Preferred Solution: How to remove mouse click animated water drop effect ??

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I recently got a new computer at work with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. I'm having issues in both Excel and Outlook when I try to drag and drop an item, instead of just dropping when I take my finger off of the mouse button, I'm having to click a second time on the mouse to get it to drop the item. I have googled this problem and tried multiple things to trouble shoot without success. It is driving me crazy!

I have downloaded new mouse software
Tried another mouse
Undocked and tried with touchpad
Checked settings in Excel and drag and drop is enabled.

Really appreciate any insights.

Hi hope you can help and my apologies in advance for lack of using the proper tech words for things.

About a week ago I started to have problems with my right click menus, drop down boxes and ability to close browser and browser popups.

The problem is intermittent and seems to happen once I have been online for a while rather than at start up.

When I right click, the menu either doesn’t come up at all, or is empty, ghosted out, with just a vague outline of the frame.

When I encounter a drop down box option, I click on it and no menu drops down.

And as said above, when this is happening, I have to close browser and pop up boxes via the task manager.

When this started I immediately did 2 full virus scans, spybot & adaware scan, plus I downloaded Malwarebytes Anti Malware and did a full scan with one find, details below:

Using Windows XP Home SP3

Among the buttons in my Desktop popup menu (mouse 3) are these:

Save Desktop Icon Layout
Restore Desktop Icon Layout

How can I remove the buttons and the application they run?

A:Desktop mouse right click popup menu - remove buttons?

keepplugging, It looks like you may have installed Icon Restore at one time as it puts those 2 items in the desktop right click context menu. Check out the link below which also has a "Uinstall Icon Restore" tool at the bottom of the page which you can download and run. I'd create a new System Restore Point prior to running it.

Context Menu Editor 1.0 is also Free and may get the job done.

So, I just installed a watercooler on my build just because I figured I could get rid of heatsink whine and some other noise. Since I have installed it, I notice I get FPS drop while running CSGO, my temps aren't any better, infact they are slightly higher, and im getting a lot of performance drop. I read in one place that motherboards might throttle if the motherboard is a cheap one.... Can anyone recommend anything?

Motherboard: ASRock Z170 Pro4S LGA 1151
CPU: I7-6700k
GPU: Gigabyte G1 Gtx 1060 Gddr5 - 6Gd
RAM: HyperX Fury 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 2400
Watercooler:Corsair H110i v2
Previous cooler:ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2
If you need more info let me know.

2 fans attached to the radiator.

The GPU never spiked over 65.Which is what is has always done at most. CSGO is a cpu intensive game moreso. I saw temps up to 78 on the cpu.

the HD is a clone image of the original OS Vista HP SP2 toshiba L305-S5945. 4 gig Ram 64 bit

Its an off on problem. Currently off. ???
I was defragging and it froze when I tried to click on it. Then the cursor had no effect on the screen when I clicked. I restarted by using the start button. It did the same only worse. I did some startup scans and eventually had to use Ubuntu live disc to get on the machine where the cursor worked fine. I could not find a way to use the live disc to run scans on the HD.
I restarted several more time using the startup repair options short of full reload. It even froze trying to start in safe mode.
Finally it started in safe mode and I was able to do a disc cleaner which failed once then worked. I restarted normally and it was working. I used MWB and ADWCleaner. It worked ok fora while then froze up but this time when I started normally it worked again. I started a defrag again and left it on over night. It was frozen this morning and I shut down using the start button. It started and ran normally after. FF froze up once while watching Hulu and i had to restart the machine in the same forced way again.

IDK whats going on, its running "normally" right now. I have seen several posts about cursor and mouse problems since I got back online seeking help to diagnose this issue.

A:Cursor moves no effect when I click

You should test your HDD.
Go to Start/Search and type CMD, right click the CMD results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Command Prompt type chkdsk /R and press enter. Now type a Y for Yes and restart the computer. Check Disk will go through 5 stages, and will take a long time so do it overnight.
You can also download the ISO image for Seatools in my signature, and burn it to CD. Boot off of the newly created CD and Run the Short and Long diagnostic tests on the HDD. If either fails the HDD needs to be replaced.

well i did the stupid thing of having water around the computer..and well needless to say..it spilled....now my mouse doesn't work...can anyone help me?

A:Water and a Mouse

Of course don't try to start the PC with the mouse connected until it is completely dried out.

Unplug the mouse from the PC. Untwist the underside and take the roller-ball out. You then have a choice of leaving it in a warm place to dry out naturally, or taking a hair-dryer to it and blowing warm (not hot) air through it for 15 - 20 mins until it is dry.

Put it all back together and it should be OK, especially if it was just water. Other drinks often foul the optics.

If that doesn't fix it, junk it. Hopefully it was a cheap enough model for it not to be an expensive mistake.

Back in April of 2007, Microsoft announced a security flaw with the animated cursor, that could allow an attacker to take over a system using animated cursors. They have since released a windows update that addressed the flaw so there shouldn't be any security concern there provided you have installed SP1. That said, NEC may have disabled the cursor animation to avoid the possibility of an attack and add security to the system, regardless of Microsoft's release of a fix for the issue.

The other likely candidate is that the software you are using that has the animated cursors may not be compatible with your version of Vista. You didn't state if it was 3rd party software or if you are running x32 or x64 Vista, but many 3rd party animated cursor programs are not compatible with Vista, and particularly Vista x64.

Outside of that, I would suspect a RAM fault, faulty video drivers or a system setting issue.

I'm wondering it it's possible to use the functionalities of tablet PCs (the Tablet PC Input Panel to write and holding a left click to right click) in a non-tablet PC.

