Preferred Solution: reply to my post gaming comp.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey there, i am having a problem with my Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset - the microphone doesn't want to work... oddly. I have tried the sound setting but it doesn't seem to work.
I started of by going to Sound > Recording > then it says three thing:
Microphone .... with a tick beside it ... working
Microphone FP .... Not Plugged in (When it clearly is)(Headset comes with detachable Mic)
Digital In... working.

Also when i try fiddle with the setting to enable the microphone it does not let me "configure" it .... and when i try set up the microphone it doesn't want to start up unless i disable the microphone it would say "Wizard could not start"

My Microphone is not on mute and the the jacks are correctly colour coded in place.
My sound Cards is : Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic
Headset: Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset - Noise Cancellation Microphone with Gold Plated 3.5mm Jack
It the one with the detachable microphone - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/128208
The microphone is defiantly working when i configure the speakers, so that i can speak through the microphone and hear out the speakers but i can't record
Thank You, look forward in reading your replies

i have the same headset and i havent had any problems, i dont think the issue is with the headset itself but rather it being with the soundblaster, any chance you could take a snip of the sound inputs for me to try and establish a bit more information?
(select snipping tool and window snip, highlight the input window and left click)

It all started with my pc restarting(it was a power failure) to show boot device failure, insert system disk, i tried everything, from unplugging usb devices to re inserting sata cables but to no avail, now when i try to reinstall windows the setup recognizes all my partitions but refuses to install into any of them, ubuntu only recognizes one of my hard disk and partition( i have 1 big 500 g hdd as 1 part, and 2 250 g hdds in raid 0). I tried booting from my bart pe created windows live cds but they dont detect any partitions what so ever, windows 7 dvd's repair utility can access my file structure when i browse for drivers, but it wont repair the problem, nor will it install.

i posted my problem on 7/23/09 and several people looked and no one replied. did i not include enough info? is it a major problem that no one wants to touch? havent been able to use the computer for months trying to fix myself and now ive hit the wall and need help. here is my original post:

i was using bit defender on my hp pavilion 9033cl laptop running xp media center edition and saw that there were some critical updates. i didnt even pay attention to what it was updating, just trusted the program. i fell asleep and when i woke up the screen saver was frozen. when i restarted my laptop it went to the blue screen. i tried system restore and asked some friends for help but nothing worked. took all the info off both hard drives with an external enclosure and formatted them. bought the system recovery disks from hp but still end up with the blue screen. the disks i made when i first received the laptop dont work. after the recovery disks finish it loads windows with few icons and restarts. then windows starts again with more icons on the desktop and restarts again this time going to the blue screen with the
0x0000007E (0xC0000005,0x804DA205,0xF9E87650,0xF9E8734C) error message. when i try to boot in safe mode i get 0x0000007B (0xF9E53524,
0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000). im a novice computer user so i hope i have enough info here. thank you for any help!

A:no reply to post

you want to do a full reinstall, not a recovery.

Have you got your XP disc?

If so, pop it in your drive, reboot, then when prompted select boot from cd. Delete the partitions and create a new one (I'm presuming you backed up your stuff on to another media). Then reinstall windows. When it reboots select to start from hard drive, then follow on screen instructions.

If you don't have your XP disc it'll still work if you borrow one as long as you have your own XP prod. key (normally it's on a sticker on the side of your pc)

If this doesn't help please post back

We installed Norton2006 the other day on my wife's computer, and since that moment it has been acting very sluggish.

When I uninstalled Norton2003, I started getting messages at booting about 360Share Pro. I haven't been able to delete it from the computer, but I was able to delete a few Sharepro files to disable the program.

At booting, we also get the message that CCREGMON.DLL was not found; I think this is a registry key, but I don't know how to fix it.

Below follows the HIJACK THIS log.

Also, I have uninstalled Norton2006. The computer is acting more efficiently now, but it doesn't have a virus protector at the moment. I am hoping to fix the registry problems, get rid of anything else malicious, and then reinstall Norton.

Can someone plleeeaassee help me : I downloaded kerio firewall and it keeps giving me a message about every two minutes about blocking a file that is trying to intrude my computer. The file is called system32.exe . My norton security also identified an infected file called scrss32.dll ( i am not sure if that is the exact name, I just deleted it, but it somehow keeps comming back). The system32.exe one , I tried manually deleting but it wont let me. It gives me a message saying 'Access denied. Make sure the disk is not full or unwritable'. This computer is getting slower by the minute. I have ran adaware, spy bot search and destroy, avg virus scan, and downloaded kerio personal firewall. I would like to comment and inquire about a reply to a question posted here, but I can't find any space "reply" option. Is it usually proper to put an obvious "button" in a forum like this that is labeled clearly "reply?"

