Preferred Solution: Virgin Bingo Problem [Moved to Firefox]

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Firefox has been freezing up on me, and when I close it down, I get a bluescreen error. It also happens a lot of the time when I close Firefox down normally. This was happening before I updated to the latest version of FF. I am running Windows XP, and have recently started using ZoneAlarm and Avast on my system.

A:Firefox closes = bluescreen error? (Moved for the mozilla/Firefox Forum)

Hi,

Can you give us the error in full that you are getting. Also, I would check and make sure that ZoneAlarm and Avast are allowing FF to connect to the internet.

Cheers!

I don't know if my problem is Firefox or WordPress but I thought I'd try here first.
I use WordPress to publish articles and usually copy and paste from the finished article in the Articles forum to WordPress but since I reinstalled Win 7 this no longer works as paste is no longer an option when I right click in WordPress, or at least in the particular part that I need it to. I can, however, do it in Internet Explorer, but images aren't copied over, which they used to be. I've tried all the usual things like clearing the cache, but nothing has worked. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

A:Is this Win 7 or Firefox at fault? Moved from Mozilla/Firefox browsers

Hi,
I am using Win-7 too but I haven't used IE. So my suggestion is to, try another browser for the same purpose and then see the effects (I feel firefox is well suited for the purpose). If you are getting same problems then, you are missing with some features of Win-7 otherwise, it is the website issue.

Hi, i have the exact same problem you have, with my pc, i own the 108mb version of the same router, i have connected everything properly, and have done everything to try and get the thing working (including cloning mac address) I can get my normal wired connection working again by connection both the cable and lan the ethernet cables into the lan ports and change the TCP/IP back to how it was beforei got the router (i only do this to save time plugging the cable one back into the modem), i have tried manually configuring my TCP/IP, everything, re-booting, the lot, but nothing bloody works.
Anyone any new ideas, i can't understand why the DSL Router dosen't work with Virgin BB (i have a wireless router, i wantwed it to use wifi on my phone, but oviously it won't transmit the internet)

Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread.

I've created a new thread for your issue here.

have set up 3 com 3crwe754g72 modem router which provides adsl to wired 2 desktop network network and a wireless connection for laptops to use for internet access (and maybe later for wireless network access).

Laptop (os is xp pro) works fine (on explorer and mozilla) and on 811b, 811g or mixed long range settings when signal strength is good or excellent. When I move the laptop and signal strength is poor or moderate, despite the wireless connection icon indicating a connection I cannot connect to either browser 'could not find www.google.com' (or any other site) is the message - nothing changes with both laptop and router set to any of the 811 settings.

Dear BleepingComputer folk,

My laptop is running Firefox 40.0.3 under Windows 8.1 (64-bit).

The Problem

Two nights ago my browser (then Firefox 40.0.2) started opening some webpages extremely slowly, simply refusing to open others and producing a "This document has been moved here" message for others (see below screenshot - the link would appear to go to whatever I searched for, but I never clicked it).

These various problems were affecting familiar websites that I have bookmarked and regularly open, such as Facebook.  This seemed to be in some way related to the cache, as it was not affecting new URLs that I had not visited previously during that browsing session.

Just moved house and have taken on Virgins 10mb BB service.

All works brilliant on my PC running Vista 64bit when I connect direct from the modem however , I want to use the Wireless Netgear router to hardwire a games room next door.

I have used the wireless installation disc and get through as far as the point where my pc finds the router. When booted up all lights appear as they should so I know its not a dud.

All connections are as they should be but my PC cannot find the Netgear Router.

I have tried numerous reboots and have even spoken to Virgin Tech Support!!!! who said it might be the port settings.

Any clues anyone?

Hi there, I am trying to install AVG 9.0. During the installation process it warns me of "potentially incompatible software" (PCguard Anti-Virus) and gives me the option to skip (not recommended) and uninstall software. When I click uninstall software it takes me to Add/Remove Programs but PCguard is not on the list. There doesn't seem to be any trace of PCguard on my laptop at all besides AVG telling me that it is there. Can't see anything in Program Files or start menus.

