Update amount and remove item. Shopping cart.

Q: Update amount and remove item. Shopping cart.

I am (a novice and) trying to make a shopping cart for a bookstore (using visual studio and visual basic). The shopping cart page shows a gridview where all the items the customer wants to purchase is listed (the gridveiw has columns for isbn, title, price and amount). The amount column is a text box, where the user can change the amount. Under the grid view I have a button <update amount>. A click on this button is supposed to go through the gridview to see if the user has changed the amount of any of the books. If so, the price of this item(book) is to be changed (prise * amount of the item). If the amount of one book is set to 0 the row is to be deleted from the gridview. Can some one help me with the code needed to accomplish this???

At the end of each row in the gridview I have put a button <remove item>, and a click on this button is supposed to delete the selected row from the gridview. The gridview is listed on the shopping cart page with this code:

GridView1.DataSource = Session("kurv")

What code do I need to accomplish this removal of the selected item?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a (currently) simple Access database with Search form, to which I've added a multi-field filter, based on a nice bit of code I found online.

The next stage is to reproduce this form with added functionality, for issuing and receiving goods into stock.
I'd like for the user to be able to select multiple stock items, see them added to something in a "shopping cart"-style and then click a button to issue the selected items (subtract from stock) or receipt them (add to stock) and, print the details.

The way I'm imagining it, I'd add Issue Qty and Receipt Qty fields to the existing Stock search form. Anything that had been given an Issue Qty or Receipt Qty would populate a query. The query would simultaneously feed a subform, displaying the slected items & quantities for the user to see, and then buttons for Issue and Receive (or a single button, maybe) would allow the user to confirm their changes, updating the stock quantity accordingly, printing a report showing what they'd issued or receipted and emptying the query for next use.

I'm not sure if this is the best way to go about it. Perhaps rather than populating a query, it could or should be done with a sort of temporary recordset.
There might be difficulties in undoing, too. I'd need to have something in place to allow the user to either delete items from the "cart" subform or set the Issue / Receipt Qty on the main form to zero. In either case, it'd b... Read more

I downloaded CubeCart and am trying to work on it in either Dreamweaver or the File Manager on my server. Either one will work but I'm CLUELESS as to where to start.

I don't know how to put this all together and make it work and the installation instructions may has well be written in Greek. I don't know where to start...there are two header.php and two index.php and two of this and two of that and you get the drift. HELP....I need someone to walk me thru this or I may just lose my mind.

I downloaded Cube Cart cause I can *mangle* the logo easier than I can the one on osCommerce. At least I did when I was using the server I had before but that one had it laid out where I could identify which files were which...now I am on my own. This isn't a Fantasico or C-panel. Liz

First off, does your web server or web site meet the requirements for using CubeCart? PHP 1, MySQL on a Unix/Linux Server?

Ok, so I just set up a merchant account, now I need the shopping cart thing.
I have no experience doing this sort of thing, and I could use a little help getting it going.

basically I need to know:

where do I go to get a shopping cart (free would be preferable, since I already paid for the account...), and how do I integrate it into my website?

Is there somewhere I can go to just get the code so I can "copy and paste" into an html form? what language would it use? Java, php, html, etc.

I am wanting to do a shopping cart for my clothing line company. Standard buying and selling etc.. I have looked at a few options. I am not sure what my boss entirely wants but i enjoy the php/mysql options, though maybe I want ASP or something else? I have found myriads of these at vairous prices and some free? I was hoping someone here in the techsupportguy forums could give me some experience suggestions or ask me questions to determine my needs and then give a suggestion on that. If i can get away with inexpensive and highly flexable or powerful whatever software that would be great! The boss is kind of looking at cold fusion but thats not anything solid. we just want something excellent. He has had a bit of experience with it. Anyone Anyone ?

