I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

In December of 2015 I bought my daughter a Lenovo 300-15ISK IdeaPad. In many ways it was a good laptop, but it wasn't durable and I wouldn't buy another one. After 5 months (May 2016) part of the housing around the power connection was broken. Because of this the power cord wouldn't plug in all the way and the IdeaPad wouldn't charge. I took it back to where I had purchased it (MicroCenter) to be repaired. I was told that this type of repair was not covered by the warranty, and the price they quoted me was over $300 (about 3/4 of what I paid for the laptop). I was upset that the repairs weren't covered and that they were so expensive. Other places near me had similar prices for this repair. Luckily I was able to jury-rig a solution so the power connection would stay in place and the IdeaPad could be plugged in and charged. My solution lasted until late 2016 before I needed to adjust it again. That 'solution' lasted until this March before it failed again. This time the power connection became detached from the interior of the laptop. So I opened up the laptop in order to fix it again. This IdeaPad was clearly not designed to be repaired -- opening it up was an adventure which strained my abilities and patience. I was able to reconnect the power connection and reclose the laptop, but the IdeaPad will no longer start. So I am left with a bricked IdeaPad, a poor opinion of the durability of Lenovo products, and a worse opinion of Lenovo warranty terms.

I recently purchased a Lenovo Ideapad 110-15ISK, Model 80UD0017US, and would like to purchase a 2nd power adapter as a backup. I saw in the hardware manual that there are several part numbers listed, and the specific ones on my adapter are:45w AC Adapter Model Name: PA-1450-55LLLC P/N: 5A10H42923 In looking for the part online, I saw several on eBay and Amazon with the PA-1450-55LL reference, but at least one seller mentioned that the size of the connectors aren't always the same. In the hardware manual I did not see a reference as to the connector size (ie 4.0mm*1.7mm), which is the connector size reference I saw by one seller. Does anyone know the connector size on this power adapter for my model? Thanks,Kim

Hey guys, I have a following problem: I run windows and linux on my notebook. On windows I can activate 'energy saving mode'(chargng only to 60%) in the app Lenovo Vantage (lenovo companion's new version). And every time I turn my notebook off (no matter if I'm using win or linux) and take the power cable out, the saving mode is resetted and after pluging in power cable the notebook will charge to 100%. I don't wanna this because I work almost all the time on power cable, I want to conserve my battery. So my questions are:1 what is wrong? How the power saving mode can be set permanently?2 how to turn saving mode on linux ubuntu (I'd like to move to linux, no need to use windows anymore, only energy saving keeps me using win) I'd be so grateful if some of you answered, I've been not happy with this problem for almost 2 years and now found this forum and decided to ask for your help

I recently bought a M.2 SSD and I want to use it as a cache drive. Intels RST requires AHCI mode, I was under the assumption that I was already in AHCI mode but my inability to create any raid volumes through the disk management or have my drives recognized by the RST app says otherwise. There is no option to change my mode from IDE to AHCI in BIOS due to it being locked. How can I work around this?

A:Lenovo ideapad Y700-15ISK how to put into AHCI

Look in the device manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller, it should say Intel(R) 100 Series/C230 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller. For your second part of your question, you need at least 2 disk with unallocated areas to make a RAID array. But, saying that I would never setup a software RAID (ie windows) array and the BIOS doesnt support a hardware RAID

So I'm planning on buying this model: Lenovo Ideapad Y700-15ISK, but the one I'm looking to buy doesn't have an SSD and doesn't specify which ports are still available, only that it has a 1TB HDD. So I wanted to ask: 1. Does it have a free M.2 port? all models of the Y700-15ISK should have them, or am I wrong? 2. Which type of M.2 SSD does it support? M or B+M? I already sent the same questions to the retailer, but I am still waiting for an answer so thought I'd ask here as well.

I'm having some lag with my touchpad, about every 3 seconds. Searched around about this problem and did some updates on the driver.

