TS server crashing, not sure how to fix issue

Q: TS server crashing, not sure how to fix issue

Hey Guys,

We have a terminal server which we currently use and it seems to be bluescreening quite frequent. I know it's a issue related to the Plug and Play driver (PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR) but I haven't found any clear indication online on how to fix it.

I've attached the BSOD data. If anybody could have a look and advise would be greatly appreciated. Just stumped on how to fix the issue.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

When I click on the how to correct this it takes me to a Windows 2003 page not 2012 for the first issue

And page does not exist for the second issue ?
Any ideas ?

Yesterday i installed a new motherboard, cpu and ram. All of which are compatible with each other. I run a 1050 ti and a intel i5 9400F, 16gb ram on a 500w cooler master power supply. GPU and and PSU are about 1 year old. I only got these problems after installing the new motherboard, cpu and ram. I had no problems booting the pc and it seemed like everything worked fine. I installed some of the drivers (some may be missing im not 100% sure if i did all of them correctly), but most should be correct.

I first noticed the crashings as i launched cs go, discord and firefox at the same time. (within 2-3 minutes of each other). Opening some apps made the others crash and sometimes loop. Discord would shut down and start back up, cs:go would just shut down along with steam. And firefox tabs would also crash saying something like "oops we've ran into a problem, try refreshing".

I feel like if this was a hardware problem my pc wouldnt boot or any indicator lamps on my motherboard would light up but only SB_PWR lamp is lighting up. I quickly googled it and its supposed to just show that power is on and connecting to the motherboard.

If any more infiormation is needed please ask ill try to answer as well as i can. Hope anyone is able to help <3

Edit: All fans inside the pc are running, everything seems like it is working, but some apps just shut down randomly. Sorta suffocates

I am having an issue with offline files created offline syncing back to the server. I have set up a network share to be available offline on a client computer. All files are available offline without issue. Here is the issue however. If I set the folder to work offline any file I create in the folder when it is offline just disappears when the folder comes back online, there are no conflicts or sync failures reported in sync center. If I create a new folder offline the folder does sync back to the server. Any changes made to an existing file are also replicated back to the server once the share is back online. So the issue is only with newly created files when the share is offline. I have not been able to replicate this error on any other file server in our environment, However I have recreated the issue with multiple shares with multiple Win 7 clients on this file server.

Steps taken so far.

Checked and reset permission levels on the share.
Recreated new shares from scratch for testing.
Disabled and enabled offline files on the client computer and cleared the offline cache.
Check various registry entry settings.
Disabled cashing on the File server.
Tested with XP the issue does not exist with XP.

I have spent hours researching this error online to no avail.

The clients are running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit
The File server is Server 2003 Standard 32 bit with SP2

Any help or ideas would be most welcome.

I've seen the complaints about this problem but with no clear resolution. There are some hot fixes listed that may help, updating to Windows 7 SP1 is supposed to help in some cases but nothing seems for certain.

No way for me to recreate this problem but apparently others have the same problem.

We run a web proxy server on our network for internet access.
On client machines (running Windows 2012 R2) I have configured the proxy server setting in Internet Explorer "Tools\Internet Settings\Connections\LAN Settings" to point at the designated web proxy server.
When attempting to browse websites from IE I receive the "The proxy server isn't responding" error.
Conversely, browsing the same sites via Google Chrome and Firefox (installed on the same client server) return web pages without error.
In addition, if I run Internet Explorer as administrator (Right Click\Run as Administrator), I am able to browse web sites without receiving the error.
It would appear that the issue is isolated to browsing via IE when not run in elevated mode.
Has anyone come across this issue?

A:Server 2012 R2 - Internet Explorer Proxy Server Issue

Hi Dicki,
First, please try to reset the Internet Explorer. Some plug-ins may affect the proxy.
If it doesn't work, please try to perform a network capture on the client.
Please check if the client send the http traffic to the proxy server at the correct port.
If the client has sent the http traffic to the proxy server, please check if there is any warning or error in the proxy server.