Any ideas how I can deal with this problem so I can install AVG properly?

Hi Everyone and Happy New Year!
Just wondered if anyone could advise me on a problem regarding trying to play on JPJ Bingo. Been playing the bingo and other games for well over a year and have encountered problems now where it is saying "cannot connect to server" when I try to enter the game or purchase the tickets just for the bingo games. I recently "accidentally" upgraded to Windows 8.1 (after hearing some pretty bad reports) so I don't know if it has anything to do with this (sorry no expert here). I contacted the site and told them the problem and they told me to clear my cache and cookies, to reboot from my wireless router and use chrome instead of internet explorer which I have been using since I purchased my laptop nearly 2 years agao. Nothing has changed at all which is really frustrating. Cant play any bingo. Has anyone any ideas what it might be and what I can do? Thanks all!

Hi there, I recently purchased a X1 Carbon 5th Gen (i7-7500u, 16gb, wqhd, 256gb) and ran a few benchmarks on it out of the box. I was completely perplexed to see that the SSD speeds measured with CrystalDiskMark were not even close to those I had seen in multiple reviews. In fact, they amounted to around 45% of the scores I would have expected. I then checked the hardware listings and was surprised to see that my device does not have the blazingly fast Samsung PM961 which I had seen in every single review of the X1 Carbon (and thus assumed it was standard), but an Intel 600p NVME drive. The speeds measured match those advertised on the Intel website. Lenovo, what the hell? I honestly do not care if they source hardware from different suppliers as long as performance stays consistent. Here, you get either one of the fastest or one of the slowest NVME drives on the market for the exact same price. Meanwhile, every reviewer out there seems to be getting a device with a PM961 equipped.  Regardlessly, I am wondering if the difference between the PM961 and the 600p is actually there in real life. Given that I use Office/Chrome/Matlab, would it be worth upgrading to a faster drive? Many thanks in advance.

Would it be feasible to edit the registry to delete the print spooler, then go to C:Windows\system32 and then run spoolsv.exe to restore the service? I'm not very experienced in this area and don't to make this problem worse. I would save the registry entries and could restore them. Don't know if anyone can help, but hope someone can offer suggestion.

I have a website and the index page has a 'drop-down' menu (for various pages on the site) where visitors can click and go to other pages on the site.

When I view the INDEX page in IE6, the 'drop-down' menu appears in the center of the page, where we want it to appear.

However, when we view the INDEX page in Firefox, the 'drop-down' menu appears on the left side of the page.

Would anyone know what we might have to do (correct) to make the 'drop-down' menu on the INDEX page appear in the center of page when viewed on Firefox?

Here is the beginning part of the HTML for the 'drop-down' menu:

<P ALIGN=CENTER>
<SCRIPT language=JavaScript>
function formHandler(){
var URL = document.form.mysites.options
[document.form.mysites.selectedIndex].value;
parent.location.href = URL;
}
</SCRIPT>

We need to see the site to work out problems such as these.

At a glance of the snippet of code you have provided, I would guess its to do with firefox's defualt values compared to IE. Using <p> tags for a layout element such as a menu isn't a great idea.

If you show us the site I can do some tests and try to find the problem.

my sister is having difficulties trying to get her tickets when she wins bingo on pogo. It says "Validating your bingo claim", but nothing happens.. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Sun Java because pogo support said to, but it still won't work. she has Windows XP SP2. I have contacted pogo numerous times, but none of them can find out how to fix this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
In response to Dan's (dtae) posting entitled "sponsored links" on left in Firefox" I too have just got this infuriating problem.
The sponsored links on the left are not solely Google related nor it would seem solely Firefox related!!!
In Firefox the left links are present in a Google or Yahoo search.
They are not present when using IE or Safari.
However, they are also NOT present in Firefox when using the Google related search 'Locate Me'.
I have also run 'CustomizeGoogle' in Firefox and this does not touch these particular links.
I have run various malware scans and nothing has been thrown up. Nor has my constantly running PCGuard found anything!
I will keep an eye on Dan's posting and hope the above info will help.

