Dell Latitude Rugged 7202 touch not working - "No Pen or touch input is available for this display"

Q: Dell Latitude Rugged 7202 touch not working - "No Pen or touch input is available for this display"

I just buy Dell Latitude Rugged 7202 and touch is not working in either laptop mode or tablet mode, under Setting and PC info getting "No Pen or touch input is available for this display"

Please Help Me

Preferred Solution: Dell Latitude Rugged 7202 touch not working - "No Pen or touch input is available for this display"

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have purchased Gateway ZX 4800-2 from the Best Buy.
The display item at the store was working perfectly and I was be able to use with my fingers. However, the one I have purchased has problem. On the computer properties, it says "No Pen or Touch Input is available for this Display" I do not think the problem is about hardware. But windows 7 might not accept something. Can anyone help me about this problem. System has wireless mouse and keyboard and only one small received came with system where you plug to the usb slot. System has Windows 7 OS on it.
Also, at the device manager, there is something with yellow mark named TACTION. I could not find driver for this name.
When I try to update and locate Gateway Driver DVD, it says already using updated driver.
But still yellow mark is there. I dont know what kind of driver it is and I even do not know what is TACTION is.
Also, when I go to touch portal, it says "Multitouch hardware is not available on your computer"

Hi Reachist! Welcome to SevenForums! Try right-clicking on TACTION and going to properties. Then to the Details Tab and from the drop-down menu choose Hardware IDs. There'll probably be two. Post them back and I'll try and help.

To whom it may concern,
I would like to set my default to my Bluetooth headset for meetings.  FYI-I currently have a microphone issue and it doesn't work.   I am thinking if I can default to my Bluetooth, then I can by pass the laptop's microphone issue and still have meetings via webex or Google hangouts for example.
I am able to "connect" the computer and LG HBS760 successful.
However, can't seem to tell the computer to recognize the blue tooth as it sends the sound the computer fine (not the Bluetooth), however, the audience cannot hear me talk back because of the microphone issue.  Hence... trying to swap the default sound to the Bluetooth.
My Troubleshooting steps...
1) I went to control panel, then "Sound", then "Playback" ... and nothing was listed.  According to the LG Bluetooth help... it said I should see several things displayed, included a "Bluetooth Headset" option... then I should be able to click it as the "default device".

I purchased my computer and all my software with Dell. I purchased an Inspiron 7000, 17" Laptop, with premium support, accidental Damage, max warranty,  Microsoft Office Suit, and Adobe Photoshop  with Elements 13.  The first "version" of my computer was working 100% perfect with no problems. It got accidentally knocked off the table and the prong inside the computer got bent. The power cord couldn't properly charge the computer anymore. I called Dell to have them fix ONLY the power cord and prong, nothing else was wrong with my computer. I got a phone call from Dell about a week after I turned my computer in. They said the repair is taking longer than the expected. I asked why, they said because they are waiting to located at another facility a part for my harddrive.  I was shocked when they said anything about my harddrive nothing was wrong with it and I did not turn my computer in to have the harddrive fixed. They brushed it off never gave me any reason why they were even touching my harddrive!!  After several phone calls/ time / and headache later they offered to send me a refurbished computer 2 months later. That was the best they could do because they could not locate the part they needed for my harddrive.
(Keep in mind my computer "type" is still active on Dells website and is Dells #1 best selling computer, How do they not have the part??!!!

Hello, I recently bought a HP Envy M7 Smart Touch Energy Saver laptop, after a month of using it I just became so irritated by Windows 10 constantly freezing or apps crashing (due to compatibility).  So I Installed Windows 8.1 In order to maintain the touch screen interface in the laptop, after I installed windows 8.1 I downloaded all of the drivers available for my Laptop, after updating every single aspect, my Windows System Information states "No Pen or Touch Input", I cannot seem to find any touch screen drivers in the HP website and there are some drivers in Device Manager with an exclamation mark as "Unknown Devices", I've enabled view hidden devices and there's no sign of any touch screen driver. I made a component test in UFI to see if there was a faulty with the touch screen and there's not, it's just a driver compatibility issue. Any help? Please and thank you

Gday all.
Just curious on 2 upgrades. I am looking to see if a Touch Screen is available and/or if the GPU is upgradeable. I notice that my Ram/CPU usage isnt fully used when I play games but my GPU is.I play games such as CS:GO (Counterstrike Global Offense), Rust and rocket league. They dont run too badly, but I'd prefer a better frame rate. I currently am using a Dell Inspiron 15" 5000 Series laptop.
 - i7 6500U 2.5Ghz,  2.6Ghz turbo
 - 8Gb Ram (DDR3 I believe, speed im unsure of)
 - R5 M335
 - Windows 10 64-Bit
I do believe the model is a 5559 however not too sure, as for some reason it doenst describe it on the box etc.... However I do know the MPN.

A:Dell Inspiron 15" 5000 Touch Screen!?!? GPU Upgrade? CPU Possible Bottleneck?

The GPU is not upgradeable - it's a chip soldered to the mainboard.
The screen is technically upgradeable, but the cost of upgrading will likely approach or exceed 50% of the original cost of the system, as the entire top half of the system need to be replaced.

Hi - my E7440 touch screen went black the other day and I've been unable to get it back. There will be times when the screen turns on, functions normally, but as soon as the PC reboots on reboot its black again. I can connect it to an external monitor and it works, also the touch screen functionality still works while connected to an external monitor.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix the display? I'd really like to be able to use this as an actual laptop again.
Initial research came back with Fn F8 which does not work. Suggestions greatly appreciated

I've bought my first dell laptop a few months ago. It's a black Inspiron 7559. So far I'm very satisfied with its performance. However, recently someone told me that the layer of soft-touch paint all over the back lid and the keyboard surface will react with water in the air and become gooey in a year or two.
I went Googling and noticed that Dell seems to LOVE soft-touch finish and put it on a lot of their models, even on Latitude and older XPS models. So I wanna ask long-time Dell users or Dell staff -
Did your Dell laptop become sticky and gooey? If so, how long did the coating last?
Will the coating on my Inpsiron 7559 become sticky and gooey? If so, how long should I expect the coating to last?

I have Dell Inspiron 5547 laptop (Touch Screen, 15 inches, 16 GB RAM and i7 4th Gen processor, Out of Warranty). Some days back, suddenly the display went dim and anything is hardly visible. After some initial investigation, the display chip (may be VGA or LED display chip) on the motherboard appears to be burnt out (may be due to voltage surge). Even the numbers printed on the chip is not readable because of which it is difficult for the local repairing shops to repair this problem.
I think Dell India Service Center doesn't deal with chip level repair and hence replacing motherboard is the only way they can fix this. This will be very costly (considering that the laptop is not under warranty so will have to pay for warranty extension, motherboard replacement and repair service) and time consuming.
Hence, to avoid all this I have come here to seek some assistance.
If there are anyone using the same laptop (Inspiron 5000 series 5547 Touch Screen Display with i7 4th Gen Processor and 16 GB RAM) then could you please take a clear picture of your laptop's motherboard or if you recognize the display chip then only that should be sufficient. In this case, I can read the chip related number from the image and try to repair it.
What are the charges for buying a warranty for the laptop, motherboard of my laptop and repairing charge?

Request your response and help.

Rohit Kumar

A:Display Issue - Dim Display for Dell Inspiron 5000 (Model 5547) - Touch Screen Display with i7 4th Gen Processor and 16 GB RAM

You'll have to call Dell about the possibility of a warranty extension;  in the US, it's sometimes possible but will likely run over $300 -- or about what a board replacement would cost.
If you're getting video, the GPU is OK -- and it's more likely the power circuit to the backlight that's bad.  It'll likely cost as much to repair as to replace the board -- though you'll still be putting $300-400 into an out of warranty system, so replacing the system may be a better idea (if you do this, consider buying a 3-year warranty with the next system).

To all those who keep on spouting the talking point that "touch" is the future of computing...
In fact is clearly is NOT. At least for the next half century is isn't.

As far as we can tell NOTHING is more efficient than the traditional keyboard and mouse for entering data, it is indisputable.

Perhaps in the following century there will be bionics that will allow those that want to compromise their bodies to use mere thought to transfer that data to a computer, but that is too far down the road to be concerned with now and even the near future, until then the rational, logical and practical issues mean that touch will not be the future except for playing with games or light texting on an WinPhone or Tablet.

