I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Code:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If kernel debugger is available get stack backtrace.
Arguments:
Arg1: 00000000030c6008, memory referenced
Arg2: 0000000000000002, IRQL
Arg3: 0000000000000001, value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
Arg4: fffff880086085d2, address which referenced memory
Invalid system memory was referenced (written to) at an IRQL of 2.

We can see AthrTS6_x64.sys calling some user mode functions and then directly into a page fault, this means it referenced pageable or invalid memory at an IRQL of 2 which always results in a bugcheck.

It's the Atheros Traffic Shaping driver which I haven't seen before, I suggest you download the latest atheros driver and save it to your desktop, then remove all wireless network driver(s) and software from Qualcomm or Atheros then install the driver you downloaded.

Hi, sorry for posting again. This is just a follow-up from my previous post:
http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...ds-2-days.html

I ran memtest86+ (standard test) on my 2x2GB Team Elite DDR3 sticks. Testing each stick for 5 passes showed no errors. Later I'll be testing my other pair, 2x1GB GEIL DDR3. Since Ken mentioned that I should also test the slots, I'm thinking of testing the next 2 sticks on different slots, basically trying to hit 2 birds with one stone, testing both the stick and the slot at the same time.

I was wondering, If all the sticks have no errors and all slots are ok, is it safe to say that the problem might be software or driver related? Would doing a fresh install be a good solution to the problem?

Also, my mobo has an ATI chipset and I now have an nVidia GPU, will installing the ATI southbridge drivers conflict with the nVidia GPU drivers?

Thanks in advance!

I started getting consistent BSODs about 3 months ago, mostly when playing League of Legends. I did a clean update and install of my graphics card drivers (using DriverSweeper) and it fixed the problem for about a month. Three days ago I started getting BSODs roughly once per day, mostly from watching streams on twitch.tv. I ran Driver Verifier this morning and was able to force one in about 10 minutes. It was a 0x000000d5 (Driver_page_fault_in_freed_special_pool) that pointed to ntfs.sys as being the culprit. Later in the day I got another BSOD while gaming that was a x116 and it mentioned something about the display driver attempted to reset (pointed to dxgkrnl.sys). Note that over the past 3 days I encountered a BSOD 4 times and each time it gave me a different bug check code. Appreciate any help.

Some background on this - had 7 crashes in the past couple days. All 7a's. 3 within the past 12 hours. Two didn't have any file names after the error codes. 5 did. Two were dxgkrnl.sys, one was ks.sys, one was msfs.sys, and another was something with mgr.sys in it. My theory is it has to do with memory or my gfx card because its anytime I load up a game or open chrome (using IE just to be able to post this) that has many tabs saved that will open up when I open it. It seems whenever it's a large load of memory is being used. I'd like to NOT believe my HDD is dying but that is my last theory. :( I am fairly new to this.

Hi,

The attached DMP files are of the KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a) bug check.

This bug check indicates that the requested page of kernel data from the paging file could not be read into memory.

BugCheck 7A, {fffff6fc4002ede8, ffffffffc000009c, 34cacbe0, fffff88005dbd000}

Run Chkdsk and then Seatools:

Chkdsk:
There are various ways to run Chkdsk~

Method 1:

Start > Search bar > Type cmd (right click run as admin to execute Elevated CMD)

Elevated CMD should now be opened, type the following:

chkdsk x: /r

x implies your drive letter, so if your hard drive in question is letter c, it would be:

chkdsk c: /r

Restart system and let chkdsk run.

Method 2:
Open the "Computer" window
Right-click on the drive in question
Select the "Tools" tab
In the Error-checking area, click <Check Now>.

If you'd like to get a log file that contains the chkdsk results, do the following:

Press Windows Key + R and type powershell.exe in the run box

Paste the following command and press enter afterwards:

get-winevent -FilterHashTable @{logname="Application"; id="1001"}| ?{$_.providername –match "wininit"} | fl timecreated, message | out-file Desktop\CHKDSKResults.txt

I believe the Blue Screens and hanging applications began after installing the latest Windows updates. The first thing that went wrong was the AVG anti-virus update got hung up. I then ran a manual update which seems to have fixed that problem. Then the Blue Screens started at no particular time or while using any specific software. I was unable to read the Blue Screens as they automatically disappeared from the screen and the computer restarted. When I attempted to run an SFC /scannow, it would not allow me to do so even though I'm the administrator and never had this happen before. I had to create a new user as Admin in order to run the scan. The scan showed no errors. Attached is everything I saved in zip files. I have Windows 7 32 bit, retail OS, pc is 9 months old, reinstalled system once about 6 months ago.

Hello! I have had three crashes within the past few days, and each has cited a different file as the cause. I'm not really sure what to do. I did not do anything new or different when this started--no drivers were updated, no new programs, nothing. I am fully up-to-date on my Windows and driver updates.

