I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Best to use CD ISO method for all BIOS updates, which makes it independent of the OS.

Hi....... I am hoping that someone may be able to pint me in the right direction.   I have an old IBM Thinkcentre..... I am not sure which exact model it is.  Used to use it in my home office, but moved it out to the entertainment center ages ago and basically use it as a "jukebox" that I have stored all my music into and feed my audio system.  I run nothing else, and it worked fine doing this for years.  Anyway, with a recent update in iTunes, I now am experiencing issues playing back music, as I never have before.   I populated the main board with 4GB of RAM, but when I check in system information...... although it states 4GB installed, it only chows 2.25GB in "total physical memory". I have tried everything I could to increase performance of the resources I have..... disabled what was unnecessary and turned off everything that does not absolutely need to run in the background, but have only improved things a bit.  In doing some research, it was suggested that a  BIOS update "may" allow me to go beyond the RAM limitations of my system.  I figured I would try this out before bagging it and just investing in a new computer. Anyway, I have attached a snapshot of my system configuration.  Can anyone help me find a later version of BIOS?  I have tried searching for it myself, but everything points me back to the Lenovo site, were I cannot find anything.  When I plug in my serial number, it does not find a... Hi there, I recently bought a Lenovo Thinkcentre E73 SFF, which had Windows 10 installed in it. I decided that I wanted to installed Windows 7 instead of using Windows 10. I decided to go into the BIOS to change the boot priority so that my Windows 7 installation drive had priority over the pre-existing boot drive. In the process, I also recall disabling "Fast Boot", as the PC kept skipping the post screen every time I booted up. It continued to do that even when I was in Windows 10, but I've now got Windows 7 installed, but I cannot find any way to access the BIOS of the motherboard. Can anybody advise on how I'd go about getting into the motherboard BIOS? TLDR - I've installed Windows 7 in place of Windows 10, but I cannot get into the BIOS as the computer is forever skipping the post screen on bootup. Does anybody know about how I'd be able to get into the motherboard BIOS? Thanks in advance!P.S. I wish you all a Merry Christmas!!!

So I have a few questions about this PC I acquired recently, still being somewhat of a newbie to the building/modifying PC world. I have found the overview and the detailed specifications page on this PC, but for me, they are a bit hard to understand. What my ultimate goal is that i'll be able to make this into an XP Era gaming computer, have a lot of old PC games and I would like to play them. Yes I know its a bit silly to do when there's Steam and X amount of core processors available, but for nostalgia's sake, humor me. So specs first, then questions.Lenovo/IBM ThinkCentreM55(not sure if its a p, e, or whatever else there is)Model#: 8811FHUSerial#: LKHZFV3Motherboard: LENOVO LGA775Socket 775 LGAProcessor: Intel Pentium D 925 3.0 GHzRam: 2GBios Version: LENOVO 2JKT35AUS 4/30/07OS: Windows 7 Ult 32-bit So here are my questions,- Is the mobo 64 bit compatible or is it up to the cpu? (I plan on putting XP 64 bit if so)- What is the max amount, max speed the mobo can handle? (And if I put higher speed ram in would it be beneficial or would it just clock it down to whatever it needed)- Is is possible to upgrade the cpu at all and if so what are some of my options? (say to a 945 Pentium D 3.0 GHz or anything better?)- How does the whole mobo controls cpu choice/ cpu dictates ram speed/ ram limited to mobo or however it goes work anyways?- Best or any graphics cards that still support XP out there? I have a ThinkCentre E63z 10D4 model all-in-one.  I attempted to update the BIOS using the Flash UEFI BIOS update (Flash from operating system version).  This seems to have failed spectacularly, as the computer will no longer boot.  It will power on, show the Lenovo splash screen, go to a black screen, then reboot endlessly like this.  I have tried following every guide there is to recover this thing.  I have tried making a USB disk and booting from it, but it seems that USB devices aren't even being initialized during POST.  No lights come on the keyboard at all, and no input seems to work.  I have tried F1, F2, F12, holding down the function key while trying these, and absolutely nothing changes.  I got so desperate that I pulled a CD drive out of another computer and held the thing together with it plugged into the HDD SATA connector on the main board - no dice there either.  Won't even spin up the disk. What am I doing wrong?  How can I recover the BIOS on this thing?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I see on the board the M.2 port is labelled "SATA4" but I don't see this in the BIOS. Good Afternoon, I have about 300 of the ThinkCentre M710q coming my way and I have been trying to setup an automated process to update the BIOS as well as import BIOS settings.  These machines are being setup with Win7 Enterprise and will Legacy PXE boot. So far I am able to update the bios without an issue.  However I am not able to apply settings to the BIOS using the CFGWIN tool.  I am able to capture the settings, but upon restoring them I recieve the error: Restore Failed:  "Secure Boot,Disabled;[Optionalisabled,Enabled;". (MFGDone Set but Password not input or error) These are fresh machines out of the box with no passwords set for the BIOS.  They also have had their BIOS updated to the most current version. Has anyone else ran into this?  I also tried doing the same thing using the SRWIN.exe utility to export to a dat file, an I get the error: The input password is not correct.Return Code 40000001h Please let me know if you have run into this and perhaps found a solution/work around. Thank you!Michael

