Q: various problems: 24x7 help/utililab adwares, usb disks problems, and crash on applications

Hi all,
i'm on Windows 10, system x64 bits,

and my three multibootables "sardu" usb drives includes clevx foldit,
two windows2go win 8.1 portables usb drives made with wintobootic,
and my zalman ve350 all plugged on my actual pc,
and black sandisk connect wireless 128 gb stick drive also plugged on this pc,

i pre-installed by wintobootic win 8.1 on samsung fit 128 gb and sandisk reversible micro usb/usb 64 gb drives, but if i boot on this impossible to configure and install win 8.1 because of infinite loop on black screen with windows logo,

and for my three "sardu" multibootables whichs are the customusb foldit 16 gb drive, emtech mobile&go reversible micro usb/usb 64 gb drive and sandisk reversible usb/micro usb 16 gb drive, i have boot error on yumi/sardu boot on theses three drives,

and on my zalman ve350 900 Gb hdd, i have on his root the "_iso folders" actually contains between 13 and 30 iso files and the zalman in dual mode (hdd + iso virtual cd), but the lcd display on the top of zalman drive displays "no iso files" words

and my black sandisk connect wireless 128 gb stick drive have enough free space, but when on "sandisk connect" android app i upload on this sandisk 128 Gb drive a 1 kb or 10 mb file, i have "not enough free space" on the error message of android app

letters attribued of theses drives with all theses weird bugs:

zalman are g disk (virtual iso cd) and h drive (hdd)

emtech reversible micro usb/usb sardu/yumi/xboot with boot error are J drive

wintobootic devices are K & Q drives

black 128 gb sandisk connect wireless stick are L drive
sandisk reversible micro usb/usb sardu yumi multiboot with boot error is P drive
and the sardu multibootable clevx fold-it by customusb drive is T disk

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a compaq presario 6000 desktop computer running windows xp home and when i tryed to redo it with the origanal restore disks i won't make it past 10% and then a blue screen pops up with an error message... so i for mated the hard drive and it still does it so then i rebooted it and then it says that the ntdlr is missing what do i need to do so it will work and so i can still use the restore disks??????

My dad was trying to copy (legitimately) some CDs using Nero6, but for some reason, the copy goes well, but the cd will not work properly. It gets all the tracks right, but when you try to play them, you get a constant tap noise instead on all tracks.

Apparently he had installed some other program to do with CD copying before, and I think that might have messed something or another up.

The drive reads the CD properly, and all other CDs as well. Its not a protection issue, because the CD has no protection whatsoever. Not to mention that copying it on another computer works.

We actually thought the DVD burner had burnt out (4-5 years old?) but when we replaced it with a brand new one, we had the same problems.

I made an image onto the computer itself, and used Daemon to run it, and it had the same constant tapping noise.

I know this sounds very iffy, but so there is no confusion, we're making copies of church sermons. Anyone interested?

Anything that might help?

This might be a BGO*, but have you tried running the write speed as slow as possible? Also in Nero there is an option to preselect CD or DVD - have you got this set right?

What OS are you using? In XP I know you need to set the HD to run a scan before next startup. Defrag should work no matter if your in your OS or not. In earlier editions you should be able to start in safe or dos mode and then try running it. Make a windows startup disk and see if that works.

Hello, I have been trying to run some training software from DVD drive in my HP desktop running XP, this is software I have used previously with no problems, but now will not run. The program appears to load ok, and accepts my login but then just freezes up, I can't even close the window, I have tried the backup disk for this program with the same results.
I have to close the window through ctrl/alt/del, to bring up windows task manager then click on applications and select 'end task', which still does not close the program, I get another pop-up window telling me that the program is not responding, I now have to click on 'end now' which does close the program, I now get a pop-up window, saying: javaw.exe you chose to end the non responsive program javaw.exe please tell microsoft about this problem, so, I click on the error report link and get javaw.exe error signature:
szAppName: javaw.exe szAppVer:
szModName: hungapp
szModVer: offset: 00000000.
I then click on the link "View technical info about the error report" which gives: "The following files will included on this error report C:\DOCUME~1\ADMIN~1\TEMP\WER4db9.dir 00\appcompat.txt.
I have also tried this disk in my Vista laptop with the same results, can anyone throw any light on this problem?.

