Hi all, I've had this laptop two mobnths. On opening it one morning, two pins fell out of the hinge connecting the monitor to the keyboard. A further two fell out from the other side shorty afterwards. The monitor is now separating from the keyboard, almost totally on the left hand side. The pressure of whatever is going on is causing the screen casing to separate from the screen also. The screen can no longer stay upright, nor can it be closed. The hinge is completely broken.  I've made several attempts to contact lonovo to ask for help. the first by telephone. I was told I needed to register with the support department (as well as being registered as a lenovo customer) in order to receive support. The technician said she would send me an email of questions that I would need to answer in order to register before she could help me - that email never arrived. I have submitted multiple requests through the support sections of the website but no confimation that they have gone through - the screen just refreshes as if nothing has happened, and when I check the system has no record of my problem. In addition when I try to use the lenovo website to find approved technicians/ repair shops near me, the uk doesnt show as an option in the drop down menu, and When i try to use the location services they don't work. If you think this story is too long, please jump to the end for the executive summary. I bought a Thinkpad Yoga 15 a little over a year ago. I live in Belgium, but close to the Netherlands and Germany border. I bought my laptop in Germany as it was the only place in a 200 km radius that had the laptop on display. After slightly more than a year, the middle part of the power connector on the machine broke. Not because of a fall or something else, just daily use. The machine itself basically moves from the downstairs desk to the upstairs desk, so the only thing that happens that the power cord is removed and reinserted at its new station. This is covered under European Warranty Law, but as I had a 3YR NBD Warranty Extension, I expected this to be fixed without problems. I created a ticket through the (rather archaic) ticketinterface, and expected to be contacted the next day. However, it took 7 days for an IBM Global Services employee, to whom Lenovo apparently outsourced their technical support, to contact me. I was asked to provide some photographs of the problem and to e-mail them to the support person ? he neglected to provide an e-mail address. The ticket system does not support attachments. As a workaround, I uploaded the pictures to my Google Drive and put the link in the ticket tool. This was not seen by the support person, who had told me that a technician would stop by the next day. New Yoga 700-141SK: Ran the Lenovo Support Center Hardware Scan and the Video Card Mathematical Operations Test has failed rendering the Report: WVC007002-UL7BPL. Is there a tried and proven solution out there? I have had a look at the solutions on the forum and am not satisfied that the solutions offered prove that the problem has been resolved. It is reasonable to expect Lenovo to make available a solution as a matter of course instead of end-users of "afflicted" Lenovo devices having to request/search for a solution(s).

I bought the laptop in April 2016. Started having issues closing the laptop (made grating noise and felt like something inside was crunching) and screen around the hinge sortof came off around March 2017. Was in middle of submitting my PhD thesis so couldn't take it to repair rightaway. A week later, the plastic part outside the hinge broke off and hinge completely came off. Took it to JB HI-Fi on 14th April 2017 and they sent pictures to Lenovo. There are no signs of external damage, laptop has been used and taken care of properly and Lenovo refuses to cover it under warranty. Absolutely unacapptable!! Called Lenovo customer support on 5th May, technician asked for addtional photos of the hinge from all angles to have another assessment. Currently awaiting a call back from that assessment. Looked at other blogs and saw other people having same issues with Lenovo IDeapad 100. Will be reporting the issue to consumer protection affairs as clearly not an issue associated with mishandling or external damage. So frustrating that less than a year and have to deal with this.

I contacted support center in India and they said to conect support center in US.  I know that this machine is not supported in India, but now that the screen is broken and I am in India it has to be replaced. Hey there, Both hinges of my Ideapad 300-14ISK are now broken after 6 months of light use. The right one started to freeze after less than 2 months from the purchase date. It has resulted in breaking the LCD cover as a result as I opened or closed the lid. About a month later, the left hinge did the same. I can't open or close the lid at all now. I am now looking for a replacement for those hinges since I gave up on trying to resolve this with the support team although it is still in the warranty (however I bought it from outside the US. They're claiming that's why they can't help me). The Lenovo website has 2 parts for the hinges for this model but I can't understand the difference between them. First one is "5H50K14044 - HINGE L+R LIMR L300-14IBR" while the second one is "5H50K14032 - HINGE L+R L300-14IBR". I can't figure out the difference between both parts. The only difference in the name is the "LIMR" word in the description of the first one. Does anyone understand what the difference between both parts is? Thanks!

