I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm using IE 8 and I'm having problems loading amazon.com website. I've dowloaded Google Chrome and I'm having the same issue.

At times the first page will load, but when I click on a link, I get a blank page. I've gone throught the various levels of tech support with my ISP, Time Warner, and they've basically said their system is working correctly and the problems is not with their network. I think they are correct since I'm able to connect with My Ipad touch through my wireless router.

Has anyone heard of this issue before?

I'm using Windows 7 and IE 8.

Check your firewall logs and Hosts file for entries blocking the site. Either as a URL or IP address. Also check the logs or lists of any other secure browsing tools you may have that manage secure browsing.

Each and every page I open on Amazon in firefox brings my browser to a halt for over a minute. It appears to be loading scripts or modules, as the tab keeps circling and stopping and circling as it's trying to load. This happens over and over repeatedly until the page finally starts working as normal. What could be causing this to happen? It's the only site that gives me an issue like this, and it's been happening for months now. Chrome handles Amazon fine.

A:Amazon in firefox - slow loading

Spinning circle - usually means a problem add on. Try running FF with add ons disabled and see if the page loads okay. If it loads okay then we know where to start looking.

How to start Firefox in Safe Mode

Also try installing this add on and see if there's any sign of obviously high memeory usage from any particular add on when you've got that page open in a tab.

Hi. I have an old Compaq laptop (says Presario A900 on it) running on Vista. A while ago, it froze, so I had to press the power button until it turned off. Now, when I turn it on it starts up normally with the black screen and the 30 secondseconds to start Windows regularly. I can log in fine, but if I click on Chrome and search something, it freezes. Sometimes I don't even get that far. I click on the Start button and the blue loading circle comes up. It doesn't do anything after that. The circle keeps going like something's loading. Occasionally it will freeze and I have to manually restart it. What's going on? Thanks.

I have windows 98 with ie6 and firefox 2 installed. My problem is that oftentimes it takes 2-3 minutes to switch from one open window to another or to open a new web page. My computer whirs and clicks forever and while it is doing this I can't do anything else ecept press alt-ctl-del to end the process and even that takes a long time to accomplish.
At first I thought it was a problem with ie6 so I installed firefox. Firefox worked fine the first few days but then it began behaving like ie6 taking forever to navigate between open windows. I tried disconnecting from the internet by turning off my dsl modem but the 'puter just kept whirring and clicking.
I ran a reg scan with cc and it reported no issues.
Any ideas?

Ok.well my ASUS laptop with Vista home premium is having some trouble.. first notice windows freezes ... next vista welcome window stays on loading.......... till I turn it off and restart in safe mode with network... Then the unthinkable ... all my pictures, all my documents, all the restore points, ALL anything that I added to this hard drive for the last 4yrs.... IS GONE!!! and now nothing is saved after I reboot.( ok Im in safe mode) I have reloaded the service pack 2... found out some drivers can not update. I looked at the event manager ... OMG that list is too long. I remember sometime last year their was an Microsoft update that wiped everything off like it was a new laptop...But I had a restore points to go back to fix that one. 2 days ago my laptop appeared to be ok. Turned it off that night and in the morning all was gone. But I am hoping the light is still on at the end of the tunnel for this hard drive.

I just recently upgraded my computer to Windows 10 but I noticed my Outlook 2010 emails have been a bit slower and then today it says loading profile when I try to open it but my emails won't open. This is not the first time that it has happened. Anyone know what it could be? I'm thinking there is something running in the background that is preventing it from opening it up.

Please note, I am typing on a DIFFERENT computer (IP address) than my other PC that has the problem - specifically a Windows 10 "Forever Loading" Problem, I believe. It is a 3 year old DELL, with Windows 10, so I cannot run the above suggested SysInfo Utility.

That said, I had an automatic regular Windows 10 update, which took forever and ever. While it seemed to be finishing; my DELL logo appeared, then I get my welcome screen and it allows me to very S-L-O-W-L-Y type my password; then my center screen wallpaper appears, but never any of my desktop icons. After much passed time, my task bar appears but no icons on it. The time appears in right hand corner of task bar, but the real time never advances. Lastly the dreaded spinning blue circle remains in the blank Task Bar. I have tried unplugging overnight, restarting, and the same thing. The Windows start button appears on task bar, but nothing works, because nothing has loaded on task bar or on my desktop. I have left it on overnight in hopes of a wishful escape of this endless loop it is stuck in.

Checking online, I have tried various suggested processes (getting to Task Manager, trying to restart explorer.exe, running new task (msconfig), tried to get to Safe boot to reboot, but cannot do any of those things due to the dreaded spinning blue circle. I simply can't get anywhere except to Task Manager, but nothing actually works within there either. Help Please?

So i got this Dell Laptop to fix...weird thing is

it will be stuck on the load-up screen for 15-20 minutes or more, then logging in will take another 10-15 minutes...