Hello there, I have (for the first time) a problem with my Lenovo ThinkCentre E73. I recently updated the BIOS (it was one of the initial versions and had some issues) to the latest version. I use a KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse) switch. This KVM switch has some USB inputs (for keyboard, mouse, USB stick or whatever) and the USB part is based on a (switchable) USB HUB. But when i connect my USB keyboard to this HUB, the Lenovo BIOS doesn't recognize it (keyboard does'nt work, and the Lenovo shows error 0211, no keyboard connected. The KVM itself isn't faulty, in Windows everything worked fine. Also the previous used BIOS version has no problems with the KVM and works fine also. There where no changes made in the hardware setup. When i plug my keyboard directly into the Lenovo the BIOS recognized it. When i use a simple (non powered) USB hub and plug my keyboard in, the BIOS doesn't detect is again. So it looks like the new BIOS has some issues with USB hubs. Not only my keyboard would be detected, also USB memory sticks are not visible by the boot manager. Can anybody help me, or can Lenovo made a change to the new BIOS version so i can use my KVM again into the BIOS? Thank you!

A:ThinkCentre E73 New BIOS doesn't recognize USB HUB...

I'm curious if you get the same result on a front USB port (I'm assuming the hub was connected to the rear.)

My Lenovo ThinkCentre runs just fine on Vista Business and I received Win 7 Ultimate NFR for both 32 and 64 bit versions. I have no real need to upgrade the OS, but I'm a tech junky and having the latest is one of my passions. Seriously, if I go more than a week without wiping and reloading some version of an OS on my BlackBerry, I start going into withdrawal. Anyhow, I'd like to put Win7 on my system, but just not sure if it's worth any potential headaches. I could upgrade to the 32 bit relatively easily I assume, but I'm thinking of doing a clean install of the 64bit. I would probably leave the recovery partition intact and install Win7 over the running Vista OS partition.

Is there any great advantage to loading 64bit from scratch? I have 4GB installed, and of course can only see 3GB currently. All programs and hardware are compatible per Windows Upgrade Advisor. I haven't done a clean install on my pc in a few years, and I remember it being a huge pain to re-install all programs and settings. Should I just go with the 32bit version?

Thanks!

A:Should I upgrade my ThinkCentre to Win 7 64bit?

