I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a POP email account set up in Outlook Express on my old computer running XP. I have a new computer running Windows 8 and have set up Windows Essentials Live Mail with that same POP account but it obviously hasn't been able to download all of my old messages that are still in Outlook Express. How can I transfer these messages from Outlook Express to the new computer with Live Mail?

Also, How can I transfer my contacts list from Outlook Express to Live Mail without having to manually create new individual entries for each contact?

A:Export Outlook Express (XP) to Windows Essentials Live Mail (W8)

please follow this link, it should be ok, if not then your best option is to export to outlook and then import from outlook to live mail.

I have an Windows (Vista) notebook with outlook 2007, and now I have an new notebook with Windows 8.1. Where I want to export my mail & contact to Windows live mail, how can I import this in WLM on my other notebook?

I already have configure my mail on WLM where I can receive and send messages. I tried something with the program Mailstore 8 but my mail is now on another computer.

I also find this link: how to export mail, calendar contact in outlook to windows live mail clientWith the "Outlook Conversion Application" solution but is this possible on different computers and has WLM an import function?

A:Export mail and contacts from Outlook 2007 to Windows live mail 2012?

Don I might be way off track here mate but was the Outlook account the same email address as you have set up in WLM?

Just a thought you might try adding an account to WLM using the old address and password. I did this with my old account from my service provider then went to a Hotmail account.
Now admittedly it was still within WLM but worth a try.

What I will do is try and add my work account (Outlook) to my WLM and see if it works.

PS It added the account but I have to get the POP and STMP settings right first.

I've searched the forum and it seems my need is a little different than the posts which have already been made.

I have an old XP laptop which I was using Outlook Express for one of my mail accounts (a work account). I also ran regular Outlook for another (personal). I want to have both of these accounts on my new PC.

My new PC is running Windows 7 wiht Office 2007. I used the Windows transfer cable and things worked failry well. My regular Outlook files all came over well, but nothing for Outlook Express.

I really would like to take this time to somehow export my OE files into my Outlook 2007. I would really like to keep the account which imported in on Outlook seperate.

Question 1: Is there a way to import my OE files into Outlook 2007?

Question 2: Is there a way to have two seperate email accounts in Outlook without combining them? Basically I want to have a work email and a personal and keep them seperate.

If I can't have two seperate emails with Outlook, can anyone suggest something which would allow me to export my old Outlook (the old personal emails) into another program so that I can at least use my work email on Outlook 2007?

Hopefully this isn't too confusing.

A:Export Outlook Express XP into Outlook 2007 Windows 7?

If it's possible then I suspect it's far more likely you'd do it using an import feature in Outlook 2007 as opposed to an export feature in OE6, and I doubt the change of operating system really has much influence on this.

I'm not running Office 2007 on the machine in front of me, otherwise I'd check some of the options myself for you - but if you look at the import menu in Outlook 2007 (or if you're really stuck, the help files!) then I feel certain they'll be an answer already waiting for you

can anyone give me a step by step description, how i can export my Emails and the Address book from Outlook Express 6 to another Computer which runs also Outlook Express 6?
I tried already to export the Address book but it only allows me to export it as a *.csv-File and after i put the data on my usb stick and try to import it on my new computer by File - Import - Addressbook, the program keeps asking me for a *.wab-File? (btw: i can only use the: "Text File (Comma Separated Values))" Option, when exporting the address book.

Export and Import from email messages doesn't work either.

Has anyone a really step-by-step description how to do this??

Thank you very much in advance for your help

A:Solved: Import & Export from Outlook Express 6 to Outlook Express 6

Hi wizzle2003

When you are ready to Import the .csv file on the destination computer,
In Outlook Express,
File > Import > Other Address Book
You should then be given the option to choose a Text File (Comma Separated Values)
Then Browse to the .csv file to complete the Import.
Enable Show Hidden Files and folders:

Open My Computer,
Tools > Folder Options > View tab,
under Hidden Files and Folders, verify Show Hidden Files and Folders is selected.
Remove the check mark for Hide Extensions for known file types.
To locate the directory where Outlook Express keeps it's message store:
Tools > Options > Maintenance tab > Store Folder
Note the location, then Cancel out of the window.

Navigate to that directory, copy all the .dbx files to a folder on the Desktop.
Copy those files to a folder on the Desktop of the destination computer.
If you are using a Flash drive to transfer the files, it may take a couple of transfers to complete.

Once all the .dbx files are on the Destination computer,
Open Outlook Express,
Tools > Import > Messages > Microsoft Outlook Express 6 > Next
Select: Import mail from an OE 6 store directory
Click: OK
Browse to the folder containing the .dbx files on the Desktop.
When you reach the Finish button,
You should see a "Congratulations Your data was successfully imported"

If there is more than one Identity in Outlook Express, switch to the other Identities in Outlook Express and repeat the steps above.

I did it a long time ago and cannot recall my method.

If you pound google, you will find numerous methods. If one doesn't work, move on to the next. I do recall that it is a hit and miss affair, so be prepared to experiment.

Primary advice: be sure you have multiple copies of your DBX folders and keep one copy of each folder safe and unaltered. Try the various methods you discover on a copy of the DBX folders.

On an XP Home with SP2, we have been having issues with Outlook Express 6 for months. It is my boss's computer, and most of her issues are that when she clicks on anything in Outlook it seems to forget about it. She clicks on the Create Button, and her cursor turns to an hourglass, but then does nothing- eventually returning to her normal cursor. She has also been having recieving issues. I have personally sent an email to her account in which she never recieved.

A lot of times, the application just locks up, and has to be shutdown in the task manager. I received the following today when notified of the error report:

There was also a box that had the errors in it:

" "\appcompat.txt

I looked in the folder, and couldn't even find the WER9385 folder, but several with different numbers. Most of them contained the files msimn.exe.hdmp and msimn.exe.mdmp.

So I decided to export the address book and messages so I wouldn't lose any information when trying to figure out the problem. The exporting of the address book went fine, but when I tried to export the messages, I got this error:

The export could not be performed. Your default MAPI store could not be opened.

I would like to save my email (which currently resides in Outlook Express v6) to a file.

From here, I'm going to reformat and reinstall the apps on my computer and I want to restore the email back to Outlook Express.

Backup your OE mail and news accounts.

Click Tools| Accounts, select the account to backup, and then click the Export button. This will store the account's settings in a *.iaf file at the location you specify. You can later import any *.iaf file by clicking the Import button. Your account password is stored in encrypted form in the *.iaf file. I was using Adobe Photoshop Album Starter on my in-laws PC. On Photoshop, there is an email photo function. I set it up using the in-law's AOL account not realizing that it will kick off Outlook Express and retrieve all the emails in the AOL inbox (There is no option from Photoshop to leave copy of email on AOL server. I can only select that option if I go to Outlook Express Account dialog). Is there any way I can export these emails back to the in-law's AOL inbox? If I forward each email back to the in-law's AOL email @, the email will look like it comes from itself. Also, there are more than 100 emails. It is quite tiresome to forward one at a time. Forwarding a bunch at a time results in the email becoming text attachments. My in-law does not want to learn a new application, so, staying in Outlook Express is out of the question. HELP!

A:how to export Outlook Express email to AOL

You do not have any control over the AOL server to "replace files", you have downloaded them and they are deleted from the server.

Forwarding them back is the nearest thing I can think of, but educating on the use of OE would be better, then you have the emails and not AOL after they are dowloaded.

I've just done a full re-installation of Windows ME on my PC, to overcome deteriorating performance. I backed up data and restored it OK. However, I backed up the Outlook Express 6.0 messages by doing an Outlook Express export into several files, and copying those files back onto the new PC (I suspect now that I should have simply copied the files themselves in Explorer, rather than exporting them).

I have tried to import the messages from these exported files into my now empty Outlook folders. I chose to import from an OE6 Identity, and selected the folder where the files are; the files are all named after the Outlook folders, and have type DBX. The import function shows me the files listed as folders. I select one of them, and the import claims to be successful, but no messages are imported.

I have also tried simply replacing the new empty files with the backed up DBX files, but although Outlook allows me to view these folders, it shows them as empty.

Does anyone know how I can rescue the messages from the exported files? All I have is the exported files.

I cannot export the messages because for some reason there is not Outlook folder under "%userprofile%\Local Settings\ Application Data\ Microsoft". Just a window that tells me that the messages will be exported from Outlook Express to Outlook or Exchange.

AOL makes it virtually impossible to export their address book to any other emial client. The only way I have been able to do it is to copy and paste one at a time.

Some have sent a message from AOL to everyone in their address book, inclucing their own new POP address . . after setting OE to " Save Addresses of people I reply to in Address Book" then doing a "Repy All to the note they sent from AOL.

Not the most elegant solution, but it seems to work.

A:Unable to export Outlook Express 6 - MAPI error?

I had a similar problem today, while trying to export from Outlook Express 5.00. Googling for a fix returned results saying "turn off MAPI and export will work fine," but in both OE 5 and OE 6, the checkbox to disable MAPI is not present in the appropriate menu.

