Keyboard driver fail to load

Q: Keyboard driver fail to load

Hi guys,
I need help..
I've been using winxp sp2 for about 4 years now, I rarely use my desktop pc so after about 2 months since the last use, I started it just now.
The keyboard is not working, I checked the device manager and the property says, the driver fail to load, missing or corrupted.
- Uninstall and install didn't work
- Safe mode didn't work
- replacing keyboard didn't work
the keyboard only work in bios (at least that means it is not broken).

I read somewhere here about similar problem but that one is on laptop and related to bad battery, well mine is desktop. On some other source I checked, it could be related to registry or something, not sure.
I'm a novice user.

anybody can help? If there has been a post somewhere regarding similar problem, kindly point me to the right direction.
appreciate it, thanks! :)

Preferred Solution: Keyboard driver fail to load

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Dunno if this is the right place for this type of prblem, I dont know much at all about this stuff. I tried searching around but I only found stuff about this with different drivers.

My problem is I just rebooted my pc yesterday, and after logging into windows and getting to the desktop, there was ared msg that popped up from avast antivirus saying it couldnt update or something, then it my pc rebooted, ever since after I logged into windows there was a sound like you hear when you get an error message, then my pc rebooted or crashed, and it keeps happening, I used safe mode and looked at the event viewer and it says:

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
Aavmker4
FileDisk
Fips
NPPTNT
Processor

I went to the link it says to goto for more information but it only says to verify you have the latest drivers and stuff, i'm not sure how to do that or even what drivers I have..

My main concern is, is this a something that can be fixed, or can it be a hardware problem and my pc is just screwed, its pretty old though, like 5 years or so, never had any problems like this before :x.

A:start driver fail to load

a search on this listed that many causes it made your head swim
boot into the recovery console and run first
chkdsk /r
then try
fixboot
it could be virus or malware related if the above does not work do the five steps

Greetings all,
I am working on creating a new master image to deploy windows 10 64 to a new of different models throughout our organization. Currently I am having difficulties getting the drivers to be "auto Detected"

The Sysprep command I am using is :
sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown /unattend:C:\windows\system32\sysprep\10answer.xml

When the PC boots after being sysprep it does not detect and install the drivers.

I have loaded the uncompressed drivers to C:\windows\INF and created a folder called drivers. I set the permissions for pretty much anyone to have full control. If I manually point the driver install wizard to that folder they all install correctly. This previously worked in 7 32 bit without any thought.

I tried adding the driver path to Pass 2 and 5 in my answer file without any change.

I'm not sure I am going down the right path, and am curious to see if anyone has encountered this and made it work. Thanks for any time you may spend with this.

A:Driver Auto Load Fail with sysprep

Looks like it just wont play with unsigned without inserting through DSIM. Working perfectly afterwards though.

Hello all,

AVAST rendered my windows useless by causing it to immediately restart after booting (so I see the 4 color orbs of the windows loading up, then see the blue background where you choose which account to log into then it restarts).

So, after messing around with it for a while I managed to fix the booting process via safemode by messing around with msconfig. It looks like something went right because now the PC boots into the windows login perfectly fine, however, I lost all functionality with my keyboard and mouse. Hence, not allowing me to do anything but stare at the screen or a forced power restart/shutdown. The KB and mouse work perfectly fine during the BIOS phase prior to booting to windows. I bought a PS/2 keyboard today thinking that it might solve the issue (my original KB and mouse are USB) but it did not. I spent a night and morning googling methods but I can't seem to find anything related to my issue and my migraine finally kicked it from frustration.

What can I do to fix this without reinstalling windows? Is there a method to reset what drivers load up? Or maybe reset msconfig startup parameters to default? Another issue I'm having is that I do not have the "repair install" option when I boot with the Windows DVD. This had me stumped all last night but I finally realized that it's because you need to activate the DVD from within the Windows Environment then reboot. That, as I stated, is not possible.

Thank you for your help!

So you booted in safe mode and changed some things in msconfig. "normal boot" works as well as I read correctly. Did you use keyboard/mouse to logon? Do you see clock in bottom right of screen? Does it increase a minute each minute?

What did you "mess around" with msconfig?

My Microsoft USB Dual Receiver wireless keyboard (IntelliTypePro) Devise Manager - Devise Status says " Windows cannot load the device driver for his hardware. I still keep getting a spyware message that says again..I uninstalled the hardware and software/ download the InteliTypePro software again, installed it and I still get the same message... The trouble shooter will not load, nor will system tools, or help files. What should I do to get this working?

A:keyboard cannot load driver

You could try disconnecting from the internet, shutting down avast, then installing the software with device manager instead of just clicking on the executable.

