I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I have a network of Mac machines. In particular, I'd like to be able to access my iMac (the icing on the cake would be my wife's iMac too) using VPN. I'd be using a MacBook Pro to access the network remotely, via a Netgear D6200 router.

I do have a fixed IP address.

I can use 'Screen sharing' to access my iMac from within the network, using the internal IP address, but if I try the same, remotely, using the external IP address, it won't work.

I'm using OS X Yosemite version 10.10.2 on all machines.

Ok, I start with the FF problem:

An online browser-based game have problems showing one of their frames when I use firefox... It works fine with Explorer and Netscape. A few other players have the same problem: it won?t show anything!
I have tried on 2 different computers using win xp sp2, firefox 1.5 and 2.0 in normal and in safe mode.

More importantly: (not sure if this is related in some way)

I can?t open my bank site (I tell which one if necessary). It says that it doesn?t support my browser and I should use:

* PC i kombination med: Explorer 5.01 - 6.0
* Netscape 7.1

Macintosh i kombination med:
* Netscape 7.x

(sorry about the swedish language; it says "in combination with")
I have explorer 6, firefox 2, netscape 8... not one of them can enter their hompage.
And, btw, I can?t delete messages when I log in to hotmail.
-> Would like to be able to pay my bills in time this month <-

Heh... already looking for a new HDD to install a clean OS, but prefer to get this one working first - if possible!

Edit: When I boot from another HDD (same computer as in specs) it works fine.. .everything: bank site, game site, hotmail... yeah!

Any ideas, or similar problems, would be nice to know of...

A:some sites and/or frames won´t load properly

Which firewall are you using?
Netscape and Mozilla have the same source code and both are basically the same in foundation. Which site is the bank? I'd like to check please.
Do you have any extensions/themes installed in Firefox?
Which Firefox version is it - 2.0 or (check in Help>About)
Make sure to update to the latest one.

I bought this router because of favorable comments here and because of its VPN capability. But first I want to setup remote management and that's giving me a headache.

I just updated the firmware and it says the level is V1.0.7.2_1.1.93.

In the Remote Management setup dialog (via routerlogin.net) I clicked the box to turn on remote management. I told it to allow any ol' IP address. And I gave it a port number which I don't think is blocked by my ISP (let's say 12345).

The router is installed at NewHouse and I determine the IP address by asking my browser " what is my IP address?"

If I direct my browser to NewHouseIpAddress:12345 I get an immediate error message "This site can't be reached."

Thinking I might have chosen a port blocked by my ISP I also tried NewHouseIpAddress:80 (a port which my IP claims to block) and ... I got into the router's login dialog!!!

I don't expect anyone here can explain why my ISP is not blocking port 80 which they claim to block. But I hope someone can explain why my specified port for remote management does not work.

I will appreciate any help/ideas/sympathy/pointers.

Thanks, Bob

My Yoga 700 wifi works very fast on a Netgear Nighthawk wireless router at a different location, but very slow on a new (January 2019) Orbi 90 mesh router also made by Netgear. Other devices such as phones and i-pads have good speeds (90download/20upload) on the Orbi90 mesh router.  Both Lenovo Vantage and Microsoft updates say my yogo 700 is up to date.  The yoga 700 bios was updated in January 2019, the network adapter has the most current driver installed. Netgear's tech support was not helpful, and said I should update my "adapter" settings, as the problem is with my Yoga 700.  Thank you for reading this and for your help!

I have not posted to a forum such as this and not am I an expect so if someone responds please try to keep it in laymans terms.

I have a Toshiba Tecra 730XCDT computer with Windows 98 and I am trying to get this Netgear WG511T wireless networking card to come to life. I realize that this is an old computer and that with current hardware / OS I probably wouldn't be having many problems. That being said, I have my reasons for trying.

I have installed the V3.1 driver b/c that is apparently one that was designed for Win98 and I thought I might have more success with it.

I get the software installed and when I attempt to run the Wizard it tells me the device (i.e. the card) is not in the adapter, the card light is also not lit. I have never used this adapter so I am assuming that it is working condition.

Any ideas? Can I give you more information?

Thank You

Hi: Install all the drivers listed under the chipset section. If your model has an Intel graphics adapter, just install the Intel HD graphics driver listed under the graphics section. You need the Realtek ethernet driver under network. You need the Realtek card reader driver under storage. I don't know what model wireless card your model uses, so please do the following and I will figure that out and tell you what drivers you need for that. Go to the device manager and click on the device named Network Controller. Then click on the Details tab at the top of the Network Controller window. Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description. Drop down on that list and select the item named Hardware ID's. Post the top string of characters you see in the window that start with PCI\VEN. After you install the drivers I suggested you should have most of the devices installed. You can find the hardware ID for any remaining devices needing drivers using the above approach and I will post the links to those too. Unknown devices first line will not start with PCI\VEN.  But post the top line for any of those too.

A:window xp professional

Windows XP 32-bit will recognize and use a maximum of about 3.25 GB of RAM.

Windows XP 64-bit will recognize and use more than 4 GB of RAM.

Unless you plan to install it in a computer that has and needs more than 4 GB of RAM, use the 32-bit version.

You may also run into a problem with installing and using certain programs with the 64-bit version.

Hi recently I installed a new power supply as my old one burned out. I booted my computer and my XP wasn't working, not even any of the safe modes. All you would see is a cursor for basically an hour. I think i might of had a virus before the power supply switch. So I decided to reinstall windows and I did that and everything was running smoothly. I turned off my computer and turned it on the next day. Now it won't load, but safe mode works like a charm. XP will look like its loading but right after it will turn to a black screen and restart the entire computer. Can anyone help me?