Further, disabling OE as the default mail handler (mentioned in threads and bulletins elsewhere as a fix for this problem in OE 5 and/or 6) did not fix this problem.

Here's a workaround for this problem:

1) Navigate to directory where Outlook Express(old) keeps your message files. Cant find it? Go to Tools-->Options-->Maintenance-->Store Folder and the path will be displayed.

2) Copy the contents of this directory (files will look like "folder_name.dbx") somewhere you can get to later

3) Run Outlook Express(new) and start making folders whose name matches each .dbx file you just copied. Or rename OE's folders to match .dbx files, your choice.

4) Repeat step 1 in OE(new)

5) Paste your .dbx files from the old version of OE into this directory. Use common sense when overwriting folders.

6) Restart OE(new) and your old messages should be migrated onto the new system.

This worked fine for me, but no promises it'll work for you. Have fun and remember to make backups!

I decided to backup (copy) all my folders with messages in Outlook Express 6. I did a Google search and found numerous sites which gave specific instructions for doing this. All, including Microsoft, were basically the same. I exported to my desktop assuming everything would be in one folder, but rather every folder was displayed separately. I created a New Folder and dragged them all into it. I then opened OE6 and found there were no messages at all there. I then followed the suggested procedure for importing back to OE6 and the messages returned. I then deleted the New Folder I had created on the desktop and re-opened OE6. All messages were gone again. I was able to recover most of them (not all) by restoring from the Recycle Bin. I have attempted several times to recover all the messages and restore OE6 to the exact state it was in before I started this process, but could not. I picked a date prior to beginning this and did a System Restore, but it still left all the icons (folders) with messages on the desktop. Every time I would attempt to import these back to OE6, I would loose more messages. I have tried everything I can find information on but with no success. I simply want to get as many of my messages and folders back to OE6 and removed from the desktop. Can you help?

From what I've read, Thunderbird doesn't have a true "export" function, that it leaves it up to the importing application. However, I have found no way to tell Outlook where to look for the mail files (which in Thunderbird have "no extension").

Any help? Thanks in advance.

I've got an old PC running WinXP and I have always used OE 6 on it but I DO have Outlook 2007 loaded onto the same machine.

I want to migrate all my email and address book to my new machine running Win 7 Ultimate x64.

I know I can either IMPORT the emails with Outlook 2007 from OE... OR... I can EXPORT the emails using using OE 6.... correct ?

I read somewhere that if I used the Import function I woul dlose the date/time stamp on my old emails. Is that true ?

So... what is better ? To Import the OE emails thru Outlook and then back the pst up and move it to my new machine.... or us e the Export function on EO to try to export the email to Outlook ?

How about my address book ?

And once I get the email and addresses into Outlook 2007 on my old machine, should I use a Memory stick to move them to the new machine or try to use the Windows Easy Transfer and an easy transfer cable (which I already have) ?

Thanks for any advice.

I'm trying to help a friend who has just installed Office 2016 on her computer, which was recently upgraded from Win7 to Win10.

She's been using Outlook.com and has accumulated a fair amount of email, contacts and calendar appointments. I've managed to get her email to show up by adding it to Outlook 2016 as a POP3 account. I was able to import her contacts into Outlook 2016 from a file called OutlookContacts.csv. Now I'm trying to get her calendar with all its many calendars and appointments into Outlook 2016.

I'm not sure why but the appointments all show up just fine in Mail and Calendar for Windows 10, even though we did nothing to put them there (as far as we know). But she'd like them to appear when she clicks on the Calendar in Outlook 2016 and I can't find any information on how to do that. I've also looked for some kind of Export function in the Mail and Calendar for Windows 10 app but I came up empty.

How do I get her calendar into Outlook 2016?

I can't be the only one who finds Microsoft *awful* at documenting this kind of basic functionality. Millions of people must have tried to do the same thing before me but if there's any information out there on how to do this, it has eluded me so far....

A:Export calendar from Mail and Calendar for Windows 10 to Outlook 2016?

You can manually export calendars from Outlook.com using a round-a-bout method I posted at this link. However, I don't think that's going to help you because what you really want to do is set up Outlook 2016 so that her email, calendar and contacts sync with (and stay in sync with) her Outlook.com account.

Therefore, instead of setting email up as a POP account and then importing calendar, contacts, etc. separately, why not just setup Outlook 2016 to work with her Outlook.com account? I haven't done it with Outlook 2016, only older Outlook versions that used Hotmail Connector, however the following instructions for Outlook 2016 seem fairly straight forward.

If she has two-factor authentication switched on for her Outlook.com account, then you may need to generate an app password from her Outlook.com account, and use that as the password instead of the actual Microsoft Account password.
