I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have been using a desktop computer that was given to me about 4 years ago. It came set up with Windows 7 Ultimate which ran fine until about a year ago when I started getting messages it may not be genuine. Now I am having problems downloading some programs
and would like to purchase the correct product key - 32-bit. As the program is already downloaded, I am hoping I do not have to reload it. Can I just purchase the product key and be OK?

A:free product key for hp windows 7 ultimate

There is no free product key.
You paid for it with the purchase of the computer. It is on a sticker affixed to the computer.
The key will work for 32 or 64-bit of the same version.
The free upgrade programs have expired.

Greetings,
I have a Toshiba P675D-S7052 Laptop that came pre-installed with MS Win Home Premium. I conducted an anytime upgrade to Win 7 Ultimate 9 months ago; I forgot to mention that this is my wife's Laptop. I began using hers after she broke mine in a fit of non-understandable anger. She had let her anti-virus lapse, etc. I created a system recovery image; thank you to the big man above. Her system began running poorly and finally crashed. I installed the recovery image and all is well with one very large exception. I am receiving a message from MS saying that my Windows version innot authentic - the upgrade to ultimate. I don't have the upgrade key and am at my wits end. If my wife sees, "NON-Legitimate" on her screen in bold letters I'm done. Will anyone share a key or an idea with me - I am desperate. Many thanks. WSIII

Hi I'm trying to install the student's version of Windows 7 64bit and the install is going well and then I get to the part where I have to enter in the Product Key. I entered the one that was on cd sleeve for the Windows 7 disk and got a wrong product key message, so I thought maybe I needed to enter the product key for the version I'm upgrading from, so I entered in the product for the windows xp disk I have and go the wrong product key message again. So I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do.

Has anyone else had to problem or know how to fix it?

A:reinstalled windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. LOST PRODUCT KEY

Hello Yamaha, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you have a store bought OEM computer, then the product key number should be on the COA sticker usuallu on the bottom of a laptop, under the battery of a laptop, or on the back of desktop.

If you purchased a retail copy of Windows 7, then the paperwork included will have the key on one of them.

If none of the above, then you may be out of luck.

I inherited my Dell PC from my mother in law.  She did not remember having the product key (she was 80 years old) and I could not obtain her e-mail history to search there.  How can I enter the product key?  Somehow it was deleted from the
computer because it no longer is retrievable by searching through the registry.

The PC has a windows XP sticker on it, but she has always had Windows 7 Ultimate.  I believe whoever set up the pc back in 2010 must have completed the complimentary upgrade when the computer was set up.  Is it possible to obtain a product key
to reestablish the genuine Microsoft status and stop the error notice from popping up?

Thanks,

Hello,

This is the current situation:

We have here various of computers running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. On one PC Windows runs inside a VirtualBox on a FreeBSD machine.

My boss wants me to replace that FreeBSD with the Windows that runs inside the VM as the main OS.

My problem is, that it is not documented which installation belongs to which product-key.

Also I have *no* access to the FreeBSD machine. (Physically yes, the machine is right in front of me, but no access to the OS to boot the VM)

To avoid that I accidentally activate Windows with any product-key than the one used in the VM, I am wondering how to figure out which product-key was used?

I thought the 'product-id' in 'system properties' was the 'product-key' and I can go through a list, but it seems to be something different.

Best regards from germany

A:Figure out which product-key was used to activate Windows 7 Ultimate

Hallo Foobarbazqux, herzlich willkommen auf der Sieben Foren .

If you could manage to get the Windows vm running on that FreeBSD machine, it would be very easy. Simply open an elevated command prompt and give command slmgr /dlv to open licencing information, check the partial product key and compare to your existing product keys.
Attachment 303694If this is not possible, it's a bit more complicated: you could use the same method on all other Windows 7 machines, until you only have one product key not used by these machines. The remaining product key on your list should be the one you are looking for.

