Yoga C930 and Y740 screens tints red and brightness goes down

Q: Yoga C930 and Y740 screens tints red and brightness goes down

My C930 screen randomlyl tints red and the brightness level goes way down. To fix it I go to display settings and change the scaling. That fixes it, so I then change the scaling back to what I had. Is this a hardware problem? The problem also occures on my Y740 notebook. It's very annoying. I have all the latest updates installed. Both systems are running the latest Windows 10 Insider build. This problem does not occur on other systems I have that run Insider builds.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I noticed when i watch netflix or other platforms, the display changes (brightness/contrast changes so the scenes appear redder) and almost as if the someone is switching the lights on and off in the actual show. But on other displays such as my phone, the colors are fine. I tried changing my battery plan, turning off the adjusting brightness, and disabling settings in the intel graphics settings. Nothing seems to do the trick! super distracting to watch a show and see the whole screen flicker every few seconds.

I updated my two Yoga laptops this wee on two different days. I noticed that after the update my yoga mouse couldn't pair (connect) to each computer.  There was no issue before the update. Because it happened with both computers, I suspect there is an issue with the update. I came to the Forum and the new support Lenovo system to see if others have the same issue but I don't see any post related to this topic nor an updated driver for the Yoga Mouse. Are you having the same issue? Did you solve it? How?

I have looked at all recent (2019) topics and so far none have fixed my issue. I just purchased a C930 and it looked much brighter in store than it does at home. My screen brightness is maxed out. I tried taking power saving mode off, using Lenovo Vantage--including checking for updates, and nothing has worked. If this is as bright as it can go, I'll have to switch over to another brand, which is something I definitely don't want to do. ANY help is appreciated so I can keep the computer! Also, whites appear to be offwhite because of brightness issue.

So after restarting the computer, the screen suddenly brightened. I'll leave this open for the moment to make sure it stays brighter, but hopefully this will help a new buyer and their issue of this.

Hi, I am looking for a laptop with a 4K screen. According to the specs, the X1 Carbon Gen 7 and X1 Yoga Gen 4 will have 51W battery. Does that mean even they will get the latest cpu (which some said there is not much different), they will have shorter battery life than the current Yoga C930 which has 60W battery? https://www.ultrabookreview.com/24380-2019-lenovo-thinkpads/https://www.ultrabookreview.com/24458-lenovo-yoga-c930-review/

Hello there, I need help please! I can't fix the screen brightness. It appears to be stuck on full brightness which draws my battery life quickly and hurts my eyes during nights. The brightness button in the action center is missing, there is no brightness slide bar in the display setting nor in control panel, and brightness fn buttons in the keyboard are not working as well. When I click on the battery icon, there is a brightness button next to the battery saver button but also not working (not even clickable).I searched online and I tried:- updating/reinstalling/rolling back display drivers- resetting pc (reinstalling windows)- many other little repairs College is starting soon and I really need my battery life and I will be studying on my laptop in late hours so this brightness issue is a big trouble for me

My screen brightness using FN+F11/F12 and also in the advanced power settings slider won't adjust the screen to anything other than brightness and minimum or brightness to 100% when I move the slider.  It shows the percentage moving up and down, but the screen stays 100% until I'm on the lowest setting,  then it goes right to minimum.  I received a bunch of Lenovo updates on the first Wednesday of this month and I've had several issues since then, I tried reverting back to previous drivers, but it made no difference, so I'm back on the latest drivers.

Hi, I noticed that when I took the laptops out from a computer bag and immediately flipped them over into a tablet, the login screen showed up with a prompt to enter the password. However, virtual keyboard did not show up. I had to turn the laptps to laptop mode, entered the password and then flipped them back to tablet for the machines to function. This has happened to both my Yoga 730 15" 4K and Yoga C930 4K. Why? Perhaps it is not the virtual keyboard not showing up but the touch screens did not respond? Is this a common issue for the Yoga line?

