Windows 8.1 Does not authenticate over 802.1X when Visual Studio Emulator is Creating an Android device

Q: Windows 8.1 Does not authenticate over 802.1X when Visual Studio Emulator is Creating an Android device

Hi,
we use 802.1x Computer Authentication in our environment.
Windows 7 , Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 Clients do an authentication over 802.1x and get Access to the corpnet.
But when i configure 1 Hyper-V Switch on my Windows 8.1 Client to create android emulator, my machine donīt do an authentication over 802.1x.
Is 802.1X is supported on Windows 8.1 with Hyper-V? If itīs true how can i configured my Windows 8 hyper-v Client to get Access over 802.1x?
Thanks in advance!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a project where I am reading results from an external program. Based on the result I receive I want to change the picture in a picture box. This is all usually an easy task except there is 256 results, this is what I have so far.

Public Sub UpdatePbox()
Dim count As Double
Dim arr As Array
Dim pbox As String = "pb"

While count > 257
count = count + 1

objIpeEngCtrl.VarGetDouble("pb" & count & "", arr(count))
' This is where I read the information from the external program, since it is a string command I can create variables based on variables. So if count = 1, then I read pb1 into arr(1).

VerifyReturn()

pbox = "pbox" & count & ""
' This is where I am having a problem, I am not sure how to use a variable to set a picture box.

If arr(count) = 0 Then
pbox.Image = Gen_Probe_Liquid_Level.My.Resources.Good
ElseIf arr(count) = 1 Then
pbox.Image = Gen_Probe_Liquid_Level.My.Resources.Bad
ElseIf arr(count) = 2 Then
pbox.Image = Gen_Probe_Liquid_Level.My.Resources.None
End If

End While

End Sub

Any suggestions? I hope this isn't to vague.

There are a number of Android apps (Google Play-sourced only), mainly photo and video-related, which I like a lot, although I don't really like using a tablet. I've researched a bit into Android emulators which run on Windows 7 e.g. here

6 best Android emulators for PC | Android Authority

and while the idea sounds great, I wonder -- Android is said to have loads of security flaws. I work pretty hard to keep my Win 7 PC clean (I hope!). Is there a risk that by running Android apps, I'm running security risks?

A:Does running an Android emulator bring Android-type security risks?

First of all, it's simply not true that Android has "lots of security flaws". Of course it's not immune to viruses and attackers, but it's not inherently that its an immense risk in it. There are vulnerabilities, but most problems actually came from using untrusted software that abuses the devise. As always, the number one vulnerability in any system is the user.

Now to business. There is no exact answer to that question. It will greatly depend on what emulator do you use and how it's exactly implemented, how does it manages to run Android software and how much does it emulated and how exactly. Frequently, I would expect a different implementation of the Android low level API, meaning that bugs in Android will never afect an emulator (which in turn can have its own bugs), unless some behavior is there "by design", in which case the emulator should attempt to copy it.
Besides, I would expect the emulator to isolate the host computer from malicious Android software (which is not generally aware of Windows existence). Unless an Android virus specifically targets a particular flaw of a particular version of a particular emulator (which as already happened with virtual machines), I won't worry too much about it.

The comes the problem of what programs do you install on the emulated Android. When you install a virus there, it will attempt to do the same malicious actions than it would do on a real phone. Some actions will work the same, for example those i... Read more

Ok, previously to get something from a database to a variable in a web based app the code went something like this:
DataAdapter.Fill(Dataset1)

after the dataset had been filled in this way a variable could be set by

variablex=dataset.tables(0).rows(0).items(0)
Now, after converting the project and all associtated files I've got SQLDataSource to use.

So, after lots of fruitless searching I'm asking just how the above statement translates to work as a means of retrieving a field from an SQLDataSource?

Hello everyone,

I have a question about the visual studio .net 2002. Is there any downloadable patches or upgrades to support a file that is being written / coded from visual studio .net 2003 to visual studio .net 2002?

My friend and I discovered lately that when you create a project (e.g. vb .net win app) in vb.net 2003 then save it and you want to open it again but in vb.net 2002, the project you created using vb.net 2003 cannot be opened using vb.net 2002.

On the other side, when you try to create and save a project in vb.net 2002 and you try opening it in vb.net 2003, there is really no problem, cause vb.net 2003 will convert a project (a message will prompt you and will give you a choice if that project should be converted) that was save under vb.net 2002.

Anyway, is there any updates of visual studio .net supporting projects that was created on vb.net 2003 and opening those project(s) using vb.net 2002?

Any help is highly appreciated.

A:Migrating Visual Studio .NET 2002 to Visual Studio .NET 2003

i had this problem the other week (downloaded an article from codeproject or codeguru, but wouldnt load in 2002), im not sure of any patches that will fix the problem, but there is a work around if you dont mind altering certain project files.

The problem is with ProductVersion within the .csproj files, they are different between 2002 and 2003. If you alter them to the previous version they will then loadup. You may also need to alter the .sln file as well (again compare a 2002 ver that loads and the 2003 ver). Not giving any promises about it working, but it did work with the project i had.

I guess it would be quite easy to write a little utility that would go through a project and alter the said files. Dont know how many people would find use of it though.

I looked for all poasible solution on google and also find many videos for solving it where they say to assign an ip adress and server adress on host only network tab.. ...... But every time get the same error.....

That would be very difficult.
Lets first find out if your if your Audio jack is broken.
Go to Start/Search and type devmgmt.msc Right click the devmgmt results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Device Manager are there any yellow flags? If so, these devices need drivers installed.
What is the make and model# of your laptop? Go to the manufacturers support/download drivers and type in your make and model# or service tag # and download the Chipset and Audio driver for your computer.

Visual Studio 6 is way out of date. For light programming, you can get the free Visual Studio Express here: Downloads

For heavier duty, the Professional edition has a 90 day demo period, and recently Visual Studio 10 went into open beta: Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4 Beta 2

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

I realise this doesn't help you, but I have Visual Studio 2008 installed under Win 7 x64 without any difficulty.

Have you checked the links in your third screenshot, in particular the one for Microsoft?

Can I ask where you obtained your software?

The log you provide says the install failed at the outset because cabinet files couldn't be unpacked, which suggests the DVD is faulty.

Hi! I did a quick scan in my laptop today with Malwarebytes and it discovered an exe file which identified as trojan (install.exe). I checked what it was. It was located in the microsoft visual studio folder and even its properties had the name of the company (microsoft) in the details. I don't really know what visual studio does nor I've noticed any malfanction before or after the scaning. Nonetheless I let Malwarebytes to quarantine and delete it. What do you think? Do you believe it was really a trojan or just an incompatibility between microsoft and malwarebytes? And if it wasn't a trojan how do I restore it?

Hello!

I am trying to install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 from the following link.

I pick the x64 version, because that is what my computer is. However, after downloading, when I try to install it by running the program, the progress bar fills fine until the very end, where it freezes. This is shown in picture 1.

When I press cancel, a quick box opens up asking if I'm sure, and when I click yes, the screen looks like what is shown in picture 2.

the last time i messed with it was visual studio express 2008.
for windows 7 sp1 64-bit, i tried downloading and installing visual studio express 2015,
it installed mostly successful but gave me some gripe about .net framework and having an RTM version of it. I also came across various Windows SDK's, one of which says it installs visual studio C compiler.

I'm pretty much only interested in C/C++ in windows, what is the proper and best way to do it for free at home on windows 7 sp1 64-bit?

A:what sdk and .net framework and visual studio express for windows 7.1

If you want to go for Visual Studio, I would stick to 2015 as of now. The official download site is here:
https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/d...studio-vs.aspx

I would go for Community instead of Express, because it includes many features of the paid version (like add-ins and multi-language and multi-platform solutions) in a single package, still for free. It also includes many more options besides C++, if you ever want to experiment those. The install will include on its own the required SDK and the .NET framework 4.6 (while compiled C++ software doesn't depends on it, Visual Studio itself is heavily based on .net).

Visual Studio is in itself an enormous program, maybe overkill for many tasks. You could also try other compilers:

Hi.

First off, is Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition Windows 7 compatible?

