I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi Folks

This is my first post on the Windows 7 Forums I hope General Discussions is the correct place for my post.

I will shortly be getting a new desktop pc with windows 7 home premium 64 bit. It will have Microsoft office Outlook 2010 on it.
This will replace my current computer which has Outlook 2003.

Is there a way of transferring my saved emails from Outlook 2003 on my old pc to outlook 2010 on my new pc?

Also I currently have 3 email accounts. Is it possible to configure Outlook 2010 to be able to view emails from 3 different email accounts?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

A:How do I transfer emails from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2010

Hello Richard and welcome to Seven Forums.

I'm not a fan of Outlook so I don't have a lot of experience with it. Having said that, I remembered an old Microsoft Answers forum thread about moving 2003 .pst files over to 2010. The first answer by Russ Valentine should still be valid. One suggestion if I may. Before attempting to move any emails I think it would be helpful to back them up, make a system image, do something to protect them should the unthinkable happen.

Moving Outlook 2003 Data Filses to Outlook 2010 - Microsoft Answers

There's a separate Seven Forums category for "Browsers & Mail" about half way down on the home page. You may get some better repsonses and suggestions if you ask one of the Forum Moderators or Admin to move this thread over. In the upper right corner of your original post is a red triangle. If you click on that you should get a dialog box where you can ask that the thread be moved.

If you move everything to the inbox, and choose to retrieve all in the pop settings it will retrieve all of it. Then setup your outlook like you want it

I was just thinking, use windows live mail, set up IMAP and add your gmail account. Then you can move all the email to your live email, and it will show in outlook.com too

A:Import email to Microsoft Outlook - problem

Have you tried adding the backup PST files as secondary data files. Once you do this you can view them and move the emails over to the new PST file.

To add the backup PSTs, go to the Tools menu and choose 'Options'. When the setup screen opens, go to the 'Mail Setup' tab and then click on 'Data Files'. Depending on your version, there should be an 'Add' button either on the right side of the setup screen or on the top. Click 'Add' and navigate to where you have stored your backup PSTs. Choose the PST with your previous email. After you have added the data file (PST), close the setup menus and check your folder list. You should see a new "Personal Folders" added to the bottom of the folder view list. Expand it and you should see your old emails. You can then highlight and drag them to your new Inbox.

Hope this helps you retrieve your email.

I have been using Outlook for 6 years now and think it is great. I have run into a problem and I hope somebody might be able to help me out. I have three machines that I want to share the same identical pst and rules files. I have been able to import the .pst without any problems but the rules will not import properly. I used the rules wizard to export my rules to the default .rwz file on the original machine. When I try to import the rules I get an error stating that some options within the rules have not been set. After I exit and go back into Outlook the rules are there but are all highlighted in red. None of them work and the "specified" folder has been reset to "specified" instead of the folder specified on the original PC.
Can anyone point me to a thread or provide me with help on getting these rules to import correctly?

How do I merge these files with the Outlook Express files on her laptop, so that these 7 years worth of emails are on available to Outlook Express on her laptop?

A:Transfer old, saved emails from one computer to another(Outlook Express) (RESOLVED)

Hi and Welcome to TSF

These links should set you on your way

Or you can try the Backup Wizard
You can transfer your email messages manually, using the Import / Export commands of Outlook Express, but transferring other settings such as accounts, rules, signatures, and identities is a very complicated process that requires advanced technical skills. Outlook Express Backup Wizard makes it very simple to transfer your data by following these easy steps:

1. Backup your Outlook Express with Outlook Express Backup Wizard.
2. Copy the resulting backup file to the target computer via LAN, CDR, or removable drive.
3. Restore the backup file to Outlook Express on the second computer. To do this, run the wizard, choose the Restore option, and select your backup file.

A:IE8 / Outlook Express6

Should be no problem. You could uninstall OE6 by going to Control Panel, Add Remove - select "Add/Remove Windows Components" remove the tick by "Outlook Express" - Next.

Before you do this make sure you have your OS disk. Close down the PC, reboot, Go back to CP - AR - ARWC - put a tick in the "OE" box. The pc will ask you to put the OS into the Rom Drive and install a new copy of Outlook E.

Hope this helps.

I recently discovered a 175Kb file with no extension and just a tilde sign ~ on my C directory. Even though I've all files set as unhidden this one only shows up in the open dialog of certain programmes, and not in Windows Explorer itself. After weeks of deleting it and re-checking, I know it only appears when I add a new contact to my address book in OE6.

