Issues with headset and multiple audio software items running at once

Q: Issues with headset and multiple audio software items running at once

Hi all,

I am running an Asus M5A97EVO board on Windows 7 64bit. I run a Logitech G35 headset. So, I left out of province for work last year and was away for 8 months, once I returned I had a Hard drive failure and had to re-install windows on a new harddrive.

I cant recall exactly but I think the following issues came up after the install, they were definantly not there before I went away for work.

I play a PC racing game that uses audio
I use Teamspeak
I listen to Windows Media
I watch YouTube

I used to be able to do all 4 of these at once if I choose to. Now, If I have teamspeak open its hard to get my racing game going, sometimes I have to shutdown teamspeak, then get the game going then try teamspeak again. I cant listen to windows media and youtube videos wont load when I have my game and teamspeak running. If I close them, everything else works normally.

Its like I can only use 1 - 2 audio items at once, its really weird and I am at a loss as to what might be causing this.

Hopefully I have included enough information, anything else let me know and ill get it for you.

Preferred Solution: Issues with headset and multiple audio software items running at once

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I frequently use my USB headset (Razer Kraken Chroma) to talk with friends over Teamspeak. We play games with my PS4 console but I can only use either machine at one time due to the headset only having a USB output. Is there a adapter or some method I can use to allow me to still use my USB headset to talk and listen to my friends while being able to hear the game audio from my PS4 console?

My old headset had both USB and a 3.5mm jack where I could just plug in the USB my computer and the 3.5mm to the back of my monitor, but my new headset, like I said, only features one USB. I thought about maybe having the console audio play through my PC via Line-In and just have my headset pick up that as well as my Teamspeak audio.

A:How to use multiple audio signals with one USB headset

The Line-In method sounds plausible depending on the line level output of the console. You can't just use the console speaker jack and plug it into the Line-In jack on your PC. Check both your console and PC for the line level specs.

hey guys. I recently been having so many problems with audio sync issues when mounting a 3D image. Video plays fine in my media player. (have tried totalmediatheater and poweriso11 seems to be the best so far). anyway it seems like it plays fine in 2D but 3D is giving it audio sync issues. I think ive pinpointed the problem and ive found that disabling my motherboard audio driver (intel) and enabling nvidia audio seems to have a better effect in 3D playback (again mounting). ive tried a few different 3d image backups by the way, i also didnt have a problem with intel hd drivers playing 3D but intel drivers started to give me a BSOD which lead me to buy a nvidia card for 3D. So back to the issue. Is there a way to have both audio drivers installed becuase I switch from tv to monitor for display and I have external speakers that I would like to use instead of my tv audio. I also have the latest nvidia drivers, chipset drivers, directx and most up to date bios. im running windows 7 64bit, gigabyte mobo, geforce gt 520, 12gb ram, intel i5 2500. Also says nvidia hdmi output not plugged in, in windows sound properties if someone can explain that. sorry for such a long typed problem.

A:Having Issues with multiple audio drivers getting audio sync issues.

I have to enable intel driver then reboot so I can use my external speakers, any easier way without rebooting and keep switching audio drivers.

I bought a skype Everyman USB Headset and it was sent by Instore, both of them are shockingly horrendous for support, in fact i asked for a full refund and return delivery of product the product a week ago and I'm still awaiting feedback.

Basically when i plug it into my usb port, it plays for upto 30 seconds and begins to click, no other volume can be heard apart from this clicking noise, after a minute the headset disconnects altogether.

I have spent since start of January trying to mend this issue and have finally narrowed it down to a composite audio driver within vista called - Port_#0002.Hub_#0005

If i disable that driver, then the headset does not work at all which in one sense is great because it means i found the controlling audio driver for the headset.

I have Googled and Googled and cannot find an answer how to fix this.

Here is the community support request at Skype that i started, after being pushed off by Instore, i only provide this link for further information.

