Sometimes when a write a message, whether is an E-mail or post on a forum, my cursor keeps jumping back or ahead on the page. I start writing a few letters from a word and the rest of that word finishes somewhere else in the text.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

somebody please help me!!!!!

A:[SOLVED] help! please !computer acting crazy after fixin exporer

Hello dex3844

I think this will be the result of some infection. It might be because explorer was deleted, or the infection might still be present.

Run the file associations in the links below.
http://www.dougknox.com/
Select ?Win XP Fixes? on the left hand side
Select ?Restore Default File Associations Easily? (right hand side)

All instructions are on the page for you

Select the BAT file which will restore all of the "default" associations that XP ships with

If local disk C is still not opening properly, run this fix
Scroll down to
?Frequently used Tips & fixes for Windows XP?
Click ?Drive association fix for XP?

Download the file, double click it and answer ?Yes? to the import prompt.

If you still have problems after that you need to seek help to clean up your system
Please read ?Virus/Trojan/Spyware Removal Help ? and follow the instructions very carefully; then, post all the requested logs and information in the Virus Help Forum
Please ensure that you create a new thread in the Virus Help Forum; not back here in this one.

Please be patient, as the Security Team Analysts are usually very busy; one of them will answer your request as soon as they can.

Hi!

I recently uninstalled applications on my computer that I didn't want (to improve performance) and installed some that I did want. Well now when I try to open Outlook 2007 the program begins opening (I see the main Outlook window) then a bubble pops up from the system tray icon that says "A data file did not close properly the last time it was used and is being checked for problems. Performance might be affected while the check is in progress." then Outlook suddenly closes. Recently Windows Desktop Search was automatically installed on my system (and I have no idea how it got there) so I uninstalled it and it said several Microsoft programs would be affected (including Outlook, I think, since it included a search bar to search for email with WDS) but I uninstalled it anyway. Could this be the problem? How do I fix this? I reinstalled WDS but Outlook still does not open. I even tried repairing Outlook by going into add/remove programs and using the repair feature but with no success.

Hi all,I've recently inherited my brother's computer and it seems to have some sort of virus/trojan/spyware problem that I can't remove using CWShredder, Spybot, AdAware, or McAfee Virus scan. For starters, the IE homepage is set on "about:blank" and I can't change it. There's also a folder called "links" that's been added to my favorites and it comes back no matter how many times I delete it. Finally, whenever I open IE it does one of two crazy things: 1) my CD drives open and close and I'm taken a red screen that says "DANGER: SPYWARE", with the results of a supposed full system scan that shows I have spyware infections and tries to get me to try something callled AdwareDelete; or 2) even more disturbingly, a warning message is displayed which says - WarningSystem detected illegal access to your computer.Your computer is infected by "W32.HLLP.Spreda.B.sp4 v2.016" password-stealing virus.Somebody with IP address 43.150.34.25 (Nigeria) is trying to get illegal access to your computer through port 443. Your privacy and the security are in danger. To get info on how to remove this virus click "OK"Following is my HijackThis log. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hello Engstarr and welcome to the BC malware forum. It appears that this computer is still using the Army's netowrk system for internet connections. Is that the case? If not, we will want to remove those entries.i don't know if it will work or not but you can go to the link below and try to remove Symantec Anti-virus manually:http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-s...src=bar_sch_namOk, now let's get to the problems at hand. let's use a different scanner to look for some things that I think are present but are not showing in the HijackThis log.Download WinPFind.zip and unzip the contents to the C:\ folder.Start in Safe Mode Using the F8 method:Restart the computer. As soon as the BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the boot menu appears.Use the arrow keys to select the Safe Mode menu item.Press the Enter key.Locate the c:\winpfind\winpfind.exe file and double-click it to run it. Now click the Start Scan button to begin the scan. When the scan is complete reboot normally and post the WinPFind.txt file (located in the WinPFind folder) back here so I can review it.OT

