I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Does these freezes appear when doing something specific on your machine?
Have you updated your drivers lately?

Try going to cmd (press start-orb and search 'cmd') and type this message and notice any outdated drivers:

Windows 7 ultimate x64.

My rig was running fine until I went digging into the installed windows updates section.

I uninstalled an update not verified by windows and THEN installed the infamous KB2670838 because it was a known solution game fix for Carmageddon Max Damage. It failed anyway.

Now in my event viewer I'm getting tons of fatal Schannel errors. Also encountered a BSOD MEMORY_MANAGEMENT which I think is a failing PSU. Rebooting is a gamble as sometimes I have to run the repair module.

I do NOT have the schannel update installed nor the KB2670838 update any longer. I have ran SFC/SCANNOW a few times and nothing was irregular.

I have ordered an EVGA GQ 1000 PSU which will arrive in a week if anyone agrees that my current PSU, a kentec chinese firecracker bargain, is the cause for some of my issues.

HP Connection Manager consistently indicates Fatal Error and must be closed manually after Windows 10 start up.  Everythings else work perfectly following Windows 10 upgrade except this HP error.  There is no HP support information to assist in eliminating this annoyance.  Hello? - Is there anyone home in HP technical support?  Is it time to switch from HP to a decently supported brand for an upcoming purchase of new laptop?

Hi everyone,
This morning I turned on my PC (Windows 7 x64) and I get this blue screen error STOP:c000021a [FATAL SYSTEM ERROR].
I can't even get passed the starting windows screen it just keeps on rebooting then getting blue screen again. I've tried safe mode and last known configuration point. Both just give me blue screen after the drivers are loaded. Haven't installed anything new recently so I don't know what the cause of this problem could be. I apparently have no system restore points even though Norton would make them every scan. I can get to command prompt and that is the only thing I can get to. Is there a way I can fix this through command prompt. I think I've attached the screen it gives me and that's all I know.

I ran a zonealarm scan and It found a few viruses and spyware. I quarantined or deleted them, but I was still getting

For those that have the same issue and that cannot susbcibe to teh service, just ignore the error popup message and continue to the subscribe process (make sure to have the whole window displayed). You should normally end the process and after reboot connect to the service using standard network service provided by windows 7 in place of the buggy HP connection manager applications.

A:Fatal error in HP Connection Manager

Hi, Try the following. Open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry for HP Connection Manager and select Uninstall - when this has completed, restart the notebook. When windows has reloaded, Install the .net framework 3.5 sp1 on the following link. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=25150 When done, restart the notebook. Then install HP Software Framework on the link below. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55271.exe When done, restart the notebook. Download and reinstall HP Connection Manager from the link below. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54501-55000/sp54945.exe Again, when this has completed, restart the notebook. Regards, DP-K

A:Fatal error HP connection manager.exe

Hi, Support for Hp Connection Manager ended with Windows 7.  I'd guess this was largely due to the fact that its main function ( the ability to control Wireless and Bluetooth radios independently ) was integrated in the OS from Windows 8 onwards. You should just be able to uninstall this from its entry in Programs and Features. I've seen people who've successfully managed to load this software on Windows 10 by installing it via the hidden Admin account, but as it doesn't offer anything you don't already have, I don't really see the point. Regards, DP-K

I get this pop up message Setup.exe Fatal Error: 80004005 code when I try to download Trademaven.com onto my computer. My PC is a desktop I've had since 2004, Systemax from Global Direct. It broke last year and I couldn't fix it so I got a new laptop. But now I got it running again. Found out the monitor died. R&R monitor now it's working again but it is not letting me download certain programs. It let me download Hijackthis, and I ran it and made a copy of the log. Would this help? I don't know how to interpret the data. I hooked up an HP officejet 4200 printer today, and installed a second monitor; I recieved a VDI to VGA adapter I needed today. I also had problems with the computer locking up whenever it sat idle for a short time, but I downloaded a free registry cleaner yesterday called Eusing Free Registry Cleaner and my PC no longer locks up. OS: Win XP with SP 3 installed I've googled the error message but I was unable to find anything I could use to fix this. Thanking you in advance for any help you can offer. Joe