Hey There,

This my first raid system so, i just bought a new intel D975XBX supporting Raid 0, 1 and 5.

I have 3 disks: 1 Maxtor 300gb for booting, and 2 WD 320 for mirroring (Raid0)

I installed the OS on the Maxtor - everything fine here!

When i tried to change de Bios and i put it in raid mode( to access the WD and config in raid 0) the pc does´t boot. I think i understand that - the bios is assuming that all drives in the sata ports are a single raid, and they really aren´t.

What i have here is a mix of sata and raid, can i have that?? i tried everything

Need help here!!

PS: MOBO supports

Four Serial ATA interfaces with RAID support (four additional interfaces available with optional discrete RAID controller)

One parallel ATA IDE interface with UDMA 33, ATA-66/100 support

A:Problems with 1 bootdisk + 2 disks in raid1

For several reasons, I want to use only two disks therefore Raid 1 is my choice (for mirroring).
The other Sata has the OS.

Is this possible? Can I create a RAID configuration in the RAID BIOS and in the regular BIOS set it to Boot from the SATA?

Thanks in advanced for the help

I've been having two problems that have been bugging me for awhile now, and i don't seem to find a fix for them.

1. When i connect an USB Memory Card Reader, the Windows checks for disks inserted into the drives (the memory card reader has multiple card slots and all appear in My Computer whether empty or not) and displays an error: "Windows - No Disk. There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk4\DR8"

If i click cancel, try again or continue, Windows keeps popping up error messages for each drive of the Card Reader, and when i cancel the last error message i get a BSOD.

If i boot with the Card Reader attached, i get no error messages, and later if i perform operations with it or insert an USB memory stick, Windows figures out i have the Card Reader inserted and prompts me the same errors. I guess there's something wrong with the autoplay/ removable disks system.
2. Every time i boot Windows and log on, explorer.exe crashes, with the following error message:

The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program.

From time to time "0x000" gets replaced by a random address.

I don't remember when this started to occur, or what i did to cause it, and it always prompts at user logon, but only on a fresh boot, if i log off and then back on it doesn't pop up again.

Hi sry, for my english in the 1st place. Now the problem:

I have a Compaq Presario Notebook, V6000 adquired in 2006 with windows XP media center edition, I used a few times the recovery disks and all was ok, at more or less 6 months I upgraded the BIOS at recomendation of HP/Compaq because of issues with the model in question (loads of problems more than the ones they admit) so I upgraded it, and less than a weak after I tried the windows 7 Beta release edition, till 2 days ago, I put the recovery disks to downgrade and well, the problem appeared, I got this message: This Recovery Volumes don't support this model of PC I looked in the dxdiag and for my surprise my laptop is not more an Compaq Presario, but an HP MCP51M, and in the BIOS in Notebook Model is nothing, blank, for what I see the disks check the model of the laptop, and the right info is not there, any help??

A:Problems using recovery disks to reinstal windows Xp

I have seen this before, not sure you can do anything to solve it, the recovery discs look at the bios, and see that field is blank, and halts the recovery process. I had this same issue on a HP DV6000, never found a solution.

ImgBurn is quite a popular burning software. No doubt it has many plus points, but today using it only for the second time, I ran into rough weather that spoilt my Sunday and my trial.

Having made an ISO of a BD movie for my trial using IsoBuster, I invoked ImgBurn to burn that ISO to a virgin Verbatim BD-RE DL. As the info box ran the script of actions taken by ImgBurner, one little read took me my surprise.