The webhost for this shopping cart site creates the codes needed to make it work on a separate page for each item. I copied the codes for each individual product and pasted them onto one page.
Each item contains a form with hidden fields that consists of the product's id # so that the shopping cart processor should know which item is being purchased when the buy button is being clicked.
However, the different products are not being recognized on the page, but rather, every buy button interprets as if the first item on the page is being purchased again and again.
Being that I'm not familiar with javascripts, I don't know how to format this page so that the buy buttons for each individual item sends the right info. One thing that I did learn is that 2 forms one 1 page cannot have the same form name so I altered the name of the 2nd form to celectvar as opposed to selectvar (the default name given by the webhost).

Following is a clipping of the scripts and forms for the 2 first products on the page.

A:Help with Shopping cart for visual basic

I don't use visual basic ... but only can give you some program idea....

on the cart screen it should have a "check box" hold the id of that item ( id should be the shopping cart id + which row in the cart)

when the "check box" is click ... and you press "Upadte" button to post..

you have the the shopping cart id and the item row value to remove it ... then refresh the screen again...

Hi guys, I'd like to learn more about integrating a shopping cart application with a merchant account.

I understand the mechanics of obtaining credit card information from the user via HTML forms and whatnot. What isn't clear to me is what I would then do with this information.

I've done some searching and all I can seem to find is tutorials on making the actual shopping cart software, which I can do myself, and links to other purchasable shopping cart software.

Can someone link me to a page or book that covers this topic in detail?

I am running XP home SP1 and IE 6. When I try to add something to a shopping cart I get this error "We're sorry, more information is needed to order this item. Please complete Step 2, then continue your order" on one site (llbean.com). On another site (victoriassecret.com) it acts like it adds it to the shopping bag, but when I view the bag it is empty.

I had SP2 installed and uninstalled it, and have the same results. I also have done the registry tweak to fool the system into thinking that IE6 is not installed and reinstalled it. I was able to add something to my LLBean shopping cart after doing that. The item was backordered, and when I went back to change my choice, it gave me the "We're sorry, more information is needed to order this item. Please complete Step 2, then continue your order" error again. I have run the latest Spybot S&D, and Adaware versions and deleted some spy/adware. Still having the problems. Yesturday the Shopping Cart on Newegg stopped working. I did have it working earlier in the day as I had compiled a list of items but when I went back later the cart was empty. I logged back in thinking it would be there but still it was empty. Now whenever I click on "Add To Cart" it takes me to the next screen saying it has added it to the cart but the $ counter in the top right corner stays at $0.00 and when clicking on the cart itself or proceeding to checkout it tells me the cart is empty. It does this whether I am logged in or not.

I tried adjusting the Cookie settings like their site advises but it didn't seem to change anything. They did suggest going into Tools, Internet Options, Security, Custom Level then scrolling down looking for Cookie options (there is no option for cookie listed there). But under privacy I found cookie options and changed it to accept all but still the problem was the same.

The weird thing is that yesturday sometime before the problem started the browser history was somehow erased. Nobody actually went through the steps and cleared the history though. The only actions that were performed between the cart working and not working were photo's being uploaded from a camera and the MyDocuments folder being accessed by another computer on the same network. The other computer on the network has no problems with Newegg's cart but this one - a laptop on a wireless network using XP and IE version 6.0 still does.

Hi all,

In the safely remove hardware menu (from clicking the icon in the task bar) I have both my internal sata hard drives listed. I'll never want to remove these so is there a way to remove them from the list?

I'm guessing it might require some registry editing but I've no idea where to start!

A:Can I remove an item from safely remove hardware list?

Actually, it might be something related to your system setup.

It sounds like in your BIOS the SATA channels that are being used for your internal drives are set to allow eSATA - and thus that capability is being shown in W7.

I don't have eSATA enabled for the 3 SATA channels I use for my internal drives, and none of my internal drives shows in the safely remove hardware list.

Take a look around in your BIOS and see if you can disable eSATA for those two ports - if you can, then W7 should no longer offer them as removable items.

