Browsers take forever loading same website/websites but only on one pc

Q: Browsers take forever loading same website/websites but only on one pc

IE, Opera, FF Chrome, all have problems loading the same websites while other sites load right away.

Just for an example... racerxonline.com will not load on any browser, but only on one of my windows 7 pc. My second win7 and linux pc work fine using the same router and all three computers are hard wired to the router as I don't have or use WIFI.

Here are the steps I have taken to resolve the issue with no success over the last couple of days:

1 Deleted and reinstalled all browsers with no add ons.
2 ipconfig /release..... ipconfig /renew
3 I use ccleaner all the time
4 swapped ethernet cables with the two other computers
5 swapped ethernet ports on router that other two computers work fine with
6 checked all start up programs in start up folder and all basic nothing new or odd
7 ran full scan of malwarebytes, awdcleaner, avast, windows defender on and updated
8 said on occasion %&$#@ but that didn't work either

Preferred Solution: Browsers take forever loading same website/websites but only on one pc

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have 2 HP laptops one of which i bought recently named Pavilion DV6 and the other is a Compaq machine. Everything was fine until a couple of days back, issues starting cropping up - I have IE9, Firefox9 and Chrome in DV6 but all of these are not loading random websites (i noticed www.rediff.com is one of them) however i am able to access all websites (even www.rediff.com) at my Compaq machine without any issues. This is the scenario at my home internet network (high speed broadband)however at my office internet network (high speed broadband), the DV6 displays all websites perfectly...I am really annoyed and have tried all things but am not able to figure out where is the problem !!!

Giving a few details that might be helpful:
Config of DV6:
-Win7 Home Premium 64bit
-8Gb RAM
-IE9, Firefox9 and Chrome installed
Config of Compaq:
-Windows Vista 32 bit
-2Gb RAM
-IE8 installed.

A quick help would be greatly appreciated !

A:Browsers not loading random websites

Hi...so many views but no help???...anyways, found the solution myself and want to share it so that others having the same issue might benefit...the problem was in the dns which was autoconfigured in the modem supplied by my ISP...I changed the set of DNS (Primary and Alternate) in the modem and now everything's fine as usual :-)
The only thing that still puzzles me is that how come my Compaq was able to surf all sites....I guess this is why we say....Old is Gold....lol

Good day

I am so running out of ideas. Its driving me bonkers.

I am unable to load one specific website(atleast so far). It wont load on any browser or any computer on my network. Even if i bypass my router and directly connect to my modem, it will not load. But I know the website is online because other people I know can access it fine.

angel.gtarcade.com (its a browser game)

bypassed router (hard wired modem to computer)
rebooted computer
rebooted modem and router
dns flush (ipconfig /flushdns)
netsh winsock reset
reset browsers to default

HOWEVER! If I load this with torbrowser the initial website itself loads just fine. It of course wont load the game because of the security settings in torbrowser (which I could bypass if I chose but what would be the point from there?)

When I'm using IE or Firfox a new window to another website or an ad would automatically appear. The rogue windows would have to finish loading first, for that website before it would allow my website or link I want to visit load. This is not a pop-up, and the new window would randomly appear whenever I visit a website that I've been before or appear when I'm doing a search or clicking on a link. I've ran my McAffee Anti-Virus and did not detect any viruses. But when I ran my Spyware Doctor it shows that I'm infected by Trojan.Vitrumonde, Trojan.Agent. After fixing and cleaning this in my spyware program, the problems still reoccur. Below is my hijack log, any additional info or data you can provide in order to resolve this issue will greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I have been using my Verizon Yahoo Browser for my internet use since my Internet Explorer browser has been giving me problems, namely it keeps freezing up after visiting anywhere between 3-5 web pages and I can't open multiple windows. It stops responding and I have to close out of it. I have scanned repeatedly for problems and haven't found any with it. I finally gave up and started using the Verizon Yahoo Browser and all was fine until yesterday. I couldn't open either internet browsers for about half a day, thought it was a problem with my internet connection, gave up and went to bed.

Today I can open both again but it takes a good couple minutes after clicking on them before they actually load. Once it loads, it runs ok although it has stopped responding a couple times and I have noticed I can not add any bookmarks in my Verizon Yahoo browser anymore. I have run numerous scans, including the Malwarebytes one, SuperAnti-Spyware, and my normal McAfee but it hasn't found anything. I did notice that about the time that this started, McAfee was trying to update itself and seemed to be frozen. I had to reboot computer. Could that have something to do with it? I'm thinking about reinstalling McAfee to see if it's doing something. Other than that, I would really appreciate any suggestions because this is getting frustrating.

Oh, and I am running Windows XP Media Center Edition.

A:Internet Browsers Take Forever To Open/can't Add Bookmarks

It is possible that McAfee could be the reason why you are experiencing this issue. You could uninstall, then reinstall McAfee to see if that solves the problem. If you decide to take this approach, after uninstalling from Add Remove, use the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool before reinstalling. The tool will (supposedly) remove any traces left behind. If a reinstall doesn't solve the problem, it could be a case of McAfee just not playing nice with your system. Of course, there are other reasons why your browsers are slow to open but since you mentioned McAfee I am addressing that question.

On all browsers my pages will not load most of the time or may start but freeze shortly after. It is also taking forever for the browser itself to load. Chrome seems to be the worst. In my previous post after running a program and reboot I got a floating box "Input Not Supported" box that bounces around the screen like a screensaver and stays on top of everything else. I also noticed I keep hearing clicking noises from the speakers also. Thank you so much for your help.

For some reason my computer don't want to show online applets. I've tried both IE9 and Firefox 14.0.1 but this seems to be a JRE issue as both browsers show the same bahavior. I've tested both class-files and jar-files.

I've googled for any explanation or workaround but I haven't found any. I have no ActiveX filtering on and I can easily download any applet file by writing its URL in the browsers address field. I've even confirmed that the file isn't corrupt when it arrives.
It looks like the java plugin tries to download the file but never get a reply. So it times out and tries to load it again. During this time the typical loading-java-applet-logo shows. But after a few minutes the process stops and the applet area is left blank (white) or with a simple error symbol.
The Java console shows mainly the connecting attempts and ClassNotFoundException for the class requested in the HTML tag.
I've tested <applet>, <object> and <embed> tags. I've tried both sticky and non sticky declarations. With or without Java cache. All with the same result.
However, in few cases I have had an applet loaded and run, after loooong wait. This is why I think it is a network problem.

I've also noticed that others have asked about the same problem. But there has been no solution or explanation.

A:Problems loading applets in browsers. Loading is very slow.

Here is an example of what I'm writing about. I open oracle simple applet example to get the following from the Java console with tracing set to level 5:

Hi. I have an old Compaq laptop (says Presario A900 on it) running on Vista. A while ago, it froze, so I had to press the power button until it turned off. Now, when I turn it on it starts up normally with the black screen and the 30 secondseconds to start Windows regularly. I can log in fine, but if I click on Chrome and search something, it freezes. Sometimes I don't even get that far. I click on the Start button and the blue loading circle comes up. It doesn't do anything after that. The circle keeps going like something's loading. Occasionally it will freeze and I have to manually restart it. What's going on? Thanks.

Welcome 2bigsteveSounds like a connectivity problem which may or may not be related to malware. Have you performed any anti-spyware scans? Have you tried doing your scans in "SAFE MODE"?If you don't have any anti-malware programs see BC's List of Virus & Malware Resources and at least scan with Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D. I would also recommend that you download and scan with SUPERAntiSpyware Free for Home Users. You could also try System Restore from a command prompt in "SAFE MODE" to return to a previous state before your problems began?

Hey guys ? so I have a huge issue, not too sure what virus I?ve run into. I?ll start from the beginning.

Yesterday as I was closing down my computer I noticed a Java icon on my taskbar, and I wasn?t running any java apps that I know of. I closed it down, and firefox froze on me. I finally decided to CTL+ALT+DEL firefox but I think the damage was done. I immediately ran a malwarebytes scan and it found 5 things, all Trojan/virus related (from what I remember they were avsoft/avsuite related because I remember thinking that they looked like Avast). I deleted them and rebooted. Upon reboot, my computer took forever from the login in screen to get to the desktop/icons. I read some info on running ?explorer.exe? but it was already running. I shut it down and tried to run ?explorer.exe? in the RUN option in the task manager. When it came up, the desktop and icons appeared, however they looked like an old OS. I have Windows XP, but it looked like windows 98 or something (gray task bar and task manager, hopefully that makes sense).

I have malwarebytes, avast, mcafee, so I ran scans with those and they didn?t find anything. I could not connect to the internet, so I started up in safe mode and tried a scan then. Came up with nothing. Finally, I did a system restore to yesterday before I got infected and when I restarted it took forever to load again BUT it was back to the XP look (blue task bar/manager) thankfully. I was able to connect to firefox BUT when I go to antivirus sites... Read more

So I was playing a MMO game called Wizard101, when randomly, I disconnected from it.
I tried first to re-connect to the game, no success.

So I tried going to its website, loads very slowly, sometimes not loading at all.
Then I wanted to try go to its fansite, to ask for support there, but it turns out that the fansite isn't loading too.
I try to load a few more pages that is related to the game, but none of them will load.
However everything else seems to load just like normal.

I try to fix this with using my usuall fixes:
I tried connecting to the websites on another computer. Didn't work.
Restarted my internet + reset my router back to standard. Neither did this work.

