I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Best to use CD ISO method for all BIOS updates, which makes it independent of the OS.

Hi....... I am hoping that someone may be able to pint me in the right direction.   I have an old IBM Thinkcentre..... I am not sure which exact model it is.  Used to use it in my home office, but moved it out to the entertainment center ages ago and basically use it as a "jukebox" that I have stored all my music into and feed my audio system.  I run nothing else, and it worked fine doing this for years.  Anyway, with a recent update in iTunes, I now am experiencing issues playing back music, as I never have before.   I populated the main board with 4GB of RAM, but when I check in system information...... although it states 4GB installed, it only chows 2.25GB in "total physical memory". I have tried everything I could to increase performance of the resources I have..... disabled what was unnecessary and turned off everything that does not absolutely need to run in the background, but have only improved things a bit.  In doing some research, it was suggested that a  BIOS update "may" allow me to go beyond the RAM limitations of my system.  I figured I would try this out before bagging it and just investing in a new computer. Anyway, I have attached a snapshot of my system configuration.  Can anyone help me find a later version of BIOS?  I have tried searching for it myself, but everything points me back to the Lenovo site, were I cannot find anything.  When I plug in my serial number, it does not find a... I was updating the BIOS for my M910x Tiny via system update, the program just started then suddenly some system notification popped up and my mouse wouldn't move, as the BIOS upgrade window under Windows 10 also seemed frozen. I know it was my fault that I didn't wait long enough but just pressed the power button to shut down the machine, so when I power it up again I can only hear repeatedly 2 short beeps and the system couldn't boot anymore. So is there any solution I can fix the BIOS? I've seen the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper method on other model, but not sure what is the correct procedure on M910x yet. Thanks for any help!

Hey folks,

Got an M93 with Win 10. Lenovo solution center asks to do upgrades on BIOS and a bunch of drivers. Did that, and now I can't boot the computer.

Tried pressing F1 after pressing start button, no help. Can't enter BIOS, still stuck at lenovo screen. Also tried Ctrl+Alt+Del on that screen, blacks out then stuck at lenovo screen again.

Please help and inform, thanks!!!

I would try resetting the BIOS using the jumper, or by taking out the CMOS battery, wait a minute or two, and then replace it and try booting up. See page 73 of the Hardware Maintenance Manaul linked below for location of the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper (# 20) https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/thinkcentre_pdf/m83m93p_hmm.pdf Clearing the CMOS (BIOS)1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer. 2. Remove the computer cover. 3. Locate the Clear CMOS /Recovery jumper on the system board. 4. Move the jumper from the standard position (pin 1 and pin 2) to the maintenance position (pin 2 and pin 3). 5. Reinstall the computer cover and connect the power cord. 6. Turn on the computer and leave it on for approximately 10 seconds. Then, turn off the computer by holding the power switch for approximately five seconds. 7. Repeat step 1 through step 2. 8. Move the Clear CMOS /Recovery jumper back to the standard position (pin 1 and pin 2). 9. Reinstall the computer cover and connect the power cord. Good Luck,

Hi there, I recently bought a Lenovo Thinkcentre E73 SFF, which had Windows 10 installed in it. I decided that I wanted to installed Windows 7 instead of using Windows 10. I decided to go into the BIOS to change the boot priority so that my Windows 7 installation drive had priority over the pre-existing boot drive. In the process, I also recall disabling "Fast Boot", as the PC kept skipping the post screen every time I booted up. It continued to do that even when I was in Windows 10, but I've now got Windows 7 installed, but I cannot find any way to access the BIOS of the motherboard. Can anybody advise on how I'd go about getting into the motherboard BIOS? TLDR - I've installed Windows 7 in place of Windows 10, but I cannot get into the BIOS as the computer is forever skipping the post screen on bootup. Does anybody know about how I'd be able to get into the motherboard BIOS? Thanks in advance!P.S. I wish you all a Merry Christmas!!!

So I have a few questions about this PC I acquired recently, still being somewhat of a newbie to the building/modifying PC world. I have found the overview and the detailed specifications page on this PC, but for me, they are a bit hard to understand. What my ultimate goal is that i'll be able to make this into an XP Era gaming computer, have a lot of old PC games and I would like to play them. Put it back in and plugged everything in again. No change. I looked through the manual and examined the motherboard closely, but don't see a mention of a CMOS jumper anywhere. Any advice?

Hello there, I have (for the first time) a problem with my Lenovo ThinkCentre E73. I recently updated the BIOS (it was one of the initial versions and had some issues) to the latest version. I use a KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse) switch. This KVM switch has some USB inputs (for keyboard, mouse, USB stick or whatever) and the USB part is based on a (switchable) USB HUB. But when i connect my USB keyboard to this HUB, the Lenovo BIOS doesn't recognize it (keyboard does'nt work, and the Lenovo shows error 0211, no keyboard connected. The KVM itself isn't faulty, in Windows everything worked fine. Also the previous used BIOS version has no problems with the KVM and works fine also. There where no changes made in the hardware setup. When i plug my keyboard directly into the Lenovo the BIOS recognized it. When i use a simple (non powered) USB hub and plug my keyboard in, the BIOS doesn't detect is again. So it looks like the new BIOS has some issues with USB hubs. Not only my keyboard would be detected, also USB memory sticks are not visible by the boot manager. Can anybody help me, or can Lenovo made a change to the new BIOS version so i can use my KVM again into the BIOS? Thank you!

I'm curious if you get the same result on a front USB port (I'm assuming the hub was connected to the rear.)

I have a ThinkCentre E63z 10D4 model all-in-one.  I attempted to update the BIOS using the Flash UEFI BIOS update (Flash from operating system version).  This seems to have failed spectacularly, as the computer will no longer boot.  It will power on, show the Lenovo splash screen, go to a black screen, then reboot endlessly like this.  I have tried following every guide there is to recover this thing.  I have tried making a USB disk and booting from it, but it seems that USB devices aren't even being initialized during POST.  No lights come on the keyboard at all, and no input seems to work.  I have tried F1, F2, F12, holding down the function key while trying these, and absolutely nothing changes.  I got so desperate that I pulled a CD drive out of another computer and held the thing together with it plugged into the HDD SATA connector on the main board - no dice there either.  Won't even spin up the disk. What am I doing wrong?  How can I recover the BIOS on this thing?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good Afternoon, I have about 300 of the ThinkCentre M710q coming my way and I have been trying to setup an automated process to update the BIOS as well as import BIOS settings.  These machines are being setup with Win7 Enterprise and will Legacy PXE boot. So far I am able to update the bios without an issue.  However I am not able to apply settings to the BIOS using the CFGWIN tool.  I am able to capture the settings, but upon restoring them I recieve the error: Restore Failed:  "Secure Boot,Disabled;[Optionalisabled,Enabled;". (MFGDone Set but Password not input or error) These are fresh machines out of the box with no passwords set for the BIOS.  They also have had their BIOS updated to the most current version. Has anyone else ran into this?  I also tried doing the same thing using the SRWIN.exe utility to export to a dat file, an I get the error: The input password is not correct.Return Code 40000001h Please let me know if you have run into this and perhaps found a solution/work around. Thank you!Michael

My Lenovo ThinkCentre runs just fine on Vista Business and I received Win 7 Ultimate NFR for both 32 and 64 bit versions. I have no real need to upgrade the OS, but I'm a tech junky and having the latest is one of my passions. Seriously, if I go more than a week without wiping and reloading some version of an OS on my BlackBerry, I start going into withdrawal. Anyhow, I'd like to put Win7 on my system, but just not sure if it's worth any potential headaches. I could upgrade to the 32 bit relatively easily I assume, but I'm thinking of doing a clean install of the 64bit. I would probably leave the recovery partition intact and install Win7 over the running Vista OS partition.

Is there any great advantage to loading 64bit from scratch? I have 4GB installed, and of course can only see 3GB currently. All programs and hardware are compatible per Windows Upgrade Advisor. I haven't done a clean install on my pc in a few years, and I remember it being a huge pain to re-install all programs and settings. Should I just go with the 32bit version?

Thanks!

A:Should I upgrade my ThinkCentre to Win 7 64bit?

64 is the wave of the future..if you can get the drivers go for it....they are usually already on the dvd...but you may have to go get one or 2...most people dont have to go get any as the dvd has most and windows updates has the rest

I went for it on my dell..worked like a breeze...i did go to 32 later though due to a network all in 1 that wasnt happy with 64

So I checked on the internet and found this :  Socket is AM2, and Phenom ready (page4). Possible CPU upgrades are Athlon 2 6400+ (dual core 3.2 ghz) and Phenom x4 9550 (quad core 2.6 ghz). Also, there are 4 memory slots, DDR2 PC 6400 (800 mhz). Max memory supported is 8 gb theorically. My questions are :  - Which compatible CPU is the best ? Is Phenom x4 9550 really compatible ? - 4x 2gb ram is the best configuration ?  Thanks in advance for your help. Fabri8686

