I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi, After having so many problems with Win 8.1  I decided to downgrade my OS into to Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit).   unfortunately HP driver support does not have any Windows 7 drivers for this particular model (Pavilion TouchSmart 15-b129wm) .So Can someone please help me in finding any or all the device drivers?  The ones I desparately need are: (((SM Bus Controller - Ethernet Controller - Network Controller - Universal Serial Bus"USB" Controller ))) Thank you very much for your help!

Korbinian --- Hi there, i´ve just purchased myself a new Notebook, the HP 15-ba010ng. It came only with FreeDos as OS. I´ve installed Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and i am not able to find the driver for the new OS, seems there are only Win10 Driver available. At this point i´m a little confused, ´cause i can´t take advantage of the Support because i am not able to get the Notebbok online. Is there another way to get the drivers for my OS? Thx a lot, Korbinian

Yes. You can download the drivers from the AMD website.http://support.amd.com/en-us/download Use the manually select you drivers option. Use the drop downs and ensure that you select just as shown in the following image. The graphics driver software contains the chipset drivers that you need to install.

we are deploying win7 and our win 2k3 server is 32bit and has about 40 shared printers and the drivers are in 32bit.
all printers are different model's

is there a way to have these printers work on win7 64bit?

A:printer drivers for win7 64bit

There is no way to really answer this without knowing what the printers are.

The best I could suggest is that you go to the manufacturer's website and see what support they have for the printers under Windows 7 64-bit.

I would also suggest you do this for anything else you may deem critical to your workplace.

Good luck.

A:I need drivers to install Win7 64bit on SSD mSATA

This serial number doesn't help much. It will be better if you can post exact notebook model name and model number.

Anyway, visit Toshiba support and download page for your country and if your notebook model is supported for Win7 64bit you should be able to find all necessary drivers, tools and utilities.

I have never installed a new os from start. Do i need to download drivers for my mobo ready for a fresh windows7 install?

Or does it find them automatically on the windows disc? Or online later? I have drivers on disc for all other hardware, but not mobo.

Just confused before I start.

A:Installing drivers on new win7 64bit ultimate os

Some drivers are available later form Windows Update, and some are built in. The best practice is to have them downloaded ahead of time, especially your network ones, just in case. I usually throw them on a flash drive and keep them handy for when my OS install is done.

I have been scouring the interwebs since successfully installing Windows 7 64bit RTM last night when my XP box got the "ntfs.sys corrupt or missing" and I could not for the life of me restore it. Screw XP, it was time to install Windows 7 anyhow right. Every piece of hardware was detected and installed except for my wireless card.

I have a AirNet AWD154, Linkskey LKW-G553, and Airlink 101 AWLH3026T.
Luckily I had 3 total so I was sure one was bound to work, but no, not even after downloading the newest drivers from the manufacturers website. Since at least 2 of the 3 use Marvell Libertas chipsets I figured getting that latest ( generic driver would work.

In all cases I either get a "no compatible driver found at this location" or "installed but cannot start".

Any direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all

Hi guys, looking for a little assistance.

I have just installed Windows 7 64bit version.

My computer is a Sony Vaio VGN-NS11J from the EU.

Intel Core 2 Duo - T5800 2GHz
4GB Ram
Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Graphics Card

I have 2 drivers which I cant find drivers for - 1 of which I believe is a Texas Instruments SD Card Controller.

The details I can glean from Device Manager are as follows:

Base System Device
Location: PCI Bus 5, device 3, function 2
Physical Device Object Name: \Device\NTPNP_PCI0023

Unknown Device
Location: on Intel ICH9M LPC Interface controller - 2919
Physical Device Object Name: \Device\0000005b
The other issues I am having is with getting the FN and Mute button's to work, as well as the Power Control for selecting battery options (ie charged less/more to protect the battery) unless how to do this has simply moved in Win7.

I have looked at the EU Sony Driver Support page for my model but it doesnt contain any drivers to solve these problems.

Thanks in advance and I am happy to supply any additional information/screenshots that would be helpful.

Good day all .

Some info : motherboard is Microstar p45 platinum gamer series.

it comes with 2 sets of cd's #1 for win xp intel chipset drivers&utilities disk.
#2 chipset disk for vista.

question #1 does windows 7 64bit (pro) contain the sata drivers and all the utilities for install ? or do i need to utilize the preinstall of the f6 and make a install floppy? msi has a section for downloads .

I have searched for the uptodate drivers listed in the arcive section where my board is now listed.

I have downloaded all the drivers and a floppy f6 creater to install these files

I am a bit confused as to how i am going to install win 7 on this system .

I may go with a xp/7 duel boot .

I want to add raid 5 after 7 install and i know xp could not see anything beyond raid 0 or 1.
looking for some advice before i start the process.

