I attempted to contact HP is regard to the issue that I am experiencing, but cannot as my warranty expired on 6/22/16. I'm hoping someone e here can provide insight. When I turned my Stream on this afternoon, it wouldn't boot. Odd, since it was fully charged last night, so I went ahead and plugged it in. Upon doing so, I encountered a black screen stating my internal battery was nearly at capacity. What precisely does that mean? I am able to use the notebook as long as I keep it plugged in. Also, while plugged in I receive a message stating that it's connected to a power source and the battery is not charging. The moment I unplug it, it shuts down. I'm more than upset in regard to this new and unwanted development. The notebook is only 15 months old. Is there any way to salvage it or am I looking at buying a new one? I've always used HP desktops, laptops, and notebooks; now I will never purchase one again. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
When you hover the mouse cursor to the battery icon? What does it say? Plug in not charging? If yes then follow the steps herehttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/windows-10-update-prevents-batt... Cheers!

Hello priscellaf, Sorry to know that ! Please try Hard Reset before we try anything : Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for a full minute. Plug in the AC Adapter ( leave the battery out for the moment ) and see if the notebook will start. You might want to take a look at this document: Battery Does not Power Notebook or Hold a Charge. It suggests troubleshooting steps to determine if the problem is the battery, the power supply, or the system board. You might find the answer to your battery/power issue as you work through the steps in that HP support article. Last night I was confronted by a family member about an HP Stream 11 that I had purchased for them not powering on. They explain that they had opened the lid, and pushed the power button as normal. However, nothing showed on the screen, so they assumed the notebook was dead and went to charge it. The notebook still displayed nothing on the screen. This was the point where they came to me looking for a solution and I notice the light on the power button symbol is flashing. I press a few keys, waiting to see any sign of life, but there was none that came. I ended up holding down the power button to hard shutdown the machine and it turned off. I then proceed to click the button, to no avail. I told them to keep charging the device and I would mess with it today, as I assumed that it was a battery issue. Today the notebook still is not booting at all. I've noticed that when plugged in, the charging light - a dot right next to the cord input - is not even lit. This light will not light up no matter what outlet I plug the charging adapter in. Because of this, I suspect the issue may be worse and might be a motherboard problem, but I have no sure answer or way of finding an answer. I proceed to search Google to find solutions to my problem, only one forum post I've found and it was to hold the power button for 8 seconds and see if it would boot afterwards. That solution did not work. I am hoping that by posting here on the HP forums, I will get some swift advice on how I c... Read more

I bought a HP Stream Notebook PC13 with Windows 10 already installed. I only use this computer to surf the web, but it does have an active trial version of Microsoft Office. There are no additional programs, photos, videos, etc. downloaded to the computer beyond the original bundle. The notebook has a 28GB hard drive and 3.58 GB are free. I cannot run the Windows 10 update with so little free space on the hard drive. I have a number of files that I think I can delete (Evernote and McAfee), but still not enough to download the Windows 10 update. What's the easiest way of identifying trash to delete? Finally, any idea why HP built this notebook in a manner that updates are cumbersome/problematic?Read other answers

Hello, I am in need of a bit of help. I have a old Gateway 7510GX notebook that wont charge, and will only run if plugged in to the wall. I am 99% sure that the charging circuit has gone bad, because the charge indicator icon stays at 66 percent for ever.
Do you think I should open up the laptop and check the board for burnt components, or what?
Also, External battery chargers for laptops go for big $$$. So would it be possible to remove the cells and hook them to a external charger. (I have a slow charger made for RC Li-Ion batteries that I think would be perfect).

My HP Stream Notebook PC 14 keeps shutting off, as in the screen just goes black. I can try turn it on, sometimes it turns on for a few seconds then turns off, other times it just works as normal. But now and then, I can't use it at all because it just won't turn on. Strangely, when it does turn on, the cursor usually isn't on the screen and only appears after about a minute. It's fully charged and I have the charger plugged in. It has enough memory, and I have seen problems like this where laptops have overheated, but the HP Stream Notebook PC 14 has a solid state drive, and it never feels warm. Any help?
I have resolved my issue. The problem was that the laptop casing near the area of the power button had become a little bit loose. Everytime I moved the laptop it must have activated the power button and turned if off. I had a look on the underside of the laptop, and found a screw underneath one of those rubber stickers in the corners. It turns out that it had loosened itself over time. I screwed it back in, the casing is now more tight, and the problem has stopped occuring.Read other 4 answers

