Q: Photo gallery question...dell window 7 professional

Hello. I have many pictures is my photo gallery including scans, img and others. Each item is assigned a number for example scan0001 and img001. Lately pictures have been showing up in my photo gallery and are assigned numbers that start with B000...for example scan0001 is assigned a number such as B0001234. Both the scan picture and the B000 picture remain in the photo gallery. I have an external hard drive and thought that the B000 were backup numbers. I have looked on google and asked the question about the B000 and have had no luck. Can someone help. Thank you.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi to whoever can help. It's my understanding that Windows Photo Gallery is part of the Windows Vista OS software program. I want to send photos via email from Photo Gallery. However, the program does not bring up an email window with the photos attached as it is supposed to do according to the Help menu information, etc. The program appears to prepare the selected photos for attachment, but then this particular window closes without anything further happening. What I think is supposed to happen next is for the default (Mozilla Thunderbird) email window to come up for sending out an email.
Any ideas anyone out there?
David.

I have a folder with photos and videos from a recent vacation. I sorted the files by date so that I could show them to friends/family in the order they were taken. The problem is that when I open the first photo in Windows Live Photo Gallery and begin scrolling through my photos/videos using the arrows occasionally it shows them in order by date but almost always it shows them in order by name so it shows all the photos first then the videos. How can I scroll through my photos/videos by date?

hi, wondering is there any way to set the timer/settings for live photo gallery?

just found out it can be set as screensaver, but for video, is around 10 seconds only,

anyone found some ways to extend it?

A:window live photo gallery, screensaver timer

This was the procedure I used and the video ran full length. Maybe your video is only 10sec long.
? Open Live Essentials Photo Gallery
? Click on File
? Click on > Screen Saver Settings (This will open the Screen Saver Settings)
? Browse to your folder with the video and open it (OK)
? In the Use this theme list box, select Album
? Then do Save
? Now run Preview and see whether it works

Hi, I have Yahoo mail and dialup. in order for me to send pictures I have to go into the photo gallery and make them into thumbnails. In the dropdown menu under files there is an option and in that option it says that the orginals are saved or stored(somewhere) in case I want the pictures back to original. I don't have the faintest idea where to look for them.

Thank you

A:Photo Gallery Question

Why don't you just put them into a ZIP folder and attach that to the mail. Or, if you have many, upload them to e.g. Skydrive (in a ZIP folder too) and mail the link. The recipient can download them from there. Kodak Gallery, Photobucket are other options.

With a little luck its very easy.
If you installed the new version a short while ago, replace it by using a system restore.

When editing a picture, I keep getting this message: "changes to this picture can't be saved because Photo Gallery has experienced a problem." I've tried various things I've found online (as apparently others have experienced this too), but none of the ideas helped. Here's the thing, it's worked for years until now. Last week I played around with my services, disabling some to speed up my computer and also played with my start-up menu. I have no idea what I changed, however. Could any particular service being disabled cause this problem? Thanks, and have a nice day.

A:Windows Photo Gallery question

Hello Patch19, welcome to Vista Forums!

Let me get this straight, you made changes to "services" not knowing what you were doing and didn't create a restore point first and you have no idea what you changed.
See if doing a system restore to a point before you made the changes will sort it out, have a look at the tutorial at the link; be sure to post back to keep us informed.

A:Photo Gallery vs. Windows Live Photo Gallery?

Hi TheGreatGazoo,

Welcome to the forum.

It really just depends on what features are more useful to you. It seems that Windows Live Photo Gallery will work seamlessly with Live Spaces.

You can compare the features from the two at these links to see which one you like better.

Windows Photo Gallery:

Windows Live Photo Gallery:

Hello LV,

You should have a Windows Photo Viewer to select to open with? This is the new Windows Photo Gallery.

If not, then after you click on Open with Choose default program More Options, it should be there to select.

I've got myself a real pickle. First of all, does this look like the correct location [thread] for the Pictures Files;

The problem I have, is that none of my Pictures Files will open in Windows Live Photo Gallery, or even Windows Photo Gallery for that matter, because, as I am told by these windows, 'a' Folder is hidden. Here's the info I get;

How the heck do I get myself out of this mess? All my Picture Files are there, it's just that I cannot access WL Photo Gallery, to do any editing etc.

I also suspect that something isn't quite right with my Folder set-up here;

Any advice appreciated to assist me to clean-up my act

I have Windows Vista Home Premium on my laptop. Fairly new to computers, but in the last 2 years I have loaded photos from a digital camera, and also from a scanner. I have successfully emailed some of them. Yesterday, when trying to get the full knowledge about how to use the Photo Gallery, I realised that I have Windows Photo Gallery, and also Windows Live Photo Gallery installed. It seems that both can be used without any problem. However, when I have been in 'Live Gallery' a message will appear that '.... Live Gallery has stopped working.' followed by a prompt- should I report this to help with a repair, which I always do;then another prompt to close the programme. Next time I use Live Gallery everything is fine, then eventually the same prompts again appear.
Am I doing something incorrectly ? From what I have gathered trawling around here, the Live Gallery has extra features not found in Photo Gallery.
Thanks for any forthcoming simple guidance and explanations.

Since Windows Live is an internet connected program, I'm wondering if you're just getting the same error message I get several times a day with Internet Explorer. Lately, IE has been recovering on it's own rather than saying it has to shut down.
I assume you have SP2 installed since that is required.

I replaced the hard drive in my Dell Dimension E521, with a new 320GB (non Dell Specific) WD unit, and loaded Windows 7 Pro (again, non Dell specific version). The old hard drive was bad.

I downloaded the 1.1.11 BIOS update (http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDeta...) to a bootable USB flash drive. When I boot the computer off of the flash drive, it comes up with the C: thing and does nothing else.

Am I supposed to type something in there, to get it to update the BIOS or access the file on the flash drive?

I'm kind of new to this stuff, but learning...

I want to update the BIOS, to be able to install the AMD Athlon 64 X 2 6000+ processor. The current version is 1.1.6.

Thanks in advance for any advice...

A:Photo Gallery

1) Assuming you're running Vista, right? 32bit or 64bit, and which version?

2) is this 100% reproducible? (IOW does this happen every tie you try to delete a pic?)

3) More importantly, does this happen with *every* picture?

4) Does this happen anywhere else also (Documents, Downloads, etc)?

5) Never use your email address as a login, or post your email address in a forum - hackers out in the world and spammers and other sorts of undesirable characters always are trolling through websites to find email addresses to sell as part of large lists to companies that spam, and even worse are the hackers that use your email address to try to infect your machine.

Hello
I used to use this feature to import and edit my photos but it is full of video and photos. When I first tried to remove them it said it needed admin privileges so I did that.
Then it said I needed permission from Trusted Installer
Should I leave all of these or can I remove them so I have room to work on my photos and videos. There must be hundreds of default photos and videos in there.
Can it be done or should it be done and if so, how do I do it?

Why do you say " without success ? "
Was there an error message during installing Windows Essentials ?
When you started downloading Windows Essentials, you should be prompted to install a Netframework first. Did you allow it to be installed ? You do need that installed first.
Did you go to All apps > look for Phot Gallery under Alphabet P ?

I'm not sure where to post this. I have Vista. As of two days ago, I was able to view movies from my Kodak digital camera in Windows Photo Gallery. It doesn't work anymore. The extension is .mov. The photos can be viewed in HP Quick Play, but it's a pain to look at photos in one app and movies in another. I tried to make Photo Gallery the default, but the s/w won't show the movies. In those 2 days, I loaded an app (VLC Media Player) trying to resolve another .avi issue. I noticed that these movie files were showing up as VLC files. I uninstalled the s/w and now I'm stuck. Any ideas? Thanks.

A:Photo Gallery

Hi Sharyn and welcome to TSF.

When you installed VLC it would have automatically become the default application for the .mov extension and most other movie formats as well as MP3's. During the install of VLC it does ask you if you wish to associate certain file types with VLC. Personally I use VLC for all my movies except for bluray, and for that I use CyberLink.

If you wish to view your images in Windows Photo Gallery then go Start>and type Default Programs in to the search box at the bottom. Click on the second item 'Associate a file type or protocol with a program'. It will then load all the file formats available to you. Scroll down to .jpg and left click it to highlight it. Click 'Change Program' at the top and then in the window that opens click on Windows Photo Viewer and then OK. (you may wish to do the same with PNG, BMP & GIF files) This will make Windows Photo Viewer the default application.
Personally I use Windows Photo Viewer for all my images and VLC for all my films.

I think that is what you were asking for? If not, just let me know and we will try something else.
