Dell 7559 shuts down (blue screen) immediately after unplugging charger

Q: Dell 7559 shuts down (blue screen) immediately after unplugging charger

When I unplug the power cord/charger from the computer when it is running the laptop will BlueScreen and reboot, message when this happens is Kernal_Security_Check_Failure. Battery is fully charged and showing 100%. The charger is outputting 19.5V DC. I also tried another Dell charger I have and the computer does the same thing, bluescreens and reboots?? Ran Dell diagnostics on internet support and everything passes. Drivers are up to date and it indicates devices are working properly.
Anyone had this happen and how to fix it?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Dell 7559 shuts down (blue screen) immediately after unplugging charger

Does the system recognize the AC adapter, or does it show "unknown"? F2 at powerup to check.
Will the system power up and stay running on battery only (no power adapter connected)?

Hello! I have been looking online for websites where I can get help for my laptop. I have a Toshiba Satellite L55-C5272. I broke the screen, and replaced it. Then I had one other issue, every time I remove the charger from the laptop, my laptop automatically shuts down. Even with 100% battery. I dont' know what the cause of this is, but I do know I was not messing with the battery. This laptop is about 2 months old, and I don't know what else to do.

If you have any advice or suggestions, you may email me at [email protected]

Thank you for your time,

Please provide following details:
1. Did you buy the battery from Dell or is it a third party battery?2. Did you perform any hardware change apart from the battery?3. Is it an issue that has started after replacing the battery?

I just replaced the laptop power-in jack - this did not fix problem

While it's possible the battery was damaged, it's far more likely the problem is a blown charge circuit on the system board.
Next logical step - replace the mainboard.

My 5 year old Dell Vostro V131 battery doesn't seem to work anymore when unplugged. When it's plugged-in and charging, the computer works fine, but the red "low battery' light blinks constantly. The battery meter shows that the battery is 100% charged. But as soon as the power cord is unplugged, the computer immediately shuts off.
What might be the problem? Should I purchase a new battery?

My Dell Inspiron 17R 5720 doesn't recognize charger any more. And unfortunately my warranty expired 2 month ago.It was plugged in and working in the morning, but then in the afternoon I noticed that it was running on the battery only. It wont start without battery (just charger plugged in).
1. So here what I have done to debug. Me and my brother, we have purchased the same Dell laptops at the same time a year and a bit ago. This is why for a debugging purposes it was good.I took my charger and plugged in to his computer. And it works. Definitely not the charger issue I guess. And when I plug charger in to my computer, green light is still on the charger. And I have the original charger that came with the laptop.
2. Now, laptop works on the battery only, so this means that motherboard is working. I guess.
3. Next thing I did was unplugged charger and removed the battery from the laptop. Then I pushed and hold "Power" button for 45 seconds to discharge a flea charge. Plugged charger back in but laptop wont start.
4. Next I started laptop on the battery, went to BIOS and checked if the charger is recognized in the BIOS. No, it doesn't recognize charger. So, if it is not a charger then what else can it be?
5. Laptop doesn't have any strange smells so I'm not sure if anything happened with the motherboard, but I would assume mother board is ok because it works of the battery.
6. I was thinking updating the BIOS, but I can't, because it wont update whi... Read more

A:Dell Inspiron 17R 5720 doesn't work with charger. Charger is not recognized. Not charger problem.

Hi CJ777,
Thanks for reaching out with your query. You pretty much figured out all points of failure. Good job.
If the adapter is not detected in BIOS, it most likely is an issue with the mother board. In the BIOS set up, AC adapter should show up as 65w or 90w. If the adapter status is 'None' or 'Unknown Device Installed', it indicates that the mother board is not detecting the adapter for which the battery is not getting charged. Once the battery charge drains, I'm sure the adapter will not charge it again. Replacing the system board should resolve this issue.

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with a method to enable sounds for when you plug in or remove a charger connected to your laptop. It is not a problem with my pc, but is an option that is not available for me which i would like to install to let me know if i accidentally unplugged the charger, particularly if I'm working on a full-screen feature. Any help would be appreciated.
I have Windows 7 home Premium 32-bit installed.

A:How to enable sound when plugging/unplugging charger for laptop.

In the System Sounds, there is an option for device connect or disconnect. This will probably do what you want. You will have to assign a sound for those functions.

The System Sounds panel can be accessed from Start/Control Panel/Hardware and Sounds. Click on "Change System Sounds".

Hi all,
Any help would be appreciated. I have a dell inspiron 7559 and have opened my screen this morning to find that the screen has cracked - infuriating as you can imagine! I have definitely not dropped it and am amazed that it has broken. However, I was wondering whether anyone knew of possible places to get a replacement. The screen number is LP156UHD2 and the Dell P/N : 053FC4
The display itself still works fine and the touch screen works but the glass is causing interference with it so have disabled the function. It seems the glass is the only problem but I don't know whether that is replaceable on its own?
Any help would be appreciated!

