Computer won't Detect Nvidia Geforce 730 Graphics card

Q: Computer won't Detect Nvidia Geforce 730 Graphics card

HELP. I tried uninstalling old nvidia drivers. When I put my new one in, there wasn't an old graphics card in place. I tried youtubing possible solutions. I'm considering taking my pc the best buy so they can hook it up, but I don't wanna spend more money. The power watts meet it's standard. I had to buy a new one. I KNOW it's in the right place inside, but my computer won't detect it. The PNY software DVD won't detect it. It says not found. I understand that you have to install a diver that's compatible, and I tried that, but it says checking system... and then It can't find it! It's been months. I uninstalled every nvidia driver or thing on my computer, which now makes my screen look small, which is really annoying. please help!

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Computer won't Detect Nvidia Geforce 730 Graphics card

You need to tell use more about your computer, what is the make and model of it, what is the model of the motherboard, what is the model of the power supply? What version of Windows?

Is it the Geforce GT 730 you bought or something else? What is the intended use of the new graphics card?

And what graphics card or GPU did you have before adding this card?

Do you have the monitor connected to the new graphics card or do you by chance still have it connected to the integrated graphics that many computer have? It needs to be connected to the new card before turning the computer on.

Have you made sure the card is seated fully in the slot?

Have you tried using the latest drivers from the NVidia website: http://www.geforce.com/drivers

Do you have access to another computer to try the card to make sure its not defective?

I just installed windows 7 professional last night and when trying to personalize my theme, i realized that i couldn't change window color. It only gave me the contrast themes unlike in vista where i could choose the color and it would still look like vista. I'm not sure if that last sentence made much sense, but i hope you get the idea. I can still use the desktop backgrounds and sounds, but not the aero window colors.

When I go to device manager, the only graphics adaptor it shows is the standard VGA. When I had Vista I didn't have any problem. But now that I have Windows 7, the OS won't detect the graphics card. Is it not compatible with Windows 7? I saw another post with a fix for the 8400M GT, and was wondering if maybe there was hope for me.

Thanks in advance for any advice

Google/goto NVIDIA drivers downloads on Nvidia website, select your graphics card and 32/64 bit. It should give you the latest driver to download. (195.62)

Western Digital Caviar Green 500GB
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB)
MSI P67A-G45 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67

Ok so you know what i got, and the MSI Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 graphics card drivers will not work with my system. I think that it is Win 7 cause if i install it in my old desktop it works like a dream and it is running Win XP SP3, and there is no problems at all and I just completed a duel boot with a second hard drive on above system and running xp on it as well and it works fine with it. Any ideas how to make it work? If need more info just post

A:MSI Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 graphics card

I assume you are using the Windows 7 driver and not the XP driver on it,

NVIDIA DRIVERS 280.26 WHQL

might be better to go with the one previous as I haven't been seeing much in the way of good reports on the latest,

NVIDIA DRIVERS 275.33 WHQL

Also is this an untouched windows disk, or has it been modified in some way?

Hey, I've been looking for a good but not overpriced graphics card for my new computer, which frankly has a terrible card which comes with it. I was wondering if the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti was any good, the most graphically intensive game I will be running on it is Skyrim.

So do you think it's good, and if so which graphics level (Low, Medium, High, Very High) do you think I'd be able to run it on?

Thanks,

Hello, I recently performed a clean install of Windows 7 x64 Ultimate onto my computer. While doing so, I had to unplug my graphics card and use the onboard video, otherwise I'd get an error about unexpected restarts.

After installing, Windows 7 doesn't detect the graphics card (the card works, but it doesn't show up under the device manager and I can't install nVidia drivers). If I use the BIOS to switch to onboard video, then that shows up on the device manager and works fine, but I use this PC for gaming so I'd prefer to use the video card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Hello,
I have an alienware laptop with an nvidia 335m gt graphics card and it works perfectly for about a week. Then after an update, it can't be detected. This is the second time this has happened, the first time I just reformatted and it was back. Now after about the same amount of updates, it's not being detected again and the system reverts to one called "dell chipset family". The nvidia geforce program is still installed, however when I run it, it can't find the graphics card either. Please help lol I don't want to have to reformat every week because I'm not savvy enough to figure out what the problem is.

Thank you
Ricky

A:Cannot detect my nvidia 335m gt graphics card after update

You should not be installing this update.

Download the video drivers directly from Dell.