Worse yet, I can't remove it - nothing happens when I Right click or Left click on it and I can't seem to locate the file in the user log on folder (Documents and Settings\default\desktop).

I recently had to remove the Trojan.Zlob spyware threats that were affecting my computer and now everything seems to be working ok.

I do however notice that Pest Capture still remains as a start up item when I do an Msconfig, however it is NOT checked.

I checked in the registry to see if I can find an item located here:
SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Run (RunOnce, RunOnceX, RunOnceService).

There was nothing there to remove as I am sure that running SmitFraudFix removed any listing for Pest Capture, Anti Vermin, Video Active X, etc.

My question is that I am simply wondering how I can permanently delete the PestCapture from the Msconfig. I know it is unchecked, but I'd also like to have it removed from the list of startup items, if possible.

Any suggestions?

Hello Everyone,

You guys helped me solved the problem on my other computer. Big thx.

I got spyware a few weeks ago and it run some programs in the Startup. After removing the spyware, I couldn?t remove the items listed in Startup page (Sytem Configuration Utility). They are not runing any more as there is no check besides it and I already removed them from the C:\Windows\Programs. But I want to remove them from the Startup under System Configuration Utility.

I did try to remove them from HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Msconfig\Startup Reg, and it worked one time. But the spyware casued these programs to run at startup again. Now the spyware is gone, but I cannot find that registry key any more.

Thank you.

A:How to remove unused item under Startup

I used this one time and it did work!

Clear Disabled Items from Msconfig Startup

To use the VBS Files: Download .vbs file and save it to your hard drive
(you may want to right click and use Save Target As).
Double click the vbs file. You will be prompted when the script is done.

It removes all disabled entries, so enable any that you want to keep
and reboot before using.
So next time before uninstalling a program re-check it first, reboot,
exit the program then uninstall.
Two others if you want to try instead. These look to be the same utility.

MSConfig Cleanup - remove disabled startup entries from SnapFiles

I have one item that I cannot get out of the recycle bin. I can't delete it and I can't restore it. I want to delete it, but even if I could restore it that would work because I could set the recyle bin properties not to be added to upon delete and then delete the file.

So, I would like advice as to how to get rid of this one item. If more information is needed, let me know.

Have you tried (free) Move On Boot:

This from their website:
"Have you ever faced a problem on moving, renaming or deleting files that are locked by your system? If this is true in your case then, look no further MoveOnBoot is the best solution for you. It enables you to perform those actions with ease that requires no hectic procedure.
When you want to delete a file, delete a file in a folder or delete a folder, simply move the file into the program and rename the files or folders that are locked, you can do all this in a breeze."

Running Windows XP
When I run msconfig and look at the startup there is an entry there that I know is bad. I can uncheck it and it won't load but I want to get it off the list completely. How can I do this? I have gone through the registry and removed the items I can find. The entry is listed as having a path of c:\windows\\\etb\pokapoka.
Within windows explorer I can not get to c:\windows\\\etb. In DOS I can get to the folder but I can't delete it because it has things in it and I can't get to the level down to delete.
Spysweeper, ad aware, spybot and PC-cillin have not fully removed this.

Doubleclick LQfix.exe and click install.
Leave the default settings. If you change them, the fix will fail.
Make sure 'Launch LQfix' is checked. After clicking finish in the install, the fix will start.
Follow the prompts on the screen.
Your system will reboot afterwards.
Please be patient after reboot, because there is a script running in the background.

There's only one item that bothers me. I have a hotsearch.com search bar on my IE toolbars, and I don't want it there. The same hotsearch thing also adds two folders (Gambling, Privacy) to my favorites everytime IE is restarted, even if I delete them. An Adware 6 scan doesn't ID this, and there's no remove program option for this in the add/remove programs section of the control pannel. I'm using Windows XP Professional.

A:How do you remove an item from a context menu?

