I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have an ASUS maximus VII here that I have been very happy with so far. By far one of my favorite boards to date. I am running dual GTX 780s on it and am looking to expand to 3gtx 780s..... It LOOKS like there is about a spare 6mm of clearance left over id I were to install a 3d card, but before I go drop another $450 I am hoping someone can tell me if the board will actually support 3way SLI. I cant think of why it wouldn't, but $450 is not a small amount to be doing an experiment.

I appreciate the support!

A:Can an ASUS Maximus VII support 3 graphics cards?

I just did some research and see that it chokes up on the last one being PCIe2.0-8x I may buy a rampage in the future and use this one in my server farm.... We will see. Still looking for opinions. I think the obvious answer is the transfer rate is not worth it but if someone wants to tell me I'm wrong, I'm all ears.

As time goes on and a product catalog grows, it's not unusual for a company to reduce and eventually eliminate support for older products. In the case of ATI, AMD's graphics division, a new decision to reduce support for older graphics chips is about to take effect. To date, ATI has provided a new WHQL certified driver every month to nearly every graphics card capable of DirectX 9 acceleration. That includes cards all the way back to 2002's Radeon 9700 Pro. After this month's Catalyst 9.3 release, that will not be the case.
After Catalyst 9.3, products prior to the R6xx generation of graphics cards (that go by the Radeon HD 2000 series brand names) will be changed to "legacy support status." This means that these products will get quarterly WHQL driver updates, instead of monthly updates. AMD assures us that these products will still receive critical "hotfix" drivers if high-priority fixes are needed.

Oh i hate you ATi!

New card for me then...

It says "After Catalyst 9.3" does this mean 9.3 will support them?

What have forum members found to be the fastest, highest quality half-height PCI-Express, DirectX 10 graphics card?

I've currently got an ATI x1300 Pro (256Mb) but would like something that has DirectX10 support and has more and faster memory.

A:Best half height graphics cards with DirectX 10 support

Depends on how much you really want to spend. I cant speak for ATI cards because im a fan of Nvidia, but if you dont want to spend to much you can go with the GeForce 8800 GT Video Card which is about $200, or the or just go all out with an 8800 Ultra.
But those are about the fastest you will get.

Do the newer graphics cards support 640 by 480 32bit color ?

I was reading a forum and one guy claimed that the newer graphics cards do not support 640 by 480 resolution anymore ?

I don't understand this, 640 by 480 has been a standard for years.

Does anyone know if this is true ?
Does anyone have any experience with this?

So according to the NVidia 378 Release Notes the 375 Professional drivers will be the last ones to support all the Quadro cards that exist in the P50/P70 series (1000M thru the 5000M) Does @Amy_Lenovo or any other moderators have any comment about this turn of events? What kind of guarantees will we get for future certifications against new software versions that are coming out? Are we out of luck, does Lenovo have any pull with NVidia on this? Do we as professional have any recourse? Official / unofficial MXM upgrades? Tradeup to a P71? (Probably a CDinH, but I have to ask ) Thanks.

I have been having this problem for a while now, basically I have two computers I use, this one that connects fine to both the wired and wireless, and this desktop one here I recently put a Radeon HD 6450 Graphics card into the system, I worked with my dad to initally get the card into the correct slot, he even removed the modem card (though I put it back shortly after I discovered it wouldn't connect to the internet to see if that did anything, it didn't) and we put the card in and put all the parts back on, shortly after hooking everything up properly I discover he system won't connect to the internet, it cannot detect the wireless and reads the ethernet cord as a public network and will not connect, now of course for some reason the graphics card did not come with a disc to install the drivers so I had to try several different things, to no avail.

Now later I got my hands on a GeForce GTX 650 Graphics card and I was able to set that up properly, but the disc for some reason needs to connect to the internet to install the drivers for whatever the reason

Now I get a sinking suspision that when my dad removed the dial up modem card from the machine, that messed something up, but I put it back and nothing changed

I even tried re installing windows, and that didn't help either, so I'm stuck with a useless computer at the current time
One peculiar thing though, when I put the Radeon Card into the computer and turned it on, my anitviurs software disappeared, it was just gone... Read more

Hello, I'd love to know if there is other people out there that have experienced the same as me,  HP's in-ability to rectify fixing a brand new laptop.  I purchased the Notebook, brought it home full of excitement at having my first new laptop in 7 years. From the moment it was switched on I encountered: black screen at startup,  HP Assistant failure, windows updates unable to download (ran Microsoft fixit tool, Windows update troubleshooter etc)  mouse touchpad disconnect, Wi-if failure (have to use Ethernet cable) buffering when streaming tv, the list continues. After 3 failed attempts talking with HP via remote assistance they said send to HP Singapore for notebook to be repaired. I have received the notebook back today, turned it on and it's even more useless than when I originally sent it to them. They are now asking me to send it back AGAIN! I have never been so frustrated. Is this the way HP supports their customers?