I "peeked" at the binary code of the file and it was a list of my contacts and this sclid: 3A9694-667E-11d1-9DFB-00609.

Is this file just normal activity by OE6 address book?

I run Spybot, Spyblaster, Adaware SE, firewall and anti virus. The only symptom is that every now and then OE6 seems to stall until I log off and log on again.

Here's my HijackThis log (I'm sure it hasn't got anything new).

I have had to to a complete reinstall of XP on my pc (hard drive failure)

I have managed to load all my accounts and the mail history - couldnt find the message rules folder, so if anyone wants a pile of unused offers to increase your d*ck size, I'll pass them on....

This has left me with one problem - my wife and I have separate accounts, and some people send mail to both of us. How do I get one copy of those mails to each folder? I used to have it happening, so I know it can be done. Trouble is, I can't remember how. Message rules send both emails to her folder at the moment.

A:Outlook Express6 And Accounts

The easiest way to get messages to the proper folder:Set up seperate user accounts on your computer. Each of you will have your own desktops, which can be customized the way you want it.You'll have seperate areas for files, folders, and documents. The new user can easily move his/her folders and files to the new account. Set up Outlook Express for you on your desktop, and for your wife on hers.OR you could forget about the message rules, and set up a new identity in OE.To create a new identity, instructions here:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/209169

Have i set my security to high ? I`ve got AVG virus control+Zonealarm 3.1.395 . Restricted sites are set 2 DISABLED . Thanx in advance people ! Dean

A:Outlook Express6 unsafe attachments?

Outlook Express has an option you can check/uncheck for removing attachments and yours might be checked. It's in tools, options, security tab. See where it says 'do not allow attachments to be opened or saved that could potentially contain a virus". When I had that box checked, it stopped almost all attachments, even the ones I wanted.

I think if you have zone alarm and AVG, you don't need to have that checked anyway.

Using outlook express you can have multiple email addresses setup. Example when you open Outlook Express, it will be one identity then there is a button to change your identity and go to another email address to recieve your email from there. If I remember rightly you can do this for five email addresses.

I'm presuming you know who to setup Outlook express, if not click here:

Since I upgraded my OS from Win Me to XP Home, I have had some issues with Outlook Express 6. I have a home email account that works properly thru there sending & receiving. I also have 3 hotmail addy's that I run thru there as well.

The problem is with the hotmail addresses only. It checks and downloads mail properly for these accounts, but will not send mail using these accounts. This has only started since upgrading to XP. I have deleted the accounts and added them again and it hasn't helped.

This is the error I get all the time.....

The server does not support the required HTTP methods. Account: 'aKa_Insomniac', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Method Not Allowed', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC35
I had to reinstall my Norton personal Firewall/Systemworks with the XP upgrade, but the internet access control shows Outlook Express has permission to access the net. And once again, it downloads my hotmail incoming mail properly. Only outgoing mail is the problem.

Any help given would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !

A:Microsoft Outlook Won't Save Sent Emails

Your SENT ITEMS folder probably has a size limit set on it. Try moving or deleting some of the existing items in the SENT ITEMS folder to another folder and see if the problem persists. How many emails are in the folder presently?

If that doesn't work you may want to try re-creating your Outlook profile.

I formatted my hard drive to reinstall windows xp. I took a whole day to make sure that I had everything backed up...I thought. I imported the pst file that I had saved for my Microsoft Outlook 2000 emails and it only contained my inbox emails. I had a lot of subfolders with emails that I have received for my business for the last three years. After I got done kicking myself for not clicking the "include subfolders" box before I saved the pst file, I realized that I could use Easeus Partition Master to recover the pst file from before the format. After Easeus finished recovering the image, I recovered the outlook.pst file from C:\Documents and Settings\*my name*\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook, I imported it into Microsoft Outlook and set back watching it load thinking I was really smart. When it got done, I still only had my inbox emails and it didn't recover all the subfolders with the three years of emails. I clicked "include subfolders" when I was importing. The data size of the pst file was similar to the size of the contacts.pst file and sentitems.pst that I saved. It seems that the subfolders weren't in the outlook.pst from before. Does anyone know if Microsoft Outlook stores subfolders in a different .pst file? I think I could recover them with Easeus if I can just find them. Somebody please help if you can.