If you really want this virus etc removed, and avast can't remove it, I'd suggest either posting a hijack this log for someone in security forum section or reinstalling the operating system

Just downloaded the latest G15 driver from Logitech. Installed. The keyboard lights up, the LCD shows CPU usage and Mem usage, my mouse runs from the USB port... but the only keys that will type are the q, a, z keys. I've tried uninstalling from DM and then reinstalling. I brought this thing out of mothballs because my HP keyboard quit on me. (This just isn't my week...!) Before installing this keyboard I had a problem with my HP keyboard... thought it was a virus (mute on/off displayed on screen) so I ran a plethora of rescue applications trying to fix it. I've uninstalled most of them. But this problem just doesn't make any sense to me...?! Can I get some help?

Custom build:
Gig GA-MA785GM-US2H (Award BIOS F7)
AMD Athlon II X2 245 (Regor)
4 Gig G. Skill 800MHz (2 x 2G in banks 2,3)
AMD Radeon 5570 (1GB) Redwood

A:Logitech G15 keyboard driver won't load or kb is bad...?!

Does the qwetrty section work without any drivers installed for the extra G15 features?

Basically does it work with the stand HID windows drivers? If so it's obviously something to do with the app software.
Have you completely cleared all the HP KB software?

I can't seem to get Windows 7 SP1 to load a driver for an HP printer that is on my home network. My laptop sees it but won't let me make it the default printer or load a driver so that I can link to it wirelessly. I restored my laptop back to windows 7
because Windows 10 was moving too slow. I only have 4gigs of memory, and windows 10 probably runs better with 8gigs of memory.

I'm working with a Dell Dimension C521 PC. It came with a PCI-Express video card which apparently has failed, yet the motherboard itself has on-board video. The system will boot using this video output (as opposed to the card which produced nothing) but when it finally gets to windows the auto-detect driver routine kicks in and begins to detect the video card, prompting the user to "Continue Anyway" to finish installing unsigned drivers. Unfortunately this event takes place in front of the installation of the USB keyboard and mouse (times like these I wish it had PS/2 ). Anyway, whether I boot up into Safe Mode or normal a prompt comes up about installing drivers for the on-board chipset. I can't interact with it because the driver install routine for the keyboard/mouse becomes interrupted.

A:Dell Dimension C521; USB key/mouse driver load interrupted by video card driver load

Bump. I've been thinking... the only way I think this can be fixed is if I boot from a Linux CD or something similar and delete a particular set of drivers for this video card. It can't prompt you to install any drivers if they don't exist, right? But I don't know where to go to delete such files and prevent them from automatically trying to install themselves. Any ideas?

Hello, please help me with the following issue.

One of the program that I used to operate a laboratory machine, AB 7300 (real time PCR) failed to load in normal mode but could be loaded in safe mode. The problem started to occur after I send the machine for repair. Apparently the problem was related to a loose computer cable but the technician also cleaned my registry file.

All the other programs could load normally. The OS is Windows XP SP 2 with the latest updates installed. The computer has an intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.40 GHz 3.39 GHz, 2GB RAM. I also have Bitdefender standard 9 antivirus, Zone Alarm Pro firewall ver 7.0.337 and AVG 7.5 anti-spyware. The machine is regularly scanned for virus anti spyware. the 7300 program was able to run previously even with these firewall/antivirus/antispyware running.

Using selective startup mode (by opening the msconfig.sys), the 7300 program could load even when all the SYSTEM.INI, WIN.INI, System services and startup Items are enabled. However, the program failed to load when the computer was started using the original BOOT.INI.

Thank you

I'm using XP and just did a recovery console for XP to recover a vital file. Now when I start my computer, it sits at the desktop loading for about five minutes. After five minutes, all the programs in the tray will load simultaneously. Then when I try to go to My Computer, control panel, help & support, etc., all the icons will disappear from the desktop and then reload after a few seconds, and thats it, nothing actually loads up. Also, with some programs, I will try to open it, hear the noise that an error message would make (but don't actually get a message) and then it just sits at the desktop as if I hadn't clicked anything. But some programs, such as Sony Vegas and Soundforge will load and run perfectly well. What should I do?

No matter what browser I use some webpages will not open. I usually get the following error code:

An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions 184.172.52.99:80

For some websites the IP address will be different but the port will still be the same.

I tried the following:

1. Flushed DNS cache
2. Disabled Firewall and AntiVirus
3. Opened port 80 in Windows Firewall both TCP and UDP
4. Through cmd I reset the TCP/IP
5. Changed DNS servers back to default (I was using OpenDNS servers) then flushed DNS cache again
6. Added the URL to the whitelist in my account in OpenDNS

None of these has resolved the issue. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to which websites I get this error message on. I would appreciate any help anyone could give me. Thank you in advance.