I see this on my XP laptop from time to time. The scrollbars jiggle around and won't stay still, making it annoying to try to read a page that is going up and down. It eventually settles down after awhile.

Is this definitely a symptom of infection? I scan the hell out of this thing. I have McAfee anti-virus and anti-spyware on it fully updated and scanning 3 times a week, and also scan using BitDefender and TrendMicro online scans now and again (each once within past 2 wks). And further, I also scan from time to time using updated Ad-Aware, Spybot, SuperAntiSpyware, SpywareDoctor.

Is the occassional jigglyness normal? Does it happen on clean machines? If so, I won't worry. For the moment, I worry a bit.

Any info very appreciated.

Thanks

A:Jiggly scrollbars in IE and Firefox -- a symptom or not?[Moved from Gen Sec]

Hi

Is it the scrollbars or is it your mouse? I'm not immediately aware of an infection that will cause those symptoms, but it's still a possibility. However, I would check things like your OS - is it patched up to date, are all your hardware drivers up to date, any errors showing up in Event Viewer, that kind of thing.

I have this weird problem where I cannot load yahoo.com on my IE7 browser. I can load it on my Firefox browser, but I'd rather use one instead of two; and I need Internet Explorer for using Windows Update.

I can only view yahoo.com, when I'm in safe-mode.
I've done a virus scan with AVG and Windows Defender and both found nothing.
I've also uninstalled and reinstalled IE7, and it still happens.

A:IE7 freezes on loading yahoo.com, but not firefox [Moved from IE]

Well I went into safe mode and loaded the site up just fine, then in IE7-it just finally loaded up.(that was a couple days ago).
But now sometimes I'll find a few random sites where it freezes up in IE7 and when I go into safe mode and load it up, it seems to fix it in Normal mode.

PC World.com, also gave me that. And a link inside PC world, did the same thing. Then I went into Safe mode again, then normal mode again and that loaded, from being froze too.

Thing is I keep finding sites where it will freeze on me, but I've been using my parents IE7 as well on those same site and their browser never froze once, and this computer has been infected before once (their computer), but my computer is CLEAN. I even have uniblue registry booster to scan my computer as well (note that I put this on after having these IE7 problems).

I have also reformatted my hard drive, just 12 hours after my first post, but this problem came back. I'm really clueless as to what's going on, or if I happen to have a very stealthy virus (have 2 anti-viruses, 1 anti-spyware program running on my computer all the time). Help Me!

I joined Bingo Cafe and Bingo Cabin and Jet Bingo over a year ago and have been happily playing up until a couple of week ago.
It first started on my desk top computer, I would click on the logo on my desk top and it would come up and I would click up log in and it would start to connect to the server but it gets to 15% and I get the message It Is Not Possible To Make A Connection To The Server.
So I stopped using the desk top and started using my lap top, and that was fine up until 2 weeks ago now it's doing the same thing on my lap top.
I have emailed Bingo Cafe and they sent me a link to re download the software direct from their site, it made no difference, I have rang my ISP and asked if maybe they were blocking the site but they said no they couldn't do that even if they wanted to. So I have emailed Bingo Cafe again asking them to help, but I thought someone on this forum might have some ideas, I even changed my browser but it made no difference.

A:Can't play my bingo and slots anymore will not download

Not sure about the specific problem, but your ISP is talking rubbish when they say they can't block a site, they can quite easily if they want to. However, I wouldn't expect that to be the problem.

Hi,
I am unable to go into the chat room on my bingo site. yet the site is working fine
It says connection failed, its been 3 days and i can't work out what is wrong.

I have emptied my my temp files and cookies, i have re-installed adobe flash player.
i have even turned my firewall off to see if thats the problem.
I am completely baffled at to what the problem can be, as its only since the site had problems last week.
I even had a new modem to see if that would help.

Please can you help me?
Thanks.