I know, it doesn't sound practical, but my Genius tablet doesn't have an option to use the Tablet PC feature, so I want to know if there's a way to "force" Tablet PC (or a third party program that lets me use the "hold the left click to right click" feature of Tablet PC), even if Windows sees my tablet as just a mouse and not a Tablet PC compatible tablet.

I have a Microsoft Mouse (Microsoft M03-00090 Wireless Optical Mouse 5000) with customizable buttons that can be set via the Mouse and Keyboard Center. In Windows 7, all worked fine, but after upgrading to Windows 10, every time I turn the computer on, or restart it, the custom mouse settings are not set. If I start the Mouse and Keyboard Center, the settings kick-in (even without changing any settings), but I have to do that each time on startup or else the settings are all set to default.

Is there a way I can get the settings to hold, or activate, when the machine is turned on or restarted?

Just a goofy phenomena that seems to be puzzling me. Each time I single click on a desktop icon, it acts like it was double clicked and opens the file/program. Recently (in the last month) my computer has started giving me a double click on a single click of the left button.  This is very irritating.
It does this with both, a USB Logitech Track Man Wheel and with a wireless HID mouse.
I have tried adjusting the settings for the mouse but that doesn't seem to have any effect.
I have AVAST antivirus.  I have run Microsoft Security Essentials, Malewarebytes Anti-Malware, Spybot search and destroy, Super Anti-Spyware and Junkware Removal Tool.
I have updated all of my drivers and used Drive Booster 3.
When I click to close a window on Firefox it will double click and minimize the browser.
This problem is active in all of my programs that I run, not just the browser.
I have Windows Vista, 64 Bit on a Dell Inspiron laptop.
Does anyone have any suggestions.
I think this has to be a software problem, but I don't know how to correct it or which software is involved..
Thank you

i received a second hand toshiba portege m400 by mail and saw that it probably has some water condensation trapped between the outer screen and the touchscreen behind it. because the screen in the upper left corner looks whitish. and the sender of the laptop said it wasn't there when he sended it. i have a picture of the trapped moisture, for those who want to see it.

so, i opened the screen by unscrewing it. and saw that most of the moisture is trapped between the outer glas screen and another layer behind it, which, i guess, is the touchscreen part. which look unreachable. these 2? layers form the upperpart of the screen.

the lcdscreen with all the electronics below that layer, form the lower part of the screen or if you will, the cover. this part is now oke. it had also some water condensation on it and i could gently wipe the little bit of moisture from that lcdscreen without trouble. that helped a little bit in this problem.

but some moisture stays trapped between that glass layer and touchscreen layer part in the upperpart of the screen/cover.

in the hope of evaporating the moisture, i left the lit a little bit open for a day, i even separated the upperpart and lowerpart of the screen. i applied some heat of a infrared lamp, from a save distance. all that didn't help.

*so, how do I remove the water condensation?*

*is there a way to lift a layer up in the upperpart of the screen to reach the moisture?*

I strongly recommend you to contact nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. talk with guys what can be done about it.

Is there a way to seperate those and reorder the drop down list so they are farther apart. It gets to be a nuisance sometimes when I am rename picture files.

A:change order in right click drop down box...?

Not an answer to your question but a still a solution of sorts.

Press F2 to bring up the rename dialog. No confusion that way

I'm a newbie, and need help. I can't click on links any links. Even on this site if I try to click on a link to any other site I can't. I don't even get a window that gives me the opportunity to open the link. I also can't click on drop down boxes or print from anywhere other than my word, it's driving me crazy.

Try downloading Java from the link below. After it installs, go to Add/Remove and remove all earlier Java programs.http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jspIf that doesn't solve your problem, it may be your security options are set too high. That is assuming that you are using IE browser. It could also be a security program on your computer is blocking script. Norton and ZA antivirus have been known for that. That you would have to troubleshoot by shutting down one program at a time from loading at startup or finding the setting that is blocking script.

A deleted, unwanted program appears whenever I right click on the start button or right click on a document.

When I highlight the program name, a window appears to search for the program to open the file...

How can I remove remnants of the program (there must be something there)...I have rebooted, and it still appears.

Thanks for any help

Spilled about 1l of water on my entire laptop...
I wiped water from it, and turned it on. The only parts that don't work: Mouse, Keyboard.
What should I do?
P.S: In the BIOS the keyboard works(and other stuff before the OS actually loads)

A:Spilled water on entire laptop, mouse and keyboard dont work.

First and foremost ...... are you SURE everything is dry inside? I spilled about a half glass of water on mine last winter and it was a couple of hours before it was dry enough for me to even try it. In my case I was lucky as everything was fine. Have you tried a system restore to a point before this happened? (I know I know... but simple things first.) An sfc/scannow will check for corrupted/bad system files and possibly repair them, have you tried that? Heres a link to a tutorial on how to do that : SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

After about 1 minute the mouse scroll and keyboard stop working until I left click mouse. Tool bar on browser also greys out but comes back after left click. Video and sound also are choppy. Not sure if this is related. Flash keeps crashing. Any ideas whats wrong? Windows 7 pro. Asus desktop. This occurs on Firefox, Chrome and IE. This seemed to start after Microsoft update and Flash updates

A:Mouse scroll and keyboard stop working until left click of mouse

Hello mpmckee,

First run Antivirus, Malware, and Spyware scans. Remove anything the programs find.

Note: if you need some suggestions on which tools to use, let me know.

Afterwards, test functionally of mouse and keyboard.

If no change, run System Restore, choose a Restore point before the issue started.

Again test behavior of mouse and keyboard.

If the issue has been resolved, go ahead and reinstall windows Updates.