Here's an odd one. I'm developing a cloud-based system and SOME images are failing to load in Explorer 7. (Screen grab below.) Most images load fine, including ones from the same domain folder. In all cased I'm using fixed rather than relative URLs.

Bizarrely, if I load the image only, in a different tab, then it appears fine. However, even after that, a refresh on the original page fails to resolve the problem.

This defies logic. Well, my limited logic. However, it is a recurring problem. I have to fix it somehow!

I should stress that Firefox does NOT have the same issue... the images all load fine. The SIZE of the image does not appear to be a factor.

However (importantly) OTHER people with Explorer DO have the same problem.

I have turned smooth scrolling off and done everything else I can think of.

Has anyone else had this problem?

It's a real challenge.

I was trying to solve some graphics issues by the errors i was getting in the Services pane.

I started looking into a few more and when looking for a hidden file, i must of selected something that "hid" or deleted my user account, and at first glance, all my desktop icons

Now on boot up i visually have 1/2 the files i would have in my C drive (memory of them is still there), and just about every program fails to boot, says its currently running, or tells me its missing files.
It may just be programs on my C drive, programs located on my second drive boot and run fine.

Now i just did a system restore point to a few hours ago, wayy before i did any of this stuff. my files are back (mostly) my desktop is still bare, and my programs still wont load

any ideas?

Thanks

A:[SOLVED] Some programs fail to load

I have found my own solution, i tried googling for random symptoms and came up with someone telling me to,

"Go to your C drive icon, right click to properties, check "hidden" then apply, and wait for it to do that. Then immediatly after, uncheck the hidden box and hit apply."

Seems maybe last time when i un-hid folder and hid them not all were selected, leaving me with half the files missing and half working.

Hello, I'm not that computer literat but please bear with me. I recently added some new hardware to my 6 month old computer (2x2 gigs of ram and a 1T hard drive). I had my computer off and unplugged, added the ram and hard drive, then plugged my computer back in. I started my computer and while Vista was loading I all of a sudden got a BSOD saying:
Stop: C000021a {fatal system error}

The initial session processor system terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x00000000 (0Xc0000001 0X00100490)
The system has been shut down

After a few more tries of starting it normally, I tried it once with safe mode and it stopped loaded at "crcdisk.sys" and after a bit it would BSOD to the same screen

After starting it up again I selected the option to run the comouter with a previous setting that had a succesful boot, and it went to an error saying that the NLS data was missing or corrupt with an error saying "0Xc0000225"

After I went back to the screen where you have the option to start in safe mode or normal mode, and it said at the top that Windows had failed to load and that if it was due to a hardware change to put in the Vista CD and click on fix my computer, so I tried that. After it tried to fix itself it said that it couldnt automatically fix it. I tried doing a system restore to several differnt points which all didnt work because the system restore couldnt find the file "0X80070002"

If anyone has a solution to help me I would be very gr... Read more

A:New Hardware causes vista to fail to load?

Put the old ram back in, dicconect the new HD and see if it works.
If it does backup your data.
This way you can try to diagnose the problem and fix it knowing your data is safe.

Hi there,

I am having trouble starting my PC. It gives the error "Fail to load msgina.dll. Contact System Admin. to replace the file", something like this.

I cannot boot even in safe mode or by command prompt. My XP setup CD loads the files, but after completing loading its files, it restarts without continuing the setup. So I cannot repair my XP files.

How can I replace or restore 'msgina.dll' file from my XP CD to the System folder?

I'm having trouble with 2 programs not loading at start up. Both are set to load in 'start>run>msconfig but I have to load them manually through the start>programs list about 50% of the time.
I'm fairly certain this is a computer problem rather than a program problem?
Any feedback? Thanks Dave

I think I had a short in the electrical cable of the cord on my computer and the computer crashed. I looked at the cable and one of the prongs in one of the three holes is fried. When i start it up, it seems fine but then will not load windows. When it goes through the attempts to repair automatically, it says it cannot repair. Any Idea as to what may be the issue and what I can do to fix it?

A:Short causing windows load to fail

Clear the CMOS and see if that helps. Might be a long shot, but worth a try.

Spontaneous and persistent slowdowns/hang-ups - is there hope?
This problem arose pretty much out of nowhere. I've actually had surprisingly good luck with Vista, it's been a couple years now and things generally have gone pretty smoothly.

Just yesterday, everything suddenly began running really poorly. The hard-disk "thinking noise" goes on much longer than it did before, firefox and winamp and other programs will freeze for a few seconds, then sometimes unfreeze and other times just stop responding and I'll have to ctrl-alt-delete.

Beyond these issues, which really I can live with, none of my games will load anymore. They'll start, but like for example Fallout 3's opening screens go MUCH more slowly. It will go from "Bethesda" to the next title card or whatever in like thirty seconds, and it never reaches the title screen, although the music keeps playing. Dead Space gets to the title screen, and you can attempt to load or start a game, but it will just continue loading indefinitely.