64 is the wave of the future..if you can get the drivers go for it....they are usually already on the dvd...but you may have to go get one or 2...most people dont have to go get any as the dvd has most and windows updates has the rest

I went for it on my dell..worked like a breeze...i did go to 32 later though due to a network all in 1 that wasnt happy with 64

from the "Hello,
I have been trying to add our company's asset tag numbers to some of our m73 ThinkCentre desktops.
The Model Number is S0JV00
BIOS Version is Lenovo FCKT80AUS
Operating System is Windows 10

I recently updated the BIOS to the current version it is now, like I was recomended from the "Help us help you" thread.
"A surprising number of problems are solved by updating the BIOS."
However, after the update, the asset tag option is still greyed out.  I have tried using the CFGWIN.exe comand that came with the FCJW80USA download, like Lenovo recommended but I keep getting
Error: "Enumerate Lenovo_BiosSetting failed. Error Code = 0c80041003"

I also tried AFUWINGUI to try and save the BIOS settings, and then edit them to then re-flash with the updated asset information if that was possible but when I try to open the saved bios file, it opens in wordpad and looks like it is encrypted.

Some sort of step by step process would be the most help, naturally.
This has just been such a hassle.  If there are anymore info that could help, I would be happy to add it.

Thank you in advance.

We are now migrating from Windows 7 to Windows 10.With windows 7 we were running legacy BIOS. Now with Windows 10 it is UEFI and Secure Boot on all machines before deployment of operating system. I have configured the BIOS settings exactly as i wanted on one machine. (UEFI, Boot Order, Secure Boot Enabled)Then i have used CFGWIN.exe to export my settings to a txt file CFGWIN.exe /c /path:c:\settings.txt Now i want to use this configuration on all other Lenovo computers, without going in to BIOS and change all settings manually. So in my OS deployment i run:CFGWIN.exe /r /path:c:\settings.txt (after that i reboot the computers and continue with OS deployment) But BIOS are not set to UEFI, Secure Boot is still disabled? Please help! Sorry Wrong Thread, how do i change?

A:I Want to Access BIOS on ThinkCentre M Series to enable virtualization

"after powering up"? You select F1 at the Lenovo splash screen just after boot to enter BIOs. If you're not able to get in, you are not pressing F1 soon enough.

All,
I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre M57 6072-AUF running Windows 7 64 bit. I got it for a song at a computer recycle center? It was originally a govt of Quebec system and the BIOS is in French. I want to flash the BIOS to update it and to also convert it to English. I went to the Lenovo site and burned the correct BIOS .iso to a disk. The old BIOS version is ?LENOVO 2RKT38AFR, 2/15/2008? the new version / .iso is ?2rj964a.iso?. However, there is no executable and even though I was able to stumble my way through the French BIOS set up and change the boot sequence to CD/DVD first, it will not boot on start up. The flash from within Windows BIOS version on the Lenovo site is an executable, but only supports a 32 bit OS. Is there a separate flash utility that I can use that will allow me to drive the new BIOS flash from inside Windows 7 64 bit? Basic steps would be good, I could never be accused of being a technical all-star. Thanks

A:BIOS Flash Question Lenovo ThinkCentre M57 6072-AUF

Hi Welcome to Seven Forums .. There is no executable for the 64 Bit OS .. Try tapping F1 or F2 at start up .. That should give you bootable Options ..

Fitted a blank 2TB hard drive, with the intention of loading LINUX mint. My problem is that the system is still
attempting to boot from a non existing LAN. The original specification inculded PXE V2.1 and AMT 7.1
How Can I return this Unit to boot normally to the HHD. Will upgrading the Bios Acheive this, or must I also
work on the Uefi.  Sorry if this seems simple It is causing me a large amount of stress.

I'd recommend going into the UEFI, which replaces the old BIOS standard, and resetting to optimal defaults, which will likely fix the issue. You also should update it, if you have access to a Windows system use rufus to format a bootable dos usb stick and copy the contents of the USB Drive UEFI BIOS Flash Package so you won't need Windows (or a CD) on the actual system to do updates. The current version is 58 vs the 43 you have on there now. By the way you can also use rufus to install Windows to a usb drive for 'Windows To Go' mode which is quite useful at times, especially if you don't want Windows on the system itself. You can download a Windows 10 iso directly from Microsoft's website and via rufus  'Windows To Go' mode isn't limited to just the Enterprise version. CHANGES for 9HKT58A/9HJT58A

I'm trying to watch some HD videos at the very least! Also gaming can always be a plus. I notice the card riser PCIe x1 produces problems because there's not enough room inside the small form factor case. Also i'm hearing the PSU (225w max) is also a factor - which a GPU is very limited. I just want to know if anyone had success with one of these simliar models i'm cureently writing about?