I got a new computer recently (its a laptop) that has very good specs (2ghz dual core processor, 2 gigs ram, geforce 7600), but I have been having some problems playing Oblivion. My old computer (which has since died completely) had lesser specs, but could play Oblivion perfectly fine. When I first looked at the box of Oblivion it said that I needed a GeForce 6800 or higher (I believe...), so when I saw 7600 for my laptop I thought I would be fine, but whenever I boot it it automatically reverts to 480 x 360 (it says it cannot detect the hardware on my computer) and is extremely laggy, to the point that it is unplayable. I checked the official site for Oblivion and it does not list the 7600 as a compatible series, but includes both worse and better cards in the GeForce series. Does this mean that there is no chance for me to play Oblivion on my laptop, or is there some way to get around this?

I have had so much stress after buying a brand new HP 250 G4 notebook! I've only had it a couple of months but since the start there have been browser and sound issues. Wish I'd got my  money back! I've spent hours on the phone to many HP customer support reps who have tried to fix the issues. I've even had my notebook sent off for repairs. When it was returned to me the sound issues had not been resolved despite the speakers having been replaced. I called HP again who then got me to install new drives. Issue still not fixed. My case has been kept open and I've not heard from any HP rep for a week. I know I'll have to call them! I'm fed-up and wouldn't recomment HP to anyone! Anyone else have any advice on how to get some decent support. My issue has been going on for two months! I'm based in the UK!

A:Lack of HP Support

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

I am returning the Dell described below. Decided to do that on or about Sept.23 and I began applying to Dell for their RMA number. The timing of my ordering and then receiving the Dell was an almost impossible time. I am blessed with the C.O.P.D. disease and a head cold began to make it's presence known---and how it did!! Still have it and you never want the combination of these two "killers" to hit you together. I began to have my anxiety depleted when I could not get in touch with Dell; or rather no contact with any sympathetic soul and in fact, it was pretty much just the opposite. Support in India is strictly for no one. Well, they got my Scotch/Irish anger burning and I didn't give up---it was like not being able to contact anyone at Dell Support. I really and truly felt helpless; it was like no one was home.
Dell kept saying that I had 21 days to return the computer and I had among the several items in the computer box this one page of printed info with Dell logo in several places so I scanned it and sent it attached to one of my many emails to anyone at Dell I could find a name for. Today, I got my answer. Who ever approved it said he(?) was making an exception and gave his approval. Don't really see how an exception was made when the "letter" I scanned and sent to them clearly said 30 days and in which I was well within the boundary. I did threaten Dell with letting PCMag and Smart Computing know about their lack of support and commu... Read more

Ever since I got my new pc I have been attempting to contact MS Support in the UK to answer a very simple problem.

I bought Windows Media Center from Arvato GmbH in Germany. Their email address is none functional. When I bought it it fitted into the pc great, then my pc broke.

I have a new pc and nobody seems to want to help. I called the UK support number to be told that the number has changed to a 'less expensive' number - so I dialed that. After the usual robitic responses I actually reached a human being, although speaking a barely distinguishable accent. I told her the full history. 'Now let me get this straight, you have Windows 8.1'? 'Yes' I said 'but the problem is Media Center product key not working in Add Features in 8.1 - I have paid for a product that I cannot download.'

*click* nobody on line

After several attempts to call them back, I got a phone ringing somewhere, and ringing, and ringing - you get the picture? Then another robot told me there is an error *click*

After another few attempts I gave up.

If Apple Macs were not so damn expensive I would stick MS where the sun does not shine.

Edit: Wow! finally got to 'speak' to MS via social media software. Gave them the details, we shall see ........