The forum is somewhat inoperable if I can't ask someone clarify their response. A lot of time and effort goes into helping people, but serve no purpose if the forum doesn't allow users to apply to a question, or ask for clarification on an answer. This seems
to be the only way to get help, I'm sorry to clog the forum with a fairly useless Post but I am really in need of an answer to a question that was asked and the answer could use a little more clarification, but I see no way to step in and say "hey could
you explain this?"

Although help would be appreciated

thank you. I know people here work hard to provide help and support using their own time. I appreciate it but doesn't anybody ever step back and look at the forum and ask "is this a very efficient way to have a conversation?"
thanks for your time, John

Hello ! I have been a registered member of a web site for the last 14 years and until a few days ago I never have had a problem on the site. When I click on reply in order to respond to a post a box opens as usual to allow me to type in my reply. The options that are usually there such as font size, Bold, image, align left, align right, etc; are all missing. When I type in my reply and click submit, a rectangular box pops up with a message that says:  Ajax response unable to be parsed as valid Json Object  When I close the box and hit submit again another box pops up that says: You have already submitted this form My response to the thread does not show up. I also notice that when I hover my mouse over a thread before opening it, it does not show me the first few lines of what the thread is about before opening it like it used to. I tried sending a message to the site owner using the private message option under his profile. When I hit submit I do not get the pop up boxes however there is no record under my profile that the message was sent. I have tried logging in and out a few times and it does no good. I just tried logging in to the site on my wifes laptop and it works fine.I am able to post and all funtions are there. I am guessing there is something wrong on my end. I have a Dell PC, Home XP, IE-8, SP-3. Any Ideas ? Thanks for your time. Dennis

If I'm directed to repost, should I re-run the intial programs and post with the updated files or post the initial files that were run last week?

Multiple posting of the same HJT log doesn't get you help any faster. It only confuses matters. HJT logs are generally analyzed on a first-come first-served basis. HJT Techs see a different listing of logs than the general membership sees in the HJT Forum. There you are seeing new logs as well as all the other logs being worked on at the same time. The HJT Team work through many logs in a days time. You'll just have to be patient and wait your turn. This may take several days or longer. If after five days you've not had a response, you may post that info in this thread. Please don't post non-HJT items such as this within the HJT forum.

I am unable to post a new message or reply to a posting on all Flight1 forums (LevelD, Mustang, Ultimate Traffic, SimForums in any section of said forums although I am signed in and am permitted to post in the appropriate forums as a valid member and purchaser of Flight1 products (LevelD, Mustang,GEX, Ultimate Terrain, Ultimate Traffic).

I have no problems and have tested other forums such as Avsim, Orbx, Simviation or any other forums except the above.
I have previously been able to post and reply to messages on Flight1 forums.
Naturally as can be seen I can post a message on this forum.
All I get when I attempt to reply, create a new message or attempt to send a PM (as I attempted to do today is this):

Hello All, For the past two days, I have been unable to either post or reply to messages on the Yahoo Finance boards! It occurred last weekend as well, but then mysteriously disappeared last Sunday evening. I have been posting since last August without problems.I have run my Windows Defender, Malwarebyte and Ad-Aware programs to search out trojans, malware, spyware and other types of viruses. All have come up negative...nothing found.I have tried to access the Yahoo Message Boards from I.E. instead of Firefox, but the problem remains, with one exception...When I assess Yahoo from I.E. I get an error message: "ERROR. Your post has been deleted".Why would my post be immediately deleted? It's not offensive and contains no foul language or insulting remarks. You folks are my last hope. There is no assistance at all on Yahoo for problems with their website. Can anyone help me, pul-ease!?Many thanks for taking the time to respond!Alain

A:Cannot Post/Reply To Yahoo Boards!

Not sure if this will help but do you use Firefox and the No Scripts add on?. If so check that you have not blocked the yahooapis cookie. I had a similar problem at an online forum I am a member of where I suddenly couldn't post in threads and it turned out that I had inadvertently blocked this cookie, as soon as I okayed it everything was ok again.

Hi everyone. On various forums I visit, I use the Quick Reply feature. Well, I seem to have found a bug that is not specific to any one forum as it occurs on multiple forums that I visit. It is a bug with the Quick Reply feature. When using Quick Reply, I get an error saying that what I just posted is a duplicate of another post. Thing is, I didn't click the submit button twice or anything like that. I click one time and let it do its thing. I am not sure what is going on.

Anyway, I am using Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.14.

I'm posting this in a few different forums because I need help and I guess no one knows the answer in the web and email forum:-(. Hopefully someone who does will come past this thread!!!

This is lengthy, but I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read it!!!!!

OK:

I'm not sure if this is even possible.... I'm a college student, the class I am writing about today had a deadline date, in which to withdraw from the course without getting a "F" grade, but instead a "W".

The deadline was on 10/28/14.

Now I was aware of this, and went to withdraw on 10/27/14. I was browsing my student portal a few days later to see that it never withdrew me from the class. I know I withdrew in time (27th), but maybe some computer glitch, or something happened that caused it to not finalize the withdrawal or something.