I've noticed a few posts on this issue (lenovo Y50-70 touch screen hinge breaking).  I bought my laptop via Amazon in July 2015 so it should still be under warranty (even though the tech support website says it is not....it also thinks that the warranty started in January 2015).  I, however, have had zero success with contacting technical support for help (I talked to a representative on the phone; she couldn't help me but said I would be called withing 48 hours.  It has now been 168 hours and I've received no phone call; I also submitted a request via the web 72 hours ago and have received nothing.  And I can't get anywhere with the online "contact us" since it won't recognize the serial number of my machine).  Anyone have a phone number or other suggestions?  At this point, I'm very frustratred with (a) the product and (b) the technical support from Lenovo.

In December of 2015 I bought my daughter a Lenovo 300-15ISK IdeaPad. In many ways it was a good laptop, but it wasn't durable and I wouldn't buy another one. After 5 months (May 2016) part of the housing around the power connection was broken. Because of this the power cord wouldn't plug in all the way and the IdeaPad wouldn't charge. I took it back to where I had purchased it (MicroCenter) to be repaired. I was told that this type of repair was not covered by the warranty, and the price they quoted me was over $300 (about 3/4 of what I paid for the laptop). I was upset that the repairs weren't covered and that they were so expensive. Other places near me had similar prices for this repair. Luckily I was able to jury-rig a solution so the power connection would stay in place and the IdeaPad could be plugged in and charged. My solution lasted until late 2016 before I needed to adjust it again. That 'solution' lasted until this March before it failed again. This time the power connection became detached from the interior of the laptop. So I opened up the laptop in order to fix it again. This IdeaPad was clearly not designed to be repaired -- opening it up was an adventure which strained my abilities and patience. I was able to reconnect the power connection and reclose the laptop, but the IdeaPad will no longer start. So I am left with a bricked IdeaPad, a poor opinion of the durability of Lenovo products, and a worse opinion of Lenovo warranty terms.

HI, so i'm thinking about buying this,  https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/store/d/lenovo-ideapad-flex-5-14-2-in-1-pc/91jb40s7kj8g/h3lk?activet... i'd like to know, if it supports PCI NVME drives.  I know it has an M2 slot, as well as a regular sata 2.5 slot, so i can put 2 drives, both SSD at once.  But for the m2 slot, would it have to be SATA or can it be NVME?  Thanks for any help.

Hello, I only found out after purchasing the Y510P laptop that it for some strange reason does not support 5Ghz networks, only 2.4Ghz. This results in me having insanely slow connection every single night around peak hours (7-11pm), and I'm unable to do anything like watching movies, playing games or download stuff. Does anyone know exactly how to upgrade the wireless card on this laptop so it supports 5Ghz networks? Do I have to go out and buy another wireless card, or is it software upgrades like drivers only? I'm not a computer major so a walkthrough would be appreciated. Thanks.

In their ARK description, Intel admits that they support `vt-d` virtualization technology on i7-6700HQ Processor. But nowhere in Bios (version E5CN56WW), it has mentioned on how to enable it. The only related configuration seems to be named Virtualization which is enabled, but I can't confirm it by enabling IOMMU on my Linux kernel (nothing appears in `/sys/kernel/iommu_groups/` folder). So I wanted to know if it supports this virtualization technology and if yes, how I can enable it? Thank you

Hello all, I purchased a Lenovo Ideapad Y700-17ISK part # 80Q00011US, and according to case manager assigned to my case, 100 days ago. The notebook was mis-represented by a sales rep, and when I got the machine and it didn't have the second hard drive bay in rear of machine, which I was told the 80Q00011US had. The machine also had a mild display issue, but rather than report it and spend 2+ weeks without a machine, I ignore the issue. It didn't affect daily usage anyways. So 10 days ago, the machine dies during a reboot. Seems the MB fried. I have been fighting and waiting (mostly waiting) for over a week for a case manager (Crystal) to contact me, which finally happen @ 7:30 AM PST yesterday. The case manager was not customer friendly, refused the replacement or refund options I requested, stated they would ONLY repair the system. Her cause for "rejecting" those options was because I didn't report the display issue in the first 30 days (I have enough exp. (35 Yrs.) in computers to know a bad spot in display is NOT going to fried a MB). Conservation got heated. I refuse the repair option because I know what they will do is replace MB & Display, and return other parts back to the machine (parts that very well could have been damaged when MB died, leaving me with a US$1,300 refurbished machine). I then requested to speak with her supervisor since I was tired of being BS-ed, only for her to claim there was no-one higher to speak to, and her actually hang... Read more