This whole situation confuses me greatly. It started out with my installing the latest version of aol 9.0 security edition and downloading the mcafee software to go with it.After I dled that stuff, my internet stopped working completely. IE won't work, aol won't work.I first tried scanning for viruses. I had about 10000 viruses.I deleted them all. Still no internet. I deleted aol next. Still no internet. Then I deleted mcafee. Still no internet. I've tried repairing it, restarting my router, flushing the dns cache, checking everything I could possibly think of and still no internet. The weird part about it is in the bottom right corner of my comp where my icons are its shows internet being connected however it does not work. No firewalls are on or anything that could block out internet.

Specs:
DSL Internet
Router connected
Windows xp sp1
Anything else, just ask.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me!!!

A:Internet acting crazy

Though the icon in the notification area may show a connection it may not actually be connected. I would suggest that you first verify that you are connected to the router by logging in to it.

Please let me know if this helps or if you need further assistance.

freezes and I have to call up task manager and restart the system.

When I play the cd in the cdrw player all the tracks appear in random order. what also is strange is that if I just let the cd play in the stereo or cdrw it will play all of the songs, but with the elasped time counting form 99:59 going down. I know that this is a lot of problems but what the heck happened. Anybody please help me.

A:burner acting crazy

I'm not much into the music, But I have been told by more than one person that the best results for music copies is by recording to the hard drive first then putting it back onto a disk ??? Maybe that will help or not.....

I have tried to find a similar problem here but don't see anything that fits.

I have a friends machine and it takes about ten minutes too boot up to the point where the desktop icons are there. I worked on this machine and cleaned it up and had it running great in June. I have a backup on an external HDD from that time (june). Now the device manager icon is missing in control panel and I can't get the thing to connect to my wireless network. I can't find the wireless networks on the networks connections. I have checked and verified that the switch for the wifi card is on. But there are several things just "missing" Got me baffled.

Hi! This is my first time posting but I have been doing a lot of reading so I might be able to talk somewhat intelligently on the subject of things... but forgive my overall lack of knowledge - I'm trying to learn! Hope this is in the right thread!

So my mom logged on the computer this morning and the desktop was completely changed bright read with a swirled symbol in the middle and it had some link written on the bottom of it having to do something with downloading a program to help get rid of spyware. (I'm not sure what it was at the moment because by using "SpyBot" I was able to get rid(?) or stop whatever was doing that - forgot to write it down. It also started adding all these programs to the desktop, all the adds were popping up, and it was trying to tell us to download all these different programs to help protect the computer. It always was saying that there was a virus that was going to be able to get into our accounts and get passwords etc. Unfortunately my mom clicked on a pop up - thinking it was an update to a program we already have - that said you could get some kind of software update for free, but of course it kept leading her to all this other stuff trying to get her to buy things. I've been running "Avast!" and it has found a couple viruses and I told it move them to "the chest". She woke me up and I did the best I could to stop everything. What should I do next? What I have looked at, it seems I should download &q... Read more

A:Monitor acting CRAZY!! help!!!

Hi and welcome to TSG.

Has it been like this since you had the machine or is it something that has happened recently?

Do you have access to any other monitor / LCD that you could test on it? Perhaps borrowing one from a friend or neighbour to confirm that the problem is (or isn't) the LCD itself.

Ive done a search for that monitor number but can't seem to find anything. What is the make / model?

Does the monitor have more than one input? If so you could try changing it either with the cable or it may have an 'input' select button on the front. This shouldn't be a problem as it should default to whichever it is detected a signal from, but worth a shot.

I'm usually pretty good at solving my own computer problems, but lately it's been driving me CRAZY!!!!!
I have Windows XP on my computer. My husband children and I all have our own desktops. For the last few days my desktop won't play any sound. My husbands will and so will my kids'. When i go into my control panel and try to see if it is muted or adjust the volume it says it doesn't even detect speakers. Yet it is fine on the other desktops.
I tried to do a system restore to when they were working fine, but it won't do a system restore. I've tried three different dates and won't do it.
I also have a pop-up blocker, but have been getting all kinds of pop-ups lately.

