With chrome, Youtube's full screen is not full

Q: With chrome, Youtube's full screen is not full

It appears to only happen with Chrome and only in youtube. Full screen is only 1/4 of the screen in the upper left corner of the screen. It had happen before, I went to plugins and disabled the latest version of flash player. Three days ago I uninstalled and re-installed Chrome, the full screen issue is back, the flash player is 11.9.900.117. There's two of them, same number, one with periods and one with commas. I disabled the one with commas but the problem is still there.
Does anybody know anything?

Preferred Solution: With chrome, Youtube's full screen is not full

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Every video I watch in Opera (ver. 9.62, Mac) lags in full screen mode. I've
- got a stable connection
- 2GB of RAM
- updated to Flash 10

What else can I do? Again, this only occurs in full screen mode in the Opera browser. Everything's fine in Safari.

First of all, i'm sorry if I posted this on the wrong forum. I wasn't sure which forum this thread fit in, and all of it happened while I was updating my VGA drivers...

Anyway, this really weird glitch happened to me after I tried to update my Intel HD Graphics driver. I updated the graphics driver in hope that I could run Sonic Generations a little smoother, but then I stumbled on this weird youtube glitch. It's an Acer Aspire 5742G, and I bought it for my brother this christmas. I was hoping you could help me out with this...

When I watch a youtube video in full screen, it looks all really weird. It's very hard to describe it, so I printed the screen to show exactly what's going on:

As you can see the bottom bar, showing all the numbers and stuff, looks weird. And the video quality is also pretty messed up. It's like it changed for a lower resolution for an instance, or something. This is like nothing i've ever seen before! I unninstalled and updated VGA drivers lots of times before, but this never happened to me. I was wondering if anyone could help me out here...

Thank you for your time.

Try getting the free version of Revo uninstaller: Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems
Use it to completely uninstall every bit of your graphics drivers (any audio, video, etc. that came with the update).

If you don't want to use the uninstaller, use control panel's built in uninstaller. However, this may not help solve the problem, as remenants of the previous driver may still remain.

Now, go into windows updates and install all important updates, and any "compatability" updates in the optional section. Next, redownload the graphics update and install it. This is the website for it, make sure you select the correct opperating system: http://support.acer.com/product/defa...x?modelId=3278

Find the control panel for the graphics card and set the resolution and other settings according to how you would like it. There is also a cleartype text function in windows 7, you might try it out: Windows ClearType Tuner. You can also enable cleartype in IE under internet options>Advanced and looking down the list for the option.

When I watch a YouTube video and go to full screen it is white with no video. I am running XP sp3. It works with IE and on my laptop but not this (desk top) machine.

Also when I check for updates for my add-on's it says I need an updated shockwave player. I have tried to download and install and it will not take. I have done it a dozen times with the same result.

Any ideas on how I can correct this?

A:Full screen white with YouTube?

You can do this by following procedure:

copy and paste from the youtube browser link this part (red) after /watch?v= ... and before &feature=related
... eg: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c71A0WG_Byk&feature=related)
... copying the red to become: (http://www.youtube.com/v/c71A0WG_Byk)
... into the end of: ( http://www.youtube.com/v/ )
... then [press] <F11> key for full screen "before" movie starts!
... any difference?

chrome delete and again installl
computer scan for virus and malware

I showed the error in the picture and
When I watch a video on YouTube, it is not full screen

A:youtube full screen error?

Am I correct, these are both screen shots from YouTube but from the two different computers ?
Not all videos are taken with the same aspect ratio and if the aspect ratio of the video is different from that of your screen it will not fill the screen. Look at an old video shot in 4:3 running on a modern computer or TV screen with an aspect ratio of 16:9 or similar. You will get a black edge where it does not fit your screen. It would have been helpful if your two screen shots had been of the same video clip !
Since you say you have "graphic card uninstall, reinstall" - I take it you mean the drivers - the only thng I can think for you to do is check the display resolution. RIGHT click on an blank piece of screen and select 'Screen resolution' from the pop-up menu. Then make sure that your resolution is set to its maximum level, normally the 'recommended' one.

On my desktop computer, when I try viewing youtube videos (and videos from some other sources) full screen, the toolbar across the bottom of screen in the desktop mode remains visible, blocking my view of (and use of) the player controls at bottom of the youtube player. All I can see is the seek bar moving as the video plays. If I put the toolbar in the AutoHide mode, then I can see (and use) the youtube player controls.

On my laptop with W8, this problem does not exist. The entire player appears normally as if there were an "always on top" mode.

One difference is that the laptop had W8 factory installed, while I installed W8 over XP in my desktop. (That $39 deal offered at the beginning of the year was too good to pass up). Both computers have x64-based processors.

