I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi lancs ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
The support website officially publish any certified BIOS intended for your machine.
Best to use your serial number to get ones specific for your machine.
If you do not have any issue , it would be best to keep the current ones and simply load its default if needed.

Hi All, Last tuesday when i tried to turn my laptop on, it did not.I Tried connecting power cable directly(without battery) still  did not start. then i tried to reset by pressing start button for longer, still nothing happened. Then staurday evening, i handed it to a local repair shop who told me that power controller is faulty and sent me this pic(Attached below) on whatsapp, stating this needs to be replaced. He charged 1500 rupees for same. Today evening i got my laptop back and it is working as well but as and when i remove power cord, it shuts down completely/suddenly as if there is no battery installed. Last time when i used my laptop everything was working fine. Before i handed him my laptop i also noticed that battery light was glowing orange, but was not turning blue(Battery full light) even after hours of charging and i also left it for overnight charging but the next day still it was showing orange light only. Now the battery shows 98% charging when i hover my mouse on battery icon and keeps on showing same, it is not increasing. and if i try to remove power cord, laptop goes off completely. So, is my battery faulty???? I am unable to find any friend with lenovo laptop so that i can check fault. I tried battery calibration but nothing happened. how my battery can suddenly stop working?????? if last time it worked perfect. one thing i did was i tried to keep pressing power button for longer so many times while trying to trouble shoot my laptop. Hey guys, Just fished an old G530 out of a closet and it's become my pet project. I've cleaned it up, installed some additional memory and Windows 10 x64. Having some issues with system's power, though. Initially the battery would not charge and the unit would only run on AC. After installing Windows 10, it now charges and can be used with out the AC adapter, but occasionally will shut down and refuse to turn back on. When it does this, the battery indicator flashes at me, so I can only assume this means it's died. It will do this at seemingly random battery levels, after a varying amount of time. I do not believe this is an overheating issue. Additionally, the charging cycle is almost 7 hours, and the unit dies in under 2. I have tried multiple batteries. I would like ot update the BiOS to 1.10 from 1.09, but I cannot find the unit listed as it is no longer supported. Any help or advice is appreciated, thanks!

The community forums are probally not the best place to be looking for this kind of advice, as it is a universal computer thing, not limited to your computer. There are plenty of articles that will tell you what to do if you use google.None the less, unless you're willing to shell out some good money, just use Audacity. Its free, its easy to use, and your computer should be able to handle it.

My laptop had screen flickering problem. I used to rectify same by slapping gently at top of it or by moving lid front and back. I was doing same and whole screen went off. When i went to repair shop he said motherboard issue is there 1500 rupees will be charged and asked to came in evening. He called me in afternoon and said your laptop has been rectified but display is too dim, when i installed FL (about 3-4 inches long strip which gives power to lcd) and it worked perfect and asked that 500 more will be charged for same. I said ok. When i went to shop it was working fine. I paid 2000 and took laptop home. When i opened it and started, i was shocked that there was no power in lcd, however laptop was working. I opened back cover of screen and tried touching FL connectors, nothing worked. I went back and told him, he installed new FL and again it did not work. He said lcd cable is faulty. He tried finding same and after few days said, it is not found. I took my laptop back along with 500 rupees for FL. Installed old FL again and ordered lcd cable online. Today, i installed cable on my own but lcd still not showing light, however laptop is working and shows too dim display. What is faulty???

Hey there guys and gals, I have a Lenovo Laptop 3000 series G530 (18 months old) and it causing me a few problems because it's extremely slow and almost always unresponsive to anything I do (webpages on most occasions are taking 30 - 40 minutes to load, Although here it only take 10 - 20 seconds :P).

Anyway I located a .VHD file and tried to use that restore it's previous state from last november (just before I returned it too the microsoft engineer who said he had fixed it when he hadn't (naughty engineer ), Anyway I managed to fix it myself that time round.

So I was posting in one of the threads here earlier about opening the .vhd file to access the windows file's before they became unresponsive (or whatever you want to call it ) and it turn's out that the .vhd file may be from just after the engineer tried to fix it or just before (not too sure it was the same day though ), Anywho I wanted to know how to do a factory restore on the computer without having the installation disc (and apparently no product key on the sticker below the battery on the bottom of the laptop, It's worn away so it's unreadable).

After a sudden overnight update to Windows 10 the machine started to freeze and crash - mostly while the mouse cursor moves or dialog opens or other display changes happen quickly. I figure I should update the graphics card, which is listed as Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 My Envy 4 machine runs a 64-bit system on core i3 2376 CPU @1.4Ghz For that machine, the Intel website will not give an option for a Windows 10 update. The driver version is wayyyyy behind: version Current version update is for Windows 8 for that graphic card. It is here:https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/81500/Intel-HD-Graphics-3000-for-2nd-Generation-Intel-Core-...The version there is listed as which is signed to a year ago, with a slightly lower version number released 2/2016 (16 months ago). It is only given as an .exe package which will not install because of spec incompatibility. Can I get the Win8 driver for the Win10 machine? If this makes sense where can I get the file itself and how to do this? TIA Yuval

hi tech guy forums,

I have a standard Dell Dimension 3000 pc at home that i regularly use for gaming. At the moment I have a Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 graphics card installed to help with gaming. I am interested in purchasing a new graphics card and was wondering if, in particular if a Nvidia 9600 GT graphics card will fit and comply with my computer. I am also upgrading my RAM form 512MB to 2GB if this helps in any way. If you have any other recommended graphics cards that may work with my pc please let me know.

A:Dell Dimension 3000 graphics card update

Your Dimension 3000 only has PCI slots for a graphics card, correct?

(according to dell, and my own experience, likely yes)

Without a PCI-Express or AGP card slot, gaming can not improve very much.

I also have a Dimension 3000 : P4 2.8 GHz - 768mb RAM, with a Geforce 6200 [256mb ddr2] PCI card. When it comes to gaming, it is outperformed by my old 1.4 GHz Athlon XP - 512 RAM - Geforce Ti-4200 [64mb], simply because the older computer has an AGP video slot ... the PCI bus is a VERY limiting factor.

I've installed Windows 8.1 on a Medion Akoya P6634 sporting a Intel HD3000 and a GeForce GT630M.

I had to disable Windows Update because the notebook's screen becomes black after it performed some updates.
Hooking it up to another screen via HDMI works but I can't activate the notebook's screen anymore.

So I tried installing the latest Intel 3000 HD driver manually (like described here https://communities.intel.com/message/248260). It says that the latest display driver is already installed.
When I install the Intel 3000 HD driver via the executable the screen becomes black after hearing the "device disconnected" sound.

When it happened the last time all I could do was switching to safe-mode and disabling the Intel HD 3000 altogether.

Installing the latest GeForce-driver has no effect whatsoever. All the time the notebook's display is running at a 1024x768 resolution (native resolution is 1366x768).

Do you have any ideas what else I can do besides going back to Windows 7?

A:Black screen on notebook after Intel HD 3000 update

Welcome to the forum!

Bit unusual computer you have there. Could look at BIOS settings and see if there are graphics settings that you can change. Look for something like dynamic or discrete.

Also try the drivers on the manufacturers site: Treiber - MEDION Deutschland

I got a custom Laptop with the following characteristics:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit , SP1
Processor: Intel Core i3-2330M [email protected] GHz
Graphics: Intel HD 3000 & GeForce GT540M (2GB)

So a few days ago when I tried to update the Intel HD 3000 through the Device Manager, a better version was found and started installing it. Suddenly the screen turned to black!
I turned off the laptop and booted in safe mode. I opened Device Manager again and I saw that Intel HD 3000 was replaced by "Standard VGA Adapter"...So I uninstalled it and rebooted again in safe mode and Intel HD 3000 was installed automatically. But the problem was not solved and the same would happen if I tried to update again the Intel HD card through Device Manager.
Generally I have googled very much about this problem but no results. I have downloaded the driver from Intel website to try it manually and again it fails to install.

But here is where it gets more strange:

Nvidia card is supposed to be up-to-date since when I click in Device manager to search online for drivers the message says there is not newer version. But there is not even a sign in my laptop that it is "alive". I mean that I cant even find Nvidia's control panel when I right-click in Desktop or near clock or at my Control Panel...I think thats not normal too.
So I downloaded the appropriate driver from Nvidia website, started installing it and an error appeared: "NVIDIA Installer cannot c... Read more

I have a Lenovo Laptop G530 model 444625u. It is running a clean install of win 10 Pro. Sometimes at the start of the "power on" I get 3 or 4 beeps. They occur during the white Lenovo screen during the Bios startup. The beeps are loud and do not appear to be grouped together. They seem to be single beeps. Win 10 pro does start and everything appears to be working. Device manager does have 2 "System Base Unit" without software support but other than Blue tooth everything works. Sometimes when I power up there are no beeps. My battery only last for 30 min. off wall power.
I don't know what is causing these beeps. I tried to update the bios but the most current version was tested with Vista and it will not load even when run in admin mode.
Here are my questions:

How to I stop they Bios Beeps?
Do I need to update my Bios ? If so where can I find one tested for Win 10?
How can I get win 10 Blue tooth software for the G530?
How can I resolve the last "System Base Unit" software?

Any help would be appreciated.
Mod's Edit: System model added to the front of Subject line to improve visibility / clarity.

A:G530 - Bios Beeps

I'll see if I can answer some of your questions....
How to I stop they Bios Beeps?
Did the beeping start after the Windows 10 upgrade?  To rule out any conflicts with the BIOS try this...
1. Shut down Windows and unplug the charger / adapter. 2. Remove the battery. (If removable)3. Press and hold the Power Button for 15 seconds. 4. Re-install the battery, plug in the charger / adapter if needed and power up the system to see if the problem was resolved.
If you had the beeps prior to the Windows 10 upgrade then they maybe an indication of a hardware problem.  Possibly a piece of hardware such as a optical drive is slow in responding during power up when the system polls all the devices.
Do I need to update my Bios ?
No, if the machine was working good before the Windows 10 upgrade then there isn't a reason to do a BIOS update.  Even the latest BIOS version available for your model was created long before Windows 10 was even developed.
How can I get win 10 Blue tooth software for the G530?
There isn't any.  Try installing the Vista version in Compatibility Mode to see if that will resolve the problem.
How can I resolve the last "System Base Unit" software?
I assume that you are referring to the Unknowns in Windows Device Manager.  If so, these unknowns are most likely related to the Bluetooth driver not being installed.  Fix the driver problem and the unknowns will be fixed... Read more

Aggghh!  When I levered my faithful G530's CMOS battery from its tack-welded tabs, it shot across the desk and onto the floor before I could record which side of the battery had been "up".  Lenovo manuals - even a maintenance manual for a similar model - give no clue, and the tacks on each side of the battery are too similar to distinguish matching points on the tabs. Does anyone happen to know the battery orientation w.r.t. the side of the motherboard to which it had attached, or have access to such reference material? I would really prefer not to take a 50% chance on bricking the mobo. Thanks.

"Bad inverter or screen?" Yes, most likely. But which one? Cutting in and out like that, I have not seen.My thinking is the inverter is cheaper, so I try that first. It is still possible that the cable is faulty, though. Not much help, I know.

A:Lenovo G530 keyboard qwerty belgium issue

Although there are two languages and several keyboard layouts in Belgium you would probably have a French Belgian keyboard.

Control panel > regional and language > keyboards and languages > general > installed services > add > and select either Belgian Comma or Belgium French as matches your keyboard.

Then remove the prior inappropriate entry(ies) and OK your way out.

A:Lenovo G530 laptop monitor randomly goes black

Hi Oolee,
Welcome to Lenovo Forums.
Did you try booting from safe mood? There is also a chances, if your cables are intact and not loose (VGA Cable), or the monitor loses power.
Please go through this HMM for hardware assistance.
Method 1:
Any external hardware can cause this (like a keyboard or mouse can cause system to sleep to save the power) 1. To change this go to ?MANAGE? by right clicking on the ?MY COMPUTER ? icon on the desktop . 2. Go to DEVICE MANAGER. 3. I have been gifted with a G530 Type 4446 laptop. I would like to upgrade the processor, as I have already upgraded the RAM to 4GB. Can someone please tell me what my options are as far as processors? I would like to get the fastest 64-bit processor for it that I can. Many thanks!

A:G530 Type 4446: Processor upgrade possibilities?

Good day and welcome to the community.
Normally, I would recommend that you look through your model's hardware manual, specifically the FRU parts listing, to see any possible options. In this case, I can find no hardware manual for the G530.I did find this thread, though: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-B-and-G-Series-Notebooks/G530-HMM/m-p/140371
which would indicate that the N500 manual is the best approximation available. The support site changed a while back, so the manual link in that thread no longer works. Please try this, instead: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/45n3577_01.pdf
Starting on page 98, you'll see the listing of CPU options that were available/configurable at the time.
Apologies, but this is the best I can find.

I blew away the Vista that came with this laptop, and installed W7 Pro. Got everything to work except the touchpad. I tried several different drivers from Lenovo and elsewhere, compatibility mode, but no help. What Lenovo lists as W7 are actually the old Vista drivers.