Far Cry 2 actually does start and does work, but the load times are significantly longer than before. Am I dealing with a failing hard drive here? It's relatively new, only a year and a half or so old. Is there some virus or problem I haven't found? Is there any hope? Not being able to continue playing Fallout has really got me down. I've run virus scans with what free programs I could find, nothing was found. I scheduled a few disk scans, and the results told me... Read more

I've been having issues with my vBulletin 4 discussion forums for a while now and have tried almost everything to try and resolve the issue but nothing has helped.

I will be browsing the forums perfectly fine one minute, pages will load fine and under 3 seconds, the next I will click on a link and it will continuously load. I'm forced to cancel the page load and click the link again.

I've contacted HostGator about this issue, they've checked the server and they're reporting that everything is fine with the server I'm on. I've ran a vBulletin database check, repair and optimise. I've messed around with all of the settings, watered down my forum style, optimised the forum settings etc.

I'm not the only person having this issue; other users of my forum have reported it as well. Could it be that HostGator is in the US and I'm in the UK? Could it be the domain? Could it be HostGator?

What do you recommend I do? My forum isn't even popular!

I'm having some kind of virus or god knows what on my network.

It started with my PC that I got a constant errors that TeaTimer.exe has got an error and I could press "Retry, Cancel and OK". None of the choices made a difference since the message kept popping up. After a while (minutes) it didn't anymore. I decided to Reboot. Then on the stage where the OS loads up (after the booting sequence and before the password entrance in windows) It resets the computer. That goes on and on. Can't go to Safe Mode - same thing happens there too.
I was OK with that and knew I'll install a fresh installation of WinXP in a few days.

BUT then my Notebook had the same signs (TeaTimer.exe errors) and suddenly I found it shutdown. Trying to reboot giving me resets on the stage I need to enter my password to windows.
Safemode loads properly so it seems.

Both computers run Spybot and AVG Free.

Any leads ???
Thanks a lot...

Edit: I've used WinXP Restore to recover my notebook. It's back on track for now. Going to scan the fella from head to toe. Still can't load my PC.

When I enter the train trestle and try to go out on the platform, when I open the door there's an auto save.

I built a new computer for my Father in law who lives north of me about 200 miles. It had a K7N2 Delta MSI MO/BO, an Athlon XP 2900 Barton 400FSB, 512 MB 400 FSB, 80 G Maxtor ata 133, DVD Rom Drive with CDR-RW burn capabilties, and a CDrw burner. When taking it from the confines of my test bench to do the instalation at my FIL's I encountered a wild situation. I noticed my H/D was set up as IDE/0 secondary and the DVD player was primary. OOP'S. I set the H/D to cable select and the DVD player to master......Dumb butt. I reset the DVD player to Slave and let the puter re-arrange, but on boot, I had no mouse or keyboard. I booted a couple of times and could get maybe one or the other. I took it back to the H/D being secondary to see if the M & KB would work and they were still goners, I reconfigured the IDE/0 the way it should be and with a couple of boots, they came online. I had no real answer why. The computer has suffered through a modem driver uninstall then re-install to fix dial-up issues. All was well. My FIL left for the big city for 3 days and shut the puter off at the surge protector after a windows shutdown. Upon return, he booted, and had no mouse or keyboard. I had him reboot a few times to no avail. I then had him shut down, unplug the mouse and keyboard, boot up, shut down, plug the mouse and keyboard back in and reboot. All was well.........WHY? I've noticed that with windows XP I have computers that don't turn off the mouse and keyboard... Read more

A few days ago my mouse started getting spotty.
In the middle of whatever I was doing, suddenly it would stop working. It's a laser-mouse, so I could tell it still had power and it's onboard sensor was registering activity, but the cursor would not move.
Fine.
Reboot. See if it works.
50% of the time it would work. The other half of the time, I'd have to save what I could through key commands and reboot.
Today...keyboard failure.
BUT...only inside Windows. Up until the OS loads, the keyboard works fine. Whatever it is (driver, virus, trojan, etc...) even happens inside Safe Mode so I can't poke around there either.

I'm running XP Professional and I need use of this computer ASAP. I've got a radio show Saturday night and all my playlists, edited tracks and sound events are on this computer.
Please, if you're out there and know what this is about help me.
I really am desperate at this point.

A:Mouse and Keyboard fail only in XP Pro

When this happens, use CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up Task manager, look at CPU usage.

If its 100% solid, its a matter of some application hogging all available resource so the mouse doesn't get recognised.

Processes tab (Click CPU at top of column to toggle from greatest use to least use) see what is using the resource.
