Q: Not Able to Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro on Inspiron 13 5368 2-in-1

Dear All,
I Had just bought a new Windows 10 pro CD from a retail shop.
But my Dell Inspiron 13 5368 2-in-1 is not letting me to chose windows 10 pro in the start of installation process .
It continues itself choosing the windows 10 home for the new installations every time I tried.
I tried doing clean installation by removing the default partition but no solution come up.
Please help and advise to install windows 10 pro in my Dell Inspiron 13 5368 2-in-1.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

If you have a retail license, you may be able to go to the Activation page and change the License Key there.
The way you normally upgrade to pro is to get an upgrade from Microsoft and it installs over the current Home version. But since you have the license you could try changing it.
This may effect any recovery options you have available since the Dell recovery is for the home version.

This has been asked before.  M.2 SSD support is in the 7000 series - not the 5000 series.
Yes, there is an M.2 slot for a WLAN card - but not for a solid state drive, as in the 7000 series.

First of all, sorry if this is in the wrong place, I am new to these forums.
I want to use Windows 8.1 as my main operating system on my Dell Inspiron 13 5368 laptop. Windows 8.1 installs just fine, and the drivers are all there, but I cannot get the touchscreen to work. When I go into the System control panel, it says that "No Pen or Touch input is available for this Display". The touchscreen works just fine on Windows 10, but I cannot use Windows 10 due to my software not supporting it. Plus, I have a Win 8.1 Pro license, and I would like to use it.
There don't seem to be any drivers for the touchscreen, so I am a bit lost. Is there a way to get the touchscreen working, or am I forced to go the Linux route? Thanks!

Hi there. I'm having an intermittent issue with the display on startup. It will sometimes startup with a screen full of vertical lines that completely cover the screen. I was able to get past it once tapping the F1 and the power button simultaneously. It's still under warranty and she has been extremely happy with it thus far. I did a "soft" wipe of the drive and have been downloading Windows updates for 2 days now. Is this an issue that can be detected by remote connection or is this something that will someone will have to fix on-site? Thanks for any help!!

I have bought an Inspiron 5368 last August 2016. It was working fine. However, yesterday the Speaker Volume suddenly fades and becomes very quiet when listening to audio.
It is very annoying. I have to restart the laptop to make it loud again. Even with a restart the sound fades again once I start playing audio.
I have tried solutions in the FAQ: en.community.dell.com/.../19994938
but none proved a solution.
Is there not a concrete fix for this? This is not good.

Hello! I have a new Inspiron 13 5368 2 in 1 laptop that I've owned for about a week. I love the laptop so far...other than the touch pad. The touch pad works, though it seems to somewhat unresponsive at times and it just doesn't seem precise. When I'm using the touch pad, the pointer doesn't work nearly as accurately as it does when I have a usb mouse plugged in. I've used laptop touch pads before, though this one seems to fight me more than usual. It seems less responsive when my finger movement slows down for more precise movement. At times, the pointer isn't moving when my finger is moving across the touch pad.
Anybody else experiencing this with this laptop? If so, are there any driver downloads or setting that can fix the issue?

I have a brand new Inspiron 13 5368 (arrived less than six hours ago as of this writing) and the speakers don't appear to work at all.  I've rebooted, disabled Intel Display Audio, and updated the device driver (and subsequently rebooted three more times), all to no effect.  I can get audio through the headphone jack no problem.  I've gone into the BIOS to confirm that audio is enabled (it is) and into diagnostics to run a speaker test (I heard nothing).
My thinking is that that last thing is the important part, and the speaker test not working indicates that, well, the speakers aren't working--they're defective, or got damaged during shipping.  Does that sound right, or have I missed something?

Andrew, that's correct -- the speakers are either damaged or disconnected, if no sound is heard during the test called ePSA "perform quick audio check". It's a hardware test and not susceptible to problems that might otherwise be caused by the audio driver, mis-configuration, or Windows.

Neither of the driver packages for the Realtek IR webcam work. One just gives me a "Device cannot start 10" error and the other starts but doesn't function and causes a BSOD on shutdown/reboot.

I'm using an Inspiron 13 5368 2-in-1 with Windows 10 home and the drivers in question are listed in the drivers page for my specific service tag. The generic drivers do work, but do not support Windows Hello as the IR functionality is needed.