Since it was a virgin BD-RE, ImgBurn started a full format and formatting without Spare Sectors. Is ImgBurn trying to do something unwarranted - just to regain some more space? This was the thought that ran in my mind but it was a little late to stop it and so I let it go. 1.5 hours to format and another 1.5 hours to write the image and my BD-RE was ready to be tried.

But alas, neither Power DVD, nor TMT5 nor Nero's Bluray player will play the BD when mounted on the Virtual Clone Drive - unsupported format.

I quickly ran through the ImgBurn forum and found support that many people indeed had problems in playing BDs formatted by ImgBurn. In some cases the BD-REs will play on the PC, but not on the hardware players. ( In my case it did not even play on my PC)

Lightning UK - the venerable creator of DVD Decrypter - blames it on the players that do not tolerate the absence of spare sectors. Hmmm... these look for compliance with standards.

Come to think of it, the blu-ray standards specify the spare sectors. Bad sectors will be mapped out and new sectors from the... Read more

Hi all.
I recently bought a new system:
Jeg har fornyligt købt ny computer hos shg:
Gigabyte GA-8KNXP, 875P, RAID, SATA /
2 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.7, 120GB, SATA150
2,8 Ghz intel P4 800 Mhz. Processor.

When I boot from the winXP cd I press F6 and install the SATA raid drivers. Then I format my harddrive and start installing.
After all the files has been copied to my harddrive the system reboots and the installation continues, now this is where the problem is.
Now winXP wont copy several files from the cd and thus the installation isnt complete.
I've tried with 2 different winXP cd's, different dvd/cd-rom drives.
And with only 1 Hdisk connected, but it's the same problem, winXP just wont copy the files over.
Im running out of ideas here, so if any one of you have just the slightest idea whats wrong I'd be thrilled.
Thanks in advance.

Hello everybody,

I 'had' perfectly running system (Asus Z87-A, Samsung SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series *2, Seagate Brracuda 1TB 7200.11 series *2).

I've got perfectl?y running 8.1 x64 homr edition on Samsung SSD disks. I used to have Win7 32b version on HD-Disks, which I later used as storage disks. However I left Windwos7-directory intact in 1st HD-disk.

I experienced slight problems with Barracudas and found out there's a firmware update for my specific model.
When I unplugged SSDs, the old windows 7-installation attempted to repair my system, and since that I cannot use SSD and HD disks same time.

All disks are in ACHI mode.
If just the SSDs are connected everything works, however if I add any of the HDs, system whether fails to start or tries to start old windows 7.

Now in EZ setup SSD are P1-P2 and HDs P3-P4.
For some reason the system always boots the P3 even P1 is 1st in order "Windows boot manager"
I also checked BCD entries and they are correct.

Is is possible that when I disconnected SSDs, windows / wrote the MBR on HD (P3) and now tries somehow to boot there everytime i try?

I've got recovery disk, but automatic startup repair failed. I can access diskpart through cmd prompt.

Help appreciated!

would appreciate some help in solving following boot problem
I have a computer with one old IDE HDD and two new SATA disks,
on one of the SATA disks I installed windows XP and the second SATA disk is used for storage purposes only.

I cleaned the old IDE HDD as I no longer need it, and I thought it was completely empty, but it seems not the case.
At the very beginning I must have made a mistake with the boot sequence as in order to get to the SATA HDD with the os on it I have to go through the IDE HDD
I hoped to have found the solution in getting rid of the IDE HDD, but when I did that I was no longer able to get to the SATA HDD, only when I connected the IDE HDD again could I load windows XP.
Then I decided to format the IDE HDD and reinstall Windows XP again, but in order to do so, Windows XP required a small part of the IDE HDD, so I was back to square one.