I hope the thread title is better this time.
if the install sequence works the way i want it to go ; perhaps i can create a tuit.
thanks for everyone's help .

I recently acquired a Pavilion Slimline (s5503w) desktop PC. For whatever reason the hard drive was blanked out when I received it and upon installing Windows 7 64-bit (Ultimate Ed) I've had quite some time locating the proper drivers. Attempting to use the recommended drivers from HP's website resulted in a 9996 error, you don't meet the requirements. Proper recommended installer for that version of windows, but no luck. I've also tried installing the Ethernet and Audio drivers recommended by Nividia's website. A 15.49 package, but though it recognizes the video card it doesn't notice the onboard Ethernet or Audio. Neither of these devices is listed in device manager as far as I can tell either. No typical yellow exclamation mark stating that the driver is missing.

Any help or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Hey all, I recently installed an SSD in my old y580 laptop and reinstalled windows 10 but windows is registering the touchpad as a mouse plugged into the PS/2 port. As such, the touchpad inputs are far from optimized and no multi-finger gestures are being recognized (including scrolling  ). The previous HDD recently died but definitely used elan/synaptics drivers. I've had this problem occur on other Lenovo laptops and I've seen others posting about it on here, but never for the y580 and I've never been able to solve it. I've downloaded all of the touchpad drivers on the support page for my serial number but none of them go up to windows 10 and all of them result in an error message that reads that the Realtek Bluetooth Suite isn't compatible with this version of windows. I've also downloaded 15-20 different drivers for windows 10 elan/synaptics touchpads from varying newer lenovo laptops but none of them recognize my touchpad either. Any help would be super appreciated.

Hi everyone! That's a long story to tell.I got my laptop from service center, they did dust cleaning and installed an SSD instead of HDD, installed clean win7 x64 on SSD, changed fan.Found out that my nvidia card is not working. After that i launch in safe-mode, delete the drivers (or switch nvidia off) and then it is possible to load system properly (but without a video card ofc, i see second video deivce in device manager which is shown as "standard vga video adapter". Guys in service center told that my videocard is overheated and that's the reason it is not longer functioning, but i dont really trust them after finding out that the system they installed is non-official (also found many similar situations on web which were solved, so i still hope my card is not dead yet, but just sleeping).I already had some issues with video on that notebook: system showed me BSODs and went to avto-repairing state after video drivers update on win 10. Hi every one,

i have this machine which is causing too much headache for me,

this machine was having Windows XP 64 Bit,
and it had a lot of BSOD crashes, then i just decided that it's the time to make the move to Windows 7 for this high performance machine, since i was not able to upgrade to Windows 7 because of some applications just working on Windows XP 64 Bit, but now there is a copy of it,

Any way i'm still having those BSOD crashes,
I have replaced the SSD 500GB hard drive with another regular hard drive with no results,
tried to remove and install nVidia Driver,
tried to install a different version of that driver with no results,
tried to remove McAfee AV and installed Kaspersky Internet security 2013 also no result,

now i have grabbed all the data using SF Tool, and i really hope that u can help me with that issue.

thank you

Hi all,

I want to update the drivers for my GTX260 graphics card.
I downloaded the appropriate driver for my OS, Vista Home premium 64 bit (OEM):
Driver: 182.06_geforce_winvista_64bit_english_whgl.
But when I try to run the driver application I get the following error:

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running.Check your computer's system information to see wether you need an x86(32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact your software publisher".

I have the same problem with 64bit NVidia networkcontrollers.

Is this a known problem or am I doing something wrong?

System: Intel Core2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz, 8GB RAM, Geforce GTX260, Asus P5N-D (nForce 750ichipset)
Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit SP1 (OEM)

A:Unable to install 64bit NVidia drivers on Vista 64bit

I was just wondering if this could be just an installer problem.
The filesize of 182.06_geforce_winvista_64bit_english_whql is just 22kb.
I noticed on another site (64bit and x64) they have a download of the same driver that is a 100 MB.

Is anyone familiar with start64.com? Can I safely download the NVidia drivers
from there?

And do I really need to install 64bit versions of the driver or can I just as well install the 32 bit version of the same driver (even though my OS is 64 bit) ???

Any help would be much appreciated!

As you are moving the data in the reverse order to most people I am doubtful whether you will find specific software so I would connect the two computers by Team Viewer and use the file transfer facility.

A:Win7 32bit Home Premium to Win7 64bit Ultimate: Possible without Clean

I think you have to Wipe and reinstall. You can't go from 32bit to 64bit over the top of the 32bit.

I purchased the Win 7 Pro Upgrade 32bit via digitalriver, but I've been doing some reseach and probably should have selected the 64bit version.