Everyman USB Headset - Skype Community

I have:
Vista Home Premium 32Bit SP2

I have tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling all audio driver,
Uninstall, disable old drivers and install a new standalone audio bus driver,
Tried using headset with XP laptop which worked fine with no issues at all
Smashing it against the wall repeatedly before using my head (kidding) lol

Any help or information from the great team here would be brilliant,
Thanks in advanced

A:Composite audio driver issues when using Skype usb headset

I got my refund and i get to keep the headset however i would like the headset to work, they are actually not bad, tried them in my laptop but i don't need them for my laptop (windows 7).

I tried copying over most of the drivers and reg keys to my pc but that did nothing at all....

Hello, Dell Community. I've recently bought a headset with a mic. I also have a headset splitter because theres only one audio jack and there was two cables one for mic and one for audio. Now when I plug it in a pop up comes up asking me the following. Is the device you just plugged into the jack Headphones, Headset, Skullcandy headset, etc. I select headset now the purpose that I bought this headset was recording with the mic in the headset so now I go to record and my dell laptop doesn't pick up the mic and it doesn't play audio. So I go to recording devices and I right click and press show disabled devices and disconnected devices and my headset doesnt show up on the list! So I go through and uninstall and install the drives which also doesn't work I've tried only using the mic plugin. and It doesn't detect it I need help! If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it I'm using a Dell Insprion 3521 Laptop Running Windows 10 64 bit.

hello, i have my gaming laptop, an asus g75 ,connected to a tv through hdmi as a 2nd screen and i also have my normal speakers plugged in through the headphone jack. i was wondering how i could split my audio? like if i want to have a movie playing on the TV for someone but i also want to play a game on PC with headphones in without hearing the movie thats playing on the other screen or hearing the game sounds over the movie, so far ive only figured how to get both audio channels playing at once through tv and speakers =/ what is a good program to use to do this? {preferably a free one)

I can't figure out how to fix this. I noticed that, when I'm watching a video, my headset's mic will relay the audio coming into my headset. Disabling Stereo Mix doesn't fix it. The physical controller that's on my headset cable doesn't stop it from happening, as even if I turn the volume knob all the way down and flick the mute switch, it's still picking up the audio. Muting my headset from within the computer stops the mic from hearing it, as does switching to my speakers that are plugged into the front jack. My headset is a 3.5mm jack type plugged into the back of the computer, directly into the motherboard.

I am knew on the board. Greetings

I installed a NEW Logitech USB Headset 350 onto my Winows XP Service Pack 2 generic 'puter.

I now have no speaker sound and no option shows except the headset and "Modem #1 line ".

It sorta looks like I have no speaker drivers .

Unplugging the headset does not help.

Anybody know how to fix this problem so I am not forced to wear a headset for audio ALL OF THE TIME ?

    HELP !

A:Installed new USB Headset NOW no speaker audio even if I unplug the headset

Yeah, my USB headset was a little weird at first as well.

Try going into your volume control (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Volume Control):
    1. Click Options
    2. Properties
    3. Change the mixer device from the USB headset to your speakers.

    Should work.

Also should note you can change the output settings in most audio software (for example: Windows Media Player, Winamp, etc.) so if you can't hear anything from your speakers when using those programs, try fiddling with those settings as well. I know for Winamp it's Options > Preferences > Plug-ins > Output > double-click the plug-in you use (mine is out_ds.dll) and again change it to your speakers using the drop down menu.

Hello! I have many multiple issues going on with my computer and I'm finally at my wits end! Now that I'm in school, I really need to rely on my computer for homework, etc. I really need some help! I can't afford a new computer or to have it fixed. Here is a list of whats going on.

    1. Whenever the computer restarts it takes about 10 minutes to get to the desktop after staring at a black screen with just my mouse on it. (A couple of months ago my computer wouldn't even load my desktop saying something like Windows Explorer had stopped working. I think I remember having to do a repair but I don't remember how to do that.)

    2. It is super slow and "Not Responding" shows up for everything I try to do on my computer (ex. click start, open Foxfire, open Aim, open WoW, any program really) **Edit** Now AIM opens and immediately closes.