I guess my problems has to do with the Intel (R) Boot Agent GE v1.2.36 in BIOS, but I do not have enough knowledge to mess with the bios without guidance of more experienced computer users

hope one of you guys can help me out, before I turn to (expensive) PC doctors

Hello again, After setting up my new machine and fighting for a little bit with the new Office 2016, I encountered a problem with very slow and actually fluctuant copy times.  During a backup process that I conduceted on my old Acer it was constant 32MB/s. When I used my USB 2.0 backup drive attached to that Acer machine before, no matter if uploading or downloading from the drive, it was 32MB/sWhen I copy that very same data to T450s the transfer ranges from 800kB/s to 21MB/s and sometimes it even freezes for a moment. Total copy time is more than tripled. When I tried to access my second drive during the copy proccess (transcdent MTS400) it became not accessible. This is extremly fearsome as unexpected dataloss can occur anytime. Any ideas? I got one driver not installed in my Device Manager, a PCI device of some sort. I can' get it installed. Maybe thats a problem? Maybe its chipset related or something?

What can I have problems with applications are migrating to x64 platform?

My Hardware is all drivers.

A:Problems with applications for change if x64

Unless your program specifically states that it won't run in a x64 environment, then none. I migrated about 1.5 years ago and have had minimal issues. Most of the issues i've had have come from little 3rd party apps, but my games and more mainstream programs run just fine.

The only difference you may notice will be that you will have 2 program files folders, one for native x64 and one for x86.

And for the most part, my native x64 apps run faster than their x86 counterparts.

Hope that helps.

And be absolutely sure that your hardware is compatible, otherwise you'll get nothing but BSODs all day long

I can give you some suggestions but need to know a bit more.

What kind of video software are you using?
Have you tried to update your video card driver or reinstall all together?
Have you reinstalled or applied any updates to your video software?
Have you been able to switch between applications before and this is just starting to happen or have you not ever been able to switch without it going black?

Also supply your OS and video card you are using.

Read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desktop_Window_Manager particularly the section on Redirection. I'm not an expert, but it sounds to me like your games might work if you turned off the Aero interface. Or updated the game, assuming the developer actually supports what they right (I've found that few game developers care about their customers-they're worse than Microsoft in placing more importance on adding new features vs. the 'grunt work' of making those they already have work property.) You might also try running the game in XP mode, if you can. (I noted that DWM was introduced in Vista, implying that it shouldn't be a problem when running in XP mode-but as I said, I'm not an expert.)

I hope someone can help me, there is a place that I have applied for jobs with before, they accept online applications, never had any problems. Today though I keep getting the same error, I called this place and they insist nothing is wrong on their end and that the problem must be my computer.

When I go to submit the application this is what I get;

E-mail couldn't be sent. Error returned: The message could not be sent to the SMTP server. The transport error code was 0x800ccc14. The server response was not available . (EMAIL_FAILED)

Hey there,

I've searched a lot of tech support sites and fora but I still have the same unsolved problem. When running certain full screen applications in my windows vista (32 bit) it keeps lowering my screen directly, somethimes forcing me to click on it a hundred times, before the screen isn't lowered back to the task bar. This mostly happens when running games, fullscreen movies and the like always run without problems and most other programs I use (adobe suite, 3dsmax, virtools etcetera) run in fullscreen mode without a single problem.

I am at a point where I really don't know what I could try to fix this, and it can be really annoying indeed. Hope any of you guys know what to do.

Hello all. I have the latest version of java on a brand new fresh install of Windows Seven with all the available windows updates installed. I use several java based programs for work (From Nortel & Cisco) but they do not work properly. When I click to open any of these applications, they hang for a minute or two and eventually open, and then when they do open, they are completley sluggish and don't respond well. On my XP machine, these apps run instantly.

Is there anything else I can try??

A:Anyone having problems with Java applications?

Hi there

make sure the JRE is the same level that your work requirements are - sometimes having the latest jre and sdk completely hozes up a system if you need to connect to corporate apps with several releases earlier.

Another get around is to run a small XP as a Virtual machine or try "XP Mode".

Until some of the corporate apps are on W7 older java apps could present a problem.