I posted the same on their tech support forum but I'm beginning to think the issue, while it may have been exacerbated by the game Guildwars 2, is likely on my end, but I have a number of suggestions, none of which has worked. Also tried my own stuff.
Anyway, here is what I posted on their own tech forum:
Having a lot of issues getting into gw2…I have bits and pieces of problems others have had in the past, but nothing seems to work, so I’m re-downloading the game, basically. All I want to do is play the freaking game, why does it have to be so much trouble?
Once in awhile I will get that blue and yellow graphical glitch on something. Just more info for diagnosis. If and when this happens, it’s always immediately apparent at character select. However…The biggest problem I have with GW2 is also on login – it either crashes or bluescreens my computer right after clicking play and the client tries to load for 5-10 seconds. For the past few days, 90% of the time it just crashes. If I try to patch after that point, the patcher stops at Downloading 0KB and will not budge from it. Not even to log in. I have to reboot my computer to get it past “Downloading 0KB”.
One post I found said that they started having all these problems after downloading a number of games on Steam (which I have done off and on due to a friend getting me a few gifts) , until their HD shrank down to 30 gigs. Same here, an... Read more

Unfortunately, though I thought I did, I have no images of the odd cyan/yellow graphics glitch, and I have no way of getting one (google didn't turn up any that looked the same as mine, granted some were similar).
Edit - I also noticed after re-enabling page memory on my primary drive after freeing up some space, that in the error logs, the amount of paged memory in use is for some reason higher. I can't imagine why this is, but maybe I don't understand the process.

This office has a small network (Server and 5 clients) with Win2k on the server. Every week or two the network will suddenly slow to a crawl and eventually stop functioning. It is possible to log on to the server computer directly but all other computers can't log in. Restarting the server always solves the problem for another week or two. I don't know where to begin troubleshooting. Does anyone have any ideas? I know in another office I worked in, the server (Win NT) was never closed or restarted and never had problems. Is it normal to have to restart Win2k once a week?

A:Win 2K Server crashing

Definately not. I have only rebooted my home PC twice in the last 77 days (the first time because I installed a program that refused to work without a reboot, and the second time because I had to move the PC), and it is running Win2K.

What you need to do is find out where the memory leak is, as I feel that this is where your problem lies.

You need to run Performance Monitor, and set some alerts so that when the processor is being used too much, or there is no spare memory left, or when there has been excessive paging you can go to the server and start seeing which programs are monoplising the processor/memory/hard disk. BTW, the System Idle Process is designed to use up the rest of the available processor time, so do not start think that that program is to blame

Hello, I am having problems at my workplace, and have exhausted my meager knowledge of networks and/or servers, so I turned here. The problem I am having is that our server on our network (very small - 1 server, 6 clients) is crashing every 5 minutes or so, and I cannot figure out why. We are running XP pro. When the server is down, we can access the internet, but not the documents or software on the server.

What do you guys need from me? Will a HJT log be of assistance so you can check what we have on here? Also, we have had issues with an NIC card and it's respective driver. Would that cause this problem?

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to your replies.

what makes it odd is that the pc itself is still running....the monitor just goes blank, but the pc still has the fans going, and is whirring happily along. if you try to reset it, nada, holding in the power button, nada. the only way to get it to reset is to remove all power.

Hi there,

I have a win 2000 server that is running some custom voice broadcast software and using dialogic boards. Any other software is your standard office stuff.

The box started crashing and not coming back up so we changed the hard drive and motherboard. It ran for a little while fine, then it started to reboot about once a day so We ran a fix on windows and then I took out the voiceboards and replaced them with others just in case one of them was a bit off. I have also done a virus scan and defrag and the thing is still crashing about once a day. Our guy says there is nothing in the logs that would make this happen. Nothing has changed software wise infact the software has been the same for about 7 years we have just mirrored the drives from one machine to the next as the machines have gotten to old.

Any Ideas what could be happening here? Driving me nuts.