I haven't changed any of my internet settings in a few months; so I doubt anything there would be the problem.

thanks for all help!~~

A:Websites about a game are loading slow, or not loading at all

If other websites are fine, then the most likely issue is that the website and server may be down. Nothing you can do about that.

Please note, I am typing on a DIFFERENT computer (IP address) than my other PC that has the problem - specifically a Windows 10 "Forever Loading" Problem, I believe. It is a 3 year old DELL, with Windows 10, so I cannot run the above suggested SysInfo Utility.

That said, I had an automatic regular Windows 10 update, which took forever and ever. While it seemed to be finishing; my DELL logo appeared, then I get my welcome screen and it allows me to very S-L-O-W-L-Y type my password; then my center screen wallpaper appears, but never any of my desktop icons. After much passed time, my task bar appears but no icons on it. The time appears in right hand corner of task bar, but the real time never advances. Lastly the dreaded spinning blue circle remains in the blank Task Bar. I have tried unplugging overnight, restarting, and the same thing. The Windows start button appears on task bar, but nothing works, because nothing has loaded on task bar or on my desktop. I have left it on overnight in hopes of a wishful escape of this endless loop it is stuck in.

Checking online, I have tried various suggested processes (getting to Task Manager, trying to restart explorer.exe, running new task (msconfig), tried to get to Safe boot to reboot, but cannot do any of those things due to the dreaded spinning blue circle. I simply can't get anywhere except to Task Manager, but nothing actually works within there either. Help Please?

I have windows 98 with ie6 and firefox 2 installed. My problem is that oftentimes it takes 2-3 minutes to switch from one open window to another or to open a new web page. My computer whirs and clicks forever and while it is doing this I can't do anything else ecept press alt-ctl-del to end the process and even that takes a long time to accomplish.
At first I thought it was a problem with ie6 so I installed firefox. Firefox worked fine the first few days but then it began behaving like ie6 taking forever to navigate between open windows. I tried disconnecting from the internet by turning off my dsl modem but the 'puter just kept whirring and clicking.
I ran a reg scan with cc and it reported no issues.
Any ideas?

Ok.well my ASUS laptop with Vista home premium is having some trouble.. first notice windows freezes ... next vista welcome window stays on loading.......... till I turn it off and restart in safe mode with network... Then the unthinkable ... all my pictures, all my documents, all the restore points, ALL anything that I added to this hard drive for the last 4yrs.... IS GONE!!! and now nothing is saved after I reboot.( ok Im in safe mode) I have reloaded the service pack 2... found out some drivers can not update. I looked at the event manager ... OMG that list is too long. I remember sometime last year their was an Microsoft update that wiped everything off like it was a new laptop...But I had a restore points to go back to fix that one. 2 days ago my laptop appeared to be ok. Turned it off that night and in the morning all was gone. But I am hoping the light is still on at the end of the tunnel for this hard drive.

This is not the first time that it has happened. Anyone know what it could be? I'm thinking there is something running in the background that is preventing it from opening it up.

Could I possibly be infected? I am having problems with accessing any and all webpages. At first, I thought it was just a Mozilla issue, but the same problems occur in Google Chrome and IE. I will type in a URL and press enter and sometimes it will take forever to load, and if I click on the link again, it will bring it up instantly. It seems as if it is stalling. And other times, if I click on the link for a second time, it will say "done" on the bottom left hand side, but it will certainly not be done! I have been having this problem for weeks now and it is driving me crazy!
I have run Spybot, Adaware, Spyware Doctor, Malwarebytes, my AVG antivirus scan, and the free Symantec one on the website. Nothing has been found wrong!
I tried restoring my computer to 4 different restore points but they were all unsuccessful.
I tried uninstalling Zone Alarm, thinking that was causing the problem, but nothing changed. I had k9 web protection on my computer, but uninstalled it weeks ago and I am still having problems. I have the same problem running my wireless or using an ethernet cable; on my network and at a friend's house.
Please help!

So i got this Dell Laptop to fix...weird thing is

it will be stuck on the load-up screen for 15-20 minutes or more, then logging in will take another 10-15 minutes...

I tried looking into the system configuration through msconfig

disabled most of the startup programs down to the two most important ones
also played around with the "system services", but no luck...both will still startup the laptop really slow...

it has a 1gb ram and all updates/drivers are installed...

i also tried swapping the hdd with another laptop, still the same thing. I do not suspect it to be a bad hdd

but even after swapping the hdd, it will still take a very long time to load up and login....

occasionally the explorer.exe will shoot up to 50% CPU usage without me doing anything...

i believe these two are related in some way...

any ideas...thanks in advance

About a week and a half or so ago loading media files takes forever. Whenever I click on a MP3 or AVI file it takes about 30 secs before it loads. In the meantime I get a Windows Explorer has stopped responding dialog and I can either shut it down or wait for it to load.