Steps I have tried:Ran memtest86+, no errors were found.
Was running the latest stable release of my graphics driver (314.07), upgraded to the latest beta release (314.21) to try to fix--did not help.
Ran sfc /scannow, it found no errors.
I'm not sure what else to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A:Three BSODs within the past few days

Your errors seem to be gfx related, first step IMO would be to uninstall all gfx drivers run Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling then reinstall new drivers

Get temp monitoring software if you dont already and run Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark whilst checking temps should give you an idea if your card is OK

Any more dumps after this and post back with new files

I have recently installed Firefox, drivers for a n52 speedpad and the audio drivers for my system. I am getting random BSODs and it seems like any time I use my front USB ports also. I am assuming that it is my audio drivers that are causing the problems, but I have also heard that Firefox is not very stable on 64 bit machines. If I am playing music when the BSOD happens, then the music buzzes until the dump is done.

I am new to Windows 7 but not new to computers. If anyone could help me pinpoint my problem, I would be very appreciative. Attached is a minidump zip.

hi and welcome

as you can see you have a monster memory problem. Rather than doing all of these I would
Download memtestx86 and run overnight

ryn a system file check to verify and repair your system files to do that
type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow
download cpu-z, and gpu-z both free to check your temps for you might have a heat issue

Hi there! I figured I would finally make an account and ask someone who know what they're doing rather than try to fix it myself, because that never really helps

The BSODs started only a few days ago and the first one I didn't pay attention too really, now they're starting to worry me. One of them resulted in "No Boot Device Found" when the BSOD was done. I turned off the computer and turned it on again and thankfully it loaded fine (though a bit slow). Anyways any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated since it's my mother's desktop!

I uploaded what I think is everything, but let me know if anything else is needed and thank you again in advanced for any help!

Hi all,

I have been experiencing an assorted bunch of BSODs lately. I recently just upgraded my vcard to an nVidia one. I used to have an ATI gpu because I wanted an all AMD setup (790GX mobo + HD4830 gpu). Thinking that it might be a driver conflict prob, I removed the nvidia display drivers and also used DriverSweeper to clean what's left, but I am still experiencing BSODs.

I tried the windows memory diagnostic app. at first it saw errors on my RAM, so I tested both dual-channel pairs (I have 2 pairs btw, a 2GB and a 4GB) separately. The errors were gone. I even tried memtest86+ 4.10. When I tried memtest, I left it for 2 hours, all passed. I even looped test #5, it passed.

So here I am desperate for help...

Attached are al the dumps. The earliest one is when I still had my ATI HD4830 plugged in. Not sure about the 2 "not dated" ones. The others dated August 7th are already using the nVidia GTX460.

NOTE : I couldn't generate a report using perfmon /report as I am getting a "System cannot find the path specified" error. I am currently running on safe mode.

BSODs:
REFERENCE_BY_POINTER
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
"BAD_POOL" - forgot the error... but it was something about POOL or something

System specs:

Hi,

Two things:

When installing an SSD in your system, it's super important to ensure you've updated to the latest firmware for that drive. Visit the manufacturer of the SSD and update to the latest firmware.

Both dumps attached are of the CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT (101) and unfortunately this cannot be analyzed thoroughly due to being only a minidump. However, things I have noticed in one in regards to its stack:

I have a feeling the BSODs are being caused by my USB audio interface, but there's nothing specific that I do that seems to trigger them. I've had a random BSOD every couple of months or so, but as the incidents were so far apart I didn't really bother investigating. However I've now had a couple this week alone, which is rather concerning. I recently changed the USB port my audio interface uses after dusting the PC out, which meant I had to remove / reinstall the device drivers for it and it seems there are more BSODs after doing this.

If that's the case (presuming a BSOD can't do any actual damage besides losing unsaved work?) then it would be great to know.

The PC was self-built in August 2012, all items were new except for the graphics card which was bought in September 2011.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (x64)
CPU: i5 3570k @ 3.4GHz
Video Card: HD 6870
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V LE Z77 Socket 1155

Thanks in advance!

Hi there!

So I've been getting multiple BSODs over the past few months during general use. I've gotten several different stop error codes that I will list below, as well as uploading the zip file as per the posting instructions.

System service exception
Driver Irql not less or equal
Kmode exception not handled
System thread exception not handled
Page fault in nonpaged area,

Any and all help is very appreciated! I've tried updating drivers and running memtest, but the problems still persist.
Thanks in advance!

A:Multiple BSODs over past few months during general use.

Hi Salrion,

Welcome to the 8forums.

It appears I cannot read the latest dump file, this could be caused by hardware damage. I think the hard drive might be causing this.
The 2nd most recent dump file says there might be memory corruption.