    3. My sound turns off everytime the computer restarts. In the past, someone told me to just unplug my headset/speakers and plug it in and it will work, which it has, until today. The error I get for this is, "This computer cannot play audio because the Window Audio Service is not enabled." and "Failed to start the Windows Audio Service. Some Functionality will be... Is there any way to listen to two different audio feeds from my computer and be able to cut just one of them off as necessary with a keystroke? Here’s the deal, presently, I listen to a fire department live feed over a web site thru Widows Media Player 11, and at the same time, have the AOL radio station for Jazz on too, just for light background music. I can presently do that with no trouble, but is there any way to be able to, with a quick keystroke, control AOL’s music independently on/off as necessary? I know that I can go in and “X” out the AOL music, but I’m looking for a better solution. Thanks for help

Hi there. This past fall I took some online graphics courses through my local community college. As part of the course I was instructed to download Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash's 30 day trial versions. I did as instructed and everything went smoothly, until I went to uninstall. They refuse to be uninstalled. The mostl likely cause is that Adobe is so afraid that people are going to repeatedly install/uninstall the freeby version that they have gone to extreme measures to keep hackers from stealing their products. However, refusing to let the software be uninstalled has GOT to be against my civil liberties.

Aaaanyway, I have found a few threads on other forums relating to this issue and have tried the suggested thoughts on how to resolve this issue. Apparently this has been going on since at least CS2 and my install was CS5. However, none of the suggestions have worked. (And I'm not yet ready to wipe my hard drive clean as someone else had to do!)

It seems that the Adobe software(s) have hijacked my "Take Ownership" capabilities. I am unable to Take Ownership or change Permissions for these files/folders. I have done everything suggested from running CCleaner to manually trying to go into the Properties/Security options of each program and changing the Ownership back to the Administrator to no avail. As soon as I click ok, go out and back to Properties it has already defaulted back to "Trustedhandler." I also tried to manually change the entir... Read more

First of all i tried to run a SF_diagnostics scan but it gets an unhandled exception at "DxDiag".

Okay so I've been getting Blue screens for a while now and they've occurred irregularly however there are certain things that seem to "Speed up" the process...
for example when i try to play a decent game it runs it fine for 3/4 hours before BSOD-ing but when i play anything that's too demanding on specs like Battlefield 4, League Of Legends, or trying to render a video using Camtasia Studio 8 it just dies on me within the first 15 minutes.

I posted a thread about this a while back but no luck at all, things i tried included:
-Rolling back my Nvidia drivers to Stable builds
-Purchased and installed new graphics card
    -Re-seated processor
-Wiped and re-installed windows 7 several times from various copies
    -Re-seated RAM and swapped over
    -8 passes of Memtest86
-Monitored temperature of GPU and CPU with no abnormalities
-Full scan of Microsoft Security Essentials

Will attach some of the Dump files in a bit,
Any idea how top get SF_Diagnostic to work ?

Update: recently re-seated my Graphics card again and it's now running half of the things with no BSOD's this is great and all but the fact it still dies is annoying

the problem started with an infection of the "security suite" malware. after using mbam, as well as a host of other malware/virus programs, i believe i was able to keep it at bay, but i'm not entirely sure it's gone. i now have random commercials running at various times on my computer, seeming to come from nowhere, very odd. my printer printed 25 pages of an article the other morning at 3am & this morning, printed a "shopping cart" for $198.00 of Norton Security Suite, which i have not purchased, nor visited & neither of my other two computers were on during either of these events. i'm concerned that i haven't fully eliminated whatever was left over of this "security suite" software, or that i have some sort of trojan on the computer allowing access to other viruses. this is honestly the strangest behavior i've seen from any of my computers, so i'm turning to you for help.

I also receive Internet Explorer error windows asking me to either Continue or Cancel.I ran the recommended Anti-Malware software and that seem to just masque the problem. We've been running Windows 7 professional x64 and have been getting BSOD errors at various frequencies. However, I have noticed a few patterns:

    - It seems to occur when we run the bioinformatic Geneious software, we've tried reinstalling it but that was not successful. Since this is the most computationally taxing task we perform, it may not be exclusive to this program.