A few days ago I got a notification from "Dell update" about important driver update.One was The video driver Intel HD Graphics, A12 for 520 and others.I installed it and got black screen with some light flashing but nothing to do.I had to do many restarts before I for some reason got a "normal" screen and was able to reinstall the old driver - every thing worked and no problems.Once again I installed the new driver and again black screen. Even when I sometimes got a "normal" screen - when the pc went to Sleep I got black screen - so I had to go back to the old driver and keep it.There must be a bug in the new driver so I will keep the old one until a new one comes without problems.It is not easy to get through to Dell to tell about the problem, so I hope they maybe will see this.

Hi, It has been 5 months since i purchased my DELL Inspiron 13 (5000 series).
Lately it has begun flashing bright white light instead of turning on the screen when i turn it on. The bright flash shows visible but thin lines on the screen when i click using the touch screen or the touch pad and disappears to a blank screen after the click. I understand the system turns on but the screen does not display. It happens at times; randomly. Other times it turns on fine.
I have tried the built-in test for the screen. Once the test was successful but when i tried it again the colorful bars did not appear, instead the flashing light would appear when the colorful screen was supposedly changing color. What could have gone wrong? What is the solution? Thanks.

Hi There,
I bought Dell Inspiron 13 5368 2-in-1 a few months ago, the laptop was one of my favorite laptops ever, hence, I was using it heavily.
Sadly, the touchscreen stopped working suddenly without obvious reasons. Everything else is normal. I checked the screen or the laptop for any possible physical damage but I could not find anything. the screen is working totally fine but the touchscreen functionality is dead.
I reinstalled the device drivers without success. I have also checked the power management options and did the diagnostics.
I don't prefer to send the laptop back to dell because all my applications and files are in this laptop. 
Could you help me out find the problem, its driving me nuts :/

I have Inspiron 5368 and whenever I change my display resolution options, my laptop starts to logoff and restarts the whole system after I click apply to any display resolution option. However, I am using windows 7 a copy of my own because I don't like windows 10 and a friend of mine said that could be maybe of the drivers not installed or any sort of issue regarding the drivers but I don't think so.

Any suggestions why this happens please ?

I get a 2000-0511 Processor Fan Fail error and cannot correct it. I tried updating the driver and cleaning the air vent slots at the bottom but I still get the error. The machine is still under warranty until 12/2/2017.
How can I fix this or can I send it back t Dell for repair?

Does the system overheat? Do you hear the fan spin?
Update the BIOS and restart and check.
If the issue stands unresolved, Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us. These are onboard diagnostics and they might possible pick some error if the hardware is not functional.

I have a Linux install on a USB stick and would like to test it on my Inspiron 13-5368. I really don't want to mess around with changing any UEFI settings. I just want to change the boot order for a one time boot up. I know F2 gets me into the system setup. Would F12 or some other key present me with the boot order?

Hi Guys,
New laptop Dell Inspiron 13 5368 2-in-1 was bought in November 2016.
It worked fine during certain period; however, rather weird issue with sound started occurring. It disappears randomly. For example, sound can disappear during Skype call (the main purpose of laptop usage). It disappears almost completely; it is very hard to hear something. In the event of regular Skype call (when sound is present), you can hear your own voice with some extra noise.
Several scenarios were performed:
1) Reinstalled drivers from official Dell website;
2) Unchecked the “Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device” (speakers -> properties -> advanced)
3) Selected “do nothing” in Sounds -> Communications
4) Driver was changed to Realtek High Definition Audio Driver from Dell website
5) Driver was changed to standard Microsoft one
Reinstalled drivers in different order

1) Reinstalled Windows 10 using the recovery disk from Dell support website
2) Installed drivers according to the “Installation order” section at http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/inspiron-13-5368-2-in-1-laptop/drivers/advanced
Sound disappearing frequency is random, from one week to 1.5 months.
Then sound can appear in one of the following cases:
1)     By itself, without any action
2)     Reboot
3)     Reinstalling audio drivers

I just received an Inspiron 5000 5368 last Tuesday (Jan. 10, 2017) and everything works except the hard drive activity light doesn't work. When the power adapter is plugged in to the computer, the light does work, but any hard drive activity does not show (It should blink with activity). When the power adapter is unplugged, the activity light does not work at all. I've applied all the firmware updates at the Dell support site for my machine but no joy.
I did find in these forums a key-combination (Fn + H) that does activate the hard disk activity light, but it only works when invoked at the Windows 10 desktop and only for that session. If I restart the computer, the hard disk activity light no longer works, but once I'm at the Windows desktop, I can enter Fn+H and it works again. It seems to be someone forgot to put the command for hard drive activity light in the boot loader code. It's a hassle to do the key combination all the time.
Is there any way I can get this fixed remotely? Or can I get a new machine with this fixed?
I called Dell tech support but the line went dead after a few minutes speaking with a tech support person.