Is this a virus problem? I have Norton's 2005 and Ad-aware and have run both of them, they say everything is fine.

Can anyone help?

Hi-

For the past week, my computer has been acting weird...running very slow, lots of pop-ups, not loading programs properly, only allowing me to run 1-2 programs at a time, freezing up frequently...I found this forum in hopes that someone can help me...I'm completely overwhelmed. I really appreciate it!

I ran Ad-Aware SE Personal, then I ran Housecall Trend Micro Virus Scan. These are the viruses that were found and unable to be cleaned:

BKDR IRCBOT.A
TROJ.SWIZZOR.Q
TROJ.APROPOS.DLL
BKDR.DDI.A
BKDR WSDOOR.S

It found and cleaned a malware WORM_BAGLE-2 WORM_BAGLE.J WORM_AGOBOT.BP WORM_BAGLE.VBKDR_WOOTBOT.I

Clean failed: WORM_BAGLE.U TROJ_BDI.A

A:AHH! My computer is acting crazy...

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that Display the contents of System Folders' is checked. Windows XP's search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that Search system folders, Search hidden files and folders, and Search subfolders are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer. After we are finished with your log file and verified that it's clean, you may turn it back on and create a new restore point.

A:motherboard acting crazy

I am guessing when you say you press the "start button" are you talking about power button on your case, not "Start" button as in, Windows? Right?

Sounds like the "default" BIOS settings are not right, overclocked or not. Sounds like you just need to set everything, not to defaults or to failsafe, but to "correct" settings.
This would be multiplier and RAM CAS speeds etc...

Taking 35 seconds to show you the post screen would be that the system is having trouble detecting everything.
You'll have to go into BIOS and check that the settings are right. Or at least that they are all AUTO.

good luck

Hi i really need some help, my pc has been doing all kinds of weird crap over the last couple of days. On a few occasions, it would just turn off out of no where, I restarted the thing and it told me that there was no hard drive to boot from. I used to bios to auto detect the hard drive and it said there was nothing there.

I unplugged the sata cable and the power, then plugged the hard drive back in and then it started normally - only to pull the same crap again half a day later. I decided to re-install Vista, and then my dvd-rom stopped working as the bios told me there was no connection, plus the physical eject button did nothing. So I unplugged the dvd-rom, plugged it back in, and it worked.

So I reinstalled Vista, and the PC was incredibly slow, I couldn't even right click on the "my computer" icon cause the computer would take years to load. So I re-installed Vista again.. this time the pc seemed fine, but when I reinstalled my audio drivers, I got the blue screen of death. I have no idea what is going on.

The only new hardware I had installed was a 500gb HD and I tried out the windows 7 beta using the new HD and then it all screwed up like 2 days later. If anyone has any suggestions please help me out.

Brad, welcome to TSG. I'm Liz and while you wait for your log to be read you need to do a couple of things.

First, you have an outdated HiJack This log. You need to go to http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=3155 and download the newest version, please.

Next, you are running hijack this out of a temporary directory on your desktop. Can you please create a folder in My Documents and call it Hijack (or something similar). Then extract hijack this into the folder you have created and run it from there. The reason for this is that Hijack this backup files may be deleted if it is being run from a temporary folder.

Then re-run it and post the newest log. Liz

Hello,The main problem with your computer is the fact that you have installed more than one Antivirus and Firewall. No wonder you are having problems. You have Zonealarm Firewall. Norton with Firewall Monitor Service and McAfee. Also, I see you are still using an outdated version of Ewido. Ewido has been updated to AVG Antispyware. Rather than giving you extra protection, this can actually give problems because of incompatibility issues, can even cause BSODs and decrease the reliability of it seriously! Also, it causes a serious system slowdown, connection problems etc etc.I would strongly advise you to only have one Anti-Virus with the Auto-Protect feature running at any one time!If you decide to only keep one Anti-Virus installed, you should uninstall the other(s) through the Add or Remove Programs option in Control Panel.