I want to know what kind of micro sd card is better to use for an HP Stream 13 4G? And what kind of stuff can I put on the micro sd card? My memory is almost all full because of the updates, could I put some of the stuff in the sd card?
Hi Lori, I use SanDisc Memory card for both my Laptop and Camera.. Its really good.. Compact And excellent performance.. I would suggest u to by a 64GB or 128GB Memory card for storage.. But 128gb sd cards are more than 2 or 3 times expensive than the 64gb memory cards.. 64gb would cost u around $30 but 128gb would be costing around $70 or more.. So, wat i would suggest is to buy an 1TB External Hard drive which would cost u around $50... Western Digital and Seagate are good.. I prefer WD and i own one..So u can do like this - keep a budget of $80 and purchase a 1TB WD Ext HDD and a 64 GB micro SD card.. (Product pricing may vary).. But remember this - Internal Hard disc or the External HDD, both a very delicate.. Should be handled with atmost care.. You Drop down your HDD once, thats it, its gone.. Dead.. But Memory cards are strong, can handle Drops, bumps and pressures.. And yes, i both HDD and mmc, u can store Media files (Pics, Movies and Songs), Software files (exe files only), games and other documents.. But u can not "install" Softwares or games into mmc ot ext HDD, there r chances that it wont work.. Also mmc are Compact but Ext HDD are not.. So upto u to decide.. Do any lights stay on when the screen goes blank or does everything go dark? It sounds like the screen stays on when you are in the BIOS since you were able to run the diagnostics. If holding the power button down for 10 seconds does not power it off, leave the power supply disconnected until the battery fully discharges. Reconnect it and attempt to boot it, this has worked for some posters here for the Stream notebooks.Read other 2 answers
I was trying to fix an HP Stream Notebook 13's (HP Stream Notebook - 13-c002tu) small HD size problem. The HD was showing a total size of 29 GB. I don't know if it was originally sold with this size of an HD - I find it highly unlikely. I tried to reset it using the HP reset via UEFI. I saw HP partitioning the drive so I assumed it would be fixed. After resetting, windows showed HD size was still the same. I took a look at the disk with Windows Disk Management, and there wasn't really any unpartitioned space. What should I do?
Hi, HP Stream is made specifically for browsing purposes only. The agent that sold you the laptop should have educated you about HP Stream Notebooks properly. As the name itself. It was made for surfing purposes only. So theres no need to FIX the computer. What you need is an upgrade. If you want to store more files or docs then get an sd card. It is listed in the overview of the computer specification Store it in the cloudGet 1 TB or 100 GB of OneDrive storage for 1 year, included with Office 365, to easily store, share and enjoy your photos, videos, and documents.2 http://www8.hp.com/ca/en/products/laptops/product-detail.html?oid=8929217#!tab=featuresCheers!Read other 4 answers
I got this Toshiba Satellite 32PFL3312/10 - But now there is some problems
The battery indicator says that the the charger is plugged in, and IS charging. but it doesnt charge the battery.. no charge is taking place :-/ Its says there is "0" battery left. I have triede everything.. i toke the battery out, made sure there wasnt any dust etc.. i have tried holdning the power key down in 30 sec and a lot more. everytime i unplug the charger the system instantly swiched off.. I have tried to change the power plan from balanced to saver.
Then i tried to delete the Microsoft ACPI Compliant control method battery from the decive manager, and made it search for it again. This step made the battery start to charge for about 10-15 sec, and then it stopped again.
Now im kind of frustrated... So i thought that maybe it was an windows update problem, so i tried to update - but i got several updates "hanging" but now it wont update.. ! Comes with update errors. tried microsoft fix it, it didnt help.
Then i thought, okay... then i will try to restore to the factory condition, But nothing happens, i have tried all the guides from the Toshiba forums, pressing "0" - I did nothing... Then i tried pressing "F8" it didnt nothing... Then i tried the "F12" still nothing.
Im going nuts now... Hope someone in here can help me....

My notebook is not charging. I don't know if it's the charger that's not working or could it be the charging port on the notebook itself. I have been charging it for the past few days and it's doing pretty well until I plugged it on a socket and didn't charge anymore. Tried checking the charger, it smelled a little burnt on the blue end with the pin and also on the charging port. When I plugged it, there was no popping sound whatsoever that could lead to me assuming it had a short circuit. Checked the socket, it was compatible with the charger. shannel First of all, you're confusing memory with disk space. The Win10 Upgrade typically needs 20GB of disk space, and as your laptop most likely has only a 32GB drive, it has nowhere near enough space to do the upgrade. Second, the 2GB you mention is system memory, which is totally unrelated to disk space. Personally I would advise strongly AGAINST doing the Win10 Upgrade, as it is a LOT of work and even when that's done, folks have complained about later, not being able to apply the Cumulative Updates, and there is a BIG one coming out the beginning of August! Here is a link from somone with a similar model who did perform the upgrade: How I was able to install Windows 10 on HP Stream 13 (32GB S... - HP Support Forum - 5179626Read other 1 answers

On the left side is a card slot. You put one of these in the card slot. An SD card you can buy at any office or camera store. To insert a card: Hold the card label-side up, with connectors facing the slot, insert the card into the slot, and then push in on the card until it is firmly seated. To remove a card: Press in on the card it until it pops out Once the card is in the slot it will show up as a device and you need to give it a drive letter, generally D: After that, you can move all the files in your libraries (documents, pictures, etc) and your downloads folder to the SD card.