Hi jcali -First I would go to Control Panel > Add Remove and make sure all traces of the Trademaven.com program are removed, just to be safe -I found this quote on that company during the time I was researching it -Trademaven TPT is it a scam? Sure seems like it?They use the address of the Chicago Board of Trade, which is a valid and existing address, but there is no mention of any 'business' named 'Trademaven' operating there. It's just trying to 'legitimatize' him by using a known address. There was an article with it (a bit long to post here) but if I am wrong please tell me now so that I can rephrase this answer - Do not post any logs etc, here unless you think there may be infections involved and I can redirect the post -You can run a disk check also with this code below - Copy/paste it in the Run Box, close all open programs and the computer will reboot in 30 seconds after you click on OK -CMD /C ECHO Y|CHKDSK C: /R | SHUTDOWN /R /T 30This will take 30 to 45 mins to run, so please let it finish its 5 stage check/repair -Thank You -

I can't get anywhere into Windows, I've done F2, F8, F12, everything I could think of without risking more damage since I'm not trained for this. I've booted from the system mechanic CD with the Hard Drive recovery, and while it said it found and fixed a problem, it didn't fix this one. I have no windows CD. The computer is a Dell, and it's running Windows XP service pack 2 with Explorer 6. Heeeeeelp! Other than the F keys, I can't get anywhere with this computer.

The second laptop on my house (Toshiba Satellite A300) has been disabled due to a fatal error.
I searched around and it is supposedly associated with drivers, which fits the problem.
According to the person that used the computer:
Upon plugging in a new music player (mp4) and seeing what seemed like a correct install, the computer was turned off. Full battery.
The next morning, after turning on the computer, now apparently with a completely drained battery.
The error appeared and after going through the system repair menu, that didn't solve anything, the computer prompted the user to "disconnect the driver/music player" and reboot.
It did not work.
System restore doesn't work either and the only options left are the command line and the HDD clean up.

Any ideas?

What version of Windows (your profile says XP, but this is a Vista/Win7 forum)

Try Startup Repair 3 times (with player not connected):

Other things to try:

Hello, as of the last three weeks, I've noticed windows (XP) restarting out of the blue, especially when i logged on. At first i thought it might be the fact that I'm typing the wrong password but then i recived a windows has survived a fatal error. At first i shrugged it off and hoped that because it survived it would be fine. Of course i recived it again yesterday so i went into details which was barely any help but to give me the name if the problematic files.
1) C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini042204-01.dmp
2) C:\DOCUME~1\user\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER9.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml

I did a search on both, the first appears to be of unknown origin, I'm figuring spyware or some kind of garbage. The second however appears to be a a driver or something of signifiance. I went to microsfts web site to see how to solve it. In the article i had read it said that i should try to rollback the driver, but i don't know what driver to roll back. It also told me to do a sys restore, which i dearly want to avoid. Please help, I don't want to have to take this thing into the morons who put it together. (which is one of he possible causes for this problem, poorly installed hardware or drivers) Thanx tech support guy!

hello. i've been having some major issues recently which i initially thought was software related, but i'm now thinking it may be hardware related.

last week i tried turning on my pc, but instead of booting normally, it would stop after the windows loading screen and just reset. so it was basically a boot/reset loop which i had no control over. i tried fixing this by booting in safe mode and restoring windows to a previous state. i was able to boot windows normally by doing this, but it still wasn't quite right - everything seemed very slow.

i decided to reinstall windows this weekend. first attempt seemed to go smoothly enough, but once it had completed the installation and after it had been running for a few hours i was starting to get problems. when i rebooted once after installing some software/drivers, it came up with a message saying that it had had to replace some registry data (or something like that) and also came up with some language error.

i thought this was all very strange, so i decided to give it another fresh install. however, on the second attempt, when it got to 39mins remaining on the install, it came up with this:

The signature for windows xp home edition setup is invalid. The error code is 800b0100.

No signature was present in the subject.

Fatal error:

Setup failed to install the product catalogs. This is a fatal error. The
setup log files should contain more information.

i have since tried to install again, but when i tr... Read more

A friend called me last night desperate. She is leaving town to go home in 2 days and her PC shut down last night. Every time she re-boots she receives a BSOD with the C0000021a error. I have tried SAFE mode to no avail, and also attempted to boot using last know good config. No good. I also tried the "Repair the Computer" option during boot. Nothing is working.
I have also attempted CHKSDK /f and even though it found and corrected errors, the same BSOD appears.
We do not have the original PC disks as they are at her home.
The PC is a Dell Laptop. I'm currently offloading her files to an external drive via KNOPPIX so that at least we save her documents, pictures and music. Please help me try to get the PC operational again.