I restarted again and it started up, but did not load the patches (computer had to download them again). Every time I restart, it does the same thing. It will also restart periodically.
I have a basic system with nothing out of the normal running Windows 7 and I have the updated definitions for Norton 360. I was able to do a full system scan and it did not catch anything outside of cookies. I am still receiving the same errors.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Ron

Install and run a full scan with Malwarebytes,
in Safe Mode if necessary.

Next check condition of System FIles using SFC -SCANNOW Command if necessary running SFC -SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot.

If this doesn't help work through all the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 starting with Clean Boot and Hardware tests.

Make your Repair CD now in case you lose boot: System Repair Disc - Create.
If so Troubleshoot Windows 7 Failure to Boot

As of an hour ago, all new incoming messages appear as blank messages. And, if I compose a new message, the cursor appears very tiny and does not advance if I try to compose a new message.

If I look at messages received before this started, most appear blank but a few do look normal.

Thanks for any help!!!

Popups that say what? What is your default printer? Are you clicking the link on the page for a printable view? Most webpages are not printer-friendly.

Hi guys, my keyboard is constantly turning on and off the shift key on its own in an unpredictable manner. It makes typing extremely annoying and interferes with operating windows on my laptop.

Not sure if it's the laptop hardware itself is the issue or something else like a virus etc, because the problem is replicated using the on-screen keyboard and external keyboard as well.

I've ran an Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus scan and everything seems to be OK. Any help or advice will be highly appreciated. The laptop is a LEnovo Thinkpad E420, thanks.

A:Laptop keyboard is acting crazy

Could be due to sticking keys. First thing I'd suggest is to turn the computer upside down and firmly tap the underside to try dislodging debris which might be under the keys. Laptop keyboards are capable of catching lots of unwanted treasures inside.

Hi all there i have a cisco aironet card cb21AG, running on the ATheros chipset AR5212A. Its a PCMCIA card i use a Laptop

this card works beautifully on linux, but on windows if i try the original driver the system just becomes sluggish and the mouse stops moving and finally hangs.

if i use the downloaded drivers from Cisco the card connects to the Access point for about 1 minute and then connection drops.

I have tried the information posted on this site at http://www.techspot.com/vb/all/wind...2-Wireless-Cards-to-Work-with-Windows-XP.html

But this information also did not help, i tried various drivers from driverguide.com also but none helped.

Any help would be appreciated please.

My config is - Acer 2403 laptop 1.5 gigs of ram, 40gb hdd Windows XP SP2 with built in BroadCom WiFi which is disabled.

Do reply.

regards

Hey i just wanted to know how to fix a problem with my internet browsers. I have Windows Vista and i use both Firefox and Internet Explorer. I just wanted to know how to fix my internet browsers. When i click on them they go directly at top speed to the home page but when i try going elsewhere they show on the address bar the location but they never go there. The loading bar only get to about 40% and never moves anymore. The browser just doesn't go anywhere but the home page. Also with internet explorer i keep getting a pop up window about antiviral programs and they just wont close. With firefox i have to re-install the software anytime i want to use the internet and then i cant close the internet because if i close everything i go back to the problem. i have scanned my computer with McAfee and Windows Defender countless of times but nothing happens everything appears to be normal. This started happening one day when i was adjusting my firewall and ending some processes but on my firewall i reset the defaults and i restarted my computer and nothing happened. Also i have reset everything on both browsers but nothing seems to happen.

A:Internet Browsers Acting Crazy

It seems to have started with the spyware. Thorough scanning is needed.

Scan the computer with antispyware and also optimize the browsers. You can follow the steps for browser optimize on http://computers-quickfixes.blogspot.com/
Also on this link there is info to re-register the dll files from varun.notlong.com.
