I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I need a new battery or charger for toshiba laptop A105-S2101. The battery is a PA3451U-1BRS and its a DC 14.4v 2000mah.

Well first off the battery wont hold or take a charge. Everytime I unplug it from the wall the laptop goes off too. The lights do come on the laptop showing that its charging.

2nd thing is does voltage matter on battery replacement? I cant find 14.4 replacement thats cheap. All ones I find 10.? volt with 4000-4400mah on ebay.

A:Laptop battery replacement

You need to use the same battery, and the same charger voltages. High capacity batteries usually have a higher mah figure, but I would replace them like for like.

Batteries are never cheap, and they do wear out - some faster than others, but eventually they all die and stop holding charge.

For two weeks now when I turn on my computer it hasn't been able to start up. When I turn it on, the screen is black with white letters at the top which say that the battery may need to be replaced. The warranty for my computer is expired, and even if it wasn't I don't have the number which I would need to call to order a spare. That being the case, does anyone know where I should go, look, or call in order to buy a replacement battery for an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC, model number:dv6-1030us?

I've got my old Compaq Armada M700 Laptop and the battery is totally shot, so I figured it's time to get a new one.
However, I'm a bit weary about buying a new one, I dont want to get stuck with a bad one. Has anyone else ever bought a battery for this laptop? If so, could you tell me where you got it from?
I've seen a lot on Amazon.com but none have reviews, and I don't take that as a good sign. I take it I'd only want new instead of used right?

If a battery is legit it's going to come with a warranty and therefore even if it fails the warranty will allow a replacement unless of course you abuse it but I haven't had any problems with my laptops batteries. I don't run the same system but most laptop batteries warranties are about the same.

How do I know if a battery will fit into my laptop? It needs a 10.8v. My old battery says for use with tpn-w106 series, and list a few other series as well. I went to the hp site, but that was completely useless. I have to order a generic battery to find a replacement for this. What does the tpn-w106 mean, and will any battery for that series fit mine?

The battery item number is 699468-001 or the hp part number is 698751-851.

I saw some cheap batteries for tpn-w106 10.8 volt, but it doesn't list my exact computer as being compatible. My computer is the dv6-7323cl

Greetings; I need to replace the battery in a Latitude d820. Once it has a full charge can I presume normal operation or do these 6600 mAH (-/+) type batteries need any special conditioning time?

A:Laptop replacement battery conditioning

It's been awhile since I've looked but if I remember correctly the general concensus is to fully charge the battery before use, then use the device until your battery power is low (7-10%), then fully recharge it again and you are good to go. Looking around the net, some places say to do it 3 times to really condition it. It is recommended to also do this once every few months to keep it conditioned. For the rest of the time, most people say not to let it drop below 30-40%. Supposedly letting it drain too low, too often severely shortens the long term life of the battery.

Good day to you all and thank you for the opportunity to join your online community.
The following text is the culmination of information from a failed attempt to get qualified advice via the Yahoo Answers route. This is why the text is not in a strictly narrative form. I thought it best to provide the accumulated data as is:
I recently purchased a replacement battery for my Acer laptop (Acer Aspire 7740-5029). The battery is not a "manufacturer" replacement battery, but is of third-party manufacture. When I turn on my laptop (windows 7 HP 64bit), the laptop does not recognize that the [new] battery is inserted, even though the new battery is inserted. The laptop does function with the replacement battery, but it does not report to Windows the remaining charge, or even that the battery is even there. So, this being the case, I have no idea of the charge/time remaining as I use the laptop and is of no use to me because of that fact.

I have a very new H/P 'Envy' laptop that I use purely for entertainment. I mean like in the Summer sitting out under my Maple tree, watching a movie DVD or SKYPE-ing with family or old shipmates. The rest of the time it is stowed away, battery removed. I have an electronic background and I know rechargeable batteries both lose charge capacity, AND simply go down sitting on the shelf. I note the 'V104' battery pack for this L/T goes for almost $50. I also see it is rated at 14.8 volts; a little odd for a four (4) cell total, but Lithium Ion batteries are not 'old hat' to me.

That said, when this pack begins to not even do a Movie DVD, I'm giving serious thought to taking my Dremel tool out, carving open the battery pack, removing the old cells, wiring and taping ten (10) Garden Variety Duracell AA batteries together and running that. Ten AA's is a tad over 15 VDC, open circuit.

Has anybody here ever done this? Ten AA's is $3.75 from Costco; one helluva lot better than Amazon !!