Even did a factory reset, but same problem.

Anyone having similar problem and fixed it?
Read somewhere that it may have something to do with the Realtek HD audio software/driver??

Using external mouse for the most, but would be nice to have the option to use a functional touchpad from time to time.

Hello, it has been 2 days since i bought a lenovo y700 15isk, Model Name 80NV, MTM 80NV00CNRI and im having big problems with fans, they run very loud with no reason. When i start up the windows 10, for about 5 minutes it stays very quiet, but when i start using for example youtube or facebook ore something that does not need very much processing power the fans kick in immediatly, and never low down any more. Hey guys!! So yeah, I have a Lenovo Ideapad Y700 15ISK laptop. It's a really cool laptop! And it's a monster in gaming! Also, it's new. I had it with me for about 2 months now. I have no negative comments about this laptop. This laptop was my dream laptop. I always take care of it and made sure it is in top condition.  But you see, One day, like 3-4 days ago (sunday), when I got home I turned on my laptop to update my excel table for my expenses, it was bout 90%. After that, I took a nap leaving my laptop still turned on. When I woke up, I saw it was 10% percent. Of course, like any normal person would do, I plugged in the charger. To my suprise, It suddenly turned off by itself right after I plugged in the charger to the wall socket. Thinking that It just got lowbat, it was all right for me. Or so I thought. After that, I noticed that there were no lights that indicate that it is charging in my laptop. Please help!!! It's been 3 or 4 days now and I still can't use it!!! It won't charge, it won't turn on because of the lowbat and I can't fix it.Any ideas?? (i have a background on Electronics Engineering if it matters) i did some analysis. 1. I'm pretty sure that the battery is okay, but of course it's lowbat cause it shutdown at 10%. 2. My charger is perfectly fine. There isn't a way to manualy turn off the fans. Keep your laptop well ventilated in a cool place, and choose a power plan different than "High Performance". If your laptop gets cool enough, it will stop the fans

Thats a power issue, simply "Hard Reset"  by removing the power cable from the laptop and then press and hold the power button for more than 20 seconds. Then wait a few seconds and turn it on simply! If it doesn't work, do it 2-3 times, for me it worked the 3rd time. After that, go to a service centre cuz then it might be a hardware issue!

Good evening, It's more about notifying (and perhaps helping other people): using latest NVidia from Lenovo on an Ideapad Y700-15ISK (GeForce GTX 960M) gives poor performances with Windows 10 Creators Fall Update on old games such as Wolfenstein Enemy Territory or Sven-Co-Op; I had an older build before and it was running well.Updating to latest NVidia drivers through GeForce Experience, fixed.Had stable 125 FPS (with Lenovo drivers from October 2016), after Creators with Lenovo 25-40 FPS, and now again 125 FPS with latest non-Lenovo NVidia drivers.

Hi, I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 510-15IKB that has developed some issues.  I took it apart to replace a faulty fan module, and put it back together and started having issues with video to the display not working.  Took it apart again to reseat all cables and look at the display cable and its connection to the mainboard.  All looked fine... and the notebook started fine and I had the display working again.  Then after a power recycle lost the display again, so took the notebook apart again, and found that if I removed the main power to the mainboard and reconnected it I could get the display to come back, but only until I recycled the power to the computer again, then it was gone.  Decided to just live with the notebook display not working and just use an external display via the HDMI connector, which worked fine for a few days... then the notebook just shut off.  Now it will not power back up... the AC adapter is good, verified via multimeter, I have tired to power up the notebook with the battery disconnected, no-go, with it connected, no-go, I do not get a charge or power indicator at all anymore.  I think the notebook should power up with the internal battery disconnected, yes?  It does not.  I looked in the Lenovo maintenance manual, and these symptoms point to a bad mainboard.  I can't believe that it could be bad on such a new notebook.  The fan going bad after less than a year I can live with, but loosing the main... A:Lenovo Ideapad Y410p won't power on... No power light?