Secondly, we are upgrading the machines from which our VB.Net programs are compiled onto Windows 7. However, the machines that these programs run under are Windows XP and there are no plans to upgrade these machines at the moment as they are all Virtual Machines and we have lots of them.

My question is simple, will programs compiled in VB 2008 on Windows 7 run on Windows XP? Or, will we need to make the long awaited change to VB 2010. I am aware that I will need to convert the VB 2008 program into 2010 format to get it to open, but that not a problem.

I think we have .Net Framework 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0 installed on the Windows XP Machines.

Thanks

A:Visual Studio 2008, Windows 7 Migration

VB2008 would work on Windows 7 (you may have to choose a x64, or x86 version depending on your os).
One of the main purposes of .net framework is to handle these compatibility issues. For instace, If your software is compiled for .net framework v2, any computer that runs .net 2.0, would be able to execute that program. So yeah, if you make something on 7 and compile it with say v3.5, make sure you have v3.5 on the XP machine to run it.

Hi Friends

We have issue in visual studio 2008 professional. The issue is some times automatically restarted visual studio (or) automatically closed, in windows 7 environment. We are using Dot Net Framework 4. Dot Net Framework 4 can support visual studio 2008 professional. I got some information from online search about this issue, the result is Dot Net Framework cannot support visual studio 2008, it can support up to Dot Net Framework 3.5. I need solution. For this issues. Visual Studio 2008 Professional can support Dot Net Framework 4.0 (or) Not Support.

It doesn't look like it, .Net Framework 4 with Visual Studio 2008 and use it in vs 2008
Looks like you need 2010. Bastards!

hey guys. i was recently trying to install Microsoft visual studio on my windows 8.1 laptop (dell latitude d620) and for the life of me, i couldn't get it to work. first, i tried to install visual studio c++ express 2010, and it crashed every time i tried to open it (after installing). then, i tried 2012, because i thought it was a prob with OS compatibility. this time, i couldn't even install it before i got an error message saying there was a problem and it closed. after trying to get it to work for some time, i tried the 2013 version. this time, i got farther than i did with 2012, but not as far as 2010 (i didn't install). i would really like for this to work because i just bought a course on Udemy for $10, and i don't want to waste the money. however, if i cant get it to work, i suppose i could put it on my windows 7 desktop. anyways, i need some help here, so if anyone has experienced this that can help me out, that would be great.

thanks in advance, theweasels1.

A:Can't get microsoft visual studio to work on windows 8.1

Sometimes, the installers have difficulties. When this occurs the run the installer as an administrator (Right click Run as Administrator) over comes most issues.

When running as administrator doesn't work, downloading the ISO image is next.
Try downloading the ISO image from Download Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2013 for Windows Desktop from Official Microsoft Download Center, and burning it to DVD, and installing.

Also, older versions may need uninstalled.

Hi there
I'm just messing around a bit with Visual Basic - I just want to use EXCEL (mainly) and a couple of really simple Windows stuff. I can't be bothered with C# or .NET -- I'm not (nor intend to be) a professional programmer -- but would like to have a go with some small applications and get to grips with the Basic in EXCEL.

I've got the old Ms Visual Basic 6 disks -- is it worth while messing about with these on W8 (Ms believe it or not is going to support the platform through W8 releases !!!) or should I just bite the bullet and download Visual Studio express which seems a bit overkill also for what I'm really trying to do.

As I'm running a 32 bit version of Office it would seem that most of the VB6 stuff could run quite simply in EXCEL 2010 (32 bit) even though my OS is x-64 --or I could even run it in an XP VM.

Any suggestions as to which is the better way to go -- I just want this for casual use -- not as a professional.

Cheers
jimbo

A:Visual Basic 6 or Visual Studio for EXCEL use

Doesn't Office 2010 still support VBA (Visual Basic for Applications)? I think that is what you mean by Basic in Excel?

As far as supporting VB6 in Win 8, VB6 apps do run in Windows (32 bit), though we've had issues at work with some 3rd party components. I'm pretty sure 64 bit is out for VB6! I couldn't get any VB6 executables to run on my Windows 7-64 box, though they will run just fine in an XP VM.

I think your options are VBA in Excel if you want to stick with classic VB...

Does anyone know any way to get a list of the dll's that are installed by each version of SDK, Visual Studio, and Visual C++?
It looks to me like the rasman.dll on my wife's computer is linking dynamically to some api-* dll's that are not on in her System32 folder, but which are all in mine. We have identical computers that we bought at the same time, in the same store. The api-*
dll's that are in her System32 folder are exactly the ones that are listed for Windows 8.1 in the article for KB2999226, but my System32 folder has dozens of other api-* dll's, including all the ones referenced by rasman.dll. Looking at Programs and Features,
I see that the versions of Visual C++ on her computer and mine, are not all the same, so maybe it's one of those that installed those dll's on my computer. Surely there is some way to find out what dll's are installed with each version of SDK, Visual
Studio, and Visual C++. If someone can tell me how to do that, then I can find out if one of those will install the dll's referenced by rasman.dll.
If I can't find any better way to install those dll's on my wife's computer, then I might just try copying them from mine to hers.

Microsoft Visual J# .NET is not a tool for developing applications intended to run on a Java Virtual Machine. Applications and services built with Visual J# .NET will run only in the .NET Framework and will not run on any Java Virtual Machine. Visual J# .NET has been independently developed by Microsoft. Hello again.

Quite a long time ago, on my old Windows Vista, I used Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 to create applications just for fun. I really liked it and would like to use it again, however I would like to use Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. The reason I would rather use VS2010 is because earlier today (11/01/2015) I installed VS2012 and I didn't like the look and feel to it at all, and VS2013 has a similar look to it and I don't like the layout, and I prefer the layout of 2008/10.

I have 2 main questions about this version of VS (2010 not 2008 because that's practically life expired).
The first question I would like to ask: Is VS2010 compatible with Win8? Preferably VS2010 Express as that's the only version of VS2010 that's available and I saw on Microsoft Compatibility Center which said that it is compatible, but 2 of 3 people said it was, but with Visual Basic (which I don't generally want as I would like more features than just VB) had 9 of 10 people saying it's compatible.

My second question is: Does Visual Studio 2010 Express have enough features for what I would like to do? Here's a brief idea of what I would like to do in VS2010. I would like to create a program which deals with things which involve using databases (such as POS systems) and I would like to setup a program which includes Windows Forms to complete tasks. I saw a video of what I would like to do which I'll post below and that should give a general idea. I'll only post the Part 1 of that series as ther... Read more

Hi everyone
If you want to try out Visual Studio express (2013) then note you HAVE to install it in Windows 8.1

If you try in Windows 8 you'll get this nice informative message. !!

Actually it was my fault - it says on the site that you need Windows 8.1 -- my error - however the Full version preview will work on windows 8. The full version though is a bit too complicated for just casual learning IMO.

My laptop is a 1 year old Toshiba Satellite. I've had this problem long enough to forget when it started. I haven't been able to complete a full Windows update because of this problem. I searched for KB2251489 and it said that someone had called and was told this problem was going to be fixed, but the last post in that thread had been in June. Has there been a fix to this yet?

Visual Studio 2017 15.4 introduced the new Windows Application Packaging project to help you modernizing your application by using the new Windows 10 App Deployment Stack.

We talked about it in our previous post: Visual Studio 2017 Update 4 makes it easy to modernize your app and make it store ready and today we want to describe the new capabilities in Visual Studio 2017 15.5 that enable new scenarios to the Windows application packaging project to take advantage of more Windows 10 features in your applications.

During this article we will cover three examples to highlight the new capabilities added to the packaging project to enable packaging for not only Win32 applications, but also UWP applications and components:
Background execution using UWP background tasks.
Windows Shell integration using the Share Target contract.
Include Win32 code investments in your UWP app package.

The first two samples are existing WPF applications packaged as APPX with extended functionality implemented as UWP components. The first application adds background execution based on UWP background tasks, while the second app shows how to deeply integrate the application with the Windows 10 shell using a widely available feature as Share contracts. Finally, the last app is a UWP entry point that calls to a classic Win32 process that interop with Excel.

Note: Because the UWP components require to be compiled for a specific platform: x86 or x64, the Any CPU solution configuration will not work in... Read more