A:Touch is NOT the "near" future of computing. Keyboard & mouse is.

In 50 years, the keyboard will still remain. The mouse won't. We've been using a QWERTY keyboard since the age of type writers. We've used computers with a keyboard until the mouse came into the game more than 25 years ago. It's not going to last a long time because if you have a UI that takes advantage of touch input, much like how the GUI took advantage of the mouse, it's gone. Not only that, there's gesture input as well...

Call it a change to how we interact with our PCs...

I don't know if this is a repost of someone else's thread, but I don't seem to find any threads that has any problems similar to mine. I'm very sorry if it is. Basically, there is this slight problem with the monitor I have purchased. It's Philips 220x1sw. I hooked everything up to my computer, and everything worked fine. Up until now, it still works fine. My slight problem is that whenever the display turns off (I use power settings), the screen would say, "Attention: No Video Input." For the screen saver, that message doesn't pop up at all. I have tried both DVI and VGA cables, and the results are pretty much the same. I reinstalled my video card, and the results are the same. I even tried both the DVI slots on my video card. Right now, I'm using DVI. I also searched up the solutions provided on Philips' own site, but it's not really helping me at all. Everything is working fine and dandy, but that message is actually bugging me. I'm beginning to wonder if this is normal or not when the display is shutting off. The display is back to normal once I move the mouse, but after leaving the computer after a certain time, that message would pop up anyways when the display is turning off. Does anyone have any solutions or know if it's like this or not?

As always, helps are appreciated and THANK YOU!

A:Display message: "Attention: No Video Input"

Mine does the same thing when turning off my PC and the monitor is still on. Nothing wrong with it. Is this message on all the time or only when transitioning between sleep/hibernate to full power?

The laptop has vertical lines of dead pixels running across the screen and I want to get the LCD replaced. Now the non touch screen model of this laptop has a Full HD variant (1920x1080) as opposed to the standard 1366x768 WXGA HD display while the touch models only come with the WXGA HD LCDs. Can I replace the LCD of my touch screen model with the FHD one? I have been able to detach the digitiser from the LCD itself and have the hinges and screws so I would assume it would be a simple case of changing one LCD with the other. The replacement touch screen models all come with the digitizer and hinges attached which is not something I require so it would be easier (and cheaper!) if I only got the LCD replaced. Lastly, if this is possible, do I need to purchase any additional cables? If so, which one? Thanks in advance.

A:Replacing Dell 15R 5537 Touch screen LCD with FHD non touch LCD

You're going to need at least the FHD wiring harness:
the screen
and the bezel
You may or may not be able to re-use the back cover/hinge assembly - usually these are different between non-touch and touch versions.

I suspect that this is a out-of-the-box issue (as the power button doesn't light up, either), but maybe I'm missing something...

This particular unit fired up, as expected, and took our standard image. Somewhere along the way (probably during one of its reboots), I noticed that the display went out. Powering it down and back on didn't resolve it, nor did resetting the BIOS. Dell Diags run without issue, and I can boot Windows into Safe Mode...but as soon as I boot Windows normally, it blanks after "Starting Windows" flashes by.

A:Latitude E7440 Display goes Black / Blank after "Starting Windows"

Aarrgghh! I'm kicking myself. It was something I discovered some time ago, and since forgot...

I had them stacked! I shut down one E7440, placed another on top of it, and proceeded to image this second unit. At some point, I must have shifted it ever so slightly...putting it right over whatever the heck is in the cover/lid of the first unit's display!? (A magnetic field, is my guess.) And "blank" goes the second unit's display...knocking out the power button's light, as a bonus.

It worked as expected, when I moved this unit to another location, in order to tap into an HDMI flat-panel. And it blanked out, as soon as I put it back on top of the first E7440. Mystery solved.

Hi, You don't need to spend money to swap. Please try the following steps to disable touchscreen. First, go to the device the manager by opening the "Charm Menu" and search for "Device Manager." If you don't see it, change the search filter to "Settings."Once in the Device Manager, expand "Tab." Then find "Human Interface Devices" and expand it.You should see several "HID-compliant device" listings. Some PCs will call it an HID-Compliant Touch Screen, but yours may vary?if you don't have a touch screen option, you may have to try each HID Compliant ____ until one works. When asked if you want to disable the device, select "yes." That's it! The touch screen on your Windows 8 device should be disabled.   You can turn back on any time. Regards.