Hi jack61 ,

Greetings.

We now know, power drain failed. No LED error codes , No beep codes
No activity lights even with battery charging led.
Not turning on even with known good charged batteries.
No power even with known good ac adapter.

What we can try:
Try plugging it directly on the wall and press novo key (number 1 page 7) to turn it on instead.
Check if the power port shows any signs of burnt / damage / looseness .
Press Novo key using a charged battery.
Remove battery, harddrive , memory and other accessories and plug directly with a known working adapter and or with a charged battery ( it should at least beep).

If all fails , you can have it checked for the motherboard issue with a technician (checking on the internals /cleaning or reseating parts connected to the board / applying thermal paste (for processor isolation) / checking on dc in board and port).

You can check for your warranty here and call in tech support for service.

Regards

We have just purchased a sizable number of the IdeaPad 310 i7 laptops and have run into an issue with the size of the power supply unit that comes with them. These devices are supplied with a chunky all-in-one plug/power unit which does not fit laptop trolleys we have available for charging them - the rear door will not close. Unfortunately, this only came to light after purchase as the power unit is not described in any sales information. Lenovo support were unable to assist and came back with this suggestion: I do apologise that the unit`s chargers are causing issues with your planned usage of these. The only other option I could recommend is that you seek a recommendation that could possibly replace the charger for you on our forums as on this channel we are not able to recommend any of these.  If there is anyone able to assist I'd be glad to here from them. Thanks

I bought my laptop from BH not even 1 month ago and barely used the laptop since I travel a lot. Today in the morning, I was watching a video and laptop just shutdown itself (battery was almost fully charged and unplugged) like you unpluge a TV and the screen disappears. Afterwards, I tried to open it but simply power button does not work. I plugged in the adapter but there is no sign that laptop is working (no lights, no screen, no fans, nothing).I cannot believe I am having such a stupid problem like this. Is there anyone knows what can be the problem and the solution ?  (I already tried to remove the rams and replaced with working rams but nothing changed)Currently I live in Austria and I don't even know if the warranty covers in this country.

A:Lenovo Y700 - No Power

Hi CandyDulfer ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I would help if you specify the type of  Y700 or if you can provide the machine number.
Check on the machine number from the sticker or check it from here ,just keep your serial number confidential.

Any indicator light when you plug in the charger like a battery charging light?
It would help if you can test the charger itself with a voltmeter if you have the tools and skill by following the power checkup guide from your hardware manual downloadable from the support site (change the product type if needed. Known good adapter can also help to isolate the issue.

Since the battery is internal and the issue is with power , it would be best to check technical support if they would be able to assist you for repair as specific models parts may not available in Austria and you may have to contact the location of purchase for in warranty service.

I haven't used my Ideapad U430 Touch much recently but it's not powering on. The screen doesn't come on. The GPU/CPU fan sometimes spins about 1/4 of a rotation, the power button light, the keyboard backlight, the side battery and HDD lights all just flash white every 5 seconds or so - continuously.  I've tried the various things people have recommended - unplugging battery, removing Power and pressing the power button 10 times with a second pause in between, then holding the power button for 30 or 60 seconds. No change. Any ideas? The above happens regardless of whether the battery is in or not. I've swapped out the RAM, no changes.

Currently have a Lenovo W530 that won't turn on. Right before the laptop "died" I was doing work and it was plugged in and then it suddenly just turned off. When I plug the laptop in the charging indicator light does not turn on (nor do any lights). Here is what I've attempted:Removed the battery and unplug from power and hold the power button for a minute to dissipate any charge that may remain. Then I just plug in the charger and try to turn the laptop back onPurchased a new battery chargerIn both cases nothing has changed, it seems like the laptop is just dead. My next attempt would be to replace the CMOS battery but I feel like I should be getting some sort of response from the charge being plugged in, regardless whether or not it needs a new CMOS battery. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