Uninstall any video drivers you have now.

Install the drivers you downloaded from Dell.

It will now be fixed.

Laptops are different, you need the driver from Dell and do not let windows update it.

Make sure windows is set to let you know about updates, but let you decide whether to install them, do not install any video drivers using windows update.

Over the last 2 days I have been trying to install a new graphics card, PNY nvidia GeForce GT 430 on my HP Pavilion Elite m9515y Desktop PC. I removed the previous graphics card (nvidia GeForce 9600 GS) uninstalled the nvidia drivers and ran Driver Sweeper to clean up anything that was remaining. I have been using this pc for over 2 years. In the Spring of this year the pc kept crashing. I have found out that the graphics card is reaching temperatures of 105 degrees C when playing games. I have cleaned all the fans in the pc with air.

I have been told the heat sync is probably no longer functioning correctly.

GPU temp is 66 deg C when the pc is in normal use and fan speed 40%.

As soon as I play games the fan goes to 100% and the temperatures rise until the card crashes.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I was having problems with the Nvidia chip in this laptop. Blowing out and cleaning the fans didn't seem to do any good so I took the advice of others and cleaned off the old thermal paste and applied new. It definitely appears to have help. No laptop shut downs since. I used Arctic MX-4. Search Youtube for instructions.

Also, for peace of mind, I uninstalled any temperature monitoring program.

Hi there

Try the HARDWARE settings on your monitor --you might have to use the handset to get the monitor menu (picture).

There's usually a setting "Auto Scan " / "Auto resize" or similar which should correct the computer W10 image to the correct size. (Aspect ratio setting).

Also set brightness / contrast / colour / sharpening correctly -- makes a HUGE difference. If you have a GAMMA control on the hardware settings use that as it's often better than brightness + contrast combo.

people often forget the hardware menu - especially when using TV's as monitors.

Cheers

Now when i start up my computer normally "start windows normally" i get blue screen and the computer re-starts. When i run dxdiag it says i have no graphics card so im not really sure if its broken or if i have re installed it incorrectly.

Any help with what the most likely cause of this would be is greatly appreciated.

Power down and re-seat the graphics card again. If it requires an extra power cord make sure that is connected. If it has a cooling fan attached I'd watch to make sure it spins up.

Hi,I have in the past had a lot of problems with my Nvidia K2000M on my W530. Windows have kept disabling this due to "code 43" (Yellow triangle by the display driver).I have solved this by reinstalling Nvidia drivers, but when this happened every 3 days or so, I started to suspect something was wrong. And I believe I was right.... I tried to uninstall the driver (probably a mistake) before reinstalling the driver, but now the graphics card cannot be detected at all. When I try to install Nvidia drivers I get the following error message: "NVIDIA Installer cannot continue. The computer then starts up with low graphcis and bad resolution. Here's the deal,
I purchased a HP Pavilion dv9540us Entertainment Notebook PC and upgraded to Windows 7, after I got a virus and let Microsoft Techs into my laptop remotely in an effort to remove the worm and they deleted some key OS Files. So, they were kind enough to give me Windows 7 Professional & install Office 2010, but failed to inform me that upgrading from Vista to Windows 7 would render my Nvidia graphics card useless. So, here I am trying to figure out what to do and where to get the correct Drivers to get my HDMI & Other ports working again. I tried talking to HP, but to them it's a matter of national security & if your not willing to "Grea$e the wheels" they're not willing to give up the "seceret." Although, They did tell me that I will need to download a chipset driver to my HP Pavilion dv9540us that is compatible with Windows 7 and then my Nvidia graphics card will be detectible by my Device manager. Then I would need to update my Nvidia Drivers, Reboot, and I should be up and running. Sounds good, but what is the HP Driver I need? Does anyone have a link or any better input?
Because, I am about ready to Smash this thing or hunt down some HP Support guy.

Hello…
This is my first time on the forum, thanks in advance for your help.
I have a GeForce 8800 GTS graphics card in a machine that I built and I can’t get the graphic card to work properly. I’ve installed and enabled the drivers – when I reboot the machine, I get the Windows 7 startup screen and then it goes blank. I reboot in Safe Mode – disable drivers – reboot, and it works fine with the integrated onboard drivers. My 6yr old HP monitor is connected to the graphics card using a DVI to VGA adapter (would this cause a problem? I was told no). The motherboard doesn’t have a dedicated video output, so the video I’m getting from integrated drivers is passing through this card. Everything in the machine is working fine except for this problem. I’m not a gamer, but I would eventually like to do video work on this machine and would like to get this card to work properly. In a couple of weeks I will have the opportunity to put this card in another machine but until then is there anything I can do to diagnose the problem?

