I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

You could use the System Restore feature to get your computer back the time when it worked.

I've had my Lenovo ideapad Flex 15 for just over a year now, so I guess this is the time at which things start going kerplooey. Today my touchscreen started going haywire, clicking rapidly and repeatedly in one random spot in the top left corner of my screen, so fast I couldn't use my touchpad to get the cursor away from the spot. After closing and reopening the computer, the problem stopped momentarily but then came back. I rebooted and when Windows restarted I received a pop up that "Windows Mouse and Keyboard Center has stopped working." The problem returned shortly after, and now my touchscreen has stopped working altogether. Can anyone help me?

A:Ideapad Flex 15 touchscreen woes

Update: The problem is now intermittently returning. If I close my laptop and reopen it, it seems to disable the touchscreen for a period of time so that I'm able to actually use my computer for a bit before it starts feverishly attacking that one area of the screen. All instructions I've found online to disable the touchscreen haven't worked... I'd love to have it functioning again though. Help?

Hi everyone, The touchscreen of my idepad flex 14 stopped to work suddenly. I have upgraded to Windows 10 recently and  didn't have any problem but now the defect came up. I have checked the device manager and the HID compliant touch screen driver is there (Version from 2006) and seems to be ok. I have tried to upgrade the driver but Windows says that is the latest version. Is there a driver from Lenovo for the touchscreen device? I really would appreciate any help. Thanks,Mike

I  have an Ideapad Flex 15.

Since I upgraded yesterday to Windows 10, I have lost the touchscreen ability I had up to that point on Windows 8.1. On search for pen and touch, I was given this message on a system information page: "No pen or touch input is available for this display." I have looked in device manager under Human Interface Devices. Expanding the view to show hidden devices, I see "HID compliant touch screen." When I click to get device status, this is the message:

"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

How do I do that? I note a similar problem in Windows 8.1 on this posting:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-hardware/touchscreen-not-working/c48cda2...

Does anyone have any idea how to reconnect the hardware device -- or at least to solve this problem? Thanks!

Installed Windows 10 on it, and it didn't fix it, reset to Windows 8, no fix, upgraded to 8.1 and still no fix, all updates and drivers installed, tried the device manager thing, yet still no touchscreen response. It doesn't even show up in device manager. Also, now the display, doesn't cover the whole screen, there are black bars all around the edges.

I have a year old Lenovo Ideapad Flex 4-1470 laptop.  The computer works perfectly, however the touch screen does not work all the time.  Some of the keys on the keyboard won't work, some areas of the screen do not register my finger everytime, etc.  I took it to the place of purchase (Office Max) and they ran a diagnostic check that came up perfect... the computer is working like it should.  I have a warranty on the computer for 3 years trough SquareTrade.  I don't use the touch screen really at all (only use it because it's there), but I'm annoyed that it doesn't work correctly because it's only a year old.  Any suggestions on a fix?  I can't find a calibration reset for the touch screen or any kind of up system reboot.  Any help will be appreciated.

The touchscreen on my Flex 15 stopped working. I am not sure exactly when, but in the last few months.  I am already on Win10, and it has worked fine since the Win10 upgrade over a year ago.  In Device Manager, I can see the HID Touch Screen entry.  I tried uninstalling and deleting it, followed by a restart.  Reinstalled itself on start-up, but no joy.  It claims to be working.   I have seen other similar posts saying to delete entries under Mice... but I don't see any Touch Screen entries there.Interestingly, I see most of the drivers have Event dates of 2-Jul 2017, saying "Device migrated". I am suspecting some delightful Micorsoft "improvement" on that date may have been the cuplrit, but I also feel like the touch screen may have been working after that date.  Unfortunately, I don't use the touch screen very often, but I DO need it now and then. Thoughts?

Hello! I'm experiencing a somewhat common-sounding problem with my touch screen.  It's not listing under Pen and Touch on the System Information page of Control Panel, but I can locate it in Device Manager under Mice and Other Pointing Devices>USB Touchscreen Controller(A111).  I can use it like a mouse but it doesn't work like a touch screen.  I'm not quite savvy enough to uninstall the drivers in Device Manager and hope for the best - I feel like I'm going to wreck something by accident.  Any advice?

A:Lenovo Flex 5 - Wacom Device code 10 and missing touchscreen drivers

Found out that in order for the Windows 10 installation to detect the PCIe SSD, you have to go into the BIOS and change the SATA Controller Mode to AHCI.  Now that only leaves the Wacom drivers having a code 10 and the missing touch screen drivers.

Hi SmileSmoke,

Have you contacted Lenovo Support and spoken to them about your situation? Did you contact them when the unit was returned to you to log the fault?

If you did for the second question then they should be able to help you and repair under warranty as it would be a failed repair.

Sounds like the problem may be with you PXE server either not reachable, or is not passing the proper Network Boot Program files to the client.

I've had my Flex 4 for about three months now. It worked fine last night but when I went to turn it on today the keyboard lit up and turned off repeatedly but the screen stays dark. The power light goes on and off with the keyboard but the light that says it's charging stays on. I can occasionally hear the fans kick on when the keyboard lights up but it turns off when it goes dark and they don't go on every time. It's not overly hot and I know it's charged. I've held down the power button and I tried using the Novo button and it didn't do anything. I've tried taking out the AC adapter out and holding the power button and then plugging it back in again with no success. Anyone have any advice?

Hello there, Not really sure whether this is a topic that i can post here on this particular section. If it is against the rule, please let me know i will removed it.  Earlier this year( around January) I purchased a ideapadd Flex 4 from the Microsoft store around my house. Everything is fine, until one day my screen started to go black and sometimes the screen color become very very red. I took the laptop to the store before i went back. The store told me that it is because the laptop's screen itself is kind damaged which require me to send my laptop back to Lenovo to fix the screen. When i bought my computer, I also have the one year warranty with this computer. My question right now is is it possible for me to say instead of asking Lenovo to fix the screen, can I say exchange this laptop for a new series? what I mean is I saw the Lenovo Legion online and was thinking is it possible to say i send in my old one and get Lenovo Legion and any price difference between the two laptop i will just pay? it is just that if i do send in my ideapad to Lenovo it will take 2 weeks for them to fix and i really really tried to avoid that because my class is about to start and without my only laptop for more than a week is a bit of stretch for me. I see that for me to order the Lenovo laptop online will approximately take them 3-4 days to ship If this topic is not ok to post here please do let me know and if this issue is better for me to talk to a representat... I have had this device for 13 month. 8 months after I purchased it, I worked with Lenovo to diagnose a problem with the power cord and that was replaced.  One month after warrenty expired, device would suddenly power off, but would power back up, with or without cord. After approximately 1 week of this, it would only stay on with power cord attached even though battery indicated full.  Then suddenly would no longer turn on. Tried to use my extended warranty thru Costco. Was sent in to their repair station in Lawrenceville GA. They reported to Costco that there was water damage (which Costco won't cover without my having purchased another different warranty from them) and that the repair amount was over $700 (more than I paid for the machine).  I am a former IT employee, now retired, and I have NEVER spilled anything on this device. I cracked the back open and looked for damage or for any tags that had changed color on motherboard, or a possible detector on motherboard that had changed color.  Don't see anything - no corrosion.  Just prior to machine not turning on again, I connected to the Lenovo diagnostics and ran the dx on this laptop.  It showed no errors.  Are there any water exposure stickers on this device?  and what would indicate water damage?  thanks for any assistance
