I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi, I'm quite new around here, gonna try to help the first one out haha.. Have you tried updating the BIOS and latest videocard drivers? Also install the latest version of adobe flash might help? Other thing that you may try is to disassemble the laptop and take off the cooling unit (heatsink)and remove the thermal grease from it and replace it with new one (my experience is that White thermal grease works the best) Be careful not to use too much of it.. a simple shot may do. Be sure to flatten is with some kind of plastic piece or something.. Hoping to help you out!

A:boot order in Hp ProBook 6570b

Hi

Are you using any of the preboot security tools? Like encryption, face recognition, fingerprint, etc. I think it is called HP ProtectTools.

You may need to disable those.

In addition, you may need to disable secureboot if that is turned on (I would expect it on that computer).

I recently picked up a Probook 6570b.  So far I have upgraded it with a 240gb SSD and have installed a 1TB HDD in the optical bay. The system board has non-upgradeable Intel HD 4000 graphics but I upgraded to 8GB RAM to help with this. The last possible upgrade would be the CPU.I have seen plenty of threads on this laptop that have a cut-and-paste list of processor options from the HP website so I know what the manufacturer recommends. The problem is, I want to know what others have tried and what their results were. I have seen similar HP laptops that went from 35w to 45w processors and even i5 dual core to i7 quad core processors but I've never seen anyone post results of attempts to upgrade the 6570b in a similar way. The reason I am looking to upgrade above the recommended CPU performance is because the best processor recommended for this machine is the i7-3540M which is only dual core. This machine is ivy bridge with QM77 chipset and socket G2, all of which will support quad core. I was looking at the low power i7 QM chips to keep the CPU wattage the same but there are only two that will work and they go for over $200 on eBay. If I am able to run a 45w quad core, I'll get better performance at about half the price. So, has anyone ever tried something like a 3630QM or ideally, a 3840QM chip in one of these Probooks? If so, how were the results? If no, is there an online community that may be better suited to assist with this project? So here is a little adde... Read more

Okay, I have the 6570b which has the 1366 x 768 screen.  I read here (yes here), that there were 3 screens available, the 1366 x 768, the 1600 x 900 and the 1920 x 1080, and that they could be physically installed into my laptop without issues. So, I went ahead and bought the 1920 x 1080 screen (Part No. 690405-001). I do a lot of PC/Laptop/iPhone repairs, so this was not a big task for me.  I replaced the screen no problem, powered up the laptop, and nothing. The screen itself lit up, so I knew it was getting power. I read somewhere else that maybe I needed the HD screen cable (Part No. 646969-001); so I went ahead and bought that too. I've just finished installing the cable, and reassembled the laptop, only to be presented with the same issue. Black sceen, but backlit. Any ideas? EDIT - Appears I bought the exact same cable (got the part number from another forum). I have now ordered the Part Number MPN 50.4RY03.001. Let's see if that one works when it arrives.

I just bought a HP ProBook 6570b laptop 2nd hand from a local college who was moving to a new campus and upgrading to new computers/laptops. Anyway, I bought this computer and it was reset to factory settings. It had Windows 7 and when I first turned it on it had a free upgrade to Windows 10 which I did upgrade to...though now I've seen a couple places people saying Windows 10 is not good? The main point I guess is that I don't know a lot about the functions and capabilities of the computer and what all it comes with. I have several questions but I have 3 questions to start with. 1. I tried putting icons on the desktop but have noticed that the touchpad allows you to zoom in and out much like on your phone. When I do this (usually by accident) all of the icons become huge and then when I zoom back out, they are all in different places. Is there a way to turn off this zoom function? While it may be handy for certain things, overall I've found it to be very hindering to basic use of the laptop.  2. I've noticed that the screen orientation will often turn. These both seem to be functions that are compatible for a phone or tablet. However, again it becomes annoying when I'm just trying to use it as a laptop. Is there a way to disable this function ? I know it has a "Tablet Mode" which I would possibly be interested in using sometimes, which brings me to my next question... 3. Does this computer come with touchscreen capabilities? It has seems to have all the o... Read more

Hi Everyone,

I have tried to upgrade two HP ProBook 6570b laptops to Windows 10 (from Windows 7).

Whilst in each instance the upgrade went smoothly, and I only needed to upgrade a couple of drivers manually, the performance of Windows 10 is unacceptable.

Both laptops feature an i5 processor, 4 Gigs of RAM, and Intel HD graphics.

Has anybody with this laptop model managed to get Windows 10 running smoothly, and if so how did you do it? Maybe I just need to throw more RAM at the situation...

Any thoughts or suggestions are most welcome.

I have a large exhaust fan, 1 intake fan from the top, one intake fan from the side, and a stock heatsink / fan on my processor.

I don't know what my base temps were before this started happening but under load my cpu comes up to about 45 - 55 and my core goes 75+.

They system freezes up when it idles at 75 for too long.

I tried cleaning off and replacing the thermal compound. Maybe needs more compound? But the CPU says that its cool....

I'd be mildly concerned. Only mildly. Those temps are many degrees below max and the PC would likely run many years at those temps.

Can you check your motherboard temp? If its lows then it just an issue with teh CPU cooling, possible a heatsink that is not seated correctly.

P.S. too many case fans will have the opposite effect of what you're going for or if they're not not facing the right way way. Which way do the fans blow?

Hello,

Hav a a 3-1/2 yr old HP Desktop.
Monitor has been going totally blank, now and then; a few times a day.
When working otherwise, 100 % fine.

Was wondering if possibly a temp. buildup, with an "automatic" shutdown perhaps ?
Possible ?

Have just installed the Speedfan program, and have a bunch of reading I don't understand ?

Shows also 1,000 rpm approx for two fans, so I guess the fans are working.

It shows for "GPU" 79 deg. C. Seems like a pretty hight temp., but not sure what is "normal" ?
Does this appear to be too high ?

Shows 0 rpm for GPU fan, but I am not at all sure there even is a GPU fan ?
Any way of checking without opening case; PC is in a very awkward position for me to play with

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hey everyone,

Recently ive had a severe problem of low FPS during gameplay and have been trying to figure out an answer as to why... Ive done all the standard procedure tests and heres what ive come up with...
I know for sure that is not:
1) a video card problem
2) a memory problem

Ive concluded this problem has something to do with my processor... Ive for a P4 prescott 3.0ghz and a Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000-G mobo and a BFGtech 6800GT OC agp 8x card

I downloaded a CPU temp reading program (as my mobo has thermal guages throughout) and found that my CPU is running IDLE at no less than 70c... Thats aproximatly 172 degrees farenheit!!! Now im not a computer genius... but that sounds out of this world for the computer being idle...

Now for the question.... With all my other hardware running flawless, could this extreme temperature problem be causing my VERY low FPS?? whether t is or not i ordered a new Arctic Freezer for my chip.... this computer used to run all games 100% flawless... not it just sucks

Someone just please reassure me that my suspicions are true and that the low FPS is a heating issue

thanks!

A:Abnormally high CPU temp

Well what I would do is reaply thermal grease (arctic silver 5 is the best)..

Make sure the the Heat Sink Fan is spinning. If not then you may need a new motherboard/HSF. I wouldn't recommened not turning on that comp until your sure about everything, as it is killing the cpu.

Isnt this really hot for a mobile processor? Its a 1.6 Celeron M. Compaqs tech support had me reinstall the power management software but it didnt help

Speedfan is telling me i have 2 different Temps one is at 43 and the other is at 62 celcius. This is at with 3 internet explorer pages running. it is 20-30 degrees Celsius in the room though.

Sandra is telling me that my mainboard temp is 43 and my cpu temp is 68 celcius. I have no clue what to do I have dusted out my video cards fan, power supply fan and the heatsink fan. I want to physically take off the heatsink and clean it but I am afraid im going to wreck it. All fans do work.

I have a Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHZ
Ati radeon 1600x Pro
asus Motherboard
1gb of ram
120gb HD
430 Watt PS
Iv had this cpu for 1.5 years and I recentely upgraded the videocard.

Any suggestions Im pretty sure this is high because when I do game it drags and I lose so much fps in mainly BF2.

Hey peeps I need some advice.

The other day I bought Splinter Cell: Chaos theory (only a tenner) and I was excited to get going.

After a short time playing it just froze. I rebooted my machine and checked the temps via the bios and my CPU temp as reported by the hardware monitor in the bios was 81C. This is the first time a game has locked up on me in years, but I've noticed the diode temp slowly creeping up gradually. A few months ago it was only 73C. My vcore is 1.725 in the bios (1.75 reported by probe), it's a bit high for a low OC but it's been stable like that for years so I didn't wanna touch it.

According to ASUS Probe and Speedfan, my socket temp when idle is 43C - 46C depending on room temp, and under load (playing a graphics intensive game) it's about 51C - 55C again depending on the room temp. Just sitting here idle my diode is in the 70s which is definitely not right. Graphics card temp is fine. 40C idle and less than 60 coming off a hard gaming session, so I doubt its that.

The diode is what matters though, and I can't figure out why it's so much higher than my socket. It should only be in the sixties really. I took off the HSF and reseated it but it didn't do anything. I've ordered some Arctic Silver 5 (lost my other one) and some cleaning fluid, so I'm gonna give it a good clean and then reseat it again, but if that doesn't work, I dunno what else to do.

It seems unusually high, only 5C away from the ... Read more

A:Diode temp is really high!

You are talking about the thermal diode under the CPU on the motherboard? These diodes are notorious for being highly inaccurate in their heat sencing. They vary in accuracy from motherboard to motherboard. You have a long history of high temps. I would invest in a better HSF and let the temps go as they are...

Is there anyone who owns a HP Pavillion 742 (nL)
This PC runs fine but the temperature of the CPU is 50 degrees centigrade from cold start.
The PSU indicates 70 degrees centigrade. This temp indication is hardly changing a few degrees. Support told me not to worry about it. Is this a normal indication? It must be erronious but perhaps it's a known error? All fans are running, nothing is likely overheating

Well im going to try and describe my problem as best as i can...

Well as of late (Last Month or Two) i have been getting a message on startup before the windows screen saying (Hardware monitor found an error, enter power set for details) I entered BIOS to find my temps pretty high...Nothing that i change fixes it...

Now i have three fans in my computer the CPU fan.... the Power Supply fan and one that come with my case... Now what ever one is the SYS fan doesn't seem to be functioning properly as its at 0RPM. (Although its actually working just not detecting that it is)

My system hangs when i do things that take heaps of resource... e.g (Extracting files such as Prison Break... or Burning CD's and DVD's things that take a fair bit of cpu usage..)

My system is pretty clean and im pretty smart on what i download and install... im wondering could this be a virus or hardware error?

I live in Australia and it summer here been pretty hot could this even be my problem?

Also each time i boot up i here a noise like a beep like its turning off and restarting or something isn't powering... although everything seems to be working in correct order.

I'm still relatively novice at building, O/Cing, etc. and would appreciate some sage advice.
Board is an MSI 790FX hosting a Phenom 2 550 @ 3.64 (235x15,5) 1.39V on stock air.
Everest Ultimate shows me idle temps as follows:
MB 33c
CPU 29c
GPU 35-37c (5770 vapour x)
Northbridge 63c

After OC I ran Prime 95 for 3 hours, system stayed stable but I wasn't monitoring temps.. yea rookie.

Is my idle Northbridge temp too high? It seems out of proportion to my other temps.
Or... is the Everest sensor accurate? The heatsink isn't overly hot to the touch.

Thanks in advance for any help with this

A:Northbridge temp too high?

If that was under full load then no its not too hot.* They are designed to run at those temps.
Is your x 2 550 a BE? and were you running the HT/NB oc'ed? I would watch the temps if you plan to push it higher. If it still bothers you, you can pick up a after-market NB cooler for $20 and keep it below 50C under load. Its within operating temps but personally I like to keep the NB to 50c or below, but thats just me. You might also try to get a few free degrees out of iy and replace the thermal compound on the NB HS. *****be very careful if you do, you are dealing with a very small chip and it takes very little compound to be effective******

well i got this computer less than a year ago, and i stumbled across temp reading all over and read that everything under 70C is fine, so i went ahead and tested mine using both speedfan and motherboard monitor.
The results i got were the same for both:

temp1:114C
temp2:128C
temp3:27C
HDD:40C

i first used mbm and thaught maybe something was wrong... but then i tried speedfan and had the same results.

computer i have:

p4 2.8ghz

thanks for anyone's help

A:cpu temp extremely high.. need some help

Make sure your computer fan is working and isn't clogged with dust. Also check your heat sync inside your computer to see if it's covered in dust. If you see any dust inside your computer remove it, it's heats best friend. Also, make sure your comp is in a well ventilated space.

My problem is, what is Temp2? ive been looking through Speedfan and can't find its explanations on what Temp2 is? is it the CPU?

Hello everyone, I hope you can provide some answers or at least point me in the right direction. I have 2 software programs running and this is what they are telling me.
Now besides the high cpu temp and low voltage readings, I get sporadic "windows explorer" crashes. Yet, I'm still able to capture my television shows, burn dvd's, and play madden and tiger woods gold. I thought it might the thermal paste, so I bought some and applied it with no change. The temp stays at 113 or 114 Celsius. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to share.

A:High cpu temp, low voltage

i really don't see any temp in that screenshot...but it must be a wrong reading by de software
Look at the temperatures within bios.

Hi there wolffyx, its really hot, these days in Greece, but your real problem is the old hardware you are running on.
Dont spend any more on that machine, save up and get yourself anything newer, there are excellent choices even in the 1155 socket, cheap, affordable and productive machines.

Hey guys, new to these forums and a total plonker when it comes to PC's.
But i know for sure that my CPU temp shouldnt be at 90C.
This happens when playing any sort of game, usually counter-strike, and even the idle temp is 70C after 4/5 hours. Any help on how to get this down would be appreciated, cheers

A:CPU temp outrageously high!

no your CPU temp should NOT be at 90C.

You need to think about some better airflow, maybe an outtake fan if you don't have one...