The Yoga C930 is usually around the same price or more expensive, but the yogadays promotion right now made the base model $200 cheaper even with 2 years on-site warranty. Hello everyone! So after going back and forth which laptop i wanted i finally ended up getting a Yoga C930 which feels MUCH better compared to the 730 i had for about a day. The only concern i have for it right now is the fan noise is noticeable. I updated all of the drivers and did all of the windows updates, but it seems the fan is much more audible compared to the 730 i had. (I used the windows app and Driver Easy to do this) It's not entirely annoying but i do notice it. I also notice the laptop tends to get a bit warm. I know its only been a few hours but still its something i've noticed.  This is the exact one i purchased from Best Buy I've also noticed the Dolby Atmos Speaker System app apparently isn't compatible with my device? Also looking if anyone has recommendations on which usb c dongle to use so I can connect extra USB, display, and memory card reader? Some of the ones I?ve found on amazon don?t exclusively list if it works on the yoga c930

Hello, I recently purchased a Yoga C930 (less than a week ago).  I had a few screen glitches and just thought it was normal for a new computer that hasn?t really run yet but today I turned it off and now it will not turn back on.  If I press the power button, the keyboard backlight turns on for about a second and sometimes the fan turns on but then it immediately turns back off.  This repeats itself every five seconds until I hold the power button and it turns off again.  Has anyone had a similar issue or know a possible solution?  I have tried to reset but there is no physical Nova button and I cannot access the Nova menu since the computer does not get that far when turning on.

I purchased a Lenovo Yoga c930 last week and it got delivered today. I have been experiencing issues with the sleep and power options. As soon as I click the button to eject the pen, the laptop goes into sleep mode where I have to sign in again. The situation gets worse because sometimes the laptop would shut down randomly when the pen is ejected out or it is inserted back into the laptop. Does anyone have a solution for this issue or anyone faced a similar issue? I have checked the power options and I have set the power and sleep option as never.

I recently purchased the Yoga c930 to mainly draw on the go and do artwork in various apps and programs (mainly Photoshop, SketchBook, and Krita). However, this 2 in 1 is unable to download the wacom feel it driver ( I get a message saying that the wacom driver is not compatiable with the computer/tablet, which is wierd because the pen uses wacom aes technology) and I am having trouble with getting pressure sensitivity to work in almost everything I have tried to draw in. I even tried to change setting within the programs themselves, but the only one that really worked was Photoshop. Krita and Sketchbook still have no pressure sensitivity. There is also a Lenovo Pen Settings control panel for pressure sensitivity, but it does not really seem to make a difference in sensitivity when I change the settings there. Any suggestions as to how to get the pressure sensitivity to function properly on this computer would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to have to return the laptop and get the Yoga 720 13" becuase this computer is really nice otherwise, but I'm starting to think that may be the only option if I want to have a better drawing experience.

Hi! I bought a new Yoga C930 in July from Besy Buy, went off without a hitch. Saturday, I noticed the pen stopped charging. Looking in the silo, I noticed a golden contact was missing, which explains the lack of charging. I went to Geek Squad and said they would need to take 2 or 3 weeks to repair the contacts. I was thinking, if this is a hardware defect, won't the contacts just break again? I PROMISE I didn't do anything to cause the contact missing, so if it's just normal use, won't it happen again? Is it worth sending in for repair?  Many forums have talked about the C930 charging pen not working, yet no one has posted any resolutions. Either it would take months to fix, or Lenovo couldn't help.  TL;DR: My pen silo is broken like other people's has been. Should I bother sending it in for repairs, or should I just return it under warranty and move away from this product?

Hey all,Whenever I try running any sort of art program such as Krita or Open Canvas 7, turn the laptop screen over and rotate the laptop to portrait mode, the left half of the screen becomes unusable for pen. Whenever my pen (Lenovo Active Pen 2, and the default pen in the garage) start drawing in that area, the pen line immediately jumps diagonally upward and creates peaks. Is there anything I can do to fix this? This doesnt occur when in landscape rotation , only when in portrait. I tried using Paint Tool SAI, but that never even registered my inputs. Why does the rotation break these programs?