Diagnostic Test

RAM TEST

Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 10 Forums

   Note

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Diagnostics Test

HDD TEST

Run SeaTools to check the integrity of your HDD. SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use - Windows 7 Help Forums

   Note
Do not run SeaTools on an SSD as the results will be invalid.

Run chkdsk Disk Check - Windows 7 Help Forums

Ok, new to the forum I keep getting 1a BSODs and the last one I got was a c1. I'm not sure where to go or what to do at this point. When I used BlueScreenView the common driver failure after activating verifier was ntoskrnl.exe. Any help is appreciated! I have had this rig for about 2 years now with no issue, and within the last week get a tone of BSODs (5+). I feel it is a software thing, but I wasn't sure and wanted to check here before doing a wipe and reinstall.

A:Multiple BSODs, all in the past week doing random things

Hello and welcome darksurfer I would first up try these in safe mode if possible

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html

Then I would reseat all cards and sticks - you didn't mention what RAM you have and I would make sure you have the latest driver for the card and maybe do this

MEMTEST

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.htmlthis one you will need to make a bootable disk set the BIOSto optical (or USB if preferred) boot the machine and let it run for at LEAST 8passes unless the errors come up straight away. Takes fair time to complete andsome leave it running overnight.

Hi there this is my first post on these forums so apologies if I'm not too familiar with the layout. I'm not too computer savy so if anyone could try simplify any answers/solutions that would be great. Basically the problem is for the past few months around start up of windows 7 I was getting freezes, BSOD errors (in particular IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL and Page_fault_in_non_paged_area being the main ones) and my pc would be in a continuous loop of booting then freezing or shutting down and I couldn't get the pc to work. I thought the problem could be corrupted windows files so I reinstalled windows onto my computer using the isntallation disk and installed drivers and all was working fine for around 4 days. Each day my windows would have importaint updates so I installed them when prompted. One day I all of a sudden started getting the same errors I got before, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGEED_AREA and IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL and no new software had been installed at this point. I have tested ram and my hard drive with no errors showing although when looking at properties of my computer I have 20GB of ram (16GB Available) not sure if this has anything to do with it (2 x 8 GB sticks 1 X 4 GB stick). Hopefully you guys can help me out and prevent me shelling out on a new rig. Thank you, Conor .

Hi there, I've been having problems with an inherited computer recently, I got it after the owner said they were experiencing problems and the repair guys estimated it would cost as much as a computer to fix so they bought a new one.

I think this was just a case of lazyness by the repair guys so I took it home and tried to start it. it wouldn't boot into windows so formated I loaded windows 7 U 66 and boom it worked.

Now I've had a few BSODS on it and updated what I could with different websites from microsoft and HP I can't figure out what is causing it
ranging from "irql not less or equal" to "fage fault in non paged area" and "bad pool header"

Any Ideas?

I've had 4 bsods in the past few days.
All lead to different culprits, and have happened in different instances.
A couple were overnight. I turned on my monitor in the morning, and there the bsod
was.
A couple happened when I was browsing with firefox 7.0.1
with which, I usually have at least 12 tabs.

I bought this machine from someone just a couple months ago.
It is a customized system, inside a compaq presario matx case.
Windows 7 ult x64

pny geforce gt 240 ddr5 512mb
wd 1tb hdd (about half full)
sony cdrw drive (pata)
hl dt dvdrw DL drive with lightscribe
pcie x1 usb 3.0 expansion card

I have the newest drivers for my vid card.
The newest bios version for my mobo.

I ran memtest86 4.0a for 2 passes separately on each stick of ram- no errors
I ran microscope to test the system board and hard drive controller- no errors.
I used windbg with !analyze -v on my 4 dmp files, the most recent being
a bsod that told me the problem was memory management.
Again, I ran memtest86 4.0a for 2 passes separately on each stick of ram- no errors
One of the bsods was a problem with an nvidia driver.
I have since updated the driver to the most recent.

The psu in this box is new (antec earthwatts ea650 green)
However, the I O switch on the back won't stay in the off position.
If I push it there, it doesn't turn off power to begin with.
I tested the psu with an lcd tester. Ostensibly, this psu is fantastic, but

If you aren't sure about the PSU, you should view voltage readings using HWInfo. Make sure to check "Sensors only" at the beginning. You can also log and send to us for analysis. Try logging an instance of idle and an instance of high load scenarios.

