HiI have the HP Spectre 13-4129na x360 Convertible Laptop WINDOWS 10Intel i7-6500U, 8 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, Intel HD 520 Graphics Card, 13 inch Quad HD Touch-Screen, I have used it for less than a week in total and despite: lowering the screen brightnessTurning off all apps (from startup)Turning the power options to balancedupdating biosupdating driverstesting battery in the HP softwaretesting battery in bios The maximum I get from the battery is 3-4 hours despite a claimed 10 hours plus. (that's general browsing, listening to music not labour intensive thing either.) It gets very hot. (I can live with that, but the battery length is impossible.) Please, I think I've tried everything.

Attempting to use a stylus HP active pen with my computer bought in May 2016.  My computer is a Full High Definition (FHD) displays (resolution is 1920x1080):The bluetooth connection work perfectly but it's impossible to right on the screen.There is no response to the stylus.I thought this occurs because the touch controller firmware needs to be updated.Unfortunatly I'm not able to find  the appropriate firmware.Could you please Help  Best regards Patrick

Hello,I've recetnly bought brand new hp spectre x360 13and it has a obvious problem with a battery.  The battery is getting drained when the laptop is shut-down(yes, complytly shut-down not in a sleep mode). It can drain about 8-10% battery per night, what is kinda annoying and unacceptable for high-end laptop.I'm wondering if this is due to a problem with the battery or if it is caused by some kind of setting that causing the computer not shut-downing properly.I've already disabled USB power option in BIOS. It didn't help.  Would really appreciate your help. I think this is not a common thing in a new laptop.

I have observed it overheats a lot on middle of the keyboard near function keys within 10-20 minutes I start using it.
 
from other HP forum I have already tried HP CoolSense but it does not help..
 
It is really sad experience to buy one of latest product and face this kind of issue.

Hey, I have a HP Spectre x360 Convertible Windows 10 Home 64-bit and i bought it few months ago (8/2016).  Screen problem occured during the past few weeks. The texts get covered by black boxes, but they dissapear once you move the cursour on them and when you change from program to another the screen "flickers" (picture below). I don't knwo the reason. Few weeks ago my computer had a major update. could it be the reason? Thanks!! p.s. I'm not sure if this is connected to the previous but earlier when i turned the compute on boot manager came on with options of "OS boot manager (UEFI)" and "Boot from EFI File".I chose the first one based on what i read about them. Should I be worried? :/

Guys hav had this computer for over 1 yr. previous to spectre I had used he elite convertible with the passive stylus without any issues (4 years). With the spectre the HP stylus goes from working  to not working. Have to constantly shake it, unscrew the cap and then re tghten. My other tricks are to close it of one mate and then reopen or completely restart the computer. Been over a year year and I butt he computer because the the stylus capability. It seems to me there is some stating that puts the stylus or the tablet n sleep mode.  Note issue occurs not only in one note but also when on desk top point at icons. Yes I am using the HP approved stylus. Also have the Dell stylus from last year that experiences the same issue.  What at is the fix to this problem. Love the computer but will hav to migrate to either apple or Microsoft if n fix.

I just purchased an HP Spectre x360 and I am trying to record some videos using a teleprompter.  There is no VGA connector, and there is no HDMI connector.  I have only a USB3 connector on the left side and two USB-C connectors on the right side.  There are no other connectors.  Is there another way to connect my monitor to my teleprompter using Bluetooth or wifi oran adapter cable from USB-C to connect via HDMI or VGA?  I am on a deadline and would appreciate some help.

I recently purchased the HP DVD 600s external drive to attach to the HP Spectre x360 Convertible laptop but am unable to get the laptop to boot from a CD or DVD.  I've disabled secure boot in the bios and moved the CD option to the top of the list in the UEFI boot order but booting up bypasses the CD/DVD drive, goes straight to the hard drive, and starts Windows instead.  The DVD disc boots fine on another computer.  My laptop product number is T629UA#ABA.  Please help.  Thank you.