I have owned this laptop 2 Days. Was a gift from my mom.
Here is the issue:
The PC is running windows 10 home:
When I received the PC I installed the Windows 10 Anniversary update.
I set it up. That said I began installing some of my apps.
I set my POWER SETTINGS to have the Computer go into SLEEP mode when I close the lid.
OK. I did that on my way home from My Meeting  where I used it for over 2 hours.
When I opened the laptop when I got home NOTHING...Hit the Power switch...NOTHING...
Finally....I tried holding the power switch and the VOLUME switch and it FINALLY started up in DIAGNOSTIC MODE.
It says these tests would take 4 hours?? EXIT FAST: IT was already 11pm ....The computer restarted....OK...that's good.
Went to support page and had it check MEMORY, HARD DRIVE and Processor: ALL GOOD.
INSTALLED software to customize DRIVER installation to what needed to be updated:
Graphics driver and Chipset Driver installed. Great...
Tried the laptop...restarted, closed the lid--opened it....instant on WOOHOO....
Closed the lid and WENT to BED.
This morning OPENED THE LID NOTHING....NO STAR UP. Push Power button...NOTHING
HOLD power button: NOTHING....PLUG IN... Let it sit.....push power button NOTHING...
Then: a few minutes more...Started FINALLY.
QUESTION: WHY Doesn't  the computer start after a LONG sleep? WEIRD.
I thought the advantage of windows 10 was instant on??
Start Splaining: SOMEONE please or this is going back.

The AUDIO FADE PROBLEM is an issue with this laptop and I am wondering if it is related to the above.
I have upgraded to the latest BIOS and drivers using the Dell Product Support pages.
Every other day I have to reinstall the Realtek Audio Device to get audio from streaming media.
The current Driver Version is from Realtek Semiconductor Corp. Date 12/08/2016 which is what it defaults to upon reinstall.
I suspect that for whatever reason Dell has not yet come up with a fix. Has it something to do with the fact that although I bought the laptop new, it had been upgraded from Windows 8 to 10? (A fact that I only discovered later)

I'm running Windows Vista Business sp2 on an Old Inspiron 530 desktop. I'd like to upgrade the op sys to Windows 7 if possible. I love this computer. It is so smooth and resilient. It has an Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2220 @ 2.40Ghz 2.40 GHz, 4 GB Ram, 32 bit. I was told that I could if I updated the BIOS. I have an Inspiron 620 (mid 2011) - on your support site it indicates:
Dell has not confirmed that this product can upgrade to Windows 10. Some drivers, firmware, applications, and connected devices may not work as you would expect.
For systems that fall into this category, does this mean that Dell will never confirm that this system can upgrade to Windows 10, or just that you haven't had a chance to test this particular model, but you eventually will?

I have the Inspiron 620 and tried the windows 10 update. All seemed ok although the video playback was strange, I assumed codecs would need updating. The next start up came with no sound, I tried updating drivers with no luck, I then tried the front headphone jack and surprise, the sound was fine. After a little more playing around the sound came back on (not sure why) .The next day no sound again and very grainy video, after a couple of unproductive hours I restored the machine back to windows seven. This did not come without problems though, the factory installed OS image has been removed and all system scheduled tasks have been corrupted. It has taken a few days to get the machine running ok but restoring the system tasks is complex and the best way to fix this and I assume the recovery image will be a full restore using the system back up discs I made when the machine was new. I have tried asking Dell the question but they do not seem interested in the many many Inspiron users across the world.

I have a Inspiron 17R-2nd GenInspiron 17R English FastTrack, Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit.
Just few weeks ago got a windows10 upgrade and after the upgrade the machine is very slow.

Hi, I spent countless hours and download allowance trying to upgrade my Inspiron 580 desktop from Windows 7  to Windows 10 - this after the initial checks told me that is was compatible (last year).
After going over my data allowance three times, I had to stop the automated Windows updates (Win 10) and contacted Microsoft Support - they tried various time to assist via remote control, without success - and only yesterday the ninth differend MS Customer Support agent checked if the Inspiron 580 is in fact (still?) compatible for a Windows 10 upgrade.
Imagine my surprise and frustration, when she sent me a link that my desktop PC was not compatible - hence my note here now: Anybody can give me hints and tips how to successful upgrade to Win 10, which drivers to look out for (which I might need to change) and what else I need to be careful of.

This upgrade totally screws your audio output, it doesn't   recognise the conexant device. As usual Dell disclaim any responsibility for this although crowing that windows 10 upgrade will be trouble free. What's the point of an upgrade if it downgrades your computer's functions?

I just finished upgrading to Windows 7 64-bit from Vista 32-bit (which came with my machine) on my Inspiron 1420, by using the custom installation from a Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade disc.  I was kind of intimidated about necessity of 64-bit driver since there is no 64-bit support option on Dell's website.  So having gone through it successfully now, I thought I would share how I did it for those who may be thinking about the upgrade.
Chipset, Audio and 3945abg Wireless:
Although Dell does not list support for 64-bit drivers for the Inspiron 1420 on its driver homepage, there are three drivers on that page that do support both Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit.  These drivers are for the Intel Chipset, Sigmatel Audio and the Intel 3945abg wireless card.  Note that the Inspiron 1420 booted fine for the first time after the Win7 OS was installed, and the wireless card and audio were functioning with the Win7 native drivers.  So the Dell drivers are not absolutely necessary.  However, I decided to install the Dell chipset and wireless drivers from the 1420 driver page in case they would be more efficient.
Touchpad and Quickset:
Now, Dell's 1420 driver page does not have 64-bit drivers that may be used for the touchpad, quickset functions (external audio buttons) or video card.  After booting Win7, I found that my touchpad lacked the scroll features and only the mute button for quickset worked.  However, no quickset graphic... Hi....I recently got a "new" open box Inspiron 14R 5437.  After getting it all up to date, I decided to go with the 10 upgrade.  The upgrade procedure went well,.....but I have multiple issues with the task bar area....no start menu, no Cortana or search,.....nothing works as expected in the clock/date area,.....some of the other taskbar icons will respond to right click,...but left click to open does nothing.....
I decided to roll back to 8.0,......then went to 8.1,........tried 10 again,..still issues as before.
Any suggestions what to do to fix this?

Had the same problem after Win10 upgrade, my 3520 had a black screen and 3 beeps.  NONE of the traditional resets/setup/fixes worked! The only way I got mine and a neighbors 3520 going again was to remove the CMOS battery, which resets it enough to let you in the BIOS via the "F2" key at the now visible -Dell start-up screen- and then you can set the BIOS to reload the default values and restart.  Now you should be able to get in to your previous windows OS or Win10 (depending on how far the Win10 Upgrade got before it died) -in my case back to Win7 and Win8.1 for my neighbors.  The hard part is getting to the CMOS battery... take the laptop apart (all the way) AC/battery removed, remove keyboard (4 small push in  tabs along top of keyboard) then remove 3 cables (all marked with blue color/tabs) 1.) flip brown cable connector clasp to the right to remove keyboard cable, 2.) lift brown connector to remove power cable (upper left) and 3.)  lift brown connector to remove track pad cable.  Next remove 2 screws from the hole now open from where the keyboard was removed (the only 2 screws down brown plastic holes, middle left and upper middle) Now flip over laptop and remove all screws from bottom and then flip back upright and separate top of case from bottom, you have to gently pry apart at several points (guitar pick is a great tool or small screw driver) around case until top pops off, set aside.  The CMOS battery is a round flat cr2... Hi Thanks for reply. My friends Inspiron 1545 came pre-loaded with Vista Home Premium 32 bit. He bought the activation key from Sofoway in Banbury. They sent a link to Microsoft to download Windows 7 Pro 64 bit., which I did for him, as he’s not computer literate. I clean installed Windows7 Pro and then did the free upgrade to Windows10 Pro 64 bit. His computer was running fine. He came to pick it up from my place. I showed him it running Windows 10 and he was happy. Then about ten days later he called me and told me that he’s installed his mcAfee unlimited Internet Security, which he’d purchased from PcWorld. He got the activation key card, went home and went on McAfee, downloaded the software and so he tells me, after it activated, he got a message from McAfee telling him all his drivers were either out of date or weren’t installed. He called them and they passed him to some company on the phone that he doesn’t remember the name of and they offered to update and install any missing drivers for 80 pounds sterling and they requested him to activate Remote Assistant, which he did so they could take over his laptop and configure the drivers and missing drivers. He gave them his, either Debit card, or Credit card details and they took the 80 pounds from his bank account. Any chance the 32 bit vs 64 bit was involved when McAfee was installed?  Maybe McAfee was for Windows 7 and not 10.
I have a 1545 which seems to run Win 10 fine, although I had previously replaced the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card.
Have your friend check the Event Viewer and go through the logs.  Something may be there which would help lead to solving some problem.  Keeping track of what time something happens would help in finding entries in Event Viewer.

hi, there, one of my laptops that i use for business is a Dell Inspiron E1505 (in properties, it is listed as an "Inspiron I6400" model). the following are its specs:

1.86 GHz (1.87 GHz)
1.00 GB RAM
32-bit OS
Windows Vista Home Basic + SP2
graphics card: ?????????? (i have no idea where to find this info)

i'd like to upgrade this unit to Windows 7 for a reasonable price and then upgrade for free to Windows 10. so, my question is, is this unit ultimately compatible with a Windows 10 upgrade?

i would sincerely appreciate any input from someone who has this laptop model and who has tried to upgrade ultimately to Windows 10. if i can successfully do that, then i can use this unit for mobile sales via the PayPal Here credit card swiper (as an app currently exists for that). that way, i can still use a unit that is fully functional in the hardware and not create more e-waste.  <:-\

Even the least expensive Windows 7 upgrade will set you back upward of $100 -- more than the entire system is currently worth (they seem to be selling between $50-100 on EBay as used, working systems).
Stay with it as is for as long as it stays alive -- it's not worth upgrading the OS, and even Vista has some support life left in it.

Last week I purchased a new desktop from Dell.com. The desktop comes with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit pre-installed and also came with a free copy of Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. Windows 10 came with the desktop in the form of a DVD that I have picutred here: http://i.imgur.com/Z3N84IS.jpg

Does anyone have experience using the Windows 10 Pro 64-bit upgrade disc that comes with this desktop?

I popped the included disc in, rebooted the computer, and then hit F12 to boot from the disc. The disc ran and I attempted to select the option to install Windows 10 and keep my files that are on the drive. It attempted to install but then stopped because there was a "partition missing". So instead, I then tried another option which was to wipe the entire drive clean and install Windows 10. That didn't work either because drive is locked.

I considered upgrading to Windows 10 via the icon in the system tray. But I haven't done so thus far. I wasn't sure it was the best method. I bought my inspiron 3542 (i5 4210u, 4gb Ram, 1TB HDD) 2 years ago. It came with windows 8.1 pre-installed and I've upgraded to windows 10 during the free upgrade period.
However, I would like to replace my existing HDD with an SSD (Amazon: https://goo.gl/tckHx2)

Will my laptop model support the aforementioned Samsung SSD ?
How do I reinstall windows 10 from my existing HDD to the new SSD? note: it's upgraded from windows 8.1 so I don't know how to reinstall an upgraded windows 10.
Would I face any issues for resetting/restoring windows after installing windows 10 on the new SSD?
Are there any drivers(Firmware, GPU, CPU,etc.) that need to be installed for win10 on the new SSD on my inspiron 3542 laptop?

I took the free upgrade to win 10 from 8.1. I have a new XPS with Win10 and wanted alignment. This laptop has 8gb mem with 2.2 cpu. Usually I don't usually upgrade but I felt this laptop was compatible. Since my upgrade I have experienced slower function. I'm not that happy about win 10 in general as my XPS had other issues from day one and I had to do a complete OS reinstall. I think I need another reinstall of the XPS because I lost all my One drive connections in file folder and it won't remember log in and pw that I set to remember - little things like that. Others Inspiron 15 issues. The touch pad is awful but I just use a wireless mouse on the right side of the panel. I keep on having wireless network card issues and will drop off forcing me to run trouble shooter or reboot.any comments welcome. I was thinking of rolling back to 8.1.

Have tried 9 times to upgrade and all have ended in failure. I have tried all the suggested fixes on the internet and nothing works. When I called Dell customer support I was advised to call "Microsoft" for support. They gave me a number. When I called it was a 3 rd party company that wanted to sell me a dix for $399. SHAME ON YOU DELL!!!! Your customer support is terrible.
Anyone who has a suggestion on getting Windows 10 up and running would be greatly appreciated.

1. Run sfc /scannow
Will have 3 outcome as below :
1. Windows integrity cannot find any violation : means OS is stable
2. Found error but able to fix : stable but no major file and registry impacted, but may have issue soon
3. Found error but not able to fix : indicate os having issue.
2. Run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to restore Image health, as the command will capture update from microsoft server.
If cannot try to restore, repair boot mbr and last option only do clean installation.

In the newly deployed GetWindows10 app, there's an option to "Check your PC" - when I choose this option on my Inspiron 14z, I get:
Windows 10 will work on this PC
This PC can be upgraded but there may be some issues.
These devices aren't fully compatible with Windows 10
AMD Radeon HD 7570M (with a bluetooth icon beside it??)
You'll experience problems with your display
These devices might not work correctly after the upgrade
Bluetooth Server (with the same bluetooth icon)
Intel Corporation
I'm not inclined to upgrade if it's going to result in problems either with my bluetooth OR my display. Any change that Dell will release updated drivers to address these issues? Other options?

Hey guys, I'm asking this a little early but some feedback will be great once Windows 10 has been launched.
My specs are as follows;
-Inspiron 5748-8GB Single Channel DDR3L 1600MHz (8GBx1)-1TB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive-Tray load DVD RW Drive (RW to DVD/CD)-NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) 840M 2GB DDR3L-Dell 1704 @ 2.4GHz + Bluetooth 4.0-Windows 8.1 (64Bit) -4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-4510U processor (4M Cache, up to 3.1 GHz)-17.3 inch LED Backlit Display with Truelife and HD+ resolution (1600 x 900)
I would like to know if anyone with the same specs has any issues with their upgrade during and after upgrading to Windows 10, especially with regards to the GeForce graphics card and any high RAM software like Photoshop etc.???

I purchased this laptop in 2006. It was running on WIndows 7 Ultimate, and, before gifting it to a friend I thought I'd try applying the WIndows 10 upgrade.
I was a little surprised, but the upgrade worked with no issues. The video driver is the generic WIndows driver, and display function is fine. All functions are working; wireless, touchpad, sound, Office 2013 apps, browsers (chrome, firefox), antivirus, etc. There are no resource-intensive apps loaded; not used for gaming; but for Internet access, basic office apps, etc. it's working well. 
Totally subjective, but seems a little faster than on Windows 7.

My trackpad occasionally will just stop working. The buttons become unresponsive as well as the trackpad itself. Only way to temporarily fix it is to reboot. I and many others had this issue on Windows 8.1 but it seemed fixed after updating to the A03 bios. Now, on Windows 10 using the A05 bios, the issue is back. Is anyone else having this problem?

My computer is a dell inspiron 14z.

So my wifi was working ok before I upgraded to Windows 8 but afterwards seemed to not even realize it had wifi capabilities. I looked at the Wireless network adapter thing in the device manager and it had a little error icon next to it.

Here's some pictures of the error and device manager that might help maybe.

I've tried updating the driver but it just says that its all good and up to date.

Dell wanted me to pay 120$ for a single customer service session.

I'd be so happy if you guys could fix this.

Anyway I had a quick look on the dell support site and found there are 3 different models for Dell Inspiron 14z Could you tell me which one it is? Also try navigating to the driver downloads page and downloading the wireless network drivers for your model and installing them. Pic Attached




Had a look at the drivers on each of the models and they only seem to support 64bit Versions of Windows 7 & 8, Do you know if you have 32bit or 64bit edition of windows 8? If you have 32bit then the drivers for the hardware probably wont work.

Have new 3847 Inspiron 6847 w/Windows 10 and trying to install GeForce 9400GT graphics card. Cannot get system to recognize the card. Security Boot is off. Is there something that needs to be done with UEFI as well?

LEGACY CSM and Option Roms must be ON with secure boot off and then the LEGACY driver must be used.   The latest and Greatest NVIDIA Driver DOES NOT WORK WITH Geforce 7/8/9 series and older cards because NVIDIA Dropped support for them in April 2016.

When I tried upgrading from windows 7 to 10 on my Inspiron N5050 the screen had the windows 10 logo and spinning dots below it before going black. I had to hard restart my laptop. I contacted dell support  who said windows 10 was not compatable with my computer. They said I needed to restore my OS back to windows 7. When I start my computer I  can enter the bootup menu briefly before it automatically goes the windows 10 logo with the spinning dots. It stays like this for about a minute before going to the black screen. Any help with restoring to windows 7 from this point?
