Any idea on what it is WAP.exe (windows access panel) ? Is it really a Windows software ? I have found different readings about it. It appears in some internet places like something dangerous to have in your PC.
Thanks for your insight,

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
I read an article that IPV4 addresses are running out and that some crisis is about to present itself concerning IPV4 addresses. Frankly, I have little-to-no understanding of what this means. I have only uninformed guesses what it means to run out of IPV4 addresses.
Here's the article: http://www.infoworld.com/print/121729
I don't need to know about the black market aspect of it. I guess I just need to know what IPV4 is and IPV6 is and how running out of those addresses matters to me.
IPV4 is the present standard used to assign addresses to computers
and servers on the internet.
Each computer has an IP address.
It's like a phone number for each computer.
When you view a web page,it connects to that servers IP.
The domain name is assigned to that IP address.
Running out of IPV4 addresses shouldn't be a major problem
as IPV6 is already in place to extend the number of available addresses.
The modem you use to connect to the internet more than likely
is assigned an IPV4 IP address by your internet provider.

I can't search for my problem because I don't know what it is.
I have windows XP on my HP laptop. I am not hardware or software savvy so I need help. Someone told me I am running on RAM only because I can't boot certain programs and that I have a widows media plug-in problem but I don't understand what to do about it. I also get a wm_exe error.
This problem has appeared. I try to boot Dreamweaver8 or other programs (NOT ALL programs) and I get the following error (and cannot boot the program) seen here in the screen capture I uploaded http://mallee.biz/images/dreamweavererror.jpg
I tried restoring to 2 weeks ago. I tried uninstall and reinstall.
I have also ran the latest AVG, No Adaware, and a microsoft product 'malicious software tool' and FOUND no problems.
I did buy and run Registry Booster 2 and found 1,600..... YES, that many problems and fixed them.
(Also about a week ago when I had booted up my laptop I got a blue screen stating it had to perform sometype of SDK scan? Something like that, and it removed/deleted tons of files. It would not let me bootup unless I allowed it to do this so I was forced into doing it)
Can someone point me in the right direction please?
Since yest, I keep getting this message when I turn on my computer.
Wireless WLAN card Wireless Network controller stopped working.
Not sure what it means or what I have to do?
Thanks for any help
Good ol Vista "stopped working". Just like everything else in Vista.

It means precisely what you already suspected: two computers belonging to the same network or domain cannot have the same name. You have to rename one or another.

Read other 5 answersHi guys,
may be a very silly question but i really dont know what does FX means regarding graphics cards. Like mine is AGP 128mb 5200 fx. they also come in 6600fx, 7400fx etc etc. so what does FX denotes here??
thanks in advance
AND PLZ DONT MAKE FUN OF ME..........PLZZZZZZZZZ
I would say that it is just the graphic card series "identification". I don't think it really means anything. FX is just one of the many series names, like GT and GS. I could be wrong but that is what I would say it means.

I have no clue as to how to handle this.
Hey,
The battery on your motherboard is probably dead. You will need to replace it. Its flat, round and silver/shiny in color. If you don't know where it is on your motherboard then look in your motherboard user guide, it should be able to pinpoint it for you. When you do take it out, make sure your computer is turned off and unplugged from the wall. Then you can take the battery to any jewlery or watch repair place to get the correct replacement.

Hello and thanks for taking the time to read this.
At a minimum of once a week I run the spyware, adware, malware, and antivirus programs, I don't think my computer is infected but I really don't know for sure. I came across the Hijack this program and ran it, a whole lot of things showed up and I don't know what to make of any of it, so I followed the advice of not deleting anything without first asking somebody who does know what it means.
Again, Thank you for your time and help