Hello, My laptop configuration:OS: Windows 10 64 bits (up-to-date)Model : Lenovo Ideapad Y700 15ISK (80NV)BIOS : CDCN37WW Five days ago the keyboard suddenly stopped to respond (nb : the Num Lock led remained on). I tried to restart Windows but since it could not (stucked on the reboot screen) I pressed the power button and heard a "clack" sound.When I restarted the computer the hard drive made some noices and the fans started to turn at high speed for ~3 seconds.NB : I upgraded to bios CDCN35WW few days before. After the incident I updated to CDCN37WW.  Today the problem happened again (keyboard not responding). Before trying to reboot I unpluged and pluged back my mouse (Lenovo gaming mouse). As I expected, it did not function once I pluged it back. I tried to log out before rebooting.At that time Windows crashed and I saw the BSOD for 1 second before the computer shut down and reboot showing the Novo Button Menu (the keyboard was still not responding at this time).I rebooted by pressing the power button, once again some worrysome electrical noices while I was doing so.The computer restarted and once again noices from the hard drive + fans at full speed. Any suggestion ? Are BIOS updates bugged ?Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi. I have a problem with my newly bought Lenovo Ideapad 320. I recently bought the laptop around 1 week ago. It is a great laptop with good specifications. Though I have noticed some rather dissapointing dents and other problems on the body of the laptop. Below are the pictures of the dents and some other problems too.   As you can see in the picture, the touchpad is dented in a circular form.   Some of the keyboard keys seem to be at faulty because. The height of the keyboard keys are not even. It looks like someone has violated the keys playing games or what not.   The metal near the touchpad seems to be bending upward. These are the dents I mentioned above. I have tried reaching out to Lenovo Support by filling up the form online. Though it has come to a dead end since I have not received any reply. I hope the Lenovo moderator itself can help me through this problem. I paid a lot of money for this laptop and I was hoping for none other than a perfect condition for the laptop itself. It was rather dissapointing to face this problem. Here's hoping that this will be covered by my warranty. I'm hoping help from other users from Lenovo community too. Thanks.

Good morning, i have buy also a Lenovo Ideapad 310 15 ABR with dual graphic R5 and Radeon R6 M435DX.After 3/4 month with Radeon driver upgrade i see that the notebook restart during work. I am not sure if this was due to this problem.After the reboot during my work at notebook i have a persistent black screen on logon (when need to enter the user password) for several minutes with only mouse cursor visible. Three week ago i see that graphic was slow.Then when i see the Task Manager was present only R5 integrated AMD video card with 512 MB of diedied memory.Radeon R6 M435DX with 2 GB of memory was not visible.I try to change on BIOS on Dual Graphic Card and switchable graphic card, but with no result.If i see system information i see Radeon R6 M435DX like cached hardware.On device proprety: "Currently, the hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45). To solve the problem, connect the device to the computer again."Lenovo Vantage do not found problem. There are problem with Radeon R6 M435DX device?I can open the notebook to see the device or this invalidate the product warranty?

Great beginning with a poor ending
Around 3 months ago I?ve decided that it is time to buy a new laptop. I?m a programmer and for me it is a long time relationship.I?ve spent nearly a month researching and I?ve been hesitating between Dell Latitude 7390 and the brand new Lenovo X1 Carbon 6th Gen / 2018. I?ve always been a big fan of the Latitude brand and been using them for over 8 years. But the Lenovo Thinkpad caught my eye due to a really good design, long battery life and it being lightweight. The specs were also really good and the overall performance seemed nice. I thought to myself: ?You can?t get that wrong with Lenovo, right??.

My initial impression of this laptop was really good. Despite not being fully ?Ubuntu ready? and forcing me to spend a fair amount of time tuning it, I would say I was surprised with the overall performance and robustness of this piece of hardware. Hello, I bought lenovo yoga 500 14 ISK on January 2016. After 1,5 years later i aware that there is some problem on the left bottom side (near the hinge) than one week later i saw that screen and back lid seperated from left bottom side and when i look at in i saw that the screw hole is broken from inside and the screw is not tightening the back lid anymore. And my pc never dropped. It is under 2 year warranty and after i sent my pc to Turkey technical service, they said that your actions are completed and when i see the pc right side is broken. First of all i do not want to take back but they said that you can not take pc back so they force me to take my pc. day  by day crack is going bigger and bigger. When i called technical service they said that me (laughing) i forced the pc lid which is 360 degree. and also they said to me opening the lid from only one side causes this problem.  It is not written anywheere taht "dont open lid from left or right side" . I used 7 -8 years lenovo and also2 years work pc laptop Lenovo in very hard conditions and there is no even 1 problem. But my latest pc is falling apart day by day . Not a laptop anymore because opening lid will make my pc not work soon so lid is always open. I need Lenovo center help because people in Turkey unfortunately doesnt help for money. I have a new 2017 11015ISK Lenovo ideapad, sorry to say, that after hardly any use and just over a year has started to give me a major headaches!First it loss battery power.  Eventually I found help through Lenovo system update applications installedon it and was able to update the bios and firmware.  Worked fine for a month now losing battery power again! So I started a lenovo idea notebook health & support hardware scan to see what else I could find to help.It's been almost 24 hrs and it seems stalled on the last 35% of the scan. I tried to cancel it but it says the scan is still in progress...What gives???Truthfully I'm sorry I bought this piece of junk since I've had other brands of laptops over the years that have never had any problems at all!!  So why is Lenovo exhibiting all kinds of so called repair nonsense and error support such as I've mentioned, BUT with no real help or solutions available to it's consumers??And yes, I've read the other forums pertaining to the issue, checked and rechecked my laptop and kept it (I thought) in top running condition.  Did all the required updates, etc; and remember it's barely a year old!!So far it's trying to test my anger control since it's a new computer that I've not abused it nor over used it in anyway.Any suggestions before I pitch it out the window?Thank you