Just wondering if, and how, I can troubleshoot an oddity I have. We run a number of this model Lenovo and decided they would be better with 8Gb of RAM, up from the original 4Gb. All went smoothly until one PC emitted a musical alert on booting after the upgrade, which stopped when I removed the new RAM. I checked I had the new RAM in the correct slot, blue just like the original stick. I tried the suspect stick in the next box and it is fine. Where do I start looking to find out what is going on? Regards, Granville.

A:Thinkcentre m92p memory upgrade failed

I would repace the original 4GB with upgrade memory, test to see if it boots, and then put original memory into upgrade slot and test, if it fails, that slot is probably bad.   You could use it in the other bank, won't be as fast, but you'll have 8GB.

After any memory upgrade or change, I suggest running a couple of passes of MemTest86, the free version, to ensure all is well.

Hi, everybody.

I'm trying to figure out a number of things about 'switching' everything important from my current (old model) computer over to the Lenova ThinkCentre A50 8148-22U (which I received as a gift).

My main concerns are:

(1) How can I get all (emphasis on 'all' because I understand MS and others embed data into very low (unaccessible regions of hard disks!)? I'm concerned about making sure the System Registry gets copied completely.

Is there a software utility or a 'cable option' that performs a true "bit" (mirror) copy from one HD to another HD? My current HD has all my extremely-difficult-to-install/update info on it already. That's why I would prefer using its data. I want to be able to boot my current drive's OS instead of the OS already installed on the 8148.

I'm not certain at this point of writing what type/model my current HD drive is. (I didn't look before writing this post. Heh heh. Sorry!).

I read on Lenova's website forum where someone said to another user: "Since your computer has ultra-ATA connectors, make sure that internal drives (including hard drives) you purchase are ultra-ATA compatible. Most drives on the market are serial-ATA drives".

(2) If my drive is not "ultra-ATA compatible," what do you recommend?

(3) I need to use my current AGP video card by installing it in the AGP slot on the 8148-22U. The reason is, that my HDMI monitor plugs in... Read more

Hello everyone,                        I've just salvaged a ''Thinkcentre'' 7359 from my office and i want to do a full upgrade.I found out here that it supports Q9550 but it is way too much money now (ebay around 45$).My goal is to make a budget upgrade max 25$ for the processor and 30$ for 8 or 4 gb of ram. I've used ssd from my old computer and even now with 2 gb of ram and intel e5300 runs well but it lags on x265 hevc codecs. I want to use it as a media player connected on my tv and I want it to run 1080p hevc smoothly.so my question to you all is what quad processors can my little m58 take and run.p.s.-bios is upgraded to the last version

We are imaging our computers in SCCM, we use the BIOS Scripts to take ownership of the TPM chips and to provision bitlocker.  This is working fine, its the final step in the process of adding our PIN to the bitlocker drive that fails.  The machine is giving an error "The BIOS did not correctly communicat with the Trusted Platform Module (TPM).  Contact the computer manufacturer for BIOS upgrade instructions." The machine is running the latest posted availalbe BIOS:  Bios revision level: M16KT32A Bios block revision level: 1.32  Bios Date: 5/3/2017 Machine type and model: 10M8S0HU00 The original configuration is an NVMe drive, in thought that this could be causing the issue, we removed this drive and placed a standard SATA hard drive in it and receive the same error.  As another test we put our windows 10 task sequence on it and it worked without issue. The only difference is that the Boot mode for Windows 7 to work with the NVMe is only available to the LEGACY.  The Boot mode for Windows 10 is using UEFI. I have attached 2 screenshots that show the error we receive in windows 7.  This command runs during the task sequence and fails, we tried it in the OS as well and receive the error. Please help ASAP, this is affecting our T470 model as well.  We need to certify these devices asap.