I even tried Lenovo's suggestion of pullling the battery and holding down start for 20 seconds (?). Again, no help.

I have had a problem with my HP Pro 3000 SFF desk top not coming out of power save mode resulting in no monitor, keyboard or mouse. This was resolved through the HP Help Desk, but now my DVD RW wont recognise audio, game or movie cd's or dvd's.

The pc is only 13 months old and at the price I paid I wouldn't expect problems like this.

Has anyone else had this problem or can anyone suggest a fix.

I have been through the HP online fix which did not help.

Thanks in advance,

I just purchased a socket 939 AMD64 3000+ CPU today, im not exactly sure which codename it is, but Ive heard from a lot of places that I can overclock it to 2ghz on stock cooling. Is this true? According to a benchmark site I found, if you OC it to 2.2ghz, you will get very decent results. I just want to confirm these rumors. Anyone done this before?

A:Oc Amd 64 3000+

I think the best answer we can give you is... maybe. There is no "one" answer for your CPU. Each CPU has its own personality and overclockability.

But going from 1.8Ghz to 2.0Ghz sounds like a fairly reasonable expectation, one you should be able to reach. 2.2Ghz is the question, isn't it? Just take it REALLY slow, bumping yourself up one small step at a time and then test your system for errors/crashes before bumping up to the next level. If you are lucky you'll have a CPU that is very happy at that clock and you're good to go!

For an OC to 2.0Ghz, you will PROBABLY be OK with stock cooling. It'll depend on your case's air flow, ambient temp etc. But to go to 2.2Ghz, you're probably going to need a better cooling solution.

Good luck!

Ok all you brains out there. here is the problem that I am running into. I just gave a user a new laptop (she is a beauty) the laptop is a Dell C-600(750 MHz, 20 gig hard drive, 256 MB of memory, 8 MB ATI rage video card and DVD player, Everything else is integrated) Running Windows 2000 with SP1. It is in a docking station.

Well here is the actually problem, when we attempt to print it would reboot the laptop. We went to Canon website and downloaded the latest and greatest driver for this puppy, but no luck. I can not print in dos cause, I hate to say it I do not remember how. Not sure what to do here, if anyone could give me a clue drop me a line

Does the printer work on another computer? Can you try it without the docking station? Can you try a different printer, to make sure it is not a printer port problem?

I just did a spybot scan and found over 10000 web3000 entries on my comp, but I read warning about using adaware to remove and says to remove programs using add/remove. I have no idea what programs I have that use this and have removed most unused or unknowns from my system, although some wont remove completely.
Any advice??

Hi gipper

Welcome to TSG!

Please do this:

First create a permanent folder somewhere like in My Documents and name it Hijack This.

Now Click here to download Hijack This. Download it and click "Save". Save it to the Hijack This folder you just created.

Click on Hijackthis.exe to launch the program.

Click the "Scan" button when the scan is finished the scan button will become "Save Log" click that and save the log.

The log should open in notepad. Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" then Paste the log back here in a reply.

DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required. Someone here will be glad to advise you on what to fix.

Are they basically the same thing?? I was just wondering because the amd cpu runs at about 2.0 ghz and the p4 runs at 3.0 ghz. I dunno this is confusing to me, why dont they just say 2000+ for the amd, argh, it doesn't make sense.

A:AMD 3000+ and P4 3.0??

AMD chips do more work per clock cycle than Intel chips so a 2ghz AMD is equivilent to a 3 ghz Intel chip. The only real difference is AMD chips are better for gaming.

I think my mobo will be able to handle a software overclock according to sandra but my only concern is the memory, it only has one timings vs frequency table
i've tried overclocking before on a 250 watt psu and would reboot but IM gonna get a 450 watt
any advice?

A:xp 3000+ oc

your memory timings are actually listed in both windows (look under "logical/chipset1 memory banks") and they match the results from cpu-z

I've got a Cisco 3000 VPN concentrator set up, using one of our internal W2K machines as the certificate server.

Creating and installing the root certificate went fine.

Creating and installing the identity certificate, on the other hand, is all sukybalz...
I create the certificate no prob, but when I log on to the VPN, yes, as administrator, I go through Certificate Management/Installation, select the certificate file from my computer to upload, but then I get the error...

"Error importing identity certificate: Unable to create identity certificate file"

Nothing I do as far as playing with permissions does anything, and as usual the O-fficial sites aren't too much help.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know, thank ya...