-Once in awhile we'll get a "Catalyst control center has stopped working" window popping up. This sometimes means that a BSOD is going to happen soon.

-Updating Windows has been a challenge. I've had to manually download a few packages and some flat-out do not work.

I am inexperienced in solving these types of problems so let me know if you need any additional information. I'll attach the output from the posting instructions diagnostic tool.

    Thank you!

Hi guys. I have my TV connected via HDMI through my video card to my computer and also run sound through my computers speakers with the onboard sound. Normally I just change the audio device before opening a program depending on whether I want it on the TV speakers or computer speakers. The problem is that sporadically when I select the device for the TV speakers it doesn't provide any sound and no combination of turning the TV on and off, changing the audio device back and forth etc will let give sound on the TV speakers (but when i change to the computer speakers it works fine). I can't seem to reproduce the problem either, it just happens sporadically and the only solution is to restart the computer.

I ran a full Malwarebytes scan, and it found a couple of objects which it removed.Files Detected: 2C:\ProgramData\doeR23dF.exe (Heuristics.Shuriken) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\0.645282714424513.exe (Heuristics.Shuriken) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. Then I ran Rooter. The log from Rooter seemed ok; nothing was found but there were several entries of the following type that seemed odd to me (although I freely admit that I don't know anything):______ ?????????? (5104)______ ?????????? (4132)______ ?????????? (4192)______ ?????????? (4380)______ ?????????? (4716)Finally I ran a scan with Hijack This. I will post the log below.I checked what processes were running on my computer, and found multiple instances of IE running, along with an executable called doeR23dF.exe. I never use IE, so I disabled it via the control panel. The random audio stopped. As of my last rebooting, Malwarebytes alerts me constantly (this happens about every minute or minute and a half) of the following malicious process being blocked:2012/06/22 02:31:14 -0400 LAPTOP Mick IP-BLOCK (Type: outgoing, Port: 59936, Process: svchost.exe)I posted about this last night, but in the wrong area, and Bleeping Computer staff directed me to the Preparation Guide. Greetings and Welcome to The Forums!!My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems.I have put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier and faster for both of usPlease do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.

Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Good morning

Recently had some malware/spyware problems that I thought I had cleaned up but have had persistant problems ever since. Most noticibly I get constant audio adverts playing in the background at odd intervals. These appear to be linked to iexplore.exe as the audio stops when ever I end the process in task manager. However, they pop back up again in task manager a few seconds later. I rarely if ever use internet explorer but these exe files are showing up regardless.

Not sure where to begin so hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure whether to system restore or fight to try and fix my laptop but here are the problems that I am aware of.

    - Recently the audio turns off randomly, USUALLY it turns off if I turn up the volume on the computer.
    - The laptop has been getting progressively slower over the years
    - The Icon Tray at the bottom, near the clock is broken, when I click the little arrow to expand, it takes about 10 seconds to load and then pops up as a huge, white, empty box. It takes a good few minutes for the box to close if I click on another window and the whole computer freezes up during that time.
    - When I go to "Folder Options" and then go to "View", the icon for "Files and Folders" is a black square, and where "Hidden files and folders" is, there is another black box next to that with the two options listed in caps lock; "NOHIDDEN" and "SHOWALL". Both of which are un-ticked and cannot be ticked (I can provide pictures for any of these claims if that helps, I'm not the best at articulation).

Over the years I've tried various methods to fix problems that I just pick up from the internet when others get help, I've never actually sought help that applies directly to me. Here are my FRST and Addition logs.

This thread is in regards multiple issues with my friends Laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

He's running an Inspiron 6000 which is pretty new and well taken care of.
For the past few months the Genuine Microsoft Software always prompts upon login as well as stays in the system tray. I remember going through this once a while back and clearing it through the Microsoft website, but it returned and now when I go to the website it appears 'approved' or 'cleared' so there's nothing left for me to do.