I am so desperate (I got my first "F") that I've been searching Google history for the 27th. It pulls up many history that day of my being on my college account, and even has the words on 2 of the 7 history entries: add drop class. Unfortunately, that isn't enough, as my school could just say I was probably browsing classes to ADD, not withdrawing the class in this topic.

QUESTION: IF I USE inspect element, what is that? It almost looked like a blueprint of all the clicks I made that day, etc, but hard to read.
--Can I show "what I was CLICKING" on the 27th with inspect element?
--Can I show more detail as... Read more

Hi,

Your problem is not a very common one and probably the main reason no one posted to help you.
Well, someone with enough skills could easily locate the temporary Internet files on your hard drive....if they are still there, they may shed some clues enough for you to change the mind of an administrator at your school....but we cannot help with things like this. You can easily browse through the files yourself, but it consists of a saved thumbnail image, of every badge, button, link, etc that was on each webpage that you used on that day.... and, the critical items you need may be well mixed.... in with all kinds of other items in a semi-orgnaized mess.....could be thousands of items to paw through but if you are willing, we need to know the version of windows you are using.... to do that would you please download and run this SysInfo Tool:

http://static.techguy.org/download/SysInfo.exe

Save it to your desktop, or other convenient folder, double click to run, copy and paste the total information it shows you into a Reply please. (You might find your thread moved, in that case, you will see the "Moved...." notation where the thread was, in Malware forum as a link, which you can click on to go to the new location of your thread in case a Moderator decides to Move the thread. )

I plan to only show you how to enable hidden files, which will allow you to browse through the Temporary Internet Files, if you can sort the files by DATE that would make it somewhat eas... Read more

First off, in terms of my background, I'm not all that computer saavy, and haven't spent any time crawling around on hardware/software forums at all. I found myself on this forum while googling some things trying to sort out a problem I'm having, and thought I'd join up and see if I could get some help.

Background to the problem: A friend came to me and told me that he had a virus, another friend of his had come over and attempted to remove it and failed. He then executed a recovery through the windows recovery utility, which apparently also failed to remove the virus. I asked what symptoms the computer was showing and he said he was all of a sudden getting hit with waves of pop ups, and would seemingly randomly be logged off or the computer would restart (shut down?). Since it seemed the virus or whatever was going to be difficult to get rid of, and there was really not much of anything on the computer I told him I'd just format the hard drive and reinstall windows.
I guess his computer didn't come with a windows disc - instead it had him make some sort of recovery discs (six of them, and distinct from the system restore utility - he said he did not use these discs). I've never heard of that before, but I thought I'd go with it. After inserting the first disc and rebooting the harddrive was supposedly reformatted and windows installed. Sweetness.

The problem: He woke up today and it had powered itself off. And wouldn't turn... Read more

I have an old computer that won't post. I put in a new graphics card a zogis 6800gt or something and new ram. The computer seemed to do fine, albeit a few random restarts, but then ran fine for a couple of days. Then while installing a game it shut off and wouldn't post when restarted. It posted once or twice but wouldn't let me into the cmos, via the delete key. It seemed like it just kept restarting and restarting never getting anywhere, and now it seems to do it without posting. Although today it seems as it starts on and everything revs up to boot up but then the noise dies down and it just idles. Hard drives and cd-rom drives are spinning. Put old graphics card back in, swapped out ram, tried different ram in different dimm, took everything like hdds and pci cards out and back in. I put in a new power supply a 350watt antec basiq, it had an old 300watt antec in it before. Tried taking out the battery and clearing the cmos via the jumpers, but nothing changed there is no post. I even tried a different monitor thinking it was broken, no display, no post. I have double checked all the connections too many times and dusted off the interior several times. I don't know now whether it is the motherboard or the cpu. I tried to get the cpu out but it is hard, the motherboard doesn't seem to be shorting on anything and gives a ff code steady, it was c1 and others when it was restarting but now that it just sits and idles it gives an ff.

Alright, we, as a family are getting a new computer before 07 ends, and for once, I'd like to have a decent computer for gaming.

Anyway, with games made these, days how many are actually for/put onto mac? Any of the popular ones? Would I be able to find mac games in walmart, or these days, do games just work for both OS's? I'm highly unexperienced with new macs, the closest thing I know about is those old, huge macs from the 90's.

I also heard that when used for gaming, a mac's specs are more powerful than a PC's?

Like, for example. 800mhz Mac = 1.5ghz PC? Equal or greater to?

Any help with this decision is greatly appreciated, thanks.

A:Getting a new comp - PC or Mac for gaming?

Most games are designed for PC's. Some of the more heavily developed engines are cross-platform, but the majority are designed for PC's, as well as newer gaming hardware, like new video cards. If you are seriously interested in gaming, I would go with a PC, but if you really want a mac, you can, a lot of new games are available for it, as shown here. And places like Wal-Mart would probably have them for sale, probably in a separate Mac section, or any store that sells Mac's.