I tried looking into the system configuration through msconfig

disabled most of the startup programs down to the two most important ones
also played around with the "system services", but no luck...both will still startup the laptop really slow...

it has a 1gb ram and all updates/drivers are installed...

i also tried swapping the hdd with another laptop, still the same thing. I do not suspect it to be a bad hdd

but even after swapping the hdd, it will still take a very long time to load up and login....

occasionally the explorer.exe will shoot up to 50% CPU usage without me doing anything...

i believe these two are related in some way...

any ideas...thanks in advance

Could I possibly be infected? I am having problems with accessing any and all webpages. At first, I thought it was just a Mozilla issue, but the same problems occur in Google Chrome and IE. I will type in a URL and press enter and sometimes it will take forever to load, and if I click on the link again, it will bring it up instantly. It seems as if it is stalling. And other times, if I click on the link for a second time, it will say "done" on the bottom left hand side, but it will certainly not be done! I have been having this problem for weeks now and it is driving me crazy!
I have run Spybot, Adaware, Spyware Doctor, Malwarebytes, my AVG antivirus scan, and the free Symantec one on the website. Nothing has been found wrong!
I tried restoring my computer to 4 different restore points but they were all unsuccessful.
I tried uninstalling Zone Alarm, thinking that was causing the problem, but nothing changed. I had k9 web protection on my computer, but uninstalled it weeks ago and I am still having problems. I have the same problem running my wireless or using an ethernet cable; on my network and at a friend's house.
Please help!

About a week and a half or so ago loading media files takes forever. Whenever I click on a MP3 or AVI file it takes about 30 secs before it loads. In the meantime I get a Windows Explorer has stopped responding dialog and I can either shut it down or wait for it to load.

I've run Spybot, Adaware, and installed ZoneAlarm. I keep getting a message that my computer is trying to access another comp on my network.

I've also tried restoring to an older restore point with no luck. I have no idea what may be causing this. Any help would be massively appreciated.

So i'm having an issue where my cover photo and profile picture won't change on my laptop (aka lockscreen). The pictures currently on my lockscreen were my old cover photo and profile picture on facebook, and have since changed on facebook. I uninstalled and then re-installed facebook. I made sure profile sync was turned off and everything. Now, I changed my profile picture for microsoft, and that worked, except on the lockscreen page it is the same old facebook picture.
With the lockscreen wallpaper, it will not let me change it at all. In the personalization settings, it will let me browse for a picture, but will not load the preview.
I have tried everything. I've spent two days on the forums trying to figure this out. I have done the sfc /scannow several times. I have checked for virus. I checked to see if the new update messed with it, and I couldn't find the exact update everyone else was referring to; it didn't exist on my computer. The only thing that worked at all was when I did the registry editor, and disabled the lockscreen altogether. (computer>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>POLICIES>MICROSOFT>WINDOWS) I didn't have a personalization file, so I made one and added the NoLockScreen option and set the hexadecimal value to 1 to turn the lockscreen off.

Now the issue, I would like to have a lockscreen. I do not care is it is my facebook profile and cover picture at all, I am just getting very aggravated by the constant picture that I have to see every ti... Read more

IE, Opera, FF Chrome, all have problems loading the same websites while other sites load right away.

Just for an example... racerxonline.com will not load on any browser, but only on one of my windows 7 pc. My second win7 and linux pc work fine using the same router and all three computers are hard wired to the router as I don't have or use WIFI.

Here are the steps I have taken to resolve the issue with no success over the last couple of days:

1 Deleted and reinstalled all browsers with no add ons.
2 ipconfig /release..... ipconfig /renew
3 I use ccleaner all the time
4 swapped ethernet cables with the two other computers
5 swapped ethernet ports on router that other two computers work fine with
6 checked all start up programs in start up folder and all basic nothing new or odd
7 ran full scan of malwarebytes, awdcleaner, avast, windows defender on and updated

As the title says bringing up a YouTube page doesn't load all thumbnails including my own in the top left and users/videos ones. Page looks like this:

This happens in Chrome and Firefox. It started about a week ago apparently when some script froze and I forced it to stop running. It's really annoying since it usually stops comments loading and videos too sometimes. I did try wiping everything and reinstalling FF if you're wondering.

Sorry if this is the wrong subforum to post in, not sure where else to post.