Product # T6T09UA#ABA which I purchased on August 2016. Installed extra sofware: 1.) Microsoft office 2017 home edition, 2.) Hp Envy 5660 wireless printer, 3.) Kaspersky Internet Security 2017. I don't use much memory, most all information is stored on a external drive. The issues started with the Windows 10 anniversary update on September 2016. I contacted the support team which transferred me to HP TotalCare represntative. After the update I lost about 10 gig of memory. The support loaded some software onto the computer, analyzed the system, cleaned up and removed what wasn't needed. I regained my lost memory, Total Care was excellant with their help. Reoccuring issue started on October 23, 2016. There was no major updates installed on computer, confirmed by HP support representative on chat session not HP Total Care. That morning I had about 182 gig of memory for the hard drive by late eveving when I started to use the computer I checked my storage which was about 175 gig. The HP support representative took control of my computer did cleanup, deleted files and stuff I don;t know about.I assumed all problems are resolve, when I looked at HP Product Assistant under the storage tab I found that I had even more memory gone. As shown here: SanDisk SD7S... Loving my HP Spectre X360 convertible. It's my first touchscreen laptop and it's awesome! So I did some research to find which active pen/stylus would work best and it appears the Dell does. So I bought one - the Dell active pen PN556W. It connects via bluetooth and the buttons work, however I can't draw or do anything else with the actual tip of the pen (I can with my finger). I have a feeling it's because this particular active pen uses the new wacom technology but the HP laptop uses the older synaptics technology - is this right? Is there a fix for this? Otherwise, does this just mean I have to get an active pen/stylus that uses synaptics technology? I would prefer an answer to this question rather than a comment telling me to buy the HP active pen please. Thanks, Rebecca

I purchased a new Spectre X360 with the Full HD screen on 15 April 2017. Its the version with the gold/copper accents which appears to have been released in the US in late 2016.   Whilst setting it up on the day of the purchase, I noted that any white/light grey colour on the screen (like on this website, google search page and Windows 10 settings) had a distinct yellow tinge - almost like night mode on a cellphone. I took the laptop back to the HP shop where the saleman and manager agreed that the colour was not right. I put the X360 side by side with my 2015 MacBook Pro and my wife's 5 year old Sony Vaio - on the same web page - and the yellowness of the X360 screen was clear - regret I didn't photograph the comparison.  The HP store checked another brand new X360 and a demo X360, both of which had yellowish whites - though less yellow than the laptop I purchased. The store graciously allowed me to return the laptop and processed a refund.  I still want to buy a Spectre X360 but the store suggsted in an email to me now that all X360's will have this yellowish white dispaly.  I have read many reviews of the Spectre X360 full HD and 4K versions, and havent read any comments about this yellow tinge. There are many complaints of yellow tinge on the display of the 2015 version of the X360.  I'd like to know if this is a characteristic of the 2016/2017 X360? Have any other owners experienced this?   Thx

One year and six months after purchasing this expensive laptop there was a short in the motherboard.  The computer stopped charging yesterday morning, gave me a low-battery warning and emitted an electrical-burn smell and would not respond after I shut it down. I opened the back and the short on the motherboard was immediately apparent, unfortunately burning through the replacement part number.  I verified that the power connector wires had not broken or pulled lose as some people had indicated a common problem there.  I contacted HP support - they gave me the appropriate part number, but their charge for just the part approached 80% of the cost new of the computer. I see on these boards that numerous people have experienced failed motherboards in this laptop, typically just beyond the warranty coverage.  I'm extremely disappointed after spending what I did just 18 months ago to face having to repair it myself or replace it. Can anyone suggest a cheaper source for motherboards or can HP offer me any help to salvage this situation?