My laptop's monitor is broken, so I use an external monitor plugged in through an HDMI cord. I updated to Windows 10 and can't figure out how to toggle between display settings. I know you can do Windows + P and select expand, but seeing as I have a broken laptop monitor I can't do anything.

I, too, have had the same issue that users in this thread are reporting. I have a U410 bought in the spring of 2014. There was a break at the hinge and the screen is separating from the lid. I've never dropped the computer, this issue arose one day after general, every day use. I've attached photos of the issue for others to reference.

I am not having a very good repair experience. My exactly (to the date) 1 year Ideapad U410 hinge broke. Was not dropped or put pressure on - just poor workmanship. Sent to the 'authorized' repair centre in NOrth Bay Canada. Turn around time is 7 business days. All I get is a message - waiting for parts.  This is terrible when a large company like Lenovo can't get parts where needed.I am going through a very rough time as my business is affected

I paid for 3 years of support and accidental damage in home support. Together, it cost around $400 on my new XPS laptop. Afew months after I bought XPS 15 9560, I pulled out the charging cord, and a round piece of plastic that was inside the port came out too.
I called technical support at 5 pm EST, and received someone in Southern India. I gave them my information, and they confirmed that I had service. They then fought with me for 15 minutes, telling me I could NOT have any in home service. The representative, who kept calling me by my first name (no respect)  said I had to send my laptop to a depot in Texas for them to identify the issue. Finally, after I insisted, the representative, S. Sirya Kiran, FINALLY allowed me to get in home support IF I sent him photos of the damage. I did. Finally, I received an email telling me to select a date for service, which I did, 12/18/17 between 9 am and 1:00 pm .
I took time off and waited. No one came by 11:30, or called. So I contacted World Wide Tech Services. They then told me they didn't have enough techs to handle my area, so they were NOT coming. I asked why no one gave me the courtesy of a phone call and they had no answer. They said a new company, Unisys, would contact me. (I doubt they ever will.)
Is this what Dell gives people for their money as far as support and accidental damage in home service for $400? This is an outrage.

/ Memory Parity Error - System was halted*** that lasted for a few hours. I had to hold the power button in for several seconds each time
to shut it down. I ran both the Microsoft Windows Memory Diagnostic tests, as well as the Memtest 86 , each several times. The results were always
"no memory errors". I attempted a few times, unsucessfully, using the F11 key to reach the Acronis recovery partition. I booted using my XP
disk but was unable to re-install. Windows would begin to load and then the blue screen with the same error message would occur. Finally,
I was able to access the Acronis recovery manager and restore my pc but on reboot it began to run ChkDsk. Now it keeps rebooting and running
a new disk check over and over and over..........................I have tried to cancel the ChkDsk using the keyboard but it keeps running. I'm at a loss, as to what else,
if anything I can do, (besides ripping my hair out by the roots)

UPDATE: I was waiting for the Dell hardware diagnostics test results to finish. It took several hours and basically the same result as the memory tests. No hardware failure, I'm thinking motherboard?

Hello, I have an HP Pavilion x360 - 13-s109nl (ENERGY STAR) and unfortunately the touchscreen has broken due to a fall. I have contacted the assistance and an employed has proposed me to sobstitute it. The cost is 300 ?. I have spent 800 ? to buy the pc and now you thank me in this way? It is very absurde!  In my opinion an honest price is 50/60 ?, considering the expedition and the touchscreen. It isn't correct that I have to pay the manpower too. I will never buy more HP products and I will advise against your company. If I spend my money I want to be sure to receive a good assistance.

Has anyone seen that phenomenon? RA works fine with ie7, but with ie8 it quits working. This is on a Windows XP Pro connecting (or trying to connect) to another XP box. Thanks for any help or info.