OS – Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1
CPU Type - DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, 2600 MHz (13 x 200) 5200+

A:Graphics Card Problem - NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS

"Integrated drivers" - I suppose that you mean the generic Windows VGA drivers.

Has your hardware ever worked in Windows 7?

Windows 7 is pretty good at including drivers, but it may not include drivers for your nVidia nForce 570 SLI chipset. (I had that with my nVidia/AMD laptop.)

They're available at www.nvidia.com. Make sure that you get the correct bit depth (32 bit, from what you've posted), and the AMD version (not Intel).

I recently reinstalled windows and replaced my old NVIDEA Geforce 9600GT which finally died with a new Geforce GTX 460. However, when I installed the drivers, it completely disabled my motherboard's onboard Realtek Azalia soundcard, and for the last few days I've had no sound at all. Nothing I've done has fixed the problem, and every time I try to uninstall the drivers for everything relating to my video card, the HDMI audio devices reinstall themselves from no discernible source every single time I boot up like a virus.

I'm about ready to take this pathetic video card back to the shop and demand a refund and get a video card that is not going to screw with my computer like this.

I don't use the single HDMI port on my video card, I use both of my monitors on the DVI ports. I really need some help with figuring out how to get the sound working again through the old audio (output/mic) jacks on the back of the PC to get my speakers and headset working once more.

I have a AMD Sempron 3100+ 1.8ghz, an agp slot 3.0, 8x. a 250watt power supply. and windows xp. If you could help me out in any way I'll be very greatful. Thank you for your time.

Regret if this sounds like an entry-level problem: I've been trying to install a PNY GeForce 5200 graphics card (PCI format) for my son's video game use on my XP system and keep getting a black screen after the Microsoft start-up visuals appear once I reboot. I've double-checked that the card is installed securely in the PCI slot, and connected the monitor to correctly to the VGA plug on the new card, per the instructions, but after rebooting, it always returns to a black screen after the Microsoft graphics intro.

Last night I reattached the monitor to the normal VGA connection and checked out the internet for any info on troubleshooting this installation process, and saw a few remarks from users who had bought the GeForce 5200 on Amazon that the instructions were incomplete and that the existing graphics card has to be disabled or uninstalled before the new card can be properly installed (stands to reason, but the PNY instructions don't provide any directions for the beginner).

If anyone has any experience in installing this type of card sucessfully on their XP system and can offer any simple steps to disable/uninstall the current graphics card, it would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, IMsci

Hi,

I successfully installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit by choosing custom install on my Sony Vaio VGN-NR21S. I didnt delete my Windows Vista Home Edition 32-bit recovery partition.

I am having difficulty in updating the graphics card which is a Nvidia Geforce 8400M GT. I downloaded a desktop 8400 driver from Nvidia site(UK) for me.

I then used the mobility modder tool for Nvidia and it modified the inf file. I then ran the Setup.exe from the Nvidia directory.

The problem is that i keep getting a message saying "The System has not been modified" after running the setup.exe

I then tried the notebook 8400M GT driver from Nvidia site(even though its not supported by Sony) That didnt work.

So i then tried using the Mobility modder on the notebook 8400M driver but the same problem occurs.

I am not confident in modifying the inf file outlined in the following:

A:Problem with updating Nvidia Geforce 8400M GT graphics card

This wasn't what you asked, but -

Can you install the Vista graphics driver?

I had to do something like that with my Compaq notebook (8200M graphics). Since doing that, I was able to get drivers from Windows Update or use the generic nVidia mobile drivers. I can't tell you whether it was necessary, but it may have helped.

GeForce GTX 970 settlement website opens, Nvidia will pay graphics card owners $30

Nvidia?s paying the price for the GeForce GTX 970?s memory controversy?literally. The GTX 970 refund website is now live after Nvidia agreed to pay GTX 970 owners $30 each to settle a class action lawsuit.

The false advertising lawsuit stemmed from a pair of hardware inconsistencies that prompted a not-quite-apology from Nvidia?s CEO. The most obvious is the GeForce GTX 970?s notorious 4GB RAM allotment, which Nvidia split into a full-speed 3.5GB segment as well as a drastically slower 512MB segment without telling customers. The company also erroneously claimed the card had 64 render output units while in reality it had just 56.