Tower or Small form factor... actually posting your Machine Type Model (MTM) would help. If you have the tower, just about any ATX PSU like this one would work since I believe your motherboard as the standard 24 pin connector, but with that card you might want to wait to see if it even needs a 300w PSU, because it may work just fine with you current PSU unless you have a bunch of HDDs installed etc.. If you want a Lenovo PSU that shipped with the M81, you can get a 280 watt like this one  https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Lenovo-41A9684-Desktop-PS-5281-7VR/dp/B00R3NPNN6, which should be more than capable of powering your GPU. Best of luck,

Hi Lenovo Community, a have an M910q 10MV0012US Tiny. I'm trying to clone an existing OS on an NVMe M.2 SSD to an M.2 SATA SSD (Lenovo PN 00JT082), it appears to reimage successfully to the drive which is showing in the software. However, the drive isn't showing up as a boot option in the BIOS and I can't boot from the SSD. So then I tried reinstalling Windows 10 fresh on it, and it looks like it installed ok and does appear in Windows installation media, but again, can't boot from it. Now, I did read on a forum topic for (I think) a M710, that it only supports NVMe drives and not M.2 SATA. Wondering if it is the same with the M910 desktop. Am I correct in this case, does it not support bootable M.2 SATA drives? If so, let me know. Thanks!

from the "Hello,
I have been trying to add our company's asset tag numbers to some of our m73 ThinkCentre desktops.
The Model Number is S0JV00
BIOS Version is Lenovo FCKT80AUS
Operating System is Windows 10

I recently updated the BIOS to the current version it is now, like I was recomended from the "Help us help you" thread.
"A surprising number of problems are solved by updating the BIOS."
However, after the update, the asset tag option is still greyed out.  I have tried using the CFGWIN.exe comand that came with the FCJW80USA download, like Lenovo recommended but I keep getting
Error: "Enumerate Lenovo_BiosSetting failed. Error Code = 0c80041003"

I also tried AFUWINGUI to try and save the BIOS settings, and then edit them to then re-flash with the updated asset information if that was possible but when I try to open the saved bios file, it opens in wordpad and looks like it is encrypted.

Some sort of step by step process would be the most help, naturally.
This has just been such a hassle.  If there are anymore info that could help, I would be happy to add it.

Thank you in advance.

So I'm looking to Flash the BIOS on the M910t models for use in Enterprise deployment but can't for the life of me find any documentation on the process. Does the m1ajy36usa.exe executable have silent switches or is there a reliable and preferably nonfrustrating way to set this up? Thank you!

I am having issues with my ThinkCentere M72e-it only recognizes my i5 Processor as having two cores, both in Bios and in Windows 10.  The Bios is very out of date, but it will not update.  If I try to do it through the operating system method, I get an error "Bios version of ROM doesn't match the current file".  If I try the USB flash drive method (for which there are no instructions) Bios reconizes the flas card int he start-up configuration, but when it tries to boot tot he USB with he update files on it, I get a message, no operating system found.  I installed teh Lenovo System udater, and while it says it will update Bios, it hasn't.How do I get the Thnkcentre to update Bios, or at least recognize the i% processor as a quad core?

Hello, is it possible to install DD3 PC3-12800 into Thinkcentre Edge71 that usually accepts PC3-10600. Is there a way to check this somewhere in the system or BIOS. At the moment PC3-12800 is cheaper then PC3-10600 and I would like increase RAM from 8GB to 16GB. Thank you very much.

I have seen Crucial Memory use higher speed chips for their Lenovo 'System Specific' memory (the speed will drop to the lowest common denominator), but I believe the timings must be identical to the factory memory to work.

The m700 SFF (I7 and 16gb of ram) comes with 80 PLUS 85% 210 W PSU power supply.  I currently need a graphics card that can support 4 monitors preferably via VGA.  I found a few graphics cards and even installed one (Radeon 5570 SFF) already and it didn't work.  The minimum was 250w so that should be the problem.   In any case, if I need to upgrade my PSU, how do I find one?   Also, are there any GPUs that will fufill my needs without needing to upgrade the PSU?   In other words, what are the compatible GPUs for my computer that can work with the current PSU or an upgraded PSU that can support 4 monitors?   For example, if I wanted the nvidia Quadro NVS 420, would that be compatible with the my computer and its current PSU?