I received a laptop that isn't mine in the mail from the Lenovo repair center. I don't know how this happened, but the package was addressed to me and contained a laptop with a decorative skin or sticker of some kind that definitely doesn't belong to me. There was a paper in the box that said it was sent in for a battery replacement or repair and a case number but no name or contact info for the person it belongs to. I haven't removed the laptop from the plastic wrap it came in and I imagine that whoever it belongs to is very worried/frustrated at this point. I received it more than a month ago. I have called Lenovo 5 times asking them to send me a shipping label to figure out what happened and how the laptop can get back to its rightful owner. They have yet to send me a shipping label or even acknowledge that any progress has been made to figure out what the next step is. Each and every time I am told that a mysterious case manager will call me. They won't give me the phone number or email of the case manager and no one has called me. I find it completely ridiculous that no one has contacted me or followed up after 5 phone calls from someone saying they have a laptop that doesn't belong to them. This is incredibly irresponsible on the part of Lenovo. Its been a month and a half!  If you are missing your laptop and it sounds like it could be the one I have here, please reply and we'll figure out a way to verify that it belongs to you and get your laptop back to... I have a Toshiba laptop model S70-BBT2N23 which I purchased last April. The laptop works fine with no problems.

I decided to buy an extra battery to use as a backup. When I installed the battery, the computer would not boot up, even with the AC plugged in. If I remove the battery or put the original battery back in, all works fine. I initially thought this was a battery problem, so I exchanged the battery for a replacement and got the same result. These were aftermarket batteries, so I then bought a Toshiba branded battery which appeared to be exactly the same as the original battery - and I again got the same result. In every case, the laptop will not boot up with the replacement battery and just flashes the power light, even with the AC plugged in. Put the original battery in (with or without AC) or just run on AC and all works fine.

Any ideas?

A:Laptop won't boot with any replacement battery

That's crazy.....I would put in a support ticket to Toshiba and see what their techs say about that. Aftermarket or OEM replacement battery should work as the old OEM battery does......baffling to say the least.

I need to replace the battery in my P-6301 Gateway Notebook. Any website recommendations?

By going to the Gateway website I was directed to four vendors selling replacement batteries. The cheapest of the four is at http://www.mundocorp.com.

For my notebook there are two choices, a 6 cell LI-ION battery for $64.00 or a 9 cell LI-ION battery for $114.00. In previous research I believe I found that the original battery was a 6 cell.

Do I need to replace the battery with the 6 cell battery only, or do I have the option of buying the 9 cell to give me more power?

Thanks for your help.

I have a Toshiba laptop (Satellite L335D-S7825) which has a #PA3536U-1BRS Li-ion battery pack (DC10.8V/10.8V -- 4000mAh). At full charge I'm lucky to get two hours. I see that many new batteries are rated up to as much as eight hours or more.

Is it even possible to buy such a long-life battery for my Toshiba, or am I stuck with a two-hour machine? I found some 4600mAh batteries that should fit my laptop, but would they provide more than two hours of usage? Can I find one rated higher than 4600mAh? Do Li-ion batteries have the longest life, or is there a new technology that has surpassed it? If so, would my laptop take anything other than Li-ion?

I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who can offer me sound advice.

Thank you very much.

I'm looking to replace the battery in a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop and I'm looking for recommendations on a good place to get one. I usually purchase from BestBatt.com but they don't carry a replacement for the Dell Inspiron 1501. So, I'm looking for another place.

Didn't the battery come with some paperwork including a number to call? They usually want you to send back the old one when they replace a battery under warranty. I am sure HP would replace the incorrect battery with the correct model since the original intent was to fulfill your warranty.

My battery is dying. I've done a few things in an attempt to fix the "consider replacing your battery" warning and none of them has worked. I run my laptop in high performance mode (for audio recording) and I have no problem thinking it might just be dying.

So I need to replace it. I have NO IDEA what to look for in a replacement battery. I have done searches and found numbers similar to what I have but none that match exactly. Specifically, I have not found any that are 5600mAh, only smaller numbers.

So I would dearly appreciate a little help. Here's my computer via Sandra report:
Model : Clevo W150HNM/W170HN HuronRiver System
Serial Number : System Ser**********
Chassis : Clevo Laptop
Mainboard : Clevo W150HNM/W170HN
Serial Number : System Ser**********
BIOS : Phoenix (OEM) HR_2.1.0.128 X64 10/07/2011
Intel vPro :
Total Memory : 7.92GB DDR3 SO-DIMM

And here's what the battery says on it:
Li-Ion Battery Pack
Model C4500BAT-6 (SIMPLO)

Incidentally, there is a sticker on it that says FEB-'12. I assume that means when the battery was made because I bought the laptop in April of 2012 and this is the original battery.

I find close matches when I search for a replacement but they are 4400mAh or some such. I know some numbers are more important than others but I don't know which is which.

Thanks for any help!

I "inherited" an NEC Versa laptop, model 4230. We finally got it up and running but I think we need to replace the CMOS button battery (I get a "System battery is dead" error message). I have the right size/current/voltage battery but cannot access the board. I realize I may have to solder leads on the battery to secure it properly to the board. Is there a special NEC tool to take this cartridge/mother board out? There is a lock/unlock icon next to a small hole of this cartridge. All of the other cartridges do not have this oval shaped hole. What shape is the tool? How can I change my battery w/out getting to this board?

Thanks in advance,
PamK in San Jose, CA

A:replacement of CMOS battery in NEC Versa laptop

The "lock/unlock" symbol next to an "oval hole" sounds very much like the standard Kensington Lock provision on a laptop.

This is for attaching a locking cable to lock the PC to a desk, and prevent theft. Its not a lock to get access internally for the laptop.

The "system battery" will be the little button cell or similar that is located on the motherboard of the laptop, probably deep within the internals.

Taking a laptop apart (and getting it back together) without damaging the laptop can be a complex and difficult operation, and you really need the full service manual to find out how its done for that model. I would suggest taking it to a shop.

Hi Jez,
What is the issue with the current battery? Please write a detailed description of the issue, so we could isolate the source.
If you are sure the issue is with the battery, then it needs to be replaced. However, we would not recommend using non Dell batteries on the system, as they might exhibit other issues.
You could contact our team to get a quote here - http://dell.to/1vnT6CQ
You could also order the parts through parts-people here - http://bit.ly/2icstBg
Also, please click my DELL-username and write me a private conversation with the service tag and your contact details(Name and Email) for case records.

The battery came with a driver disk which won't load cause it was for a 32 bit, mine is 64 bit.

I tried uninstalling the "Batteries > Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" and reinstalling, but it gave me an error message saying it couldn't install.

I went to Microsoft and downloaded all the updates.

I tried this...but could not find "ISBmgr.exe" under the start up tab.

From either the Start menu or command prompt run MSCONFIG.exe
On Vista machines, Windows will prompt you for permission to continue
In the System Configuration window, click the "Startup" tab and find the item containing "ISBMgr.exe"
Uncheck the box for the "ISBMgr.exe"
Click "Ok" to save and accept the changes and restart the laptop
You may be prompted on restart that Windows is running in selective mode. Just uncheck the notification option on bottom right.
I followed a few other iterations of those above steps with battery in, battery out, and other pokie turn yourself around things and am now stuck.

My W540 is asking me to consider replacing the battery. The original battery is a 57++, 9 cells, 11.1V, 8.96Ah 100Wh, Li-ion00 battery. Searched on ebay, cannot find an exactly the same one.  The closest match one is this:  Some 9 cells 57++ is 10.8V, 9.21Ah and Li-ion 20  ----- does this one is better than mine original because of its lower V?----- do you have a reliable seller from ebay or amazon to recommend ? From the Battery Maintenance window I found there is a Battery Health Mode feature somewhere. But where I can find it??

I have to replace the battery on a toshiba L355-S7915 laptop. Which battery is better? The Toshiba battery or the B-5040H from battery-biz. anyone use battery biz?

A:Battery Replacement Toshiba OEM or Battery-Biz

Could you provide links?
I think with batteries the big thing is Watt/Hours. (Don't quote me on that tho)
You might be better off using the same battery as the one you had before, simply for the sake of reliability.
It also will depend on what you use this laptop for.

Hey, I really need help. I'm having problems with my laptop. It's a dell inspiron 7559 and was bought around January. Recently I have seen that the battery has no longer been as hot as it used to be when I first started using it. Along with the sleeve on the tip of the screen power adapter (below the part where the adapter lights up) has started to come off, exposing the wires. The battery has continually dropped down its percentage rate ever since I bought it, and it won't go back up. It is currently at 0% battery life and it says when you highlight over the battery icon ( plugged in, not charging). It also happens to show the BIO setup when I start the computer and shows that the batteries wattage and type cannot be determined. In the BIOS setup, the ac adapter type is unknown. The battery has not been through any harsh conditions along with the laptop. I have tried removing the battery, starting up the computer with the ac adapter (which is 130 watts), then adding the battery back, and ac adapter, then turning it on, but it had no effects. If I remove my ac adapter while my computer is on ,it instantly turns off. If someone can support me with this issue, it would be gladly appreciated. Thanks.

A:Laptop battery not charging, battery not identified, 0% battery life

It sounds likely the charge circuit on the mainboard is damaged.  Contact Dell to have the mainboard replaced under warranty.

I have an APC UPS backup and in the management software (PowerChute) they (APC) suggest replacing your battery every 3 years. Well, sure enough, 3 years to the day the self-test began failing. All indications within the software show the battery is fine (assuming I am reading it correctly). It is my assumption that the tests begin failing once that hard-coded date is reached at 3 years.

How do I know if I really need to replace my battery, if the software is just being triggered based on the date?

A:APC battery replacement

I've been using APC UPS battery backup units for several years, and the battery in almost every one of them lasts 5 years or longer.

I don't install and use the PowerChute software because I have no need for it.