Well, some of those users. You?re eligible only if you purchased a GeForce GTX 970 graphics card from Nvidia, its add-in card partners (like EVGA and Asus), or an authorized retailer between September 1, 2014 and August 24, 2016, and only in the U.S. You might also be eligible if you purchased a desktop computer with a GTX 970 from an authorized retailer in that time frame.

Don?t dilly-dally if you?re eligible. You must file a claim by November 8 if you plan on cashing in. The court is expected to approve the settlement in December.

Hello all, I'm looking for a bit of insight from anyone here who might've seen this problem before or knows what is up. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, restarting, etc. When I disable the 1080 in the laptop, the problem ceases. I just bought this laptop 3 weeks ago from Amazon, so I'm trying to figure out if this is a simple fix or do I need to get a refund.

Text disappears at random on the screen, there are random colors stretched across the screen from a lot of images/colors and in game there are black lines flying around the screen stemming from character models/textures in game. I don't have a second monitor ATM to try.

Here are some images of what happens.

i have a geforce fx 5200 8x agp 128 mb graphic card. it worked fine for me for about an year. but now suddenly only 64 mb of video ram is detected by my system. i checked the 'dxdiag' dialogue box and it also shows only 64 mb of video ram. reinstalling the drivers, the card itself and tweaking different bios settings has not worked for me. what to do? how can this happen? can a part of video card memory just die like this? if not, then what can i do to restore the 'hidden' 64 mb of it? any answers, suggestions etc. will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

A:GeForce Nvidia fx 5200 128mb graphics card, only 64 mb is detected?

I haven't looked up the specs on your card, but usually they are split in two ie 64 + 64 = 128Meg . Even though it's only one card.
I know my 512Meg Vid card does this. It reports two cards in Device Manager as 256M (even though it's only one card)

I don't know all the ins and outs, but I suppose it's faster doing it this way

hey there,

so i've got this new nvidia geforce 6200 agp graphics card. i've fitted it into my motherboard and now i need to install it on my computer but the cd that was supposed to come with package is missing. i bought the card from a compusa closing sale so i can't return it and get one with the installation cd included. when add hardware wizard pops up it says "the hardware was not installed because the wiard cannot find the necessary software." the installation cd includes: geforce drivers for microsoft, microsoft directx 8.0 and 9.0, nvidia demos and desktop wallpapers. can i just go to nvidias website and download a driver and directx9 then direct the hardware wizard to those downloads instead of the missing installation cd? what should i do?

Hi everybody. I recently finished my first build, and am currently trying to work though some problems that I hope someone can help me with.

So as soon as I got it working I decided to test out my games. Hitman Blood Money, and Left4Dead worked perfectly fine. I decided next logical test would be Team Fortress 2. When that started up it worked initially. After a few minutes and graphical tweaks it started trying to redisplay the game. It flipped out, stopped displaying text and buttons, and then only displayed 4 slightly different colored giant squares on the screen. I hit alt+F4, and ctrl+alt+delete to try and get out, which didnt work. The computer just restarted on its own.

Luckily it started back up without a hitch, so I tried Garry's Mod. Same thing happened. At this point i decided to reinstall the graphics drivers. After that finished I tried again, same thing happened. This time i was fortunate enough to alt+F4 out in time, so it didnt restart. After this I decided to look towards my Nvidia options for the answer.

I changed the refresh rate to 75 hertz (Highest Option), and changed the performance settings from "Quality" to "Performance".

After this, again, I tried TF2 and it finally worked! ... temporarily. I got into a game and it seemed to work great, until I exited out and a new problem arrose. The previous problem only happened in games, but this one was both in and out of them. This one was leaving stray pixels on the screen whenev... Read more

A:Nvidia Geforce 9500 Graphics Card Grainy Issue

Sorry for the double post, but the Edit option was gone... ? I think... weird...

Anyway, If any of your think this is more a game issue, could you please tell me. That way I can move onto the steam forums instead. I think it belongs here though, because to me it seems like more of a hardware issue

If it is a problem with my graphics card then I'll need to know before the end of the month so I can ship it back to newegg for a replacement so please if any of you have any idea (Even a slight idea) I would greatly appreciate it.