Computer comparisons:
Laptop: Samsung; AMD A6-4400M APU with Radeon HD Graphics, 2.70 GHz; 4.00 GB RAM, 64-bit OS
Desktop: Homebuilt; AMD Athlon Dual Core Processor 5050e; ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics (with latest driver); 2GB RAM; 32-bit OS

Neither computer has the toolbar in the AutoHide mode.

On some sites with the desktop computer, when I move the mouse pointer toward the left edge of the player, the seek bar retracts and I can't grab it to drag it to the right. I don't know the if laptop also has this problem.

Thanks for your suggestions.

A:Viewing youtube videos full screen

Mine does the same thing but if I check the auto-hide taskbar option, I get the video full screen without the taskbar. Updated to ad the fact that I am using a home-built desktop and I did read your (very well written) opening post. This is just an FYI and is not intended to be a fix for your specific issue.

I have just started noticing this issue with youtube.I use to be able to just click the full screen button on the bottom right of the youtube player and it would maximize. Now when i try to maximize it,it does not maximize all the way and it freezes up.I can hear the sound and see the video, but the video freezes.I disabled the "enable hardware acceleration" in the player settings and it did no justice.I then "enabled" hardware acceleration in the google chrome settings and it worked. However, enabling hardware acceleration seems to make chrome lag a little.my graphics card is completely up to date and so is my adobe flash plugin.Google chrome is also up to date.Although chrome itself has it's own built in flash.I never had to enable hardware acceleration before in google to play videos up untill now.i have not changed anything on my computer or in my web browser.
I also have the cyberfox browser.Youtube seems to work fine and it maximizes in that browser just fine without hardware acceleration enabled.Im stumped..lol So im assuming this has to do with google chrome itself?

After trying some things (that didn't work) that seemed like they would work I decided to ask for help. I have two monitors, a large 1080p one which is plugged into my graphics card and a smaller 4:3 VGA monitor for secondary tasks that's plugged into my motherboard. Although I have not tested this issue with other video streaming services, it seems that YouTube (although it could be other services as well) will crash whenever I put a video in full screen mode on my larger (primary) monitor.

That being said, my computer will NOT crash when I use full screen mode on my smaller, secondary monitor.

My computer also does not crash while playing/using any games or programs in full screen, with the exception of WildStar (more on that later).

I have gone through device manager and searched for every update I could find for my devices, and I have also ran through GeForce Experience to update my video drivers as well, so none of my hardware is out of date.

I have tried disabling certain devices to see if there was an issue with those (I had gotten some new peripherals at the time) and it has not fixed the problem either.

I have ran a memtest through windows, and although most people say that memtest86 (or whatever it's called) is more reliable, I figured that since the windows memtest came clean, and an issue with RAM causing a blue screen just from YouTube, I decided that it would be extremely unlikely that RAM would be the issue since I can run pretty much every program I have... A:I don't get steam notifications when on youtube on full screen mode

You dont get steam notifications because YouTube full screen mode is not part of steam. You get steam notifications in full screen games because the game is coded to show them. In other words, no you cannot get steam notifications over full screen YouTube videos.

Take memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.
RAM - Test with Memtest86+

The goal is to test all the RAM sticks and all the motherboard slots.

Check your motherboard manual to ensure the RAM sticks are in the recommended motherboard slots. Some motherboards have very specific slots required for the number of RAM sticks installed.

If you get errors, stop the test and continue with the next step.

1. Remove all but one stick of RAM from your computer (this will be RAM stick #1), and run Memtest86 again, for 7 passes. *Be sure to note the RAM stick, use a piece of tape with a number, and note the motherboard slot.
If this stick passes the test then go to step #3.

2. If RAM stick #1 has errors, repeat the test with RAM stick #2 in the same motherboard slot. *If RAM stick #2 passes, this indicates that RAM stick #1 may be bad. If you want to be absolutely sure, re-test RAM stick #1 in another known good slot.
*If RAM stick #2 has errors, this indicates another possible bad RAM stick, a possible motherboard slot failure or inadequate settings.
3. Test the next stick of RAM (stick #2) in the next motherboard slot. *If this RAM stick has errors repeat step #2 using a known good stick if possible, or another stick.
*If this RAM stick has no errors and both sticks failed in slot#1, test RAM stick #1 in this slot.

Hey, my computer has been blue screening for quite sometime now, if I were to estimate I would say around 8 months and I get 1-2 blue screen every month I would have to say. I have formatted my computer and re-installed windows around 1-2 months ago to check if it would fix the problem but to no avail. I would generally get these blue screens when I would be playing a full screen game but also it sometimes happens when I would play video games in windowed mode as well. Also, sometimes it would occur when I would full screen or escape a full screen YouTube video.

I have tried updating my video driver as well as explained before formatting my hard drive and re-installing Windows 7 Ultimate x64 but it has still not resolved the issue. I'll attach the dump files and would thank you in advance for any help given.

I need help. I talked to NetFlix, they are stumped. I changed video cards and got the latest drivers. I even formatted my hard drive and reinstalled my applications. This last got rid of the problem, but it came back. At this point, when I try to watch a Netflix video on my computer,m either in a window or in full screen mode, I hear the audio track, but only see a black screen. A YouTube video is fine in a window, but full screen mode is pure black though with audio. Other videos players will sometimes go to black in full screen.

I am running Windows XP, SP3 on a 2.2 gHz computer with 2 MB ram. The new video card is an NVidia GeForce 6200 AGP with 512 MB ram. I am using a DVI connection to an ASUS LED monitor.

I wonder if anyone else has had a similar problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone may offer on this subject.

Hi all,
Been having a few computer troubles, last couple of days. Up until now, I have never had a computer crash since building my machine. Occasionally I've had to force-quit a program, but never random crashes.

I've had 6 in the last day or so, though. And none of them have happened with a BSoD. The last one to happen was while watching a movie. I Ctrl+Alt+Del'd and it got stuck showing a message "preparing security options..." with the time-circle(?), but never progressed past that point.

They all seem to happen at random, regardless of what I do. When playing full-screen games, watching full-screen movies, or even just sitting idling. I've tried updating my MOBO BiOS, my gfx driver, tried taking out and setting the RAM again, and even ran a full-system scan with both anti-virus and with CCleaner.

I'm afraid I'm not sure what I should do.

I tried to upload the files from the SF_Diagnostic_Tool, but got a message saying I didn't have the correct Security Token?

If there's any other information that you require of me, please don't hesitate to ask.

I belong to a forum where we sometimes post a music video, and I never had problems until a couple of days ago seeing a video that was downloaded to the forum in full-screen mode.

It happens in IE11 and Edge browsers, and just started. A couple of other people are having the same problems. The error message actually blocks the title of the video, so you can't read who it is.

Any idea how to go in these browsers and change the permissions to view full screen for YouTube videos even if they're on another site? On YouTube, the full screen works fine.

I haven't changed any settings at all in the last couple of days. Any advice appreciated.

I don't know why, but ever since this afternoon, Windows decides to crash complete whenever I'm a few minutes or so in watching a YouTube video. It doesn't do it playing intensive games like Grand Theft Auto 5 yet it decides to do it watching a YouTube video. How Windows crashes is the reason why I'm making this thread.

What happens when I'm in the middle of watching a video is that the screen goes black with the cursor flickering and later disappears as well as the audio cutting off with nothing but blackness. Pressing anything does not make sounds, and nothing appears after a moment of blackness, not even a blue screen. And after restarting, the interface does some strange behavior I've never seen before. The resolution is changed to 800x600 (or 1024x768, I don't know, 4:3 aspect ratio) and the options are even more awkward. The only options through adapter settings (resolution cannot be changed in advanced display settings for some reason) are all in 4:3 aspect ratio with of all the standard refresh rates in PCs is a never heard of 64 Hz applied to each option

Fortunately, things go back to normal after another restart, but the crashing while watching YouTube videos in full screen continue to happen. Now this issue doesn't annoy me to the very core, but it does bother me that such an interruption can happen. I prefer to watch videos in full screen, so I want to know how I can fix it. I don't want to be hesitant to watch something in a preferred mode forever. Let me know ... Read more

Google is not letting me full screen any YouTube video. It's only Google Chrome causing this problem because IE is letting me full screen YouTube videos. I have tried disabling adblock & disabling Adobe Flash Player and still it shows up like this:

A:Google Chrome Full Screen Problem

Log on to your computer using another profile.
(perhaps enable the guest account)
Then test Chrome.
If it works, then you know your Chrome profile is bad or some plug-in barfed.

Or you can make a new Chrome profile for the W7 account that you are currently using.

I just got a new widescreen monitor for my computer. The problem is I can't get Media Center to switch from full screen to widescreen. I go to settings configure TV or monitor. After clicking on that it asks me to watch a video when I click the watch video button it crashes and comes up with this error message.

Friends don't let friends take vertical videos. Our brains and eyes are wired for widescreen. And yet, in this age of ubiquitous smartphone screens, it happens all the time. There's good news today if you're one of those people. Android...

A:Android accepts defeat, will now show vertical YouTube videos full screen

Honestly whoever originally made the decision to only allow video to be viewed in widescreen format in full screen mode was a bone head move, thanks captain Dic.

"So vertical video makers rejoice. In fact, we should all celebrate. Although the orientation will still be annoying for people watching on laptops, monitors, and TVs, at least Android smartphone users won't have to suffer innecesarily. There's no word yet on when or if the update is coming to iOS."

The added screen real estate more than makes up for the lack of proper orientation, maybe flip your laptop on its side and change it's screen setting to portrait if it really bothers you. But when trying to watch on an already small screen it just doesn't make sense for it to force you to watch with black bars.

So, whenever I goes full screen when watching youtube on Chrome with my secondary screen ( the screen that wasn't set as main display) , it crashes with BSOD, either "Page Fault in Non Paged Area" or "System Service Exception", ddkmd.sys. Every single time. I tired to switch the screens and it still BSOD with the secondary screen. Recently, it also goes BSOD whenever I lauched the 3Dmark TimeSpy.

However, I can play video games (Bioshock, Evolve) with full screen on my secondary screen with no problem.

Hello there!

As threat title suggests, I am struggling with (any, not only HD) lagging video playback on full screen mode in Chrome only. I've looked up for the solution on google and triet (I think) all possible fixes, but neither of them worked so far.

What I did:
- updated my graph card drivers to the latest
- downloaded & installed the latest adobe flash player
- disabled 'pepflashplayer' plugin in Chrome
- disabled hardware acceleration in Chrome
- cleared my temp files/cookies/history etc.
- cleaned my comp from trash in general & errors in registry
- restarted comp several times in the process

I have even formatted my computer, but no change in that matter...

Nothing helped. I noticed its Chrome issue only. I've runned out of fixes to apply. Any suggestions?

Ah one more thing -> I noticed that 'pepflashplayer' is the only plugin in Chrome relating to Flash... I think that videos are playing on HTML5.

I attach my DxDiag if that helps...

Any help appreciated!

Hi,Running Windows 7 RTM x64 on both my PC at home and my workstation at work.My PC at home has a square monitor and my work PC has a widescreen monitor.I used webapps (citrix) from home to get into work environment then remoted to my workstation.Since doing that, when I am physically at the workstation (at work), I can no longer remote desktop to servers in full screen mode.  Instead, it does a smaller window with "full screen settings".  Basically the full screen remote desktop is about 3/4 size of the monitor, not 100%.Any help appreciated.-thanks

A:Remote desktop full screen mode not going full screen

Hi,-Start "Remote Desktop Connection".-Click on "Options".-Click on the "Display" tab.-On "Display configuation" settings, you can change the "Remote Desktop Connection" display by moving the slider from "Small to Large".-By moving the "Slider" all the way to large, the display settings will automatically set to "Full Screen".Thanks

Hello all,

I've been having a very annoying problem for quite a while now. When I play games or use any sort of full screen program, it refuse to stay in full screen and flickers to the desktop after a 10-30 minute period...I'm aware this is probably another program trying to take control, but I can't seem to pin it down. I've tried disabling startup programs through task manager and I've also tried ending background process, with no success.

Can someone please advise how to troubleshoot this issue, or let me know an easier way to find out what is going on...

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

For some reason, starting this morning, any time I open a game in full screen mode, I get a full freeze. No mouse movement, Ctrl+Alt+Del / Ctrl+Shift+Esc / Alt+F4 / Alt+Tab do nothing, and the ultimate test, toggling capslock doesn't change the light on the keyboard. Only a hard reboot remedies the problem.

I'm convinced it's not a video card issue simply because if I start the same games in windowed mode, they run perfectly fine. I updated to Catalyst 10.10d yesterday, but the problem didn't occur until today, so I'm not entirely sure if they are related. Google's turned up nothing, at any rate, and I don't want to go through the effort of a full driver wipe until I'm sure it's the problem.

Something that troubles me a little: Fallout New Vegas randomly started detecting my Radeon 3870s as a GeForce 7900. It did not do this originally. Fallout 3 and Oblivion still detect it properly, however.

This problem happens in all games I've tried, across multiple engines, including several Source games, several Gamebryo games, and a few other random games. This is not a BSOD issue, it simply freezes with a black screen. My drivers, DirectX and Windows are all completely up to date.

Edit: Forgot to include customary dxdiag info.

So I have been using ie 11 since coming to win 8, just not a google fan. But my concern is that sometimes when going to full screen mode I notice that on some sites screen will only go to full browser view rather than blowing out to all 4 corners of my screen. I rather like that, you can increase screen size and still have access to the desktop, but I cannot find a way to switch that, is it possible to make the browser always go to full browser size not full screen ? Win 8.1 64bit not a metro user

Thanks in advance for thoughts

A:How can I full screen a game on VGA -> Can I full screen it with settings?

Resolution/aspect ratio

Sounds to me that ether you need to change the resolution in the game or your aspect ratio to match your monitors.