Hi, I was running my Laptop( HP Compaq nx6125, AMD 64 Turion) and think it's been infected with virus. I'm not sure whats happened but Java kept opening automatically, so I restarted the laptop and the problem persisted. It was rather annoying so I decided I would reinstall windows XP service pack 2, as I have the disk.

I had been through the first parts of the setup process, then, once it became time to restart the laptop, an error message appeared from the system setup log saying

ERROR: Installation Failed - D:\I386\asms

Error Message: Access is denied.

Fatal Error: One of the components windows needs to continue setup could not be installed. Access is denied.

I've come across a few sites and I'm wondering if there anything I could possibly download in order to fix my problem, and then load it onto disk and then onto the laptop in order to reset it in some way ?? I'm thinking I need to reformat the whole hard drive, is this the case, or would I be able to save certain files ??? I've seen software available like FreeDOS and e-maxx, but I'm not quite sure what these do or how to work them either..I'm really stuck, and suck...please!!

Any help would be much appreciated!

I have a Sony Vaio PCV-rz30cg computer that hadn't been used for some time and decided to put it back into use. I couldn't get Windows to load, and since I had no data on the computer that I needed to recover, I reformated the hard drives to reinstall Windows XP. I couldn't find my original disks, so I bought a new XP disk. When I did the install, I got an error that says that no signature is present, the data is invalid, and has the error code 800b0100.

A:Fatal Error during installation of Windows XP

Upon booting with the windows disk and going through those early steps, delete the partition, then start over by installing a new partition.
Then format the drive.
Once formatted, the rest of the install will take care of itself.
But spend some time to search for and download all the drivers, unless you have a complete set of the drivers for that model.

EDIT: Moveds to Vista from AII~~boopmeHey all,so yesterday the Windows Explorer on my Vista started acting up. Every time I right-click an icon on my desktop or in one of my folders it gives me a fatal error and restarts. I've had this computer for two years now and have never encountered this error before. Specific Error Text: Fatal Error Windows Explorer cannot open this program because the "Resources" directory or one of its sub-directories is missing. Please try re-installing the software. My computer Specs:OS: Windows Vista Home Premium (SP2)Processor: 2.25 GHz quad-core (AMD I believe)Hard Drives: 2 drives, 144 GB each (one is about half full)RAM: 3 GBVideo Card: ATI X1250Programs Normally On: Glary Utilities, Norton Internet Security 2011 (free trial), Hamachi, Windows Live Messenger, and usually Firefox. What I've tried:-ShellExView (I disabled all non-microsoft content; did not help)-Restarting the computer and switching users (had no effect)-Changing Windows Aero settings (dunno why I tried this, but it didn't work in any case)-Looking this up online (found almost no information and every instance I found had to do with malware)-Antivirus scan (has found nothing as of yet, though I will be trying a more detailed scan tonight)EDIT: Have also tried:-Safe mode (still the same, so that confirms the theory that it's not a bad driver or something like that)-Full system AV scan (still nothing apparently, though I have a report saved up if anyone wants to see it)-Sy... A:Windows XP not loading due to fatal error?!?!

Go to:

Start > Run

and type:

Press enter.

A black window should appear. Type

sfc /scannow

Press enter.

You might need your Windows XP CD, so have it handy. It may take a while for the scan to complete, but it is important to let it run completely.

I have vista home premium and a brand new PC.Lately i found out that my original windows installer is ruined. When i tried to fix it from the set up, i get the message "installation ended prematurely because of an fatal error".So,that's it,doesn't let me do anything, nor uninstall it,nor reinstall an updating version, anything at all...
Additional when i try to install any programm which needs the windows installer i get the same stupid message :windows installer service could not be accesed. This can occur if the windows installer is not correctly installed.(of course fool machine,i know, you didn't install it correctly).
As you can understand this is a problem and the windows don't let me fix it.I can't imagine any other way except to restore the whole system with my recovering dvd's and start it from the begining.
By the way,i have to say, that everything else in my PC works fine and fast.
No registry problems,no bugs, nothing at all.
can anybody think something?
i would appreciate that