- Any ideas how I can get the 64bit version?

- For those who ordered the 32bit back-up disc kit for the extra $15 and have received it, does it come with both 32bit & 64bit?

- I've already installed and activated the 32bit version, but when I go to install the 64bit version, will I need to / is there a way to deactivate my initial 32bit install or will this not matter?

Thanks for your advice.

A:Reinstall Win7 32bit to Win7 64bit /backup disc content

Camo15, Welcome to SevenForums
The first two questions call Digital River about a refund and reorder. Have heard that some have had success with that. No need to un activate however if you decide to try to use that Key again then you will have to call MS and talk to them to make it work on another pc if that is your intent. Good luck to you and enjoy!

Hi folks.

I have searched through the various threads that deal with this topic but have not seen anything that deals with this specifically.

I have a custom built computer I put together last year. I installed Win7 32bit at the time because I didn't want to bite the bullet and reinstall everything. That time has now arrived.

My computer has:

i7 Core 960 2.67GHz
8GB Ram
1TB HDD (Win7 32bit installed)

I purchased an OEM DVD of Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and an Intel 180GB SSD drive.

I want to install the SSD drive on the computer and install Win7 64bit OS as a DUAL BOOT. This way I will be able to choose to migrate my applications at my own pace. As I install a 64bit version of my Photoshop CS6 for example, I will delete it in the 32bit OS once I have all my settings, brushes etc. moved over.

Should I ?

1. Install the SSD and get it recognized by the BIOS and the 32bit OS.
2. Boot from the DVD of the 64bit OS and choose the SSD as the location of the installation.
3. Reboot the computer after installation complete

and at that point I should get the dual boot screen?

The above is how I understand the process based on some tutorials I've seen for dual booting XP and Vista. Does this work for Win7 32 and Win7 64?

A:Dual Boot Win7 32bit and Win7 64bit on a second SSD drive

Easy - install the SSD and disconnect all the HDDs. Then install Win7 on the SSD and make the SSD second in the boot sequence (first should be the CD/DVD reader). Then reconnect the HDDs.

When you want to boot from your 32bit system, temporarily change the boot sequence (usually via F12 at power-on).

I have purchased and downloaded both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows7 Professional (no CDs or media here only download version)

I sucessfully upgraded from Vista 32 to Win7 32

Then I upgraded my hard disk (140Gb 500GB) and RAM (3GB to to 4GB)

Now I would like to go from Win7 32bit to 64bit

When I try and run the Win7-P-retail-en-us.x64.exe file it upacks the box then stops with this error:"We are unable to create or save files in the folder in which this application was downloaded. Please check the folder properties to make sure that you have security permission on the folder to write flies and that that folder is not read only"
I am the System Admin and I have full rights, and have moved the exe and the setup box files to My Documentsand I have modified the directory properties/attributes but I still get the same error over and over.

I searched the posts and some people stated one needs a clean install others say you can upgrade from any version so I am trying the upgrade here especially since the upgrade from Vista 32 to Win7 32 was smooth and did require all the extra work of a reinstall.

Can someone help me here?

A:Win7 (32bit) to Win7 (64bit) upgrade install error

I believe to go from 32-bit to 64-bit, you will have to boot off the DVD. The installer is a 64 bit application that won't run under 32-bit. Find instructions to create a DVD if you don't already have it.

Good luck!

Hi all,

Hope all is well. I just purchased a Toshiba Satellite P855-S520 laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit), SP1 already installed and would like to upgrade it Windows 7 Ultimate.

I had already purchased a retail version for Win7 Ultimate before (the full version not the upgrade) and would like to use this for the upgrade.

I looked around the forums for some advice and found some very useful stuff but I would appreciate if someone could help with the following. My apologies if the answers were posted already. Must have missed them.

1. I read about the Windows Anytime Upgrade feature. Will AU work with the full Win7 Ultimate retail key or does it specifically work with an upgrade key?

2. If I use the AU and it is successful, will the new Win7 Ultimate key be converted to an OEM version as well? The full-version retail key I have gives me the right to install this to 3 computers. I do not want to lose this right since I may use it for different computers in the future.

3. Is it better to go for AU or a clean install of Win7?

Since I just purchased the laptop, I have no personal data or programs installed so I do not have to worry about losing data. However Toshiba has certain software installed with the laptop. My understanding of a clean install is that everything will be wiped clean and then necessary software e.g. drivers, etc... need to be installed again. On the other hand, once I upgrade to Ultimate perhaps some of this software will becom... Read more

Just wondering if it would be possible to backup a Win7 32bit system, install a Win7 64bit system then restore the 32bit to the 64bit system?

A:Macrium Reflect: Restore Win7 32bit to Win7 64bit?

NO -- a clean install is required to move from one to the other. IF you restore an MR backup over an install, it replaces the entire contents of the partition. So basically, you would be going back to the version that you saved to backup.

I have a new Toshiba Laptop (Win7 64bit CORE i3). I would like to run (via usb) and old hdd from my desktop which was 32bit Win7.
I have the old hard drive in a SATA enclosure and running it via USB to my laptop. When I attempt to either copy or read the old hard drive I get a write protect error. I have tried
the MS registry changes to remove "write protection" but the registry entry they call for is non existent in my laptop registry.
My last post on this was annotated as solved...but my explanation was weak. I do not want to run this drive as a permanent addition to my system, I just need to copy some files from the old drive to the new one.
If I attempt to use Control Panel/Disk Management it tells me the old drive is not "initialized". Both options to initialize don't work. Please help I have some very important medical records that must be copied from old hdd to new.

I have a legally purchased win7 Premium (32bit) CD. I purchased a new desktop that is pre-loaded with win 10 (64bit). I prefer to stay with win7.
Question 1: If I do a clean install of my win 7, will it work properly? At least until win7 support shuts down in 2020.
Question 2: Since the new computer has 64 bit architecture, is it possible to upgrade my win7 (32bit) to (64bit) using anytime upgrade?
A little info: I understand there may be a little loss in performance, but, for my purposes, that would be irrelevant. I just don't like win10.
I'm a senior on fixed income. Had to save for a full year to buy the new desktop and simply cannot afford to purchase a 64bit win7 (if it is even still available)! ...and Don't really want to go the 'pirate' route.
Any simple (layman) advice would be gratefully appreciated.
Oh, one more thing. I have made a backup of the win10...in case I have to go back to it in the future.

I have read many of the similar posts...but they were either confusing or not quite answering my specifics.

I am working on a Dell Studio 1745 running Win7 64 Home Premium. I need to run a piece of hardware (Tascam US122) that is incompatiable with the 64bit OS. My plan is to partition the drive and install Win 7 32bit on the new partition so I can run the mentioned hardware. I've done this on another machine (Dual Boot XP and Win 7) and ran into a problems with the bootloader. I learned to install older OS FIRST because of that. I'm wondering if installing Win7 32bit on a current Win7 64bit machine will cause a similar problem with bootloaders? I'd rather not have to mess with the bootloaders, but I really need to run this hardware. And, since this is a Dell, with touchscreen, and most IMPORTANTLY, a friend's computer I want to be 100% sure I'm not going to cause issues I can't fix.

So, again, will installing Win7 32bit on a new partition of a Win7 64bit machine cause problems with the bootloader, or any other foreseeable problems?

Thanks a bunch!

I have upgraded my NB550D to Windows7 Home Premium and installed 4Gb RAM.
It's working much better but want to go further and do a _clean install_ of Windows7 Ultimate _64bit_ in order to take full advantage of theupgrade in RAM.

My question is: What do I do about the Toshiba drivers for 64bit? I presume i will need some?

What is the best way to go about the upgrade - any help will be appreciated! :D

A:NB550D - Best way to install Win 7 64bit and 64bit drivers

If you would switch to Win 7 64bit then you will need some Win 7 64bit drivers.
On the Toshiba European driver page I could find some 64bit drivers but it looks like not all Toshiba tools for Win 7 64bit are released.

Drivers for WLan or BT stack can be found here:

All other drivers or Toshiba tools like value added package or Face Recognition, Eco Utility and others could be used from other notebook series? for example Satellite C660D or other series like L750D, L755D or C670D
Surely you have to pay attention to the built in graphic chip, LAN or chipset?
Use the drivers which are released for the chips in NB550D

I am trying to upgrade from Win7 32bit to Win7 64bit. A tech? instalked a new HDD for me and put Win7 64bit on it. I have another drive that has Win7 32bit on it that I would like to put Win7 64bit on. I have the new 64bit cd and can read directions, I just have no directions to tell me how to do it. The HDD I want to install on has been formatted Win7 32bit, however there is nothing on it of value now so I am ready to do this thing. I have read the directions on how to do a clean install but have no way to know if this would be classed as a clean install. I may not be the brightest bulb on the tree but I am very careful. It's been a few years since I've had the hood up on a computer but I do know my way around inside, even know what some of those things are in there. If there is some one out there that can set me on the right road to do this thing I will certainly appreciate it. Thanks DonS

A:upgrade from win7 32bit to Win7 64bit

Hello Don, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Is this going to be installed in another computer, or are you having both hard drives in your current computer to dual boot?

Do you have separate product key number for the second installation?

If it's going to be installed on a separate computer and you have a second key to activate with, then yeah you could do a clean install with it like in the tutorial below.