ISSUEThe 720 touchpad and touchscreen are the worst.  This issue started out of the box before I had even gone on line.  When the touchpad does work, the right click/left click distinction doesn't work and I have to use the screen, when it's working, for the long hold until the right click options appear. When the screen is working, the ability to close a window and touching it just the right way is dubious at best.  I've tried modifying sensitivity, etc, in the control panel, but there is no difference.   When both window and touchpad stop functioning, I plug in an old HP mouse I have, but when I'm mobile, this means running the mouse down my leg if I don't have a surface to place my laptop upon.  And it also means carrying a mouse with me everywhere I go.  My line of work is often standing and walking with clients so  not really possible in my line of work.   RETURN/REPAIR OPTIONS AREN'T OFFERED OR ARE NOT PRACTICALTo back up a bit, I attempted to return this to BestBuy, but was four days beyond the allowable return date.  I contacted Lenovo, but it's all about mailing it in or turning the laptop over and being without anything for a few days.  Hard to find those few days.  I've tried to live it, but it's been an enormous killer of productivity, not to mention incredible frustration and some embarrsassing typos.    PAST YOGA BUILD WAS GREAT - WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE 720?My last Yoga 710 wa... Can't find a way to downgrade touch [email protected], any solution? Obviously, I am not the only victim. It is ridiculous that your recommended update will cause such trouble. In other thread, someone mentioned to replace screen. Really? The new update caused hardware damage?

Lenovo automatically installed a BIOS (1.39) and firmware update in November.  Lenovo Vantage says these updates were completed successfully. The touchscreen and pen stopped worked after that.  Windows doesn't recognize the pen or touch input anymore.  Firmware tool says "device not found".   Latest BIOS update (1.40) and Windows update in December didn't help.

My Ideapad S415 touch screen has suddenly stopped working.  I've had a tech connect to my PC and try a BIOS reload of default settings, plus unistalling all "HID" devices in Device Manager with no resolution.  I've also tried a system restore with no luck. The system properties does see the touch capability. Suggestions? Thanks.

A:Ideapad S415 Touch - touch screen stopped working

hi Hersh,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
First do a Power Drain
     (If the battery is removable)
Remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec.
Turn the computer back on and see if the Touch capability is now detected under System Properties,
                  If not
I suggest you contact Lenovo Technical Team about the Issue as this may be a device detection issue.

When our website users click on an html attachment embedded on a web-page in IE9, the download manager will not display the "Open" option. It will only display "Save" and "Cancel" which our users don't like, having to save the
html document in a folder to open it. Whereas, when downloading attachments like pdf, word etc. all three options are displayed.

Is there any setting to tweak , which will display all the 3 options for HTML attachments as well?

A:IE9 download manager will not display "Open" option (only "Save" and "Cancel" is displayed) for downloading HTML documents.

As you know, the Open-Save-Cancel dialog box helps you prevent your computer from affecting by virus while downloading.
So I suggest you test to reset all zones to a lower level temporarily and then please attempt to download this html attachment again.

However, since you can normally download the other documents, I suspect there is some restriction in the website which you are trying to view. I recommend you to contact the administrator of that website if possible.
could you please send me the link of the website from where you are trying to download the html attachment?

Good Evening All,

I having a problem with my Dell Latitude D610.

I went to update the BIOS and it said that the battery is not installed despite the laptop running solely off of battery power!

I have ran the dell device diagnostic and device manager and no issue appears to be with the battery. When you check the battery info in the BIOS settings it says the batteries are not installed and also when you log into XP it constantly says running off of AC power even when its not plugged in!

Any one got any ideas what could be causing this and how it can be solved?

Thanks Nick

A:Dell Latitude "battery not installed" preventing BIOS update

It may be referring to the CMOS battery which is wired to the computer beneath the keyboard. The battery can be replaced for $8.95 to $29.95 depending on where you purchase...

But regardless, you do have a problem that must be resolved. The D610 has been one strange little irrelevant problem after another... but you cannot afford to irritate it and have that mysterious unremovable password appear as it has on so many D610 and D620 Dells.