Why did this appear in the first place and how can we get rid of it.

Even more recently, specific websites on the computer will no longer load. I.E. Google, AOL, Myspace and so on...

I have read numerous threads regarding attempting to clear the cashe by ipconfig/flushdns and clearing your coockies and history. Also change the security settings and attempting to turn off the firewall.

When we used www.sureproxy.com the websites loaded, but this is only a temporary solution to the problem.

When I went in and turned off the firewall, and then clicked back in the red shield in the system tray, the firewall setting appeared ON. How can we disable that if it's going to solve the issues.

The reason I'm putting these issues together, is because we believe they may be related to one another.

I did run Hijackthis which cleared some of the issues, but it didn't really do anything.

Sigh... that is all. Please help us if... Read more

Please post back here with a link to your new topic.

Hey all, my Dell i7559 (Windows 10) seems to have no stock way of controlling the fans so I've been using software (mostly SpeedFan) to control and set profiles for the two fans. This has worked great for cooling but I've been having audio problems since then such as frequent audio popping and awful audio artifacts. I know for a fact SpeedFan and Argus Monitor both cause these problems. I found a post from like 2007 saying to run SpeedFan with the /NOSMARTSCAN command but that did not fix anything. Are there any alternatives to these fan controllers or ways to fix them? Thanks.

What has happened? and any ideas on how to fix it?

EDIT: Everything works fine in Safe Mode

    Probably a virus or trojan.

Install malwarebytes antimalware in safe mode with networking, update and scan.
Then use Dr web, cureit to scan for viruses.

That's basically what i do, but no guarantee though. Better prepare for complete installation again :/

    I own a Dell XPS 15, with 4K screen (touchscreen), 1TB SSD, 16GB Ram and GTX960M.
I have several Issues with the laptop, concerning both the audio and the general usage of it.
For the audio, it works fine until I plug my headphones in and out again. After plugging my headphones out, there is no audio what so ever and when i plug my headphones back in there is no audio either. I tried connecting to a Bluetooth device and this works fine. However, I have several high quality non-Bluetooth headphones which I would like to use without having to restart my laptop every single time.
The general problems are a bit more concerning to me as one of them is about overheating my laptop.
After I close the lid of my laptop and put it in my bag I would assume that it is sleeping and that nothing will happen. However, several times when I take the laptop out of my bag it is super hot and I can almost not touch it. The fans are and processor are maxed out for some reason but when I turn my laptop back on there is nothing working on the background.
The other general issue I have is which I am guessing is with my windows software. When I am at my desktop, or at any screen for that matter, my windows key on my keyboard does not work, I cannot left-click any icons on the right bottom of my screen and the "menu" does not pop-up when I slide my finger from the right hand-side of the screen towards the middle. I can only suggest that you should always shut down your laptop before you put it in a bag, the heat will eventually kill your hard drive. Closing your lid means it is on in sleep mode so there will be power going to the motherboard. Do a cold boot and your desktop icons and touchpad should be back to normal.  You should change the setting on what to do when you close the lid, set it shut down.

I've been having trouble getting clear audio consistently with my new headset on my laptop which is currently running Windows 7. I have tried reinstalling the driver, restarting my laptop, combinations of restarting and reinstalling driver, replacing the headset (before I realised it was a computer problem), even flashed the BIOS to see if that would help, also tried using different USB ports, nothing has fixed it and if it does it lasts 5 minutes before it starts to crackle and sound quality degrades again. I cannot think of anything else that I can do to fix this. I have looked for a fix on Logitech's website which directed me to Microsoft but none of the solutions posted has fixed the problem. Headset works perfect on boyfriends computer, also running Windows 7, and my boyfriends headset (same as mine) has the same problem when plugged in to my laptop. Any help would be appreciated.

I am using the classic folder settings in XP and IE 6, single click to select, double to open, but even though I haven't changed that setting, folders are often, but not always, opening with a single click.

The problem comes when I am trying to select multiple folders for copying, using the control key. I can usually get 2 or 3 folders selected, and then it opens each one of the folders. All I want to do is select them, not open them I can only guess that somehow IE is reverting to the single click to open setting.