When I tilt the screen back, my computer sometimes goes into sleep mode, or at least it appears to be in sleep mode (the screen goes blank and the power button flashes).  To get it back on I usually have to press and hold the power button until it completely shuts down, then reboot.  It appears to happen when the hinges get bent in a certain way.  Is there a cable or ribbon that runs across the back of the unit that might be getting pinched?  How can I troubleshoot this and get it fixed?

Where can I download a copy of recovery software for HP Spectre X360 Convertible 13-4103dx?  I replaced the OS with Windows 7 64-bit as this is still the standard OS at work but after the install , it removed all drivers of devices even the newtork adapter and USB controller.  Now I could not connect to wifi/network or read the USB drive.  I need to restore it to Windows 10 as I could not find a driver for Windows 7 for this notebook.

I have a new 15" HP Sepctre x360 convertible model T6T09UA#ABA that seems to be having issues with wireless logitech mice "sticking"  Both the scroll wheel and moving the mouse causes a pause, stick, or jump of the curser or screen while web browsing, using applications, or just moving across the desktop.  The built in touch pad scrolls and moves everything smoothly and with perfect precision.  I've tried three different models of logitech mice that work well on other laptops and all three exhibited the sticking, jumpy, jerky kind of behavior.  It's not a surface/sensor issue because I'm testing with other laptops on the same surface.   I even bought HP's bluetooth 4000 mouse and that had the same problem as the logitech mice.  How do I get mouse movement/screen scrolling to be as smooth and perfect as using the built in track pad?  Making adjustments in the mouse control panel in Windows 10 does nothing for this movement/sticking issue.  Anyone else experiencing it on this laptop?

3 bios updates for my new notebook have been available over the past month of ownership.  All 3 updates failed at the end of the process with a message saying "c2-Error: Region is write-protected".  The latest one is SP78334 version F.10Ap1.  The good news is that the system still works after the failure without any boot.

Since purchasing my HP Spectre prior to Christmas I have experienced ghost tapping with the touch screen. Either as randomly timed taps in the same location or continuous taps in the same location. Resetting the device stops it from happening but within around 30 minutes to an hour of use the tapping returns and will be in a different location from the previous session. Having this issue from day one is very dissapointing and I wasn't expecting to have such an issue believing HP to provide quality products. Since searching for the issue I can see that others also experience the fault. Seems odd that a premium product can have so many units with faults and a fault that was known about in previous products. I'm not confident that a repair will give me much assurance that the issue won't return so may seek a refund from where I purchased it. A little saddened by that as I was looking forward to owning the new Spectre 360. I haven't experienced HP support before, do others have experience and have others had a good experience with the new Spectre 360? I like the device so would prefer to get it fixed, but I start Uni next week and will struggle to be without a laptop.

Hi! I purchased my laptop around 3 to 4 months ago via my school. Initially, the laptop was able to live up to its claims of a "long battery life" but within 2 months, the battery life had decreased from 10 hours to 2-3 hours. Moreover, the laptop seems to be very laggy, despite the fact that the majority of my files are stored in Dropbox and I rarely have anything more than a few google chrome tabs open (and occasionally a microsoft word document open). Are there ways to solve this? Should I purchase a new battery?

Hello, This is a new laptop that I got for my college daughter this past Christmas and it has a very noisy fan. My dauhgter loves the laptop and takes it to all her classes, but the fan gets so noisy at times that she has been asked by other sutdents and the teacher to shut ther computer down becuase of the extreme noise that it makes. In full disclosure I am an HP employee and want to support the company products and expect high quality products, but she and I are very disapointed with this issue with a new HP product.Also another problem that I encountered is that when I went to the HP support site to try to get help, the site does not recognize either the S/N or Prod. Number of the laptop and therefore not able to get support or warrenty status. My dauther did not wnat to hurt my feelings and wanted to return the laptop, but I hope HP can fix this form me. THanks,

Flash started to appear on my display, in circular and square format, opening various websites and options without me touching anything. I couldn`t watch a movie because jump for diferents parts all the time.I updated all drivers but nothing resolve. Reading the internet I found a similar problem, indicating that I should disable the sensors in the device manager. I disable HID - Touchscreen and Sensors.With the sensors disables the problem stopped but I lost the touch screen.