A recommendation from a reliable source I trust:Go to the following website and scroll down to the section "Context Menus (Right Click) - Deleting entries" and follow the instructions. http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_c.htmThis will involve editing the registry...so take the usual precautions when doing so.Background reference: http://www.theeldergeek.com/windows_xp_registry.htmLouis

A:[SOLVED] How to Remove a Desktop Item

Easiest way is to find your original background pic and right click it and set it back to that.

OR, right click the desktop, click properties, click Desktop, and browse for the backgound you had and apply that (same thing really).

This is a very strange situation: The folder context menu shows multiple instances of VTSync, see screen grab. This is a legitimate program, but really has no place in the context menu. What is so frustrating is that I cannot remove it!

The item seems to get placed in the context menu when the program is installed. Earlier today, I uninstalled the program; removed all entries for it from the registry, then reinstalled the program. Prior to uninstalling, it appeared three times in the context menu, now it appears four times.

I also tried the programs 'Shell Extension View' and 'Shell Menu View', but I could find no reference to VTSync in either.

Can you please offer a suggestion for getting rid of these unwanted entries?

Hello GRoston

Try ShellMenuView to remove the unwanted context menus .

This is my first post so I apologise in advance if I have posted in the wrong place.
I have windows messenger in my quick launch bar just to the right of the start button.
Every time Windows 7 fires up messenger launches.
I don't want it in the quick launch bar.
I think it might be pinned to google if that makes sense as there is no option to unpin it from the bar only the option to pin it.
I want it off the start menu and off the quick launch bar.
Thanks in advance for any help.

A:Can't remove item from quick launch bar.

Just wanted to make sure you understand that Windows 7 does not have a quick launch bar. You can pin items to the taskbar. Being in the taskbar does not make it start automatically. I'm not sure if I understood right. To delete the item from the taskbar, right-click on it and click "unpin from taskbar".

I must have dragged and dropped it from somewhere but can't find a way to remove Edit GP. Right click just gives me open. I know i can reset my start menu with a reg hack but don't really want to. Anyway to remove this sucker? I searched everywhere and can't find the shortcut. Thanks.

A:Remove pinned start menu item

I had to use Process Monitor for this, to see what change occurs on the registry when you pin an item on the taskbar...

I found it though....You can remove it by entering this directory:

C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\StartMenu\

In there, you will find all your pinned items. You can delete Group Policy Editor shortcut and you're done.

Note: You need to open Folder Options and check "show hidden files and folders" and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" so you can navigate to that folder if you can't just type the address on the search bar

I have an uninstalled program (XTools 2.0, a GIS utility) that I cannot remove from the Windows XP (Pro SP2) Add Remove Programs list. I have tried the following methods and none have worked.

1. CCleaner --> Tools --> Delete Entry. Says it can't find the installer.
2. Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. I select XTools and press the Remove button but it doesn't actually remove it.
3. Delete Add Or Remove Programs List Entires 7.0 software utility. It doesn't even have XTools in the list so I can try to remove it.
4. Manually remove program from the Add Remove Programs list via the registry as described by Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/247501) and several other sites. I can't find XTools in that part of the registry so the info must be somewhere else.

This is more an annoyance than anything else but it now it's a matter of principle! Ok, maybe obsession but does anyone have any ideas?

This is my first post ever but have been reading lots recently and found some excellent help with a roguekit I am stuck with.

My problem is went on hols with Norton 360 running and no problems and came back to find young relative had used and computer had 84 viruses and Norton 360 would not run and could not install malwarebytes. Norton wanted ?69.95 as they said we had accepted a spoof virus program and it was not the fault of Norton.

After 6 hours later of renaming and retrying and the internet redirecting me to other sites I managed with the help of bleepingcomputer previous logs to get it down to 1 roguekit and with Norton 360 and Malwarebytes working but not deleting the last rogue kit.

Attached malwarebytes log:
