Extremly poor performance

Q: Extremly poor performance

Hi, recently my computers motherboard fried (after 2 years of having it) So i thought, bout time i updated so i ordered the following parts:

EVGA e-GeForce 8600 GTS 512MB PCI-E, DVI Video Graphics Card

OCZ 1GB Gold Edition Memory DDR3 1066MHz PC3-8500 CL 7-7-7-21 Dual Channel Gold Layered Z3 XTC Heatspreader

Intel CPU Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 95W Energy Efficient 2.4GHz SLACR G0 Stepping

Asus Motherboard P5K3 Deluxe WiFi Intel P35 LGA775 Core2 Quad / Core2 Extreme / Core2 Duo PCI-E DDR3 Pure Copper Heat Pipe & Stack ATX (DDR3 Only)

And installed Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit and i am experiancing very very poor performance, it strugles sometimes to even have IE open let alone a game which i am deeply into. On my old pc was a OEM version of XP SP2 home and it could run fine lots of processes, games and music all at once but vista jsut doesnt seem right.

Ive turned off all the aero glass and such and set the system to performance over looking pritty because i dont care really what it looks like as along as i can use my programes.

Screenshot: Task Mgr:

ScreenShot: services:

Now i know 1gig of Ram aint that much but ive used vista pc's with the same amount of ram with lower amount of cpu/motherboard/gfx capabilitys run alot smother with aeroglass on.

I know from the screenshots that it doesnt look to bad but thats under vertualy no load, mostly backgrnd programes. Alot of the time the HDD are at 100/sec Utilization (which from what i gather is the max) Going back to xp is looking like it will happen if the performance continues.

If someone can help to get vista working nicely without spending out more cash which i dont have much left of at the moment please post.

Also if im missing any info please post and ill do me best to get it.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

My wife has a pc just about the same spec's as yours but for her videocard is a 7600 and she's running DDR2 800mhz (2gig) and vista32bit
It runs very smooth.

the only thing I can think of is have you updated all the drivers for the motherboard?
is there any other hardware installed?

can you run the Performance Information tool to see what your base score is

you can get to it by right clicking on "My Computer" then click on Windows Experience Index (there should be a number beside it) then click on Update my score

First off, I didn't know whether to post this in gaming or hardware. Sorry.

My question: If there is dust on the videocard and fans or other poor condtions in my computer, can it affect performance in gaming? FPS wise?

Thanks, Andrew.

A:Poor computer conditions = poor gaming performance?

I think any build-up of dust can lead to poor performance due to heat. And heat can lead to crashes, BSODs, etc.

My stepdaughter has a one-year-old Toshiba laptop running Windows Vista and the thing is painfully slow.
I did a little research before posting this. Her computer sat for several months with a discharged battery. I bought a new charger, got the thing running, loaded the 52 upgrades. I did what I could to reduce the processes in the tray so that the system is not being asked to do any more than reasonable, menial tasks.
Granted, it only has 512 meg RAM, but this is the minimum requirement. It's the "Basic User" version of Vista, the machine was bought a couple of years ago and I was a little surprised it didn't have one gig. But I'm sure that Toshiba didn't intend for the machine to be this slow.
Let's say Internet Explorer version 8 is running, and you click on anything else, it just sits there for several minutes before displaying a hollow screen, which takes more minutes to fill in. It says this is a dual core Pentium running at a little under 2 MHz. I ran the "System Resources", or something, utility that's available from the task monitor (something new, not in XP) which shows the system RAM to be around 80% utilized. It seems like it's thrashing, but why?
I am new with Vista, but comparing this system to my wife's five or six-year-old Compaq, running XP with a similar clock speed, the same amount of RAM, and a single core processor, she can run circles around her daughter. Is this typical? I feel like the answer's going to be a resounding, "put so... Read more

I have a MSI Z77A GD65 mobo, and in Windows 7 USB 3 is running very well with up to 120kb/sec on my USB 3 hdd.

Same hdd, same USB 3 port, but in windows 8 only 40-65kb/sec. I have tried to install the Intel USB 3 driver from MSI, but I get a warning, that the Win7 x64 driver has some compatibel-problems, and there is no solution yet.

Anybody know of a beta USB 3 driver for Windows 8? Right now I am using this version 6.2.9200.16420.

Allso my USB 3 HUB is only running USB2 speed in Windows 8, so something is not right.

You must have meant mb/sec, not in/sec...as kb/sec would be terrible.

After having rather high hopes for SSD Performance...I'm disappointed.
I'm glad I got a test unit, because if I would've shelled out the cabbage for this, I'd be a little PO'd.

I have an 8300 Quad Core 2.5 Intel with 4GB of RAM running W7 Pro 64 Bit.
Instead of trying to clone the old drive, I did what I thought was right and did a fresh install.

I loaded up MSE, Office 2010 and all Windows Updates.
Did a couple of tweaks (made sure defrag was off, DMA mode on instead of PIO, disabled indexing)

I have all the latest chipset, mobo, video, etc., drivers.

Yes, it boots into Windows to the desktop faster. No doubt.
Yes, it opens up windows faster and programs SOMETIMES as well.

But it multitasks terrible. If I'm download, installing, etc., anything...and try to move program to program, it's slow. To the point I think it's freezing up.

I've read a few of the tweaks here...and I'm missing something I think.

It's an Imation 2.5" M series 64GB drive. I know it's not the Vertex 2...but it has pretty decent specs behind it. Not the best, but it should do everything my SATA platter drive does better...period.

It doesn't.

What should I be looking for? (It shipped with the latest firmware, and trim is turned on...not like that matters since I only installed Win7Pro fresh a few hours ago...)

Low FPS in games; Witcher 3 went from 50-60fps on high to 10-20fps on ANY setting; same with Rainbow Six Siege and GTA 5.
High GPU Load (90%+) and temperature (53°C) when idle.
Things I tried:
Clean install of nvidia drivers with DDU
Driver rollback from the latest to 358.91
I would get normal performance after restart but the issue would come back within 5-10mins.
I ran the Rkill and it killed 3 processes; this temporarily solved the issue until a restart.
Scanned with Malwarebytes for rootkits, found 1 but it is quarantined and the issue still persisits
What do I do?

I'm new to the Win 7 community and i already have a problem. I just installed Win 7 x64 4 days ago because everyone was telling me how well it runs but i had a big surprise.
The instalation was fast , after that i installed the sound driver ( because i needed the control pannel to configure my surround system ) and the video drivers ( for the control center ). After that all the other programs i usually use.
The problem is that everything i do it runs very slow. If for example i install a game and try doing something at the same time...
And also games/programs take very long to launch. This didn't happen in vista.
I really could use some help to identify the problem...

BTW my specs are:

seagate 250gb sata2

Recently purchased a larger capacity computer. I wanted the contents of the new system to be exactly the same as my old one. Much to my disappointment the newer, faster, larger capacity computer performs slower than the old system. This is a comparison of both systems:

Intel Pentium MMX-------Intel Pentium III
200 MHz-------------------800 MHz
3.25 GB hard drive------20 GB hard drive
192 MB RAM--------------512 MB RAM

Both systems are mirror images of each other. Win98SE with IE6.0 and exactly the same programs installed. The biggest differences are with the CPU Load and uncached speed. The uncached speed is around 2 and a half times slower and the CPU Load about 25% slower.

I run all maintenance programs daily (disk cleanup, scan disk, disk defrag, etc). At startup there are only four basic programs running. The background programs are only what is required. No firewalls are installed or virus scans. Spybot, Ad-Aware and a virus scan are run at least twice weekly. The system is clean. I will gladly try any recommended suggestion. Thanks for reading.

I recently bought a second EVGA 2GB GTX 770 SC and have SLI set up, but the performance increase I got was a lot less than expected. I ran my own little benchmark with the first mission of the BF3 campaign on Ultra settings and my average frames per second only increased about 20 from about 90 to about 110. I decided to run the 3DMark Fire Strike Benchmark to check if I am really getting the performance I should and it turns out I'm not. I compared my results to Legit Review's results and my GPU score of barely over 11000 is over 3000 less than theirs on the normal test. On the extreme test, my result of just over 5200 is significantly less than the site's result of 6700. What is going on here? I'm very frustrated. I already tried reinstalling the latest 337.88 driver and chose to clean install but the benchmarks are still yielding the same results.

I have noticed that recently my computer has slowed down considerably. I first noticed it when it stutters to play the opening .wav sounds on startup, continued by a very slow load time when opening Firefox or even the start menu once windows is booted. On top of that, game performance has also taken a hit (longer load times, slower FPS). I have ran Adware, Spybot, and Spyware blaster. Adware didnt find anyting, Spyware blaster found a few things, but I removed them. Also ran an anti-virus scan and defrag with the Windows defragger, with no results. The Panda spyware/malware detector can not complete either because it freezes while scanning C:/ndtlr or something of the like. Here's my Hijack This log. Recently I've been having some problems with my laptop. I've had it for five months now. Basically performance is at quite a poor level, it's very noisy, very hot, and running around 70 processes generally. CPU usage is high and so doing basic things such as browsing the internet is really stressing the laptop out and I'm getting lag. I don't know if this is related to some malware or something else.

I'm on Windows Vista so I have run DSS to get a log. The extra log is attached.

Hi everyone, this is my first post and I'm desperate, here. I think I'm infected with Malware and I can't find it or get it out! I have screen shotes of the two "ads" that are showing up, if someone wants to see them. Clearly they are designed to get you to try and click on them. They are both showing up all across the web when I visit other pages, too.
Here is what I've done, scans I've run:
Advance System Care
Spybot Search and Destroy
Super Antispyware
AVG Virus Scan
And maybe one or two more (I can't remember)
None of these are picking up anything.

I've done a system restore to the earliest point I could, and that didn't remove it.

I have a couple of programs that I tried to uninstall, but are still showing up in my programs too. I suspect they are malicious. I think I got them when I was streaming videos from a site I thought was safe.

Also, when I log in through my son's desktop and use either Firefox or IE, they don't show up. When I log in through my desktop and use IE they don't show up, but when I use Firefox, they do. I also created another user desktop and they tried through there and they don't show up on that new desktop, either.
I have also noticed that there are two files showing up on C: that seem strange.
Computer>OS (C:)>Program Files -- (which I've always noticed) and
Computer>OS (C:)>Program Files (x86) -- (which struck me as odd)
Any ideas? I don't want to have to take it in, but am afraid ... Read more

Welcome aboard  If Firefox is the only program affected the fastest way to fix the issue would be to uninstall Firefox completely using this guide: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox and install fresh copy. Also, uninstall Advance System Care.Registry cleaners/optimizers are not recommended for several reasons: Registry cleaners are extremely powerful applications that can damage the registry by using aggressive cleaning routines and cause your computer to become unbootable.

The Windows registry is a central repository (database) for storing configuration data, user settings and machine-dependent settings, and options for the operating system. It contains information and settings for all hardware, software, users, and preferences. Whenever a user makes changes to settings, file associations, system policies, or installed software, the changes are reflected and stored in this repository. The registry is a crucial component because it is where Windows "remembers" all this information, how it works together, how Windows boots the system and what files it uses when it does. The registry is also a vulnerable subsystem, in that relatively small changes done incorrectly can render the system inoperable. For a more detailed explanation, read Understanding The Registry.
Not all registry cleaners are created equal. There are a number of them available but they do not all work entirely the same way. Each vendor uses different criteria as to what constitutes a "ba... Read more

I am having severe performance issues on a Vista SP2 machine, whereby it can take several minutes to start Internet Explorer and then 5 - 10 minutes to load a web page and sometime the page does not even load.

I have run a Virus Scan from McAfee Internet Security and a Malwarebytes Scan, both come up clean. Running the task manager both CPU and memory usage are relatively flat.

I have attached some basic info about the computer / OS. I am not sure what other info to include or where to start looking for the root cause of the issue and am happy to provide additional info if requested.

Kind regards

Run chkdsk, on the hard drive.
Open a command prompt, with elevated privileges, then type chkdsk /r

To get to the command prompt, go to Start > Search > type cmd.exe then right click on the cmd.exe, then choose "Run as Administrator" in the command prompt, type chkdsk /r

let it run, going to take some time to complete, then restart the computer.

If no improvement, go here: SeaTools for DOS | Seagate burn seatools to a CD, boot from the CD run the short, and long tests, look for errors.

If all checks out good, next will be to check your RAM, go here Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool and get the .iso file, you will need to use a image burning software like The Official ImgBurn Website or some other image burning software.

You will want to test each stick of RAM individualy, if any errors are found you will need to replace the RAM.

The device has been generally underwhelming since day 1. I was hesitant to submit a Premiere support ticket at first because I was in the middle of a very important project that I didn't want to be interrupted by servicing. But it became so unpredictable that I was using my 5 year old Ideapad instead (the one I had hoped to replace with the P1). So I submitted a ticket. Lenovo support replaced the motherboard and fan assembly promptly with great service, but the problems never really went away. The machine preformed for almost a day without a glitch, but all it once, every symptom came back.I am fairly certain that a machine with this hardware isn't supposed to be acting this way. I've tried submitting another support ticket, but I get an email saying there was a processing error, and I need to request a callback. The link to request a callback doen't take me anywhere that I can request a callback. So I tried calling in, but I do not have a lot of time to sit on hold (I eventually had to hangup). I often do not have time for this kind of thing until the end of a day or the weekend, and eveybody is closed. Last time I was able to do everything over email, and it was great. I'm not sure what to do... The machine works, and it's probably faster than a lot of other computers... Maybe I'm crazy, but my question is; Should my 5 year old Ideapad Y510p out-preform this device which has a i7 8850H CPU, and Quadro P2000 graphics card? Things... Read more

Hello all,Recently I purchased Everquest 2 for my laptop, according to my system specs I should be running the game well, if not above average. Well, after a few weeks of poor performance and ample driver troubleshooting I finally decided to do some research on the net and see if others were having the same problem. I came across websites saying that Dell computers come with pre-packaged very hard to remove spyware and sure enough I found some in my add/remove programs that I am unable to remove, etc.I want to get this comp running like it should without having to do a fresh XP install. I purchased it in June and silly me decided that Dell was trustworthy (not!), so I didn't mess with anything. Here is the Hijack This log. So, I've been having this is issue for a while now and there are many symptoms, but I don't know what it's all pointing at.
First things first, specs. I may not be able to provide the whole thing, but I'll try.
motherboard: ASUS P8P67 rev 3.1
CPU: Intel Core i7-2600 @ 3.4GHz
GPU: nvidia GTX Titan
hard drives: 2TB SSHD Seagate, OCZ-Vertex3 128GB.
RAM: Kingston, 8GB

I wonder if I missed anything crucial. now, for the problems. I run windows 7 ultimate 64x. on boot it starts using up to 3GB of RAM. I put it to sleep and when I wake it up (not shut down/reboot) it eats not more than 1.5GB (usually around 800mb-1200mb). I tried to find a memory leak but either I did it wrong, or just it wasn't the problem in the first place - I haven't found anything. but, I find it weird that sfc.exe takes the most of the ram in my performance thingy in task manager. afaik, that's main process of immunet antivirus.
also, I get bsod from time to time with 0x0000004F or something error code. I'm not sure if I remembered the code correctly. after that I've got to replug my ssd or the pc doesn't detect it. maybe it's a power problem. here also goes the fan that seems to be scratching something sometimes and a fan that seems to be underpowered and has dangerously low spinning speed, as reported by mother board.
other than that my video games don't run all too well with skyrim and a couple of mods lagging on ultra settings and gta 5 also not ... Read more

A:Surprisingly poor PC performance

0x0000004F error is from a device or hardware conflict. check the device manager for driver errors or conflicts.

Keyboard happening on only one key is a hardware issue, not software or it would happen with other keys.

FPS - you are probably over estimating your hardware if you want to run those on max settings and 60fps. (you would be surprised at what you need for max settings gaming).

My new laptop (few monthes old) has terrible problems with pop-ups in both IE and FireFox (many, but not all, are in new tabs in firefox, not just new windows), as well as general poorer performance than would be expected on a machine as fast as it is. These pop-ups often persist even when I am not connected to the internet, only the pop-ups often say "page could not be displayed." Many, but not all, of these pop-ups seem to be from the websites "screensavers.com" and other sites such as "smashhits.com" and "partypoker.com" and "RedOrbit." Ad-Aware, Spybot, Antivirus (all with latest updates), and many pop-up blockers do not seem to help much. Internet Explorer is also sometimes very messed up, often there is no address bar, no back or forward buttons, unexpected toolbars, etc. So I have came here to post a log from the program "hijack this" in hopes of a fix, as there seem to be many people here who are very knowledgable about this sort of thing. I have ran scans in programs such as ad aware and spybot with their latest updates before creating this log. I am trying to resolve an issue on my parents PC.

It had been getting slower and slower, coming to an almost dead stop last week. I regulalry got asked to check things out, which usually meant allowing the pc to do updates for Windows / Java / Microsoft Security Essentials.

Most recently, MSE kept cleaning and freezing the whole machine. I booted into safe mode, downloaded Malwarebytes and cleaned some trojans and ran MSe in safe mode, which was fine.

However, as soon as I booted normally, MSE would start cleaning and hang the whole machine.

I managed to stop MSE via msconfig, but windows update wouldn;t work and any links to Microsoft knowledge base artciles would just re-direct to the MS home page, I knew something was up.

I'm hoping you guys can help, I attach the DDS logs as requested. I await your advice.

Make sure the drives are jumpered correctly. One as master and the other as Slave OR try Cable Select on both drives OR set the WD to the "Master with Slave" jumper setting. Check the BIOS settings to make sure the drive is detected and DMA is enabled there.

Then there's these steps to follow: http://www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=6645

You should also install the latest Intel Chipset INF and Application Accelerator for best performance: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scr...SFullName=Windows*+XP+Professional&submit=Go!

Once you install the Application Accelerator you can check drive settings with it, it'll be under your Programs in the Styart Menu.

Hey everybody,
A family member brought me their laptop, complaining that is was running slow. It is an HP with Windows 8 that has not been used very much. It is definitely running slow; in both internet and non-internet functions.
I ran a scan with MBAM and found nothing.
This is my first experience with Windows 8. I checked the task manager, looking for clues, everything seemed normal to me. Usually I would suspect some sort of malware, but I don't see a trace.
Does anyone else know of an issue like this? Is it possible that there is no malware and something is just not set up correctly? Are there any other scans I should try?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi All

I have just upgraded my PC (forced upgrade thanks to a thunder storm!) and was hoping to see a major improvement in benchmark results, but haven't. My new system comprises of:

AsRock AM2NF3-VSTA nForce3 250 Skt AM2 mobo
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ AM2 CPU (2x1MB L2 Cache)
Arctic Cooling (AC-ALP-64) Alpine 64 CPU Cooler
Crucial 2GB kit DDR2 PC2-5300
GeForce 6600GT AGP graphics Card
Sound Blast Audigy
Windows XP professional x64 edition

This is a bit of a temporary budget system until I can afford to go PCI-E and SLI on a better mobo.

In 3dMark 2005 I am getting scores around the 900 mark, but other people using similar systems are getting around 15000! Don't know what the problem is, everything in BIOS looks correct. Anybody have any ideas??

Thanks in advance

Hi all,

Can anybody help me to improve this performance, please?
CPU % usage is around 25% so it seems it could run faster but I don't know how tell teh system to use a higher CPU % usage.

Since its a server, the processor's resource's are probably set to manage background tasks instead of programs. My server ( An old HP Notebook ) takes 22 minutes just to open Internet Explorer. But then again I have it running my website and most of the processes are background processes. The CPU is at about 80% all the time from managing my website..

If you want to change the allocation of CPU time ( NOT RECOMMENDED IF YOU'RE RUNNING A WEBSITE ) You can do it by going to Start > Right-Click "Computer" > Properties > Advanced System Settings > Performance > Advanced > Processor Scheduling > Either Background or Programs.

Be careful now..

hey there. i just recently built a new computer out of parts from my old comp and new ones i bought. its been doing just fine up untill recently, where it freezes if i open any game as recent as cod4 and medieval total war 2. usually the screen blinks black and then freezes right after it loads a map. its just getting worse.
for background, my ram and my cpu are somewhat in conflict, like i have a pentium d dual core and my ram is meant for the i7 processors. i only realized that when the stuff came in the mail but i was like meh, ill just try it out. but now, even on big battles in warcraft it drops down to like 15 fps and stuff. its just pitiful.
could it just be the conflict between my cpu and ram thats causing the freezing and sluggishness or could it be something else?
thank you guys

I just discovered that my Samsung SSD (830 series, MZ-7PC064D/EU) shows a very poor write performance (161 MB) though my read performance is pretty fair (448 MB).

I searched the web for a while now and tried every suggestion anyone wrote - nothing worked, my speed stays low (in comparison to values other users of this SSD get: ~500MB read ~300MB write - without RAID!)

Here are my system specifications:
Mainboard: M4A87TD EVO
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
RAM: 8GB 1333 MHz
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, up to date

My SSD is plugged into the first SATA connector. All my drivers, my BIOS and the SSD's firmware are the latest ones, TRIM and AHCI are activated, all the usual SSD tweaks have been made (no defragmentation, no search indexing etc.).
I tried:
using the Microsoft AHCI driver instead of the AMD SATA one
disabling the write cache
installing the latest chipset drivers provided on AMD's website
installing the latest chipset drivers provided on ASUS' website
forcing SATA 6gb/s support in the BIOS
I really don't know what I should try next - any suggestions?

A:poor SSD write performance

The write number of 161 is considerably faster than many SSDs.

Are you disappointed only because of the benchmark?

The most important factor is access time and that looks fine.

Hello UK014907

I`m sorry, but we cannot help you with malware removal in this forum.
However I think that shzhost.exe is a worm or trojan.

My computer keeps freezing and the performance seems to be much worse than when I first bought the computer. I did scans with norton and it finds a few viruses however there is problems with the software and it wont remove them. I dont want to have to reformat, so I was wondering if there are any programs that can clean up the computer.

A:Poor performance and freezing

What viruses does it report that you have?
You may need to go onto the Norton website and see if there is any special software to remove the virus or a manual method of removing them.

I had upgraded my computer back in may of 2007, anyways when i upgraded i upgraded for gaming performance. the games i play are pretty much the battlefield series and need for speed undercover, newer stuff i guess. I recently bought Rainbow 6 vegas 2 and i had to turn down alot to make it playable.. also i downloaded the ArmA 2 demo and i laughed when i started it up to play cause i pretty much had everthing on low as put the resolution on 800x600 for it to move like if i were getting 50 FPS.. sucks, and not playable.. so with that game it lookes like a blurry mess . My problem im not exactly sure of , im more leaning to a not so good video card but i could be totally wrong, since i haven't been able to keep up to date on the new technology. If i need to upgrade video card i am looking into one of the 4800 ATI cards but affordable cause i am on a budget. I dont think it could but maybe possible.. i have 2 out take that are 80mm and on intake that is also 80mm. I am just lost on what to try anymore so i thought i would ask for some help..

My system consists of ( i didnt have to build from ground up)

CPU, Intel Pentium D 925 Presler 3.0GHz LGA 775 95W Dual-Core Processor

Motherboard-ASUS P5VD2-MX SE LGA 775 VIA P4M890 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Hi, this is my first post here! I have a problem with OpenGL, read on.

So, I saw that Windows 7 RTM had appeared on MSDN (AA), decided to install the x86-version just for the kicks, as I haven't seen W7 in action before.

It worked, surprisingly well considering this PC is originally from 2004: AMD Athlon XP 2600+, nForce2 board, 1.75 GB and Geforce 7600 GS (AGP). I don't think there is Vista drivers for nForce2, so it was nice to see that network, sound and all worked right after installing. Even Direct3D worked fine, but there was no hardware OpenGL support.

No problem, I thought, and installed the latest W7 drivers from nVidia (190.38 IIRC). D3D ran equally nicely, and I tested one old OpenGL game of mine, no problem.

Then I installed Eclipse, set up my workspace and tried my ongoing LWJGL (OpenGL binding for Java) game project. It was running slowly, barely going 40-50 fps, sometimes more, sometimes less. It shouldn't do that and this hardware, hell it runs solid 60 fps (it's capped there) even on Linux, not to mention Win XP. On Linux it starts to stutter when I do 4x AA, on W7 it stutters the same when I disable AA (I normally have 2x).

So I thought it must be the shiny Aero desktop effects, turned them off: same results. I tried older driver version, no difference.

Now I expect it to run slower than in Win XP, but that much slower? Shouldn't be, the game is not that complicated (there is shaders going on but they make no difference, it's slow even a... Read more

I'm getting poor performance on my Yoga 730-15. I suspect Power Throttling. Is there anything that can be done? I heard that power limits are set by Lenovo on the BIOS and there is nothing we can do as user. Could Lenovo add the option in the BIOS to increase the power limits?