In Safe Mode, navigate Start>Run>(type) "msconfig" and turn off all non-MS Services and all Startups.

Will it boot to Desktop in Selective Startup?

Also in Safe Mode, run chkdsk. Find results of chkdsk is Event Viewer and report if it finds/fixes any errors.

I am at work and my question is for the computer at home. I have reformat my harddrive and try to install win. xp professional on the computer. Turn on the computer and i am in dos mode. I put in the win. xp professional disk in the cd rom to install. The computer then goes installing, it starts by going to the xp setup screen, ask a few questions like Fats 32 and copywrite agreements and such. It would not go into the actual installation of the xp installation program where it would ask for a disk code. After the xp setup program, it then ask to restart my computer, which i did. After the restart it would ask to "press a key for cd-rom boot" and i did, then it would go into the xp setup screen again and the whole xp setup process would starts over again and then it would ask to be reboot again. Now during the beginning of restarting the computer, if i didn't press a key at that point of time when it was asking "press any key to boot from cd-rom", then it would give me this promt "NTLDR is missing press any key to restart". I then would press a key but it would not restart but the same prompt "NTLDR is missing press any key to restart" would appear again. I cannot do anyting at this point and have to mannually turn off the computer. I don't know what to do now?

Please help

A:need help in installing window xp professional

NTLDR is missing press any key to restart, your getting this error because there is a cd in the drive and it's looking for NTLDR file, which appears not to be on it. (strange)

go to www.bootdisk.com and download the six floppies for xp. Put the first one in your puter, and restart, run through all six, and then continue the set up process with the cd.

you said you reformatted the hard drive? I believe you have to set the partition first, then format. XP should do this for you, try the boot disks, and let us know if it works.

I am currently running Windows 7 enterprise. I have heard that I would have to do a clean install instead of an upgrade. This is OK. I am mostly concerned about compatability and touchsmart functionality.

A:I have a touch smart PC model IQ526. Can I upgrade to Window...

Joe30339 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!Personally, I would advise AGAINST doing the Upgrade.  Why? Because HP does not supply any Win10 drivers for your PC, and if you force the Upgrade, you will then be relegated to generic drivers that Microsoft supplies. While those MIGHT work, if any do not, then you're stuck with hardware that will not fully function, as the HP drivers needed for that hardware simply do not exist. However, if you are determined to press forward, you can protect yourself from upgrade and recovery problems if, BEFORE you do the Upgrade, you consider using a third-party imaging/restoration application like Macrium Reflect to image off your machine so you can easily restore it if anything doesn't work. Macrium Reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or entire drives: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx What I recommend is the following:1) Download and install Macrium Reflect (MR)2) Run MR and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition(s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB stick3) Use the option to create a boot USB stick or CD My experience is that MR, when using the High Compression option, typically can compress the saved image file to about 50% of the USED space in the OS partition. This means if you have an 80GB OS partition, and 40GB is used, MR only needs about 20GB to store the ima... Read more

Some searching lead me to Can I downgrade from Windows 7 Ultimate to Home Premium? - Microsoft Community.

Try at your won risk!

Hello Everyone

I was in a similar situation. I had "Windows 7 Home Prem OA HP" on a HP desktop I bought new and then upgraded the system to Ultimate with an Upgrade key. But now that I bought a refurb desktop with no OS (with a COA for "Windows Vista Business OEMAc") I needed to use that Ultimate license on the "new" refurb desktop. So my "downgrade ultimate to home premium" search brought me here, amongst other places.

I used a registry solution explained here and in several other places, but I made the changes manually and without the use of a popular tool from a website called deviantart. I figured I was better off hacking the puter manually myself. I did however used it this way (notice upper & lower case matching the "Ultimate" entry format):

HKLM\Software\Microsot\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
EditionID "Ultimate" changed to "HomePremium"
ProductName "Windows 7 Ultimate" changed to "Windows 7 HomePremium"

For reference, I also used the following posting on tomshardware (Downgrading Win7 Pro to Home Premium - Downgrade - Windows 7), specially the response by aquasystems. I would've added this reply there but the thread was closed.

Then, I needed to do an "in-place repair upgrade." I tried using the wi... Read more

I have Windows XP and I have Office Professional 2003. I downloaded the Trial 2007 Office Pro from Microsoft's website, but after trying decided I really didn't like it so I uninstalled it. Even before I unistalled when ever I opened a 2003 application the Windows installer would pop up. Now that I have uninstalled 2007, my 2003 won't open, it is like it isn't there (although I went to the control panel and it was there). The Windows Installer pops up no matter what I try to do, even logging on to the internet.

I went into the control panel where you can add and remove programs and 2003 is still there. I tried restoring back to a previous date, but that wouldn't work.

Can anyone tell me how to get the Installer to stop popping up, and how can I get the system to recognize my 2003 Office Software?

Do you still have the install disks for 2003?

If so remove 2003 & anything to do with it and 2007 and reinstall from the disk.

I purchased the Upgrade to Office Pro. 2003 today. I've already had Windows XP Home with the Office version for students and teachers, but bought this because I wanted to add Access 2003 and Business Conatact Manager.
When I pop in the disk, it stops where it tries to locate my current version of Office. I select the C: drice, and it says it cannot find it. What am I doing wrong?