HotSpot must have found a virus, so you should go to their web site and look for a removal process.
OK.
Problem is : My computer freezes whenever I play music and run any program, mostly the internet (Mozilla or IE)
I just got my harddrive wiped because of viruses, so I thought the problem would go away. Truth is, the computer still freezes. My brother thinks its a Codec problem or something to that effect, but I don't know. I checked Event Viewer and it said this :
The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal processing. HRESULT was C0000005 from line 44 of d:\qxp_slp\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services to report this error.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks.
Hollur!
I googled the error line, surprisingly enough it returned several leads. One exact: http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:HM_sM8H...mobj.cpp.&hl=enSeveral related: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=qxp_s...G=Google+SearchThe exact one seems to blame win XP SP2, and is a year old.I'm hoping you can make some progress by reading about it, perhaps something will "click" or you'll find additional or similar symptoms might tip you to a more definate cause/solution. Do you have internet connectivity? Can anything be done that will "unfreeze" the computer? At what action point does it freeze? You say any program, mostly your browsers, but what can you do without compromise?

Hey peoPlz...Hope u guyz cAn helPz....well recently when i have been playing games my comp has restarted...so i had a look to see what the prob is...., what i got was the image below of hardware conflicts, its seems there are quite a few...does anyone know what these mean???, and what solutions should i take to resolve these problems.
I have
P4 1.7, 256 Ram, not sure if ddr or sd, LG 24 x 10 x 40 burner and a samsung DVD player. Got a gf2 mx 440, which isn't that good, and it also seems to be causing most of the conflicts. If any one could help it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Matt
So, my Nvidia card using coolbits overclocking tweak shows me this information on my graphic card
Why is it the OS thinks the AGP is at 2X ???
anyone see same type of thing
what do you make of it
is there some sort of fix for this.
I have the same thing using my
MSI board using GF6600 card
ASUS board using Ti4200 card
I have only heard of 8x card going down 4x when the AGP slot does not support it. The only thing I think of to suggest is you check you motherboards manual.

Hi ~
Does anyone know what the following message means...where it came from...and how it can be fixed??? It started about 3-4 days ago....only thing different about computer is that our internet was down for a bit due to a big storm we had...?
The instruction at "0x014d3195" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".
I don't know if this is serious or not...but not a message I've ever seen before!
Thanks so much to anyone who can help!!
Cheers,
Donna
im playin tf2 with my new nvidia 7600 graphics card but when i tried to get on the screen goes black and a box appears and it says out of frequency and i cant see anything i can hear but i cant see anything from the game
The box is most like being created by your monitor saying that it can not support the operating frequency of the video signal being fed to it by the graphics card.
If the monitor only displays that message when you try the one game, the game may be adjusting the graphics card to settings that are not supported by the card.
Does anyone know what this error message means, how I can prevent it from happening & why it is happening??
I get this message when I try to run some of the games or game demos I download from Pogo, Yahoo etc.
" Error: Access Violation at 0x6900d96F(tried to read from 0x417A998), program terminated "
What does it mean, someone has got to know. I need help so I can fix the problem.

I just bought a Sony HR550 and it says in the manual
This camcorder captures high definition footage in the AVCHD format. DVD media containing AVCHD footage should not be used with DVD based players or recorders, as the DVD player/ recorder may fail to eject the media and may erase its contents without warning. DVD media containing AVCHD footage may be played on a compatible Blu-ray Disc player/recorder or other compatible device.Click to expand...
Put that in more simple terms for me to understand.
I can copy the movie to a DVD, but it has to be played on a Blu-ray player?
I can't play it in a standard DVD player?
What if I format it as a QuickTime movie before burning it to a DVD, then will it work in a DVD player?
The text is confusing!
A HDD I installed as an extra drive,I have C drive and it is G, is unallocated. It says it's healthy and I am using it,mainly for music.I have the odd problem where it disappears from MY Computer and windows explorer. The amount of free space is correct.Need I be concerned with allocating it,whatever that means?Or should I leave well enough alone?
Oh, I have also run sfc /scannow and did a chkdsk on both C and D drives. All seems ok but I'm certainly no expert on this. This is a new learning experience for me,a long learning experience
I was surfing the net and seen this notepad icon and clicked it and dont know what it means.

Not entirely sure but do you have Tune Up Utilities?
Or perhaps Delphi software?
If so, this may be the source if the problem.
