do is setup port 80 to be forwared to your local machines IP address. Like I said I don't believe you entering your WAN IP from your local LAN will work. Only localhost will. Unless your outside your intranet and then your IP should work.

You might also want to check out this site.. http://www.dyndns.org/ Its free and it works really well. Then you won't have to have people remember your IP.

Some firewalls will allow you to enter specific sites or IP to block. I'm not at all familiar with the Zyxel 100 firewall, but have you checked there?

Well I will try to be descriptive as possible in the issues and how they came to be. Additionally, I have followed all steps in the "pre-post" with the exception of Updating Windows. The reason being, I cannot go to windows update through mozilla and if I open internet explorer ... my computer will be bombarded.

The Issue:

This took some time for him to come clean, but my son evidentally got a game online and didn't have a registration key. He says he tried to find one online and went to a page for serials, clicked on the link and then all this happened.

Unfortunately, being scared that he might've messed up his father's computer , he just walked away and allowed whatever was happening to run its course. The result is repetitive and at this point I am quite lost on what to do.

When I came home from work, I found my computer with all kinds of popups, error messages, etc going and additionally a task manager blocker so I couldnt get to ctrl alt del. I shut down, rebooted in safe mode and ran spy sweeper (my default engine) and then adaware.

There were alot of results, the list I do have if needed. Based on the "severity" indicator ... the top 10 programs were pretty severe. Quarantined and deleted (with system restore off). I should note here that I was told that there was a virus running in the memory (that warning is no longer occurring with the anti-virus/spyware/etc.

After I restarted I got two blocked access dialogs, but ... Read more

Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3
Internet Explorer 8
High Speed Internet (Videotron.ca)

After repairing my computer by deleting Malware or Trojan with BleepingComputer (www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic389668.html), during the following days I noticed that ONLY at our favorite site (www.cyberpresse.ca) certain parts move as if in a tremor. The main page which contains the titles of all the articles, is ok. But when I click on a detailed article that's when the tremors start. The detailed article contains several boxes for related articles and those boxes move up and down with certain lines of the article that are situated near the bottom of the boxes. This doesn't happen with other sites. I checked the same site with our neighbor computer. The fault is in my computer. Can u help me ? Thank you !

A:Pages jolt at one site in Internet Explorer

I found the answer to my problem. When I click on a detailed article, there is an icon, mostly on top of a box, "F recommended" (F recommender) that causes the tremor. It seems that it is a Facebook problem that they are trying to resolve. I switched off "Compatibility view" in TOOLS of Internet Explorer. Now it moves only once when the icon "F recommended" comes on. Another solution, is to switch from Internet Explorer 8 to Internet Explorer 9.

Hello;

Receive the following error message using Explorer 7 & vista premium 32-bit.....
...."internet explorer can't open internet site.....operation aborted..."

The internet is loaded with fixes but I have yet to find one that works. Seems to be fairly common,
as well as something that just started a few months ago with all my pcs regardless of operating system.
Usually associated with both explorer 7 & 8. Does not occur on all pages, so the problem is intermitant
and according to page content.

Any help would be appreciated- thank you!

It will not be enough to link to a Microsoft FAQ that i can search throu myself, i even have diagnose papers (that im holding up infront of my screen right now ) from the braindoctor that i can't search and find in large documents even thou the answer can be right infront of my eyes
so a direct klick by klick instruction paste could help here

HI ya,

I think I've got a nasty explorer redirect on my laptop --- at least thats what my bank says.

The problem: When attempting to log into my on-line bank, I redirected to another page that asks for additional information that, acording to my bank, is not part of their site or normal log in procedures(ATM pin and credit card 3 digit VCC). Advertising that normally loads at the real bank login site is not loading on my computer. Also, the copywrite notifcatoin on the redirected page indicates 2008 when the banks "real site" should have 2009 listed.

I've run malware a couple of times, but nothing has been found. I am quite concerned that there is some malware on my machine --- internet explorer is behaving strangely (long lag times between entering web addresses and when the screen loads).

I've run DDS successfully, but my two attempts to run GMER resulted in a blue screen of death each time. I do not have access to a Windows install CD, but could make a Boot CD on another machine if required.

I look forward to receiving some assistance in solving this problem.

Regards,
Greg