The pen that comes along with the Lenovo Yoga C930 isn't working on my laptop. The battery shows full and I barely ever use the pen but I have many plans of starting to use it. It really saddens me that I left an HP laptop for a Lenovo just to come to this problem. It has only been 1 month since I've bought this laptop and I barely use the pen but then it doesn't work anymore. There was a time where I didn't charge the pen for a whole week but I put it back and didn't touch it ever since. It's impossible that anything could have happened to the pen because I left it in a drawer. The touch screen works perfectly fine.... I don't know what to do and I am really really sad/disappointed. I need help with this if anyone can let me know of anything I can do or what's wrong?

I have a brand-new Yoga C930 2-in-1 with a 1TB SSD and 16 GB RAM, which I'd like to run Ubuntu Linux on. I can't manage to boot from a USB (type A) pen drive yet, though. I managed to enter the BIOS (via this hint) and the "Boot from USB" option is "Enabled". When I exit the BIOS, though, saving the changes, having the USB pen drive plugged-in into the USB-A slot, Windows is booting up just normal. No USB boot happens, no boot menu is shown. Also, the usual pressing of buttons such as F2, F11, F12 or Del doesn't result in anything being shown from the BIOS. How do I boot from a USB drive then? Obviously, when there is a related option in the BIOS, it should be possible, shouldn't it?

So i have a Yoga c930 with 8gb ram and an i7 8550u. And i also have some old linux OS's on my USB thumb drive. I can successfully boot to my desktop pc from that same drive. That pc supports both UEFI and legacy, and since the OS on the thumb drive can only boot through legacy i cannot seem to boot it on the Yoga C930. I've updated to the latest bios (8GCN32WW) and i've tried to both disable secure boot, and intel trust platform technology. Both unsuccessfully, and both disabled at the same time. Is it just not possible to boot from a legacy drive, or am i doing something wrong? Best regards, Mads.

Have a new Yoga C930 and the edges are sharp and cutting into my palms. Is this a defect or perhaps a design flaw? Using a palm rest/roll is not a solution. Can the edges be fixed or is there a type of case or cover that Lenovo can provide to cover the edges?

A:Yoga C930 sharp edges

I put a vinyl cover on my. On Amazon look for vinyl skins. They are about 30 bucks, but they come off with no sticky back and have prevented two serious scratches on my other computer, so I use it for protection. If you place it a little lower, the vinyl will cover the edges and it won't be so sharp. However, there is a hard shell cover from iPearl mCover again, on Amazon that I insist on purchasing for all of our computers. The problem is, the company doesn't release these for about 6 months after the new model comes out...So I wait patiently.I wasn't going to put a skin on my new C930 because I love the color and look, but I had to to protect the computer from that palm mark you get when using it.

Been going along fine. Updated a new battery f/w and was successful. Opted to installed OneKey Optimizer to calibrate the battery after the battery f/w update. However after install of OneKey Optimizer now I get a BSOD. I cannot restore from Acronis backups (externally), I cannot use the Win10 Repair PC option as every avenue takes me down the Bitlocker Recovery Key (to get going again) path. I didn't know this was enabled on a new PC and there's nothing about a key or password stored anywhere. Now it's a paperweight. I've seen similar when a system change is made with encryption running. There was a way to correct or change something in the UEFI/BIOS settings I thought. This was with another brand of PC though. Anyway to get past this even if I have to reset and lose everything?

Its set usb boot to enable .And ive turned off secure boot. Please help!

A:Yoga c930 unable to boot off USB

Hello and welcome,

If you're trying to boot in UEFI mode, your setup isn't correct.  I've never messed with enterprise before but to verify how it is installed (same as 10 non-enterprise) I just pulled down an eval ISO. Use a 64 bit ISO.

Use diskpart to configure your flash drive: select disk, clean, create partition primary, format fs=fat32 quick, assign.  Not NTFS, don't set it active.  Use your favorite archiving tool - the free 7zip or just Windows 10 Explorer - and extract the contents of the ISO to the flash drive.

BIOS can probably be at defaults.  Ssecure boot on or off doesn't matter.  Get to the boot menu (Fn + Power Button IIRC) and select the flash drive directly.  That should do it. Booted just fine on the first Lenovo laptop I tried.

[edit to add] Is this  a Yoga C930 or a Yoga Book C930?

Z.