I connect to SAP via a "SAPGUI" which still needs an almost pre-historic level of the JRE 1.4.2 !!. Any later version and the whole app just randomly crashes.

Ever since my last format I haven't been able to connect to the MSN network using any of my applications. I've tried different versions of Live Messenger and Trillian and I've tried all the suggestions in the troubleshooting. Webmessenger works fine though..
I have the same problem in the game Spore, it can't connect to the Spore server.
The last problem is conserning certificates, none of my browsers (newest Opera, Firefox and IE) seem to remember any certificates for any website eventhough I try clicking "Remember my choice for this certificate".

I read on a different website that the sonnection to the Spore server could have something to do with the fact that I'm using an onboard LAN card.

The problems occured after changing my CPU, RAM and Motherboard
I'm running Vista x64 with service pack 1 (however I've also tried it without updates)
I've updated all my drivers and have the latest BIOS.

My current hardware is as follows:
CPU: E8400 Wolfdale
Ram: Corsair 4GB DDR2
Motherboard: Asus P5B SE
GFX: Ati X1950PRO

Looking forward to your responses. Thx!

Every time I reply to an email, or open a new message to send out, my toolbar placement is messed up. (See attachment)

This happens in other office applications as well. If I move them around so they are the way I want them (I don't even need the Adobe one, so I close that one out), they all come back the next time I open the application.

I did a detect and repair, and it "reset" them (to what is in the attachment), but it didn't do it correctly.

How can I fix this once and for all, so it saves the settings?!?!

Could anyone suggest why after installing json v0.7 as an add-on for Firefox 9.01, I still get the pop up for the search application window.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the add-on, as well as setting No Pop Ups in Firefox options.

The PC has AVG Internet Security 2012 running at all times, and the system has been scanned using Malwarebytes. Everything OK.

This is becoming very annoying now as I have to keep clicking the Cancel button many times before the pop up disappears.

I'm sorry this topic is going to probably be very broad, however I'd like to keep this in one topic. When I could no longer run Tekkit(minecraft mod), is when I found lots and lots of other problems. This happened after I tried to uninstall Comodo. Google Chrome can no longer update, I'm pretty sure some registries are messed up, and I can't get java to work properly.
I'm don't want to ask to completely fix every problem on my computer, but I'd like to have my computer running smoothly without getting these types of problems again. I don't know what logs you'd like to see, I'll wait for further instructions if you'd like to help.
Thank You in advance
Edit : I think my internet explorer is a 32-bit, don't know why or how, and java can't be downloaded from chrome. I thought of putting java in environment variables, but you're not suppose to do that. I have spent enough time trying to fix these problems, and have gotten familiar with navigation on my pc through others, but I've hit  point where I don't know if what I'm doing is going to help or make it worse now.

my 80gb is the one having the Windows OS and does not report any errors in the event log.

i think my 500gb has failed
sometimes it does not show up in the bios. a controller issue i presume.
but when it does get detected and i run SeaTools for Windows, the 500gb will pass these tests:

2. Long DST - Pass 1/15/2012 03:55:29
The event log would show same errors as it does for the 1000gb (below) so i have just disconnected it for now.

Hey I've been having major problems with my Laptop.
Every ten or so minutes when my McAfee 2010 security suite disables real-time scanning it'll re-enable itself causing a lot of alarming pop-up boxes which is slowing my computer. Not sure whats causing it but it seems like malware.
Next theres this process which starts at windows start-up (DivxUpdate.exe), I don't think this is actually a part of divx. I've read somewhere that it is a form of autorun malware, it consumes 99% of my cpu majorly slowing down my computer, I think I may have similar malware on here that are problematic.
Also my firefox frequently say that there's an unresponsive script which temporarily freezes my whole computer and when I finally manage to get to task manager I have to end the process which seems to be using a regular amount of cpu and memory.
I made a topic exactly 1 month ago but nobody answered so I thought I'd make a new one seeing as the problems are progressing and building up.