For Memtest, you should be using Memtest86+ 4.20. The original Memtest is there just for backwards compatibility purposes for older and more specialized memory types. To add, 2 passes simply won't do. It should be at least 7 passes.

i have an old pc with following specs

Pentium 4 2.66 GHz
DDR Ram 1.5 gb at 400 MHz
2x 500 gb Seagate Barracuda HDD. 7200.11 and 7200.12
Intel D101Ggc Motherboard

the system is running on Windows 7 Ultimate Ed. 32 Bit

for the past 2 days i have been getting regular BSOD indicating NETIO.SYS at the bottom of the page.
while searching other forums regarding this i found out that this may be due to antivirus i am using. then i uninstalled my norton 360 av and switched to Microsoft Security Essentials but still BSOD keeps on appearing.
I have attached two zip archives (with instructions also in 2nd archive) that contain the minidump files as well as the performance report.
hope anyone can help me get a solution.

thanks in advance

Hi,
Computer slowed down quite a bit in the last few days,
a couple of times to a complete freeze-up.
Hope I followed the rules correctly.
I could not complete the GMER scan, got this error msg.
"WINDOWS NO DISK

I wasn't able to select any of the options, I got that error sound, so I did the
alternative scan.

A:Very Slow The Past Few Days

Hello, Angelo. I don't see anything in these logs to suggest the issue of slowness is related to malware. It may be something beyond the scope of this particular section of the forum. Let's take a look with another tool. If nothing malware related is found, we'll ask you to repost in our Windows XP section of the forum.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.
Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Download

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. For you, it is the 32bit version:
Downloading Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

Double-click on FRST to run it.
When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
Press Scan button.
It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

I have gotten two BSOD's in the past two days while playing League of Legends with my friends. I think all my drivers are up to date so I am not sure what is causing the problem. Also i don't think me playing the game is relevant to the crashes. Please give me feed back from what the crash report says.

and i'm wondering why there is nothing about NOD 32? and ESET? I always use either them or AVG and switch back and forth between the two depending on how my mood is. is this not a recommended AV program?

A:Been reading the site the past few days

Search for ESET, NOD32 results; click hereESET and NOD32 are mentioned here and are good tools. The fact they aren't free limits the number of members who discuss them or recommend them.

Hello and thanks for any help/comments you can share.

My pc stats should be in my signature, for further info my heatsink is ZALMAN cnps7000a, well my pc used to run 34-40 degrees celcius but now it runs at 40-42 degrees celcius and up in the 50s under heavy load. i have no clue why it would be doing this as i havent changed anything at all. I have noticed that my FAN is spinning at 2500 rpm i dont kno if that is about right or not i am using PCAlert 4 to monitor this so perhaps it is just the software ? does anyone else have a program to measure temps? alright i hope someone can shed some light on this issue i just want my pc running smoothly again .... thanks.

During October 9 through October 11, noticing my system was sometimes unresponsive for seconds at a time, I began to look for other symptoms than a simple over-fragmented hard drive.
On checking the firewall log, I discovered port scans coming from two or three IPs during the last 48 hours.
The IPs are 209.18.47.61 and either 204.86.118.19 (or 20,21) or 66.35.58.75 (or 76-77).The IP 209.18.47.61 is associated with domain "belfalest.com" and registered with Tierranet Inc.
The IPs 2014.86.118.19 (20-21) and 66.35.58.75 (76-77) are registered with Dreamhost, LLC with no domain owner visible.
Although I am reluctant to raise what is likely to be a false alarm, port scans are hostile behavior and this series of scans is associated with simultaneously depressed system performance.
Any suggestions about what post-scan checks I should put into place before resuming normal operations?

Hi all

First, thanks for all the great advice this forums puts out!

I was struggling to install W7 64 bit (freezing at 'Welcome') but 32 bit installed OK. I upped the video RAM in BIOS and removed one of the 2 * 2GB RAM cards. 64 bit installed clean at that point...!

I reinstalled the RAM only to find that W7 behaved very strangely - sometimes grey-screening, disabling Ethernet adapter, speakers etc and generally misbehaving, until I removed the 2GB RAM again. All OK.

THEN... In find I can't disable the tapping feature of my mousepad (annoying - too sensitive) even after downloading the Synaptics driver (no tapping page presented so can't disable the damn thing!...)

ANY advice welcomed. Thanks!

A:W7 install experiences the past 2 days!

You are the third person today to post about this RAM issue (I probably missed a few in the other sections).

See this: Works fine with 2gb but doesnt work at all with 4gb?

Im startings to recieve BSoDs now, every few days. The most recent was about half an hour ago, I didn't catch the error message this time except something about "lvrs" if I recall. It started Friday with AV Security 2012, when I removed that Cycbot.G and Cycbot.B showed up. I followed directions for removing AV Security 2012, including replacing the hosts file. Microsoft Security Essentials has been running a full scan (my regular drive plus 4 TB external) for 12 hours, it says it's found something but it is not done yet. Malwarebytes removed a number of files as well. I've run Norman and Esetonline, neither found anything. I also ran DR Web Cureit and it found nothing.