However, i am not able to click the windows that pop up. The only way for me to navigate between windows is by using Alt+Tab all the time which is frankly really annoying.

    The cause:
I have yet to observe an actual trigger for this problem.
It works properly for some time after rebooting/restarting explorer, but will eventually start causing this problem.

A decent workaround i am using is dropping the explorer process and restarting it.
While this works, the problem will reoccur within 1-2 hours just like rebooting the PC.
A bunch of windows close by sinking explorer, which is extremely annoying for me since i use alot of folder tabbs.

    Extra info:
When dragging the mouse over windows opened after clicking on the taskbar, they do not light up as clickable items when this error is going on.
    Windows 7 64Bit Home premium.
I update drivers regulary so i doubt that's the problem.

    Any help is appreciated,
If you need any more info i'm happy to oblige.

    Thank in advance

    Is this possible?

    Such as:

Ctrl+c copies first object (or text)
Holding down a key (let's say, Shift) along with Ctrl+c copies second object
    Ctrl+v pastes first object
    Shift+Ctrl+v pastes second object

    Or some other method.

A:Multiple items in the Windows clipboard?

Cute idea but how would you select from the multiple items?

Their are several ( Free ) programs available to handle multiple
clipboard items. Just try Google. Many different ways to do it,
    depending on what you need.

    Currently Im getting this :
    I Have another

I want to do one to many relationship with customer details and order no but before I can do that I am trying to add another order for the same customer but I keep getting that error message... anyhelp???

    A:Access Multiple items relation help

Hi 1nstan7, welcome to Windows 7 Forums.

Your Access problem is caused by your Order ID using a No Duplicates setting. This will not allow you to re-enter the same Order No. more than once.
You need to Open Tables in the Design View & reset Order ID to Duplicates Allowed. However it might be better to call it Order No. & allow Duplicates. It's best to use indexing as this speeds up data searches in the future, so don't use the No Indexing option.
Also you may want to add a column that shows which Customer that Order No. belongs to. As the same Customer will no doubt need to be entered many times with a new Order No. set it up with Duplicates Allowed.
Using the term ID in column description can be confusing if you are using an Auto Number for each entry.

If you need more help just ask. A layout of your main Table would certainly help, so a screen shot of that would help if you need more assistance.

    Okay, here's the deal:

I was doing my usual run of the show online scan from Panda Security. After it got done, I looked up the file locations for the crap it found (3 trojans, yay.) and deleted the files, one was reader_s.exe (I later found out was a worm) and the other (don't remember the third) was my user32.dll file.

No need to tell me I'm stupid, I've learned my lesson. I deleted it, not realizing the importance of this file.

Next startup, it won't run, bluescreen telling me it needs the user32.dll file. I research, find out my stupidity, copy over user32.dll file from XP service pack 1a disc. Starts up.

When it starts up, I either get a "Memory too low" message, or an "Object name not found." lsass.exe message. Another time I startup, I get the W32.Blaster worm message
    "System Shutdown
This shutdown was initiated by NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM Windows must now restart because the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly."

I look that up, another worm. Great.

THE HELP I NEED IS HOW TO GET THE PATCHES/REMOVALS to get these things out of there. When I start up, Windows will NOT come up at ALL, no icons, no start bar, no Win+E no CTRL+ALT+DEL, nothing. Could a professional take care of it? Can I possibly have some kind of thorough advice on ways to solve this problem without trashing the computer? I already had most files backed up (as to keep my computer running smooth, since it's 3+ years old, I kept... Read more

While running a full system scan AVG found the following:
(There may have been a few others as well.)

I removed them from my system, then ran CCleaner, but I think I may still have problems. The reason I say this is that I still have some odd things (rundll32.exe files located in temp folders) in my startup tasks that I can't stop from running on startup.

I have included my HJT logfile. Many thanks in advance for the help.

When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy the entire report and paste it in your next reply with a new Hijackthis log.