Hello.  I'm trying to upgrade my Windows 7 Professional (USA - English) to Windows 7 Ultimate (USA - English).  I have two boxed retail copies of Windows 7 Ultimate
Upgrade, of which the product keys are currently not used on another machine.  I tried the Windows Anytime Upgrade procedure by entering in the keys, both of which give an error that says:  "The
upgrade key is not valid. Please check the key and try again."  For completeness, both retail boxes have COAs which state "Made in Puerto Rico" and "For Distribution in US Only".

I called Microsoft support, and they checked the keys.  They said they are both valid and ready to use, but they are not upgrade keys and are instead full product retail keys so Windows Anytime Upgrade wouldn't work.  I researched this online and
it sounded like Windows Anytime Upgrade should still work with full retail keys as well.  For kicks, I checked this out myself with a known
full Windows 7 Ultimate retail key.  I currently have it installed/activated on another computer, but I just wanted to test if I could make it to the next step in the Anytime Upgrade procedure which is the
license agreement step.  I can confirm I do not get the same error when using this full version key and it does in fact let me proceed to the agreement step (which I of course cancelled out of).

Being skeptical of the telephone support agent's answer, I went to the Windows ... Read more

If you have the legitimate Windows 7 Pro 32 bit key, the media from which you install does not matter. You may even download the Windows 7 Pro 32 bit with SP1 from Digital River - in case your previous download was without SP1 and use that ISO

If for some reason Microsoft's USB/DVD download tool is problematic, ( it happened in my case with a Lexar pendrive) , use the Universal USB installer Universal USB Installer – Easy as 1 2 3 | USB Pen Drive Linux to create the bootable pendrive.

Hi all,

New here, I hope that this is the right place for this.

I bought a machine a short while ago and it has come up with a popup saying that 'You may be a victim of software couterfeiting' and also on the bottom right corner I have the Windows 7 build 7601 'This copy of Windows is not genuine'.

I've gone back to the seller who is not interested (I'll deal with this separately!).

The purpose of my post is that I want to make my copy legit and have been looking on eBay and there are Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit CD's with COA.

Will I have to reinstall the whole operating system or can I follow some of the guides on here and just change my product key from the one that I buy with the CD?

I really want to avoid formatting and reinstalling as I have just got the machine set up as I want it and it will take considerable time to get it back to how it is now.

Thanks in advance for any advice/tips!

Welcome to the Seven Forums

Do not buy a new DVD and license off of eBay you will end up back in the same situation where it will not be genuine.

You should contact Microsoft and turn in seller, sometimes in the past they have given a person that does that a free copy of Windows 7.

A:Window 8.1 Pro Product Key

WARYAA Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about needing your product key and wanted to help. With Win8x, the product key is embedded into the UEFI firmware on the motherboard.  You can retrieve it by following these directions:  Product Key - Find for Windows 8 However ... you have a bigger problem.  Your Win8.1 is not activating because you most likely reinstalled Win8 from an image your downloaded from the Internet or from an MS DVD -- and those images are Retail versions. Your PC came preinstalled with an HP OEM version of Win8 -- and the product key from that can only be used to activate the HP OEM version, not the Retail versions.  So basically, the version you installed will not activate unless you go out and buy a license for it. What will work is restoring your machine to its original factory condition using HP Recovery Media.  This is a set of DVDs and a CD, or USB stick, that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, settings, and applications, reinstall the original OS, drivers, and some HP Utilities. In some cases, you may be able to order a USB stick instead of disks.  You have to order these from HP; they can not be downloaded. You can look online for Recovery Media starting with the linked paged: http://support.hp.com/us-en/driversOnce there, input your Product name or number. Hey Guys,

In 'System Information', there's a link that says 'Get more features with a new edition of windows". Clicking that brings up an 'Enter Product Key' page, and it is only at this point that I realize my product key isn't stuck to the bottom of this PC.

So, researching this on Google, I found a product key that Microsoft Released for the Trial:
NTTX3-RV7VB-T7X7F-WQYYY-9Y92F

So, my question is: Will my Windows 8 Product Key work with 8.1 Preview?
If so, I think I would rather dig that up than use a generic key.

If it doesn't, and I need to use this generic key, what happens at the end of the Preview when everyone has the same Product Key.

Will Windows 8 become an Operating System where you'll need to pay for the updated OS after the preview? Ie, paying for and getting a new Product Key?

And last, does anyone know what features entering a product key will actually unlock?

Thanks, Kurt

1- You can upgrade from Windows 8 without entering a product key, but for a clean install you'll always need a product key. You can enter the generic key or a key received from MSDN in case you have a subscription. Windows 8 keys do not work for a clean install.

I activated Windows 8 via phone. I gave them the 9 groups of digits and activated successfully. How do I find out my product key? I'm trying to "Add features to Windows 8"

A:How do I find my Product Key?

The numbers that you gave Microsoft to activate Win8 was a product ID number, generated by Windows after a license key was entered.

The 25 character license key is included with the confirmation email, if you bought Win8 by download. If you have a retail package, it's on the COA (certificate of authenticity).

Make sure that you keep a safe copy of that code. It contains the whole value of the Windows license.

A:How to find product key?

phillymcv Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about needing to retrieve your product key and wanted to help. Unfortunately, HP does not keep any records of individual product keys tied to individual PCs, so there is no way to get that information from HP. IF the PC came with Win7, there is a sticker on the PC (probably inside the battery compartment) that will have the product key printed on it. IF the PC came with Win8 or newer, there is no such sticker as, starting with Win8, the product key was embedded into the UEFI firmware on the motherboard -- and the only way to retrieve that is to run a utility, which you can't do unless you boot the PC into some version of Windows. Here is a utility you can use to retrieve the product key from the UEFI firmware:  Showkey - Windows 10 Forums IF you have a Win10 installation media, you can boot using that, install that tool, and then use it to retrieve the product key. Good Luck========================================================================I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor do I represent, HP.---------------------------------------------------------------If my posts helped you, please click the Thumbs-Up symbol on my post to say thanks. If my posts solved your problem please click "Accept As Solution".========================================================================

Been awhile but I still have a sick PC (custom built with no windows XP sticker on it)resting in the basement. I still believe some virus is in system but so many files are missing now or corrupted a fresh start is needed. Problem I do not know product key code number for the XP pro that is installed. Worst my attempt to use a key finder program has not worked. Installer error; GUI prevents all new programs from installing.

First I heard it is nearly impossible to find key in registry. Does anyone know if it is possible? Next are there any programs to find key that would not have to be installed on PC? How are they used if available?
I found product ID listed in a couple of places but they do not appear to be actual key. I think key is a 25 characters item and both product ID numbers I found are 20.

A friend loaned me his install CD for OEM XP Pro, but I do not want to use his key without permission.
Sick PC is not Windows 7 ready, little old and slow for that. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

A:Find Product key for XP on PC

It should be on the computer. If it's a desktop, it will be on the disc tower somewhere. If a laptop, likely on the bottom somewhere.

A former office manager for my business took all the XP disks out of their folders and put them together and then put all the folders (with their key numbers) together - empty. So I am faced with a stack of XP disks that are not identified by their key numbers, plus a lot of key numbers that don't contain a disk.

Is there some way I can search the disk for something (even a partial number) that will let me put it back in the correct folder with its proper key number?

I need to do a reformat and reinstall, but at this point, it is just chance if I should hit on the correct key number.

(The key-find programs I see seem to look on the hard drive, but that isn't going to help me connect a specific disk to a specific folder with the proper key number.)

A:Need to find product key for XP Pro

Download belarc advisor and run it on the computer you want the serial number for. XP disks did not have specific serial numbers embedded in them. The numbers were always on the cd case. So if you have folders with all the serial numbers it really doesn't matter what xp cd goes in what case. (exception is if you have volume license copies mixed in with OEM copies)

Hi there,

my Satellite came with Windows 10 pre installed?
Great, but what if I need to re-install it?

So can anybody tell me how to find the key (pref. without installing additional software), because the laptop does not have a COA or OEM sticker anywhere.

Cheers,

Cees