A:Microsoft - Lack of Support

I purchased windows 8 pro and media center retail product keys when 8 first came out..
I recently re-used both key numbers to install on a NEW computer. this is allowed with retail keys, but it is limited in time frame.. You can not do this with oem keys... First disconnect from your internet connection, input the key, activate via phone.. had to do it for the pro key and then again for media center

I'm curious who has had enough problems with the lack of 64 bit software support that they are considering going with the 32 bit version when Windows 7 is released in the Fall.

Personally, the lack of a Cisco VPN client, some poor software support, and a few driver issues, is really making me reconsider going with 64. Then again, I have not tried out the XP virtualization.

A:64 bit software support (or lack of)

Not me. I've got all the driver support I need to productively use x64. The only shortfall I see, for me, is the last of Flash for 64-bit. For that I just use 32-bit Firefox.

Read other 8 answers

Right after i installed the 64 bit version, i assumed that chrome already had such a version released, but after a closer inspection i realised it was still a 32 bit one. After looking further into the matter i found out Google only released it for Linux users, which is beyong my reasoning.

After that, i tried firefox, which apparently had a 64 bit version available, yet it asked for no apparent reason for me to give my administrator name and pass, which were incorrect according to the installer, and it exited. It eventually crossed my mind to right click and select 'run as admin' and it worked fine.

Also, i have noticed the built in IE browser is 32 bit aswell, which seems odd.

On top of all those, is the information that adobe flash player does not support 64 bit browsers true? EDIT: i tried using the 64 bit version of firefox to browse youtube, but it keeps saying i need an additional plugin, i install the adobe plugin, yet it keeps giving me the same error, which to my mind means adobe does not support 64 bit yet?

A:Lack of browser support for Windows 7 64 bit?

Hi as of yet I have not seen any real support for the 64 bit browsing, so for the time being you will have to live with the 32bit unless someone else knows of a answer

Hey Lenovo team, The P50 website for Lenovo India ( http://shopap.lenovo.com/in/en/laptops/thinkpad/p-series/p50/ ) does not have a configurator & online purchase platform unlike the US website ( http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/p-series/p50/ ). I emailed TheDoStore support ([email protected]), requesting information on the configuration options available in India and got the following response: "... unfortunately we don't have an expert who would be able to respond to you. I'm trying to open a port so I can set up my FTP. I've tried port forwarding, port triggering, etc. and no one can ping me. I set up the port as 21 and, using the router's IP address, which isn't my dynamic IP address from the ISP, I'm so firewalled I can't get out.

I did go to whatismyip.com and got a number, which I pinged and got results on all four packets. When I run IPWatch, I get the router's 192.168._._ number.

BTW....this is a Dell 2350 Broadband Router -- brand new.

The wonderful thing is that Dell Support WON'T support Advanced settings -- they DON'T KNOW HOW! However, for $40, they will trnasfer me to a technician who can help me. Figure that one out. For a $70 router, I can't even get support to set it up. A:Dell Broadband 2350 Router & lack of Support

You don't need to worry about quoting the "192.168._._ number" - everyone on the planet using NAT uses that (well nearly everyone!). It's the public dynamic IP address you may want to withhold from the rest of us!

For port-forwarding you need to set-up in the router port-forwarding to the LAN IP address of the PC on which your Titan server is operating NOT the IP address of the router. Your external user tries to FTP to your public IP address, that hits the router and the router forwards as per its config to the device on your LAN running your server: that way the external user gets through the firewall without knowing the internals of your LAN. If you have a dynamic public IP address that's obviously going to change from time to time (it does what its says on the box! - it's dynamic) which can make access for external users difficult -- so you may want to look into a Dynamic DNS service (such as offered free at www.dyndns.org or www.no-ip.com) where you can get a domain name and your external users use that rather than an IP address and the DynDNS service keeps the domain name in line with the changing public IP address.

On the ping question: it may be that the router is configured to not respond to pings from the internet - some/many routers have this facility (for security reasons) and it is often the default but I do not know the model in question. If you have the possibility in the management GUI too enebale/disable ping you can switch on... Read more

I have a household with Two Dell desktops and Three laptops the oldest laptop being a 37 month old N5110.  Kids in school you know the drill.  Of course the oldest is mine, the purchaser, the N5110, After reading about Dell not supporting this product for Windows 10 software update. I pulled my old Sony from the retired computer pile in my home office, and with a few auto updates I got a reservation for Windows 10,  So this past week I decided that if Dell drops the N5110 upgrade path I'm dropping Dell from my approved vendor list, Designating Dell to be just another Apple, stranding its customers by not providing a migration path.  The reasoning behind the Intel / Microsoft PC compared to alternatives in the 80;s was the future upgrades.  I have the Intel CPU & MS O/S but I guess I screwed up by purchasing Dells.
Oh I even tried the BIOS fix,  I already have that version installed.  I guess I just wait to see what Dell does after reading N5110 post I'm afraid that I'll have to select another Vendor, I did it to Apple in the 80's, But I'll stay with Windows and find another preferred hardware vendor if they strand this laptop with no future.  I think it is funny that someone defined the laptop lifecycle at three years at dell. Plus I use Dells in the office.

A:N5110 Windows 10 upgrade and lack of Dell support

I have a similar problem.  The only laptop i have is N5110 Inspiron. It was one of the best configurations of that time.
I am very much unhappy about the BIOS compatibility issue which stops me upgrading to windows 10.
I blame both Microsoft and Dell for this. Now its like none of them wants to take up the responsibility to provide a fix. If this has to be the trend in future it will become a norm to washout devices after every 3 years. Which is not value for money.
I hope dell comes up with a upgrade to BIOS or they reachout to Microsoft to fix the issue and upgrade on what ever is existing. I know its not a joke  cause every hour spent writing that code for a 1 person would cost too much of money. But again its  their duty.

Hi there,

My computer came with a VIA/S3G UniChrome IGP card, which is apparently a Graphics/Video Card with onboard video (or the other way around, video w/ onboard graphics) Now, this is a terrible card- it can barely play any modern games. I want to get a new graphics card, but I'm concerned if I install a new Graphics Card, that because of the onboard video, it will affect this greatly, or if I actually need a video card instead of graphics. What do I actually need, and will it adversely affect anything on my PC.

I can provide more information if you want...

I already have an old standalone GPU (GT 9400... about 5x slower than the 630), if I put it into the PCI E slot and run my monitor through there, can I make use of my new integrated GPU?

Hello. Using Vista home, and ScansiskSD adaptor, the removeable drives I use for getting my pics from my memory card to my pc have always worked sporadically.. sometimes the light comes on, sometimes not, sometimes says insert card when already inserted, every so often, works great! checked drivers many times. Decided in device manager to remove drivers and reload.. accidentally removed drives instead. They do not magically re-appear in device manager after restarting as I hoped. Going back to an earlier date also didn't work. Is there a way recover the drives and avoid restteing to factory status/full system recovery? if not, advice please on making it as simple as possible. thank you.

A:must I do total recovery to reinstall removeable drives for pic/video cards?

I moved your thread here to the Vista forum in the believe that you will more likely get help here.

I would physically remove the drives and then install them the same way you did originally (assuming you following whatever instructions were given with them).

i opened up my case and it said i had a Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 motherboard.
I was wondering if my motherboard could take a 6600 PCI. How do i check?
I purchased this pc around 2 years ago.

A:Does my motherboard support PCI cards?

I assume you mean a PCI-E graphics card since an Nvidia 6600 doesn't come in a PCI model. The answer is no, your motherboard supports AGP graphics cards. Nvidia 6600s come in AGP models, however.

I am thinking about purchasing this motherboard,

But I am not sure how to tell if a video card is compatible.

Here is the card I want,

I realize the PCIe 3.0 will fit to the motherboard, but I do not know if it will be compatible.

I do not understand the difference betweeen DDR3, DDR5 and GDDR5.

Thanks for help!

A:What video cards will support this?

Yes, those two items will be compatible with each other.

DDR3 & DDR5 are VRAM types and GDDR5 is a motherboard RAM identification.

For the future, you can go >>here<< and all your parts to see if there will be any issues with compatibility.

But keep in mind that there can be other compatibility issues such as the graphics card being too long to fit in the case.

This is proably a very common question but could not find a clear answer after searching here and googling for 3 hours, so...
Precisely what ACTUALLY does a SLI configuration require? I keep seeing these lists of "officially supported" video cards and noticed all of them are ones who have goldfinger connectors but i know for a fact these are not mandatory for SLI. I know, or at least thought i knew, 2 identical (or same chipset) cards are required and a capable motherboard. Now all sorts of people claim that ONLY the stated cards will be able to SLI and i don't understand why. It's clear as of drivers 3xx it's not possible to use cards with different amount of memory any longer but other than that there's no other stated restriction.
Background story: one of my 9800GT's has gone to hell and could not find another one whatsoever so i sold the other one. I had laying around a GT520 way inferior card but newer technology and want to keep it since newer games refuse to run without DirectX 11 hardware support, another reason i sold the remaining 9800. I am about to receive in 2 days another identical GT520 and i can't get a definitive answer as to whether they will actually be recognised as SLI-able or not.
They have no goldfinger connector and "officially" are not supported but for low end cards like these that use very little PCIE bandwidth should not be a communication problem, provided the drivers agree to work for me not against me as they have with the 9... Read more

A:Precisely what cards support SLI feature

No, the GT520 does not support SLI mate

Will newer video cards run older games? Lego Star Wars II support say they only recommend cards they have tested. Well their list of supported video cards is from 2006 and not very appealing. Many of them aren't even available now. Are they sure newer cards won't run their games or just unwilling to stick their neck out and say, yea maybe they could?

A:Old games-new cards? Lego support says no

I'm sure they will run fine if the OS supports it. Vista won't run some older games but those are going back at least 6 years.

I can't really think of any other reason why they wouldn't, the old cards technologies are built into the new cards with the possible exception of whatever the old Voodoo cards did..

After hours spent with tech support trying to figure out why my N22 Winbook SD card was not working right in the card slot, somebody finally suggested that maybe the card was not campatible. Once I then switched from a Class 10 to a Class 4 SD card, all issues went away. Kudos to the agent who guessed at this maybe being the problem. Shame on Lenovo for there being no tech bulletin on this or no reference in the specs to just what class of SD card it does support. My guess is that this SD card issue also exists with other models as well.

I just recently played splinter cell chaos theory on PC, i have a 6800 GT overclocked to 420/1130 and when i have the game playing at shader 3.0 it is slow as hell and i am running this at 1024*768. I barely get 35 FPS, this also happened when i was playin chronicles of riddick which also supports shader 3.0 and my fps was even worse. I dont know if its my pc, software or the card. But if it is the card i dont get why nvidia will put the support for a technology that their current generation of video cards can not handle.

A:Shader 3.0 Support in Nvidia Cards.

it is not necessarily an issue with the shader model 3.0,do you have anything running in the background,do you have aa or af on?also it doesnt have to be the video cards fault for low fps count,it might be becuase of a weak or an unmatched processor to keep up or slower ram.shader model 3.0 is relatively new technology the fault doesnt have to be in the hardware(gpu) but might be in the software(game)as well.

Sorry if this is in the wrong category but I have several questions relating to Video Cards, 4k tv's, and 4k videos on YouTube.

Are there video cards that support or can run games in 3840x2160 (4k)? I just upgraded to a 4k TV and am using an HDMI cable for the PC. I noticed my graphics card only goes up to 1920x1080 for resolution settings, so I must be greatly limiting the TV's capabilities?

I was also wondering about these "4k videos" you see on YouTube that can test out the TV. Will I really be able to view it in 4k or will it really only be 1080p because of the graphics card? What if I bypass the computer and use the smart tv feature to access youtube directly to watch the 4k videos from that, will it really then be in 4k doing that option?

Under some of the 4k videos on youtube, I noticed the settings only go up to 720p HD, so I am not sure if youtube is a really good test to view something in 4k to begin with, sigh. Those are just some of the questions I have. Thank you for answering them in detail and for explaining how some of this works, lol.

A:Are there video cards that support or can run games in 3840x2160 (4k)

I know that the Nvidia 780s support 4K, so would guess that anything newer would too. AMD no idea, but I expect that a visit to their web site would confirm which cards do.

Dont know which card you are currently using, so no idea on that one, but yes, HDMI cable works. I originally used my Displayport, but there were issues, mainly that I could only run at 2/4K at 30hz- this was not an issue with HDMI.

4K you tubes- if your screen is at 1920, thats th emax resolution you will see. The picture is dependent on output res, not the monitor res.

I'm working on a HTPC/DVD system, and I'm planing on running Mythbuntu for the OS/DVR system. Does anyone know how AMD/ATI's drivers are for Linux? I'm thinking of running a SAPPHIRE 100292DDR3L Radeon HD 5450 1GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card graphics card in it.