Will it work? I don't want it to blow up my computer. I have:

eMachines 1161-07
Windows Vista Home Premium
2.10 GHz processor speed
3 GB of RAM
32-bit

This comp came with an nVidia geforce 6150e I think that's what it's called. How do I check power supply, card slot type, etc. Thanks in advance.

A:Solved: Will nVidia GeForce 9400GT graphics card work with my system?

Looks like you do have a PCI express X16 slot for a card.
The 6150 is integrated.
That 250 watt power supply is weak, even for a 9400GT.

Hey guys, I have searched a lot of forums but haven't found any relevent answers. I am sorry if this is a repeat.

What happened is that I disabled my nvidia graphic card from the control panel and it was too late until I realised my mistake as I had already pressed the restart button. Now I try to start my pc but all that happens is that I hear the sounds I always hear but nothing appears in the screens. I have tried several monitors. I have unhooked the monitor from the nvidia and connected it to the onboard gpu and still no luck. I tried resetting the bios but that didn't help either.

CPU:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00 ghz

GPU:
ZOTAC Nvidia GeForce GT610 Synergy Edition.

A:I disabled my Nvidia Geforce GT610 graphics card accidentally and now I can't see a thing

You'll not make that mistake again and neither will I. You can't see anything when Windows boots but you know it's there. Maybe there's a way round this but I never found it and ended up reinstalling Windows.

Hi guys,
Dumb question alert...what are my graphics card upgrade possibilities for the XPS 8900?
Presumably, that's limited by the motherboard and other factors?
Enlighten me! :-)
Why is it that when I buy a 1500 euro pc on the French Dell site, I can't have an easy upgrade path PRESENTED TO ME when I log on? I mean, I want to buy their products - does Dell not want that?!
Don't understand it. It should be part and parcel of the pc-buying experience.
Best,

Hi, not sure if this is supposed to go in this section, but I have a HP dv6615em laptop and it has a NVIDIA GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M graphics card. I recieved the laptop at christmas and ever since then I have been experiencing a reoccuring problem with the display/ driver/ hardware??? What happens is that the display will freeze, then the display will turn black, after some time a blue screen will appear with information regarding what has happened but this only stays for a couple of secinds, the computer will then re- start its self, the problem report and solution is the same everytime that it has been caused by the dispaly driver and to check either microsoft update and the Nvidia website. I have tried everything that I can think of!!!!
I am getting a bit despirate now as I am an A-Level student and have lost projecvt work thanks to this problem!
Has anyone ever had/ or still have this problem??????

A:My Computer Can't detect my new graphics card

Do you have required power connections to it ?
Tried another PCIx slot ?
Monitor connected to the right place ?
Can't be problem because of another GPU for BOOT at least, in the OS later on maybe, if it's different than old one.

You need to post the brand and model. That way we can find the model and see if you have slots to install a graphics card.
I'm guessing you have a graphics chip on the motherboard that has died.

O... Here's my dillema.   My HP NVIDIA card (HP p/n 466762-001 rev:M03) in my HP Model: 9520f Windows 7 Ultimate machine failed.   I replaced it with an ASUS NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT card (p/n 5188-8004, asus p/n C403H) that came from a spare HP Pavillion Model a6150y Vista machine I had on hand. The initial VID/Graphics card failure and susequent replacement caused much havock with Windows and some other stuff (ie, not booting/loading Windows etc...) and after much effort I was able to get everything loading & working reasonable well again.   But the problem I'm still having is with the old drivers (removing them and all their remnants) and loading the new drivers for the ASUS NVIDIA card that is now in my machine.  I've tried normal uninstalls as well as the GURU 3D.com DDU uninstall.  I think (and it appeares) that all the old NVIDIA drvers and other software has been uninstalled because I can not find any of it in the normal locations.   But I am still unable to install the NVIDIA 8500GT drivers for the ASUS card from the NVIDIA site or even the NVIDIA drivers/software updates that Windows Update has detected and suggested in Windows updates.  The insalls start out fine but soon fail to complete. Evidently I (and my brother who was in my machine remotely for a good 6 hours because he is an IT/Computer tech and is ten times more knowledgable than I on this) are missing something very... Mermiatwd, welcome to the forum. I suggest that you try Revo Uninstaller free version to see if it solves you problem.  I use the Advanced option.  It removes the program from the HDD and the remnants from the BIOS.  I have used it for years with great success with removing those difficult to remove programs. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.