My problem is windows 7 takes a long time to go past the welcome loading screen when it's loading the OS. (FYI- Win7 came preloaded when I purchased my laptop)It takes about 5-10 mins to finally load onto desktop.Never took so long before up until last night.Once at the desktop...I can't open my programs like normal each time it freezes/lags/slow as molasses if you will .Then I'm able to open up a program and it continues...Sometimes the screen blacks out and never returns so I reboot.Whatever trojan/virus is present manages to disable McAfee protection each time I start up.I would have to go in and enable it each time I'm logged on.Steps I've taken:***I've tried booting up via safe mode (same thing happens).***I've ran the startup repair (could not detect a problem).***I've Cleared out my temp files.***I've Defrag my laptop.***I've ran spybot search & destroy(found the following Doubleclick,Win32.Agent.ws,Zedo)***I've done a system restore to a point where my laptop worked like charm.***I've ran full MBAM (safe mode) scan results...(no malicious viruses detected).***I've ran full McAfee (safe mode) scan results( no viruses found).I wanted to see what could be done first, before I attempt a system recovery which is at the bottom of my totem pole, don't want to lose my data. I'm not sure if this is the right place to come to for this. For the last few days, I have not been able to access amazon.co.uk or amazon.com. My housemate (who I'm on the same wireless network as) can access it on his computer, but when I try on mine, I just get redirected to my Sony Vaio google search page saying it can't find it. I've done three scans for viruses etc and got nothing. I've reinstalled IE7 and all that's changed now is that when I try and access amazon, it now comes up as Cannot display page, so it's not even redirecting me to the Sony Vaio google seach page anymore.

I recently ran a couple firewall tests, shields up and auditmypc etc. They're both coming up with a port that's open. I think they called it Tram. It says this port is commonly used for trojans. But my biggest concern is that it is open and I would like to shut it. I have searched my firewall completely for port control options and cannot find the solution anywhere. It also said that my computer responded to Ping (ICMP Echo) Requests. Buy my firewall says that this is blocked, so I do not know how it is still responding. If anyone has had any similar experiences with these firewall test sites, because I don't know if it is my computer or the sites themselves. A:Fault Bucket???

As I understand it...fault buckets are basically program debug mistakes which cause the system/program to crash.See http://phorums.com.au/archive/index.php/t-210235.htmlWhen it happens on my system, I just assume that the program has damaged files, needs updating, or needs reinstalling. If it's a known program that I can't update and which I know has a history of being troublesome, I just ignore the error...since the resolution would probably involve removing the program. If I had a large number of these, due to the same application...I would remove the program permanently.Louis

A:what is a fault bucket?

A fault bucket identification number is a number assigned by the system to identify specific types of errors usually this correlates to problems showing in the Event Viewer.
Also this identifcation number is what is used by Microsoft in order to identify a particular program error when you send an error report.

Get a load of this. I rebooted my computer this evening, got a message that one app was still running that was keeping it from rebooting. Reboot anyway? Indeed and only to get an exciting blue screen with three options. One was F8 which did nothing and the Escape which puts me into the BIOS.
When I go into Advance, I see a SATA Mode Selection. Hitting the Enter button, I see AHC1 is presently highlighted. There are two other options, one being IDE and the other RAID. Should I select one of those or do you feel my SSD has totally gone to pieces?

A:Samsung SSD appears to have kicked the bucket

The SATA mode selection should be set to AHCI, unless you have more then one SSD or HDD in a RAID Array then you would choose RAID. IDE is for the older IDE HDD's and running older OS's like XP.
In the Bios, on the Main screen it should list your Drives by manufacturer on your computer. Is your SSD showing in the Bios? If not, the drive may have become unplugged. Check the SATA data cable is plugged in tightly to the SSD and to the motherboard SATA port 1. And the power plug from the PSU is still plugged in tight to the back of the SSD. Make sure the SATA port is Enabled in the Bios. Try a different Data cable, try a different Power Plug from the PSU, try a different SATA port on the motherboard.
You also can remove the SSD and attach it to a USB Adapter, Dock or Enclosure with a power adapter. To see if it is recognized on another computer.

When I was directed to the Event Viewer and followed some steps, I obtained a faault bucket, which is:Oxc4_E5_VRF-TfFsMon+65d5+IDI+Oea13dbf-O. When I came to Microsoft Knowledgebases, I expected to find a table to which I could match my fault bucket and finally determine what is the problem with drivers and/or which driver is problematic. I can nothing like that.
Can anyone intrepret the code or refer me to some reference that would allow me to do so? Thank you for your time and willingness to help.

Hi all,

I have Windows 32bit Vista Home Basic on a Compaq Presario V6000.

I am usually getting the following error after an hour or so after the laptop is turned on. The screen simply goes black and no response after that. All i can do is to hard boot again. I got this description from the event viewer tool in vista.

Fault bucket 0xD1_VRF_epfwtdi+3e71, type 0
Event Name: BlueScreen
Response: Microsoft Windows Error Reporting
Cab Id: 0

Please go to the C:\Windows\Minidump directory and zip up the contents of that folder. Then upload the .zip file in your next post. We'll have a look at the dmp files and will see if that gives us any information.

Have you checked to ensure that the laptop fans are running? Have you blown out the vents with compressed air (don't us a vacuum or an air compressor - it'll damage the components)?

Have you recently changed anything on the system? Do you recall anything unusual that stands out in your mind?