And if there is decent driver support for Hauppauge WinTV Tuner cards on Linux? Going to get some like
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1850 (updated version of 1800) MCE Kit 1128 PCI-Express x1 Interface down the road.

A:Linux driver support for ATI and Hauppauge cards

There are two breeds of linux driver for AMD/ATI: The FOSS drivers, such as the xorg radeon and radeonhd divers and the closed source ATI proprietary driver: known as fglrx. For your card, based on the evergreen GPU, you are going to be looking at using fglrx as the support for evergreen is far from complete in the open drivers at present.

No idea with regards to TV tuner cards.

You are asking this question at the wrong place however. This is not a linux community/support forum. Head over the phoronix forums, linuxquestions or go the distro specific forum (i.e. in your case the ubuntu forums).

i have recently come into possession of a computer with a 2.70 Ghz celeron

but it has NO agp port
could anyone recommend any pci video cards that support AREO/GLASS

ATI or Nvidia are preferd choices

im not a gamer s i dont really need anything powerful

ive tried newegg but they only have Nvidia the ATI cards are all dx8 -.-'

if i can git a variety of choices at less then $50
less then $30 would be preferred

i would be very grateful

A:pci video cards that support AREO/GLASS

Newegg has a large variety of PCI cards.

Here they are, cheapest to most expensive.

Newegg.com - Computer Hardware,Video Cards & Video Devices,Desktop Graphics / Video Cards,PCI

You generally want something with DirectX 10.1. Any that do that are guaranteed to be good for Aero. DX9 is good too, but I see no sense in that.
So I advise DX10.1.

Nvidia has announced that it is going to be dropping driver support for a large number of its old graphics cards, including essentially the entire 8-series, 9-series, 100-series, 200-series, 300-series, and one card (the GeForce 405) from its 400-series. This includes mobileand desktop products. Support for a number of professional workstation products is also being terminated.

A:Nvidia dropping support for older gen cards

It happens. They can't waste resources on legacy cards/chips. Heck, I have some really old cards in a box somewhere, don't expect to pull them out and install on Windows 8.

Now if you want to install new GPU you simply can't or you need to install special vbios.
""It's not about vBIOS mod at all. I've deeply investigated into this problem not so long ago and the problem is in extremely bad engineered ACPI table of the system BIOS. Idk why Dell didn't fix it during 16 BIOS updates, but this garbage in ACPI table don't allow us to use any nvidia cards based on Kepler and higher. As for AMD, any cards will work fine, but Embedded controller can't read GPU temps and, due to this, don't control GPU fan. Kepler and newer card are working under Linux with ACPI off (what leads too no power control features - freqs on GPU and CPU stay the same all the time). I see no hope that Dell will fix it any time soon (probably never) and the only thing that might help is to find some smart BIOS engineer and try to solve the problem. The funniest thing is that my 9 years old Core 2 Duo Acer laptop works without any problems with M2000M and GTX 965m... HP Elitebook workstations have no problem either.""

So will dell fix this, and users be able to upgrade their laptops? Or dell want us to buy WHOLE NEW laptops so their can make more money (planned obsolescence)?

I asked in another thread but since this is a video card question I thought maybe I should create a new thread for this question. I'm building a new PC and I need to select a video card. I want to stick with NVidia, and I want to be sure I get one that can handle HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0 in order to decode 4k HEVC 10-bit, especially if I get the Skylake and don't wait for Kaby Lake since Skylake doesn't have built-in support for HEVC like Kaby Lake will. From what I see very few cards support HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0. Am I correct that the card has to be based on the the GM206 GPU to support this? From a post I read, the only cards that support this are:

- GTX 960
- GeForce GTX Titan X
- GeForce GTX 980 Ti

Are there any other NVidia cards that fit that specification other than these? The 960 is around the right price point for me and I see EVGA has a nice one. The other cards listed above are way, way out of my price range. Is the 960 my only option then? I want to stick with NVidia. How does the 960 perform? I'm looking at this card:

EVGA GeForce GTX 960 04G-P4-3969-KR 4GB FTW GAMING w/ACX 2.0+, Whisper Silent Cooling w/ Free Installed Backplate Graphics Card

A:NVidia cards that support HEVC, HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0

Are you saying that the 970 and 980 do not support HDMI 2.0 ?

Are you certain you`re even going to use HDMI ?