A:Dell Inspiron 7559 Screen replacement

The glass isn't separately replaceable.  It's a single, fused unit that needs to be replaced that way.

We purchased the 7559 in May 2016 and have been having problems since then.   Several attempts to get this addressed with no luck.  Numerous driver loads/reloads/reconfigurations.   The diagnostics show "no problems", and now Dell Tech Support is saying that it's a software issue requiring a software warrany for an additional charge (before we can ship it back for repair).
Definitely my last Dell given the effort they put into not addressing the issue.
Has anyone else seen this problem on the 7559 (4k or otherwise)?  Did Dell support the issue?  And if so how?  (Please not another "new" driver)?   I have a few months on the warranty and have tired of the technical support that doesn't help.

I've got a seriously annoying blue screen... sometimes it crash after 15 mins. , and sometimes it crash when i play games... please help...

A:Blue screen help immediately!!!

You have given us many dump reports, they are mostly consistent. They indicate this driver to be the cause xbext xbext.sys Fri Oct 01 23:06:32 2010.

Several clues lead to the belief that this may be a serious virus.
No mention of the driver in Google
The relatively new date of the driver
The number of BSODs caused by this same driver
No mention in Google usually means that the virus changes names, possibly a rootkit.

My suggestion is that you post in the security section,, give the facts and wait for a security analyst to help you. I will, also, notify one for you.

Hi, I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 7559 for school, my first laptop ever. It took me about 6 months to finally decide on a laptop, and I'm very happy with it...it's beautiful. But, I've had two problems with the display. First, there is some slight yellow discoloration on the right half, not a big deal, just my ocd, probably just some backlight bleed or something. But the big issue is that the screen brightness flickers constantly. I can only really notice it on the lower brightnesses, but I use those so its a problem. I've tried EVERYTHING. Tons of driver fiddling, power option fiddling. I cant tell if it flickers in the bios screen or lcd bist, but I've disabled both NVidia and intel HD graphics drivers and no matter what I do, it still flickers. This makes me think that this Is a hardware issue. If anyone has some insight, I would really appreciate it. Should I send it in for repair, or just wait a bit as I read online somewhere that the lcd backlight needs to "settle in" for it to stop flickering with takes a decent amount of screen on time. Sorry for the long post, but this is my first pc and I'm a little bit picky about the function of my things. Thanks.

Hi all,
I've recently bought a Dell 7559 refurbished, with the Intel core i5 and GTX 960m. Within a day or two of use, the screen began to flicker upon booting up or waking from sleep mode, and it seems that the longer the laptop was in sleep/off mode, the worse the flickering is upon booting up. I've been trying to figure out what's going on, I've updated all drivers and such from the Dell support page, but nothing seems to fix this issue. Does anyone know what's going on? I'm certainly bummed out to have run into this issue within just days of buying the product. I've uploaded a youtube video to try and show what's going on.

A:Dell 7559 screen/display flickering issue

Hi DukeBaluk,
I’d suggest that you update BIOS on your computer to check for issue resolution. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, then download the BIOS from BIOS section onto the system and install it.
Also, we will have to perform the ‘LCD BIST’ (Built in Self-test) on the computer. Please follow the steps mentioned below to run the “LCD BIST’.

Turn of the computer.
Press and hold down the ‘D’ key on the keyboard and press the Power button.
You will see different colors on the LCD screen. Please check if the issue reoccurs on the screen.

In addition, please connect the system to an external monitor and check if the issue reoccurs.

Bought this laptop for Christmas. I have been having this problem since its purchase. The screen randomly turns black and becomes unresponsive. The power button remains on and so does the display's backlighting. The only way to solve this issue is to restart the laptop which is very frustrating when I have unsaved work. Just noticed this whenever I plug or unplug the charger. The laptop lags for 1-2 seconds before returning to normal. This is noticeable when playing games or watching videos. Haven't seen any abnormal drops or spikes with the temperature of the CPU, GPU and HDD which would suggest a hardware issue. Tried doing this while running 3DBenchmark, and there is a huge drop in FPS, from 130-200fps down to almost 16fps esp. when unplugging the charger. Is this normal?

My Acer AMD Athlon runs on Windows XP 64-bit Professional. This time, upon start-up, by the time I'm ready to click on Internet Explorer, an annoying Blue Screen of Death appears almost immediately. The only information it gives me is the usual:

It also mentioned if the problem persists, to disable BIOS memory such as caching or shadowing, which I don't have the best knowledge of.

It had happened a few times before about a week ago, but had said it was an error while searching for ati3duag.dll. It didn't appear this time.

I then entered Safe Mode with Networking via F8.

I have done multiple scans with these following programs and registry analysis, then restarting, but the Blue Screen problem persists with the same information.

I currently use AVG 9.0, CCleaner, and Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware. I've tried to find a better free registry tweaker/cleaner, as CCleaner is mediocre and doesn't work deep enough to discover the problem.

I recently defragmented my sytem, searched for any stray .dll's and suspicious registry misplacements/strews. After one more restart, the same information appeared, but at a later interval.

A start-up proccess is quite suspicious and it might have to do with the Blue Screen, which still may remedy the problem if i disable it.

I'm using Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2. I do not have windows backup/recovery enabled, so I unfortunately can not just restore a previous backup.

I am able to login as Safe Mode so I'd guess it's not a hardware issue.

My computer worked fine last night, i did not instal any new software/updates yesterday and I shut down my computer normally, then this issue came up when I turned my computer on this morning. My computer boots up fine until it gets to the Windows screen to choose which user to login as. Once I choose one it crashes within 1-2 seconds after I type my password and hit enter. It just says "Loading user data..." or whatever then crash.

At this point it was previously rebooting, but I logged in as Safe Mode and disabled the "reboot on crash" thing so that I get a blue screen instead. My blue screen says the usual stuff about "a problem was detected... blah blah" then:

One note about this blue screen, in the line "*** STOP: ..." the number 0xF820D788 is different everytime it crashes, otherwise the entry is the same

Hey everyone,

I have an ongoing problem that is driving me nuts. Whenever I insert a blank (writeable) CD/DVD +R the computer gives me the "blue screen of death" and does a memory dump. I am pretty sure its a driver issue but not positive. It is a sporadic problem, in that, sometimes I can insert a blank CD/DVD and it will take it just fine, but if I do 2 in a row, down it goes. What makes me think it is a driver issue is Windows XP SP3 seems to be loading something (noticed on process explorer) when the crash occurs. Same thing was happening in SP2 as well, and SP3 didn't fix the issue.

I do not think its a hardware issue as I have replaced my DVD burner with the same issue with the new one. For awhile I thought maybe is was related to the lightscribe driver, but killed this process and it still did it again.

Here is the Blue screen error code from the manifest.

I have attached the memory dump (in a ZIP file) with the error code and the XML file. 0

So recently, my Y40-80 started to shut down immediately after i unplug the power source. At first, i figured it's due to my battery, so i got a new one and got rid of the old one. But the problem still exists. I've called in to Lenovo support and they said my warranty doesn't cover this, so it'll be due to charge, which i think is ridiculous since if it's a hardware failure, i do not see why i should be charged just because i don't have the original battery. Anyways, i've tried reformatting and that did not work. Anyone out there could help me please? Appreciate it!

A:Y40-80 shuts down upon unplugging

Hi rx24race ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Would the new battery be a direct purchase from Lenovo or declared genuine replacement Lenovo battery ?
Within the warranty coverage would be the original parts that came with the machine.
As you mentioned that with a new battery you are still having the same issue but since this would be a charging issue , it is yet to be investigated if it was the systemboard or battery itself is the fault.
Option that I suggest is to have it taken perhaps to service provider like best buy that can check with a certified compatible battery and have them assist you on having it serviced or to call in directly using the same case number you were provided.
Update us on how it would work best for your situattion.

So this is a long story. First, about a month ago, I was browsing Bing and ended up with the ThinkPoint Virus. It took about a week to be fully rid of it. I tried everything, including a system restore, to no avail, before finally very carefully following directions to remove it through the registry. It worked, or so it seemed. As time went by, I noticed WAY too many (57 of them at one point, not kidding) instances of mshta.exe running. A quick Google search revealed that several people had the same problem after defeating Think Point, and some had discovered that going to control panel -> scheduler and deleting the "At1" "At2" "At3"...through to "At48". I did, and THAT problem was solved. Less than a week later, the computer started acting funny again. It started just by being slow. Then it began freezing. Then the popups began. First was a "You Have Won A $1000 Wal-Mart Gift Card!" window, which looked like a Windows Alert box, and was accompanied by audio with the same message. Next, there were pop ups of all sorts. Ads. Google began redirecting me to random ads and something called "Ask To Friends." I checked the Task Manager and I found four instances of iexplore.exe, though I only had one window open, and seven instances of rundll32.exe. That seemed very wrong. I ran a manual scan on Avast. It found nothing. I disconnected from the internet, disabled Avast, and ran Malwarebytes. It found a trojan &q... Read more

Stop: c000021a {Fatal System Error} The Session Manager Initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000189 (0x00000000 0x00000000) The system has been shut down.

That was the first time i got any message. I have a systemax computer and am on windows xp sp3, but after a friend came in from out of town to visit, i noticed him on my pc and thought nothing of it. Then when i would use it, it would just cut OFF as if the power source was being removed, not the actual shutdown process. But i would be able to cut it back on, however, usually right after logging in or as i try to open a program, it cuts off again. I kept cutting it back on and tried a program from microcenter called 'system mechanic'. it said i had 95 registry errors and it fixed everything....or so i thought. I used my pc again happily for a whole 2 hours then, it cut off again. then I couldnt get it back on. when i tried it gave me the above message. It wouldnt even start in safe mode. I thought i ruined my pc, but then i remembered that when i leave it alone until after midnight, it comes back on.... i left it alone until 6 am this morning, and i insalled a fix it program from MS, i just want to make sure this will actually fix the problem and want to know what caused it, what does that mean? This guy became very upset with me and did a lot of petty things b4 i put him out like unplug my mouse, keyboard, and speakers from pc and broke my ac! and more. Plus i know he is a p... Read more

Hi best to stay away from Registry cleaners - cause more problems than they solve.
Reboot - tap F8
Safe mode with command prompt..
Log on as administrator.
Press enter>Choose>Launch system restore.
Choose date prior to the problem.

Do you have the original install Cd?

This is a recent problem I ran into with my new 7559. About a week ago I did a factory reset because the speakers were having a problem, and it worked fine for a couple days. Afterwards it would go into this flickering loop after it would wake up from sleep. This makes it so anytime I'm not using the laptop I basically have to shut it down, which really ***. I've posted a link of what the issue looks like. I ran the dell hardware test and my computer passed, and I also updated my drivers so I don't know what else to do. Thank you to anyone who can shed some light on what's happening.

A:Computer shuts down after unplugging headphones

There isn't an option within Windows (that I'm aware of) to shut down when headphones are removed. So I would suspect it's a hardware fault.

Does the same occur if you connect the headphones to the rear audio port?

Around a week ago, maybe two, my computer showed a message that said I should change my battery, which to my annoyance, of course was somewhat right, as it was not able to hold power for even an hour anymore. After about one day, I got my first blue screen. I got my second a couple of hours after that, and realized something was wrong.

Since that I have gotten consistent blue screens every other day, and I suspect it is linked to my battery and charger. Everytime I get a blue screen, it shows a field of text saying:

Now, I checked by device manager and found that one of my USB hubs was listed as an unknown device. I updated the driver, but it seemed to be up to date. That's when I noticed the driver was called AIchargers.sys. It seems to me that it is my charger plug, a port I didn't know was treated as an USB hub.

Is there any way I can fix this occurence, do I need to change the battery/charger or should I replace my computer for good?

I have a Toshiba Satellite L650 that is almost two years old. About a month ago the laptop started shutting off immediately after the power cord was disconnected. I have since bought two new batteries and one power cord to see if either of those items were causing the problem but it still keeps shutting off. Any suggestions? THANKS!!!

Hi Tech forum,

So i have a pretty puzzling issue that's been skin-peelingly fustrating to fix. I have an Acer Aspire 5552g laptop with a newly installed motherboard and ram that works perfectly fine with the AC adapter. However, once i unplug the AC adapter, the laptop shuts off with 10-20 minutes of usage. And it's not a normal shut-down. It freezes for a good 2-3 seconds, the fan kicks in, and does a hard shut off. No warning or anything. I made sure the connections where correct when installing the new mobo, per manual instructions (and some visual help on youtube) and it definitely does not overheat. I check temps constantly for any anomalies.
But it still shuts off when it is not using direct power supply from the AC adapter.
I figured the original battery was defective, so i purchased a new battery from acer that came in a few days ago and it's still happening on this new battery.

I flashed the bios with a current version from acer support site. I tried taking the battery out and holding the power button for 20 seconds to discharge whatever any currents that may be stuck i guess (read it somewhere on a forum). BTW the OS is windows 8 pro (clean install and updated drivers). I also have windows 7 home premium installed (dual boot/ with updated drivers as well) to see if the problem persists there as well, and it does. I figured maybe these windows OS's have problems so i tried booting a disk image of Ubuntu and it also does the same problem here too.

Good Morning all,
I have a Dell Inspiron 15 (7559) Laptop.  When I went to go power on the laptop, the keyboard lights up, but nothing appears on screen.  I also noticed the "Battery Light" indicator on the laptop was flashing.  It would flash white four times and then flash orange two times.  In the beginning I thought my laptop had died so I went ahead and charged the laptop.  I was able to charge the laptop, so I'm thinking that the battery is still good.  I'm hoping someone out here on these forums can help me diagnose and resolve this issue before I contact tech support.  Any information you guys/gals can provide is greatly appreciated.