Thanks for any help I'm provided with.

I use word recognition almost daily, and have Dragon Naturally Speaking installed on Windows 10. I use that & the app that comes with Win 10. About 2-3 weeks ago, I noticed that my dictation would go along 'as usual' for a sentence or two, and then just stop. If I clicked the mic off for a few seconds, and then on again, I could continue with the dictation -- but only for a sentence or two, and then would have to repeat the same actions. Naturally, this was frustrating & not too productive.
First I checked to see if it was my mic by using my spare one -- same results. Then I tried both applications, to make sure it wasn't the DNS program causing it -- same results. I starting looking for answers online, and while I found others who seem to be having the same problem, none of the solutions offered have worked. What I've narrowed it down to is this:
I right click the speaker in the lower right corner> I choose "Recording Devices"> I double-click "Microphone" & choose the "Levels" Tab. And therein lies the problem: the 'levels' slide for my mic is at '0' and the icon of the mic has a 'red circle/line through it'... No matter WHAT I do, the slider will NOT stay put ... it always 'jumps' back to '0'. I've tried (as suggested by several) going to the "Advanced" tab & unchecking both of the 'Exclusive Mode' options, but it didn't help.
Back to the 'Sound' tab .... someone said to highlight 'Micr... Read more

We have a new computer in my house running Windows XP Home Edition. My step dad wants to limit each family member to a limited account, but we are having a hard time installing programs so all the users have access to them. I have heard restricing programs is hard, but how do i allow all users to run the same programs with the same save directories and such?

A:New Computer: Problems with sharing applications with all users

Not completely sure what your asking, but you need to be a member of the admin group to install programs so that every member of the computer can access them. Limited account can not install software.

If a program does not show up in a limited account then you can create the shortcut to the program in the "all users" program group.
To see all users programs list, click start, run type C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs (assuming C: is the drive windows is on)

Please note this is pulled and edited from my question on yahoo answers which has proved to be utterly useless to provide me with any decent help.

I will also say I'm pretty bad when it comes to computers so if any answers could be done in the way you explain stuff to a child that would be great as I will get lost with technical speak.

Right here's my problem this has happened over a few days and I've lost count of the things I've tried but it should be in order of whats happened.

For the last few days my computer has periodically stopped opening new internet browser (chrome) tabs and after this starts happening it also won't open any applications either until it is restarted.

If I try to open the browser again or any application I can see in the task manager the RAM use creeping up slowly until it opens but then whatever opened crashes or stops responding.

It is also very slow to shut down or restart when this happens.

After trying many different things I have managed to install Firefox and delete Chrome and now the internet is stable and no longer crashing/not responding but it seems other problems have arisen.

The biggest problem I can find at the moment is whenever I click on a application it will take a very long time to load 5mins plus the same goes for anything like the task manager or the volume controls, network and sharing center est.

It is also still slow at shutting down and takes about 3-4 mins to boot up fully if that is helpful info.

So far I've do... Read more

I'm not sure about Kaspersky 2011, I use Norton and renew each year. It runs a live update to catch any new virus definitions, I think once I'm past the renew date it no longer does that.

If it is not a virus or malware the only other thing I can think of is check and make sure your processor fan is running and that nothing else is overheating. I used to be a programmer but not a system or hardware person.

I've been trying to fix my laptop for a few hours now.

At first it was Microsoft Security Essentials not working due to urlmon.dll missing, so I had to download it and put it in System32. Now the error is (0x000007b). So I uninstalled MSE, did Windows Updates (which won't finish, it's been stuck for a few hours) downloaded MSE again and the error is the same. I've also restarted it a few times as well in the process.

Then I tried opening Internet Options and it wouldn't display, so then I tried looking that up and in another forum there was a brief mention of opening Spider Solitaire to see if a video card is acting up. That's when I tried opening Spider Solitaire and again nothing is opening...

I have no idea what I'm doing, please help.