Hello All, Frustrated new owner of HP Pavilion x360 - convertible  here. Bought this computer about 2 weeks ago.  Here are the issues I've been having. 1.  Computer goes into sleep mode no matter what minutes setting I've set to (both on battery and plugged in)I've even set everything to never; laptop would still go into sleep mode after 3 to 5 minutes of no-use. 2.  Spent 2 to 3 hours with HP rep, whom of which remotely accessed my laptop, downloaded a bios update, installed bios update.  After the bios update, we tested the problem byleaving computer untouched for about 5 minutes or so; issue seems to be solved. 3.  After step 2, HDMI external monitor not sending signal to monitor.  My ext. monitor can't detect a signal.  (I actually had problems when I first tried to use an external monitor, had to do several restarts and shutdowns to finally have monitor detect and signal from the laptop.)   I know it's not the hdmi cable or monitor, as I've tried inter-switching monitors and cables with my amazon fire TV.   And all monitors and cables were okay. 4.  Nevertheless, after step 3, I fiddled around and restarted and shutdown the laptop some more times, and somehow the monitor finally detected a signal, and screen works again. 5.  BUT HERE WE GO AGAIN...... I JUST BOUGHT THIS COMPUTER AND I THINK I NEED TO ADJUST THE TOUCH PAD SENSITIVITY.  WHEN TYPING I GENTLY TOUCH IT AND THE CURSOR FLIES OUT OF CONTROL ON TO ANOTHER PART OF THE PAGE.  THIS IS A TOUCH SCREEN COMPUTER SO WOULD THERE ALSO BE A WAY TO MAKE IT HARDER FOR THE SCREEN TO RECOGNIZE THE TOUCH?

I bought a brand new hp spectre x360 last December 2016 because I was amaze of the features being advertised at Best Buy Station Square Burnaby, CA store and they order it for me. When I got my order which I'm expecting it's brand new product, however after 2 weeks of using it I observed that the battery life has short period of time to think that I fully charged it. Because of these I return my laptop in the store to give complain regarding this matter. The store took it for repair and until now it's almost a month I haven't received any update regarding the status of my laptop. And I'm paying for the laptop which I haven't use. Kindly address this issue and hoping to hear from HP company soon.

I recently bought my Spectre x360 and overall I am very happy with my purchase. However, I am a bit concerned with battery life. For my version (i7 processor and UHD screen) I am only achieving about 5 hours usage from each charge. I had expected nearer 9 hours from the adverts for the model. Reading messages from other users I seem to find that to achieve nearer 9 hours i should lower screen brightness to about 50%. Surely the main reason for buying a notebook with a UHD-4K screen is for the display to be bright especially when watching videos (Nertflix, iPlayer etc).Any suggestions about improving battery life please

I found the the icon on of battery shows not full charged, however, I always use the AC to charge the laptop all the day.The battery icon shows the ac is connecting not charging.So I use hp battery check.It shows I need change the battery asp, and my battery is under gurentee. And there was a code UAJBXW-000000-MFPWLJ-C08M03.

Hi!  I am also having concerns about my laptop's battery life. It would probably run for a max 5 hours out of the claimed 12 hours battery life. I don't have any applications - besides Microsoft programs and iTunes (NO GAMES). I don't overcharge my laptop, so once it reaches 100%, I unplug straight away. Any solutions out there to improve battery performance?Thanks so much in advance! Sam

My x360 QHD Spectre has a low battery life in the beginning it has a 7 hour life with medium brightness then it's like 4:30 hours with Battery Saver on mode and I already removed bloatware and I only watch movies on it but when I game it's 2:30 hours (Fan gets loud and laptop gets hot) I'm pretty sure the battery life should be 10 hours
