block the download option n ISA server

Q: block the download option n ISA server

am using ISA 2000 server.how to block the download

Preferred Solution: block the download option n ISA server

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello W10Forums;

We are thinking about releasing the Windows 10 upgrade into the wild on the machines of our customers. However, since we are using specific management software e.t.c., we do not wish the users to perform a clean install of Windows 10, only the in-place upgrade.

Is there a way to remove the 2 other options in the upgrade screen?

I have Uniform Server I am trying to use with my domain with it. Everything is setup correct and works perfectly on XP but the exact same setup on 7 will not let my domain resolve. It works on local host but not MyDomain | Domain Names, Web Hosting, and Free Domain Services.

The Windows 7 firewall is setup to allow Apache server and tried turning the Firewall off and Windows Defender but resolving the domain is still blocked and have no idea why!

Natural ports are forwarded in the router etc.

Have you tried adjusting the NTLM authentication levels in the GPO of the Windows 7 machine?

I have also read that changing the DNS server IP in IPv4 properties window of the Windows 7 machine to the same DNS server IP as the Domain controller is using may allow you to join the Domain.

Or try enabling DNS server service at Domain server.

After rebooting the machine and logging into the domain account, go back to the IP 4 properties and reset the DNS to automatically get the ip address.

Hi! Well, I finally have my upstairs and downstairs computers wirelessly connected and networked. Now I can't seem to download anything with my new computer, the one that's wirelessly linked with the one upstairs.
I'm trying to set up Firefox with all its pluggins, etc., and when I click "download now" or "begin download"for a pluggin like JAVA or Adobe Reader, nothing happens. Nothing.
So, I think somewhere there's a check box for "enable downloads", but I can't find it. I'm running Windows XP Media Center with SP2.
Does anyone have an idea where the glitch is?
Thanks so much.

Just wanting users opinions on IE 10 that will be coming to Win 7 here in the very near future. (It's the final version). Is it worth the download upcoming or not? You experts here would know. If not I will install the IE 10 blocker.

A:Upcoming download for IE10. Block or not.

I won't block it initially and I want to give it a try.

I like to keep my systems updated for hopefully "the latest and best security".
Whenever I make a major change I create a System Backup Image before making the change.
That way, I can back out the change if it doesn't work out, causes problems, etc.

I always create a Backup Image for:
- Patch Tuesday
- A new SP (Service Pack)
- A new version of IE
- A new version of MS Security Essentials (or any AV/AM program)
- Whenever I want to test a new Program or make a significant configuration change

I'm at a point where I don't make any changes to my Primary "Machine" without first testing the change on my "Test Box".
So, for me a Monthly Backup Image is enough on my Primary PC...

I do test many things on my Test Box, so I backup (and restore) a LOT more...

My primary browser is Firefox, but I want to try the new IE 10.
I don't want to install it prior to the official release...
I've read about issues with people installing a "pre-release" where there are problems after the official release.

I'm looking forward to seeing it!

SYSTEM BACKUP IMAGING - the best thing since sliced bread.

I do hide updates for things I don't want such as Language Packs, Bing Desktop, Drivers (I don't want), etc.
I would not want to hide an update like this, as future IE security updates may depend on this update.

Just my opinion/2 cents ...

My son uses Ventrilo for online gaming, however, there is one server I would like to block his access to because it's a bit..."mature" for him. I have the IP address of the server as well as the port, I wonder if it would be possible to block it via the router, or the firewall running on his PC. The router is a Linksys and the current firewall is ZoneAlarm. I wouldn't be against changing to another firewall if that is necessary.

A:How to Block Access to Ventrilo Server

If you are running windows xp, you can:

Open the folder windows\system32\drivers\etc
Open the "Hosts" file using notepad
There should already be an entry of " localhost" in there
Just type in "<ip address of vent server> localhost" (without quotes)
If you have the dns address of the server then type " <server name>" (again without quotes)

This will prevent his computer from accessing that server.

Hi there,
I have been kindly advise on other thread here about a proxy server I can run on my servers top filter pages on a network.

However the proxy server requires you to manually input a lift of websites, or keywords to block.
I am thinking as there are so many, this would be a very tedious task; and there must be a website that lists it all for you?

It allows you to put it straight into the software, or into a .txt folder.
Does anyone Know of such as site? I have tried a google, but neither know exactly what to search for, or have found anything of any use.

I am a big fan of openDNS and want to prevent any client on the network from changing their DNS servers from the router setting.

While I am able to set the default DNS router on the Edimax router, devices on the network can easily change the DNS setting to Google ( or other.

The Edimax router has a fairly spartan UI and I was looking for help. While they don't have a specific setting to block alternate DNS, I was hoping I could use the QoS, Static Routing, or Firewall (IP Filtering) to accomplish this.

When I have tried with IP Filtering I have only been able to successfully block ALL port 53 requests, which has the problem of blocking all DNS servers and making me unable to connect to website.

Static Routing I'm not sure what settings I would put in, as the router asks for Destination LAN IP, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Hop Count, Interface (WAN/LAN). I haven't been able to get this to work.

QoS I thought was setup correctly to limit bandwidth to 0mbps on all requests to but it doesn't seem to be working.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. While Windows and Mac has full fledged settings to manage this sort of thing, iOS devices and other mobile devices don't really offer the ability for me to handle this except at the router level.

Hi -
I am interested in knowing how to check on my 2003 Server what usernames are blocked from downloading. Many of the clients seemed to have downloaded Google Talk and also Spotify. I was wondering if I can check -where it is located and how to enforce this policy. (or create it if it isn't in effect correctly)

A:Windows Server 2003 Group Policy Block Downloading

Unless your 2003 Server is acting as a proxy, I don't see how it can stop users from downloading content if they have domain rights to install programs onto their computers. The only way I can see controlling this activity via domain rights is if you restrict their ability to install programs onto their computers

The other way to control unwanted network activity is to employ a proper firewall/proxy which can block said protocols.

Finally, since this is most likely a business network we're dealing with here, do you have an acceptable use policy? If you don't, you need to put one in place first. You'll be surprised how many of these issues are mostly remedied when what is acceptable on corporate networks are spelled out and what the consequences of not following the rules are. People many times behave differently when their jobs can be on the line if they knowingly break the rules.

While on the internet today, my internet security program  advised me that it had blocked a potential web attack: Malicious File Download Attack 24.  Looking at the log files in Norton, I can see the severity of the attack, but it says no action is required for Recommendation of action.  While doing a little research on my own, I can see that doesn't always mean something didn't find its way on my machine. It just happened, so there are no obvious signs of abnormal system performance going on.  How can I be sure?  Also, I've read through several fixes of similar issues on here where the user was advised to run ComboFix under the guidance of a technical adviser.  I would like to do the same.

If you registered forr the Windows 7 Upgrade option disk and your manufacturer is supposed to send you a voucher that you can redeem online to microsoft to get them to ship you a disk, can you download the disk as an option? because I have no cd drive.

A:Download Upgrade option disk?

As far as I know, manufacturers ship out an Upgrade Kit containing a clean copy of Win7 DVD and a drivers/apps CD you can pick what you want from. No bloatware. Very nice.

What you would need to do is borrow a computer or use one at school or the library, put in a 4gb+ USB flash stick, format it primary FAT or NTFS in Disk Management, copy the files from the DVD drive directly into the root of the flash drive exactly as they appear in the DVD explorer.

Now take the flash stick back to your computer, plug it in and reboot, at bootup look on the first screen for Boot Menu F-key to tap repeatedly, then select the flash stick in the Hard drives given. It should boot, unless there are BIOS settings (enable USB) or Updates (check your manufacturer's Support Downloads page for your model).

The installer is driver-complete, meaning you might not need anything off the driver/apps CD, but if you do you can browse it later and copy those to the flash stick, which can hold other files besides the installer.

The other way is to connect your computer to a network and copy the files from the CD drive of another computer to your desktop where you can run Setup to install over your XP/Vista or to another partition or drive. But you need a bootable installer for possible repairs, anyway, so go for it!

I connect to my terminal server, no problems at all (Windows 2003 (SP2) Server platform).

I then use Terminal Services Manager 5.2 to connect to my users devices using the "Remote Control" option from within.

My issue is that over the last week or so (this feature has been running with no problems for 2 years +) this feature returns the following error:

"Because of a protocol error, this session will be disconnected. Please try connecting to the remote computer again".

Then proceeds to disconnect me from the terminal server entirely.

Can anyone advise why this has suddenly started occuring and more importantly, advise a solutiion.

A:Terminal Server Manager - Remote Control Option

I'm having a similar probelm.

I'm running XP SP3 and can remote into my TS fine (Server 2003) but I get the same message when I then try to remote control a user using the Terminal Services Manager on the TS.

The thing is I think this has only started since I updated my Remote Desktop Connection to version 7. (May show up as KB969084) I'm not able to un-install KB969084 though as it doesn't show up in my list of installed updates in the Add Remove Programs.

Do you know if you're PC was updated with the RDC v7 or have you found a fix for your issue?
Update: I've found this

which describes my problem exactly. Doesn't seem however to be a fix listed there.

Hi Sam,

I would like to know what your Windows 7 model is. 32-bit or 64-bit? What is your remote server model?

If you are running 32-bit OS on locally, please make sure your remote server is the same model. If your remote server is 64-bit OS, you may need 64-bit version of
typerperf at C:\Windows\SysWOW64

Also, try the double '%%', for example:
