Xfire License charges

Q: Xfire License charges

We are planning to use XFIRE and Cairngorm/PureMVc in our project. From the sites we understood that these are open source frameworks.Do we get any issues regarding license or any charges if we use XFIRE for deployment in production environment.

Preferred Solution: Xfire License charges

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Xfire License charges

My apologies if I'm off the mark on this, but this is the way I understand it.

Even Open Source products can present licensing issues if you're in a business environment. If the software packages are protected in some fashion, they will almost always contain an End License User Agreement (EULA.) You will likely find the EULA when you install the product. Print and/or read it and see what it says regarding businesses.

If a product does not contain a EULA, the website you obtain the product from should contain the information you are looking for.

If none of the above are true, the issuers of the code are apparently not worried about it and I would use it without issue.

Great laptop that Ive been using for 1.5 years. Recently I've noticed my battery is showing signs of an error other Dell users are reporting.
Laptop charges fine to 76% then it starts alternating from "plugged in, charging" to "plugged in, not charging". Charging after 76% becomes really slow.
What I've done so far:
1. Updated BIOS
2. Updated Dells Power Management tool
3. BIOS can detect the adapter (45W). Im using the adapter that came with the laptop
4. Battery settings in power management and BIOs are set to Standard
5. Completely drained the battery and tried doing a full charge
6. Uninstalled Microsoft ACPI compliant control in device manager then re-installed
Battery diagnostics show the battery is in EXCELLENT health.
Any ideas?

I'd love to ask anyone out there with the above mention setup, how it really performs in game and in idle. Power consumption both idle and load. FPS in high end games, noise, heat and overclock performance. Furthermore is crossfire working without issues (I mean if its supported by the game).

Thanks for any legit info. I'm currently on team green but had enough of ngreedias corporate bollocks. So I just might switch to team RED. Never had any AMD product.

Hi folks,
I am working with a company (that I have actually worked with for over 10 years on a consulting basis) and we are auditing our Microsoft Windows Server and server product licenses and preparing to upgrade Windows Server products.  We have ran into a snag, where the former System Administrator left the company a few years ago, however it was understood that the information regarding the VLSC was transferred to another partner in the company.  A new Systems Administrator has taken over, and we have determined that we do not have this information, including a Microsoft account username and password to access the VLSC and our Windows Server 2008R2 product keys, license agreements, SKUs, and downloads.  Unfortunately, the situation became took a turn for the worse about three months ago when the partner that had this information passed away.  No one at the company has access to this login information.  I currently administer most of their licensing, and have access to their much of their licensing information, download, product keys, etc., but I am clearly missing some very important ones.  I called Microsoft and they were of no assistance.  Since I am an administrator on the network, I can create a mailbox that the VLSC was probably originally registered under, however the VLSC says that Microsoft account is not even valid, not even prompting for the password.
I have a mailbox on their Exchange Server for their domain to prove I am ass... Read more

This machine is a very common model in my environment and I have done many fresh windows installations using the OEM license key without issue. however, on this particular machine, it reports it cannot activate because it cannot contact the KMS for activation.
Again, to clarify, this is the OEM product key that has been automatically pulled over from UEFI and NOT a MAK/KMS key.

I've run diagnostics as typically requested for this type of issue and can provide any additional information you might need. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!!

So u must have an internet problem.

Check to see if your firewall allows Xfire to access the net.
If u are on a router, check it's settings as well. For more info on ports, internet problems, go to xfire's FAQ page on xfire.com

followed by:
The MSIMG32.DLL file is linked to missing export GDI32.DLL:GdiGradientFill

when i start msn, it tells me that the library file MSIMG32.DLL is missing or corrupt. any help would be MUCH appreciated.

A:Xfire and MSN messenger errors. HELP!

Hiya and welcome

First off, lets see if the file MSIMG32.DLL is on your pc:

Go to Start | Find Files and Folders. Type in

And search the entire harddrive. Is it found? If not, go here, downlaod and place it into your c:\Windows\system32 folder:

If it does exist, rightclick on the file and choose Properties, Version tab. Whats the version number?

Now, this may/may not work, so do this. The file that exists in the system32 folder, move it to another folder, say My Documents. Then, downlaod the above file, and place it into your system32 folder. If it doesn't work, we can always put the original back.

Also, which version of Windows are you running?

this is where i get lost lol. all i need to know really is. can i run 2x hd6850 in xfire and in terms of performance wot does it mean that the second card will only run @ x4?

all help is greatly apreciated folks, thanks in advance

A:is my motherboard xfire ready

As you say, the second PCI-E X16 slot will run at X4.

That may still be adequate to support Crossfire. I have no personal experience.

(Hybrid Crossfire is between the onboard graphics and a discrete card. It's supposed to permit power savings by only using the discrete card when it is needed, as in 3D games.)

I wonder whether you'll get any real advantage from Crossfire. You have a pretty good graphics card now - is it falling down on any of the tasks you set it?

Can't Use Xfire Ingame for Battlefield 1942- main game and all mods
I *can* use it in other games such as America's Army.
How can i fix this?

The issue is:
I load up xfire. Ingame is hotkeyed to scroll lock+X. I load Battlefield. -Sometimes the serverbrowser lags really bad but this prolly has nothing to do with it, as it lags sometimes even without xfire running-
Ok well I go to join a server, the screen flashes a few times and battlefield crashes without any notice or dialog box saying it was shutdown, it just plain and simply exits back to desktop.

I have latest NVIDIA graphics drivers: 71.89
I have latest Directx: 9.0c
Dxdiag reports no problems.
Settings are on pretty much low for nearly everything in Battlefield.
AA is off on the Graphics Card
AF is off on the Graphics Card.

A:XFIRE Bypasses update install

There may be a firewall or some other application preventing you from completing the installation of the update.

Try doing the following:

1. Open System Configuration by typing this into the search bar:

2. Go to the Services tab

3. Check the box entitled, "Hide all Microsoft services"

4. Now click Disable all

You will be prompted to restart your computer.

Try installing the update after you have restarted your computer and let me know the outcome.

it has been a while since the last time something went wrong with my laptop, but it's back on and I need your help on this one.

If you're not familiar with Xfire real-time messenger, you can check it out here: Xfire - Gaming Simplified

It's really a simple and easy communication tool to use, especially favorite in gaming communities.

I recently dealt with an issue concerning BS Player and it forced me to install and uninstall a lot of codecs, sometime in the process, it messed up something with my Xfire settings.

There was also this huge crash there once, it crippled and disabled all my display settings, e.g. folders and their appearance, such as thumbnails, sorted either by type or name or even some programs associated with certain file types, such as .zip - GONE! - no idea, where this came from, but I believe it crashed and damaged some registry values and resetted some settings to the default.

This problem is very similar to the outline x show content while dragging issue. It's however only happening, when resizing either the whole messenger (only a very thin outline, so it can be tolerated..) and resizing chat-window, there appears exactly the same thick outline, as it though, it would be dragged, but it shouldn't show that! Because outline was disabled, when dragging the whole window, it's all right, no outline, but when you want to make it smaller or bigger, it shows and it looks awful. Maybe some registry went wrong or I don't know.

I recently installed crysis warhead on my 64bit machine & got the famous wsock32.dll message. After a lot of research, ive discovered a lot of games are suffering from this problem.

On extensive reading, xfire appears to be part of the problem & usually needs to be disabled as an unacceptable workaround. The other part of the problem appears to be related to drm on a 64 bit pc, since 'CmdLineExtInsallerExe.exe' is apparantly related to the drm software, & the error mostly appears on computers running 64 bit vista.

Currently there are 2 workarounds i have discovered:

Note: For this tutorial i am using crysis warhead as an example because this is the only game i have that has this problem. You will have warhead installed in a different directory than mine, or maybe a different game with the same problem.

First, is to dump 4 files into the same folder as the game's .exe. So for crysis warhead, id need to find crysis.exe, which is located in my C:\Program Files (x86)\Games\Crysis WARHEAD\Bin32. Your will obviously be different.

First, find these files in C:\windows\syswow64:

Now dump the 4 files into the same folder as the game's .exe. So for crysis warhead, id need to find crysis.exe, which is located in my C:\Program Files (x86)\Games\Crysis WARHEAD\Bin32. Your game install directory will obviously be different.

Ok so I recently rebuilt with a i5 760 Quad 2.8Ghz, 8Gigs A-Data DDR31600 and MSI P55A-GD65 motherboard. Other components if anyones interested are Corsair 850TX, Antec900 Case, BFG GTX275 OC 768Meg GDDR3, dual Samsung 2333SW Monitors, dual Samsung DvDRW and (2) 250Gig HD one WD other is seagate.

Now with all the rebuilding I have done kinda got the itch to put a new video card in. The MSI will support Xfire, so if I go dual cards has to be ATI. I am NOT here to boxing match ATI Vs Nvidia, they both seem to be making quality products and I am not really biased towards either company. I multitask alot, usually on a given day I can have 2 games, browser with 6-10tabs, voice comm, and more running. The game I play that probably is the heaviest on my graphics is CoDMW2 and/or Battlefield Bad Company 2.

The best I can find in information via tomshardware is that a single 5770 is about equal to what I have now, so in theory if I run dual 5770's in Xfire shouldn't it be better? Or would I be better served with a beefier single card such as a GTX470 or a HD 5870? I play WoW, CSS, MW2, BFBC2, UT2004 as well I use photoshop and Illustrator alot as well.

Thanks for any input, looking to purchase in the next 2 weeks.

Hi all,

My computer has been rebooting itself sporadically, and when it comes back in to windows it reports that it suffered a BSOD. The facts are:

So far the BSOD/Reboots have ONLY occurred while the system was idle. This could just be chance, but each time the reboots have occurred I wasn't using the system.
The BSODs/reboots have been occurring roughly 1-2x a week, very infrequent
The BSODs/reboots have only been occurring since I installed my second 5770 to run an ATI crossfire setup
I have reinstalled the ATI drivers already, but the error has occurred since I did that.

I know this sounds trite; but to troubleshoot, uninstall the second 5770 and see if the BSOD's go away. All three of your dumps are nearly identical and blame atikmdag.sys, your video driver.

But before you do that, try updating the following drivers, especially the first two, through the links provided. Out of date drives can cause conflicts and BSOD's. Eliminate these potential conflicts with your video subsystem.

This is my first Asrock mobo, that I got from a buddy of mine, and it's a very nice mobo so far. But, I'm actually having one problem with it though. The sound is nothing but static since I've installed vista sp1. And whenever I try to use something like a media player or anything that has sound, it crashes on me then the whole system crashes on me. It only does it under SP1 too.

Here's the system.
ASRock A-Live XFire e-sata2
AMD 5200 x2 AM2
4gb ddr2 800
EVGA Geforce 9800GTX+
Vista x64 home premium.

Anything I can do? I've tried updating vista to its latest, and reinstalled it already, and also tried new drivers for the realtek

Hey there, I recently got Ace of Spades and I would like to know how to manually detect it on Xfire. I have purchased it using Steam and I'm not quite sure what I need to do to get it to detect since it doesn't detect automatically. Any suggestions?

hey, didn't know whether to put this in utilities or games. it's all game-related so i figured here would be best.

ok. *deep breath* lately i reinstalled windows XP Pro SP2, and i believe my CPU is slightly unstable, either that or my memory. either way my computer needs some new parts. but it runs fairly well. but when i reinstalled it, i gained an unsightly problem.

Upon installing xfire, i discovered that at least 3 parts of it were malfunctional. the ad bar at the top, the info sidebars of the chat windows with avatars, profile links, etc, and the screenshot window you get when you exit a game are ALL white. i can't even click them. and i soon discovered that my problems were not limited to xfire, and this confused me even further.

Steam suffers as well. I installed Steam today and everything works fine. i can see the buttons, tabs, and toolbars at the top, but the actual content in the window is white. nothing. it gets even better....

I own the game pack Star Wars: Best of PC (amazing game pack btw), and when i run the autorun, GUESS WHAT? IT'S BLANK!

this is bugging the crap out of me, because i don't know what's causing it. my main thoughts were Flash Player, Shockwave, or Javascript. nope. i installed them all(correctly as far as i'm aware) and it didn't help a wee bit. my antivirus is Avast! Antivirus, and i've reinstalled xfire 3 times with no luck.

A:Solved: white boxes in Xfire, Steam, and game autoruns.

nevermind. it turned out to be that my ATI Radeon 9550 video card's drivers were corrupted. i uninstalled them, ATI Catalyst, redownloaded the drivers without getting catalyst, and got ATI Tray Tools.

IE 6, Steam and Xfire no longer display any kind of internet content. I can no longer visit the Steam store or news pages, Xfire doesn't show ads (arguably a good thing) and IE doesn't display websites. I'm not exactly sure what's causing the problem, as I've had them installed for awhile, and I've never experienced these problems. DSL connection, SBC is ISP, and Firefox is set as default browser.

I have an Asus X58 motherboard, a pair of ATI 5850 video cards, and a pair of monitors running DVI into the primary 5850 (extended desktop). When I am not running crossfire, my device manager sees 2 5850 cards as does the catalyst control center. I can select "enable crossfire" from the control center; however, when I did that my computer became unresponsive and I had to reboot. When I reboot the computer and click on the performance tab of the catalyst control center, the only option is "AMD Overdrive", the crossfire option is no longer there. The device manager only sees one card. The only way I can get my computer to recognize both cards again is to remove the Xfire cable from the 2 video cards.

Any ideas how to get Xfire to work?

A:Computer stops recognizing 2nd video card when Xfire enabled

try to uninstall CCC and use ATI tray tools, as CCC is known to do these tricks on older cards.

I have AVG 9 (not free), upgraded from 8.5 a few weeks ago. On Dec. 6 it stopped working - even though my license doesn't expire until Dec. 6, 2010, the license is now shown as expired. Reactivating it doesn't help, copying and pasting from the email I received does nothing.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, the license is still showing as expired.

I've gotten no response from AVG at all. Can anyone suggest the next step?

Not sure which category this question should be in, but I've been installing my OS's for years. Someone at my former job had asked me to reinstall the OS on 2 machines one is her work PC and the other is her home PC. Both running XP Pro on Dell machines. I should've done my homework before so I knew what a reasonable price was. I already did the home PC yesterday. She asked me what I was charging and stupidly (since I didn't have any idea) said, "what do you think it's worth?". She said $60 and after about 30sec. of silence from me she followed with, "it's not like your digging ditches...". I was a bit offended by the comment - sounded like I would've made more if I just dug a hole in the ground. Granted, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to install an OS, it take some thought to install it correctly and then configure it to run smoothly and it takes a long time to install everything.

When I first booted up her PC (that she tried installing herself beforehand), there were actually 2 installations of Windows and one ended up on the D partition. Once you got into one that worked, all kinds of "missing...this and that .dll or something else message would be the first thing that appeared.
To top it off, she must've checked something incorrectly when she ordered her machine as she was running a RAID1 array. Something I don't think she would've wanted or needed.

Anyway, I wrote it off as a favor to a colleague for the time it took (9hour... Read more

A:Charges for OS installation?

This can only be answered very broadly. To install and configure an o/s usually takes around 2 hours (if all runs well) and I usually charge around AU$120.00 for this service. I went the route you did first time around and applied "mates rates" until I found that I, all of a sudden, acquired a lot of "mates"! Now I charge the same for everyone regardless of who they are - saves a lot of agro and the client knows what the bill will be. Don't fall for the "I can't afford it" line - if they really can't afford it then they don't get the job done. Most can (at my rates anyway) and will fork out the $$$$'s to get their machine back in running order.

In your case, if a client made comments like "it's not like your digging ditches..." then the price would rise by 50%! People don't take into account that whilst you are waiting for the software to install (and maybe having coffee while it does) it's YOUR time you're using up and, as such, should be billed to the client. The installer may well be doing the work but you MUST be there while it does.

I found that it was worth educating the clients that every time they called you out or came to you with a problem they would be charged for the time, at a minimum rate like AU$50.00, even if the "repair" is something as simple as the speakers plugged into the wrong jack and takes you 30 seconds to fix - you still had to (possibly) travel to the client and diagnose the problem. They, in t... Read more

My battery never charges above 10% and is at 0% or close to 0 most of the time.  Desktop is always plugged in, the power supply diagnostic test passed.  Originally was plugged in to a UPS/surge protector, tried plugging directly into an outlet, does not appear to have changed anything.  The computer has shut down a few times even though it is plugged in - it does start right back up.

I recently had some fraudulant charges go through my paypal account, and am afraid I'm infected with something. I've also noticed my computer going significantly slower than usual since around the time I noticed the charges. After running DDS I was only given one DDS.txt file, and no attach.txt file. I did check the checkmark for attach before starting, and I ran the program multiple times to make sure.

This started this morning... it was fine yesterday.  Basically the laptop only charges when off - based on the charge indicator near charging port. When i boot into windows charging stops and the laptop sleeps frequently as it thinks it is on battery.  If i plug the ac adapter in when the machine is on, the light on top cover blinks 2 times.  Currently at 74% so i don't think it has anything to do with the battery charging function that cycles the battery, but if it does, how do i use my machine and prevent it from sleeping without changing settings?

A:Thinkpad P50, only charges when off

It sounds like airplane power mode was enabled.  Did this behavior start happening after you turned on airplane wireless mode?  ThinkPad has a feature where turning on airplane wireless mode will automatically turn on airplane power mode.  And on the workstation-class systems like P50, airplane power mode has the effect of disabling the AC adapter because it cannot be restricted to less than ~45 watts like airplane power circuits require.
Anyway, try turning off airplane wireless mode (or toggle it).  If that doesn't work, open Lenovo Settings, go to the Power section, and manually disable airplane power mode there.  (I'm assuming you are on Win10.)

My Dell XPS battery charges only to 99%. Technical support said this is a "normal" occurrence if you have "adaptive" charging on in the BIOS. They asked me to update the BIOS and then change it to "custom" charging. The battery now charges to 100%.
Is this normal behaviour or just a messy "fix"? I just want to confirm if this is a papered over fault, because I suspect that it is. Personally I am not too pleased with having to call Dell technical support on the day I opened my new laptop!

Hello everybody,my problem: Lenovo Y700 15 ISK with Windows 10 x64 charges the battery only to 95%. The bar at the bottom always shows "95% plugged in, charging?. I have no battery settings (maintenance mode etc.) activated, especially because I have no software to do so. As far as I know there is no such settings in Windows 10. I just bought it. Have immediately (without looking whether it loads to 95%) formatted the SSD and Installed Windows 10 and Drivers from http://support.lenovo.com/de/de/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-y-series-laptops/y700-15isk?qu...I installed only the Drivers and Lenovo Utility + Lenovo System Interface Foundation (which have no interface). I also tried to install Lenovo Companion and Lenovo settings and change battery settings such as conservation mode, etc. While it change the indicator from "charging" to "not charging" and back it still does not move over 95%. Does anyone have any advice for me? Should I return it?

Hey everybody, I've been troubleshooting this Toshiba Satellite (A215-S7462) laptop last couple of days and I can't seem to solve the problem. The battery on the system for whatever reason will NOT charge while the system is on and in windows. It charges fine while the computer is off. But while on it says "plugged in, charging" yet the battery only depletes.

It was originally running windows vista, but is now running W7-64bit. I've installed all the latest drivers, bios updates, etc. I've also disassembled and cleaned out the entire laptop, and re-applied thermal paste on the CPU. (I originally thought it was a overheating issue.) I'm not too sure where to go from here so any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

A:Toshiba charges while off, but not on

Any ideas? AC adapter? MB issue? Connectors? Battery? Windows power settings?