I've run Spybot, Adaware, and installed ZoneAlarm. I keep getting a message that my computer is trying to access another comp on my network.

I've also tried restoring to an older restore point with no luck. I have no idea what may be causing this. Any help would be massively appreciated.

So i'm having an issue where my cover photo and profile picture won't change on my laptop (aka lockscreen). The pictures currently on my lockscreen were my old cover photo and profile picture on facebook, and have since changed on facebook. I uninstalled and then re-installed facebook. I made sure profile sync was turned off and everything. Now, I changed my profile picture for microsoft, and that worked, except on the lockscreen page it is the same old facebook picture.
With the lockscreen wallpaper, it will not let me change it at all. In the personalization settings, it will let me browse for a picture, but will not load the preview.
I have tried everything. I've spent two days on the forums trying to figure this out. I have done the sfc /scannow several times. I have checked for virus. I checked to see if the new update messed with it, and I couldn't find the exact update everyone else was referring to; it didn't exist on my computer. The only thing that worked at all was when I did the registry editor, and disabled the lockscreen altogether. (computer>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>POLICIES>MICROSOFT>WINDOWS) I didn't have a personalization file, so I made one and added the NoLockScreen option and set the hexadecimal value to 1 to turn the lockscreen off.

Now the issue, I would like to have a lockscreen. I do not care is it is my facebook profile and cover picture at all, I am just getting very aggravated by the constant picture that I have to see every ti... Read more

As the title says bringing up a YouTube page doesn't load all thumbnails including my own in the top left and users/videos ones. Page looks like this:

This happens in Chrome and Firefox. It started about a week ago apparently when some script froze and I forced it to stop running. It's really annoying since it usually stops comments loading and videos too sometimes. I did try wiping everything and reinstalling FF if you're wondering.

Sorry if this is the wrong subforum to post in, not sure where else to post.

My problem is windows 7 takes a long time to go past the welcome loading screen when it's loading the OS. (FYI- Win7 came preloaded when I purchased my laptop)It takes about 5-10 mins to finally load onto desktop.Never took so long before up until last night.Once at the desktop...I can't open my programs like normal each time it freezes/lags/slow as molasses if you will .Then I'm able to open up a program and it continues...Sometimes the screen blacks out and never returns so I reboot.Whatever trojan/virus is present manages to disable McAfee protection each time I start up.I would have to go in and enable it each time I'm logged on.Steps I've taken:***I've tried booting up via safe mode (same thing happens).***I've ran the startup repair (could not detect a problem).***I've Cleared out my temp files.***I've Defrag my laptop.***I've ran spybot search & destroy(found the following Doubleclick,Win32.Agent.ws,Zedo)***I've done a system restore to a point where my laptop worked like charm.***I've ran full MBAM (safe mode) scan results...(no malicious viruses detected).***I've ran full McAfee (safe mode) scan results( no viruses found).I wanted to see what could be done first, before I attempt a system recovery which is at the bottom of my totem pole, don't want to lose my data. Please Advise & Your Assistance would be greatly appreciated!

In internet explorer 6 and Opera, the very same pages load HELLA fast.

I have an odd problem. I restarted my desktop computer this morning, and something has gotten completely messed up since. Going to any website just loads a white blank page, or a page with no graphics and all test, and the structure of the website is completely messed up, like it didn't load completely. I know it's not my network because my laptop loads everything just fine, and I know it's not browser specific as I'm having the same problem with 3 different browsers. Hi Everyone,

I could use some assistance...

I have four computers connected to a router which in turn is connected to a cable modem.
Three of the computers can connect to the internet just fine.

The fourth computer is a Dell Latitude laptop with Windows XP SP3. It was massively infected with viruses and malware.
I managed to get rid of the malware and viruses by running a Linux boot CD with rescue and virus scan utilities.
A Linux Boot disk with Firefox proves that the hardware is fine and the computer can browse the internet in the Linux configuration.
However, in Windows the network adapter says it is connected but my Browsers (both IE and Chrome) will not connect to a page by URL.

I have checked the network adapter settings - especially the TCP/IP settings and all options match the other computers.
The network adapter shows "Connected" and I have a valid IP address of
Statistics on the router show that this IP address is indeed connected to the router.
I can view my router's built in web page by IP address from the laptop
I can ping the router by it's IP address
I can ping the DNS Server by IP address
I can ping the DHCP Server by IP address
I can ping the Default Gateway by IP address
I cannot ping anything by host name, computer name, or url
I cannot ping another computer on the network, i.e.
however, my IP address,,is successfully pinged by the other computers.

A:Font has changes on all websites and all browsers???

Install and use the Font Finder add-on in Firefox. You will then be able to identify which font is being rendered in Firefox. Then you can investigate if it is the correct font by perhaps finding an image online depicting the font and comparing closely. Then consider if the font in the Windows font folder might have been replaced or need replaced. ....