Thanks a ton

I posted this under another topic but no answer so am trying here as it is a big worry for me.
I administer a LAN with Win2000 RAID 5 as the main server. I am not IT trained and have learned some by reading books, papers, etc. but still have along way to go.
Things run fine except that every 1-2 weeks the server will either crash with no BSOD just blackness and no response to keyboard or mouse, or it will BSOD and save a mini dump, or it will reboot itself and sometimes save a mini dump. I have no clue how to read these dumps.
There is never anything indicating any kind of problem in the Event log prior, but after I get a message saying the previous shutdown was unexpected. When the server crashes the other DC on that domain will not serve the clients although they share the AD. I have 2 other domains, both WINNT, and one disallows access when the main server crashes and the other domain I have no feedback on.
Can someone tell me how I can figure out why my server crashes and/or how to handle it? Is this something to worry about? Should I be doing certain maintenance things for optimum performance?

Hi guys, need a little help here. Just got promoted to system admin at work (woohoo!), but there has been a nasty bug with the system that the last guy couldn't figure and I need to get rid of.

We are running Win NT 4.0 Server. The box has 196 megs of ram, 2 hard drives, P II 400 Mhz proc. Most of the time it works fine, as we use it mainly for the internet connection for our LAN. We also use it as a shared data server so we can store all our files in one spot. Well, whenever you try to write massive amounts of data to the drive (over 15-20 megs) numerous errors will come up and the system will have to be powered OFF to fix it.

Here are some of the errors, thanks for any ideas on what the problem might be. BTW, I swapped the hard drives to a new motherboard/case/sys and I still get the same prob so It has to be the OS or the hard disks. Maybe a buffer setting?

I have a SQL Server 2000 SP3a that keeps crashing - or rather, rebooting my Win2K Server. The eventlog states that each of the restarts was 'unexpected'.

It happens at irregular intervals and the CPU load can be anywhere between 20 and 100%.

The server is an IBM xseries with dual processor.

The databases that are running has been created by ourselves but they shouldn't be able to reboot a server.

Does anyone have a clue to what we should be looking at to fix this?

She doesn't have any problem with any other program that uses the internet, and mmos that need to update, update fine. We've scanned for viruses with mcafee, onecare and spydocter and found nothing, and her system meets the requirments for the game, and they worked just fine a couple months back. My system is crashing randomly straight to the bios screen.

There is no BSOD or error message.

I can game for hours playing FFXiV or Borderlands with no issues then log out to watch a youtube video and end up staring at my bios screen in a split second.

It also happens when I am gaming. It can happen within 10 minutes of boot up or after 4 hours of gaming. Very random.

This is a new system (had it for about a month now) that I built.

There is nothing in my system health report.

I'm wondering if my power supply is faulty.

Windows 7 64 bit
Intel DP55WB Motherboard
Intel Core i7 875k proc
Intel BXXTS100H DHX-B LGA 1156 CPU Cooler - Copper Base, Aluminum Fins
OCZ OCZ3G1333LV4G Gold 4GB PC10666 DDR3 1333MHz
XFX Radeon 5850 1Gig Vid card
Ultra LSP650 650-Watt Power Supply

Thought I would run it by the experts before I go out and get a new PS.

Thanks in advance.

A:Crashing issue

When you say straight to bios, do you mean a blue screen, or the computer reboots and you see the bios? If the power is just cutting out, it could be a bad psu. And since it can happen minutes or hours, I doubt it's overheating. If it's a blue screen, report back. Otherwise, I'd get the psu.

Since I built my current computer a year ago, It would randomly crash. At first, it only crashed every couple hours, but over time it got progressively more frequent, and sometimes I would turn on the computer and it wouldn't boot. It eventually got to the point where it wouldn't boot up at all. After some troubleshooting, I assumed the problem was my motherboard (ASUS P6T), so I RMA'd it and got another one last week. After putting it in and reformatting my hard drive, it hasn't had a botting problem, but it still crashes every ten minutes or so. I've tried several different things ranging from Memtest and hard drive replacement, but nothing has helped. Any ideas? Here are some of specs as far as I can remember:

ASUS P6T motherboard with a Intel Core i7 Processor
HIS 1 Gb video card (can't remember model)
Ultra 750 Watt power supply
Western Digital 500 Gb Hard Drive
Patriot 12 GB RAM (Now 8 Gb since I took 2 sticks out)

Hello there

I really need help with my laptop. I've searched online for an answer to no avail and it's driving me insane.

I've got a Dell Inspiron 1525, which I bought last November. For the past couple of months it has been regularly crashing for no apparent reason. Basically it can be running happily and then suddenly the program I am using stops working. For a few seconds I can switch between programs, but then everything stops and the cursor won't move any more.

Ctrl alt del doesn't do anything and the only way to sort it out is to hold the off button to reset. Otherwise it just stays on for good.

When I restart it sometimes goes through a lengthy disk checking process prior to Vista firing up. Sometimes it doesn't do this, but just takes ages to load up.

It can do this every hour or so, or sometimes it won't happen for a couple of days. It is obviously a massive inconvenience though.

Do you have any ideas?

I've been getting BSOD's for about a month now everytime I stream a movie, but today when I ran chkdsk /r /f at startup I got another blue screen that stated DRIVER OVERSCAN STACK BUFFER

I always get different BSODS Such as  IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL, KERNEL POWER when streaming movies.

Below I provided the entire mini dump file for the CHKDSK error as well as the mini dump file for the streaming movie issues I got yesterday.
Note: These are just 2 of the DMP files of the BSOD of 11 that I've gotten throughout the month.

I'm assuming it's a corrupt driver issue, but I am stumped at the moment.   Any help from Window's Experts will definitely make my day, thank you!

And yes, I am using the latest driver from NVIDIA on my graphics card (93.71), defrag every week, have run virus scans with AVG Free 7.5 and found nothing, do regular spyware checks with AVG Spyware and remove them. I have had a search around about this problem but didn't find any definitive answers.

All right, I've got an interesting one for you. I think this fits in here as it appears to be a general hardware issue, rather than about any specific game. Basically I've been suffering random crashes when playing games for a few months now. The crashes never happen outside of games. It all started with a demo of Call of Juarez. At random points during play, my computer screen would switch into standby mode and fans inside my computer would speed up (or at least sound like they were). I assumed this was some random software fault and reinstalled the game... surely enough it crashed less often, if at all after that, so I thought I was fine.

After that, I bought Gothic 3, and the crashing started there too. So, I reinstalled it, everythi... Read more

I've had some strange crashes recently and wonder if I have a hardware conflict or a virus. Mostly Firefox has been suddenly closing (not often, but sometimes) and also Skype randomly closes due to an error.

Tonight my computer crashed randomly and the error signature after restarting was:

Error Signature:

Ok, as I'm typing thSkype just "encountered a problem" and closed, which has happened every day for the past three or four days.

Any suggestions on where to begin?

I updated all my video drivers, Direct X 9.0 and the Packard Bell BIOS updates and also changed my Nvidia settings down a little while also turning my ingame graphics down no success. I decided to reinstall windows and then set the hardrive to SATA instead of the previous Raid Configuration which I then thought it would be fixed.

I then went playing on CounterStrike source and I then noticed my fps was absolutely terrible so I sorted that problem out but then after about 25 minutes my computer just crashed (No longer froze and resumed) just crashed completely my keyboard went along for the ride aswell but this has now happened about 3 times and I dont know how to fix this issue so im hoping somebody could help me?.

I have an odd problem, I think I have it narrowed down, but wondering if someone else has this problem.

I have Firefox 2.0b2 installed on my computers at home. On all but one it works fine. On one computer, it occasionally crashes. It did the same thing with version 1.5.0.x as well. The only difference is that 2.0 has the built-in "crash recovery", so I can just click "restore session" and all my tabs come back up.

Firefox only crashes on a Yahoo website (like www.yahoo.com, mail.yahoo.com, etc...), and it doesn't happen all the time. I can browse to those sites, but like I said occasionally it will crash, and the MS error reporting comes up, so I send it to MS, and the Firefox QA tool automatically sends the crash info to Mozilla.

I've checked the log for the Mozilla Feedback, and found the "offending" URL to point to a *.css file from Yahoo. I've added the css file to my adblock list, and that stops the crashing, but the Yahoo website doesn't look the same (ie - the Yahoo logo is off to the far left, and all the little links that are normally spread out across the top of the page are now either bunched up in the middle or on the left or right side.) So I removed the css file from my ad-block and sure enough, the crashing started up again.

Any ideas????

My PC's started crashing (unheard of, I know) so that when I reboot it gets as far as a screen saying something like 'verifying DMI pool data', then starts saying something like 'boot from CD/DVD', at which point it goes crazy, as starts indefinitely running what looks like a single line of text pasted repeatedly up my screen too fast for me to have managed to read yet. Both times so far once I've left the PC alone for a while it's been ok when I've next turned it on, but it's got me worried.

If it's relevant to anything, the first time it happened was when Comodo was running a scheduled system scan (and I was doing a couple of other things at the same time, so I assumed it'd just crashed because I'd overworked it), but the second was in the middle of doing very little (running Bridge Base Online, which doesn't seem like it demands much of your system).

Any suggestions? A friend of mine set up this PC, and was going to install some sort of dual boot Linux thing, but didn't get around to it. Can't get hold of him now

if you do not maybe you can barrow one from a friend/family member/co-worker as long as it is the same version that is on your system

if you have (Windows XP Home Ed. sp2 ) then the cd will have to be that / if you have a cd with (Windows XP Home Ed. )you will have to slipstream (SP2 ) onto a disk that you create

this also applies to (Windows XP Professsional )
this also applies to (sp3 )

Hi, thank you for having me here.

Recently, I installed a new ASUS motherboard, processor, and 2 gigs of DDR 2 memory. I did a clean install of Windows XP Home Edition, with SP2. I downloaded and installed all the drivers for the motherboard, video, sound etc from the necessary sites. They all seem to be running well. After about a couple of days, all my browsers started crashing one by one. First Firefox, then IE. I thought it could be a problem with either and decided to try Opera and Chrome, but same problem. I deleted them all and downloaded safarri, which seemed to run well but then a day later, same problem. All this seemed to have started after installed Flash 10. I've been reading numerous threads about this, and did all the trouble shooting each have said to do, but nothing has worked.
I am running Kaspersky on my computer. I've ran virus scans you name it.
If anyone has any insight into what could be causing this, I would truly appreciate information and help.
I need my computer for school and with the browsers constantly crashing, I don't know what to do or what could possibly be causing this.
If you need any other information, I will be willing to provide.

First off, I'm sorry if this isn't the best place for this thread, but it seemed the most logical place to ask for help since I don't currently have a BSOD log. Here's my situation:

Recently rebuilt my PC, piece by piece over a couple months until I had all new parts. Initially went with an ASRock Z75 Pro3 motherboard, Intel i5-3550, 16GB of Crucual Ballistix Tactical DDR3(2x8GB), and a Seagate Hybrid 2TB+8GB SSHD (plus 4 other standard HDDs). Almost immediately I had crashing issues. Sometimes it would be a BSOD, sometimes just hard freeze that would require holding the power button until kill. When BSOD came up, it almost always showed 0x124 code. At first I thought it was related to OC/voltages, so I set everything to stock, then spent almost two months fiddling with voltages in BIOS. Nothing seemed to have any real effect. I double checked all my drivers/firmware, too. Crashes were randomish - they happened eventually no matter what I was doing, sometimes at the Windows loading screen (before the four dots formed the windows logo, almost always while they were in a line), sometimes 5 hours in, and I can't seem to find any reliable trigger for them except that certain games would cause a crash within 5-15 minutes every time. Prime95, HeavyLoad, etc. do not cause crashes even running for several hours. Removed all peripheral devices and cards, ran video from integrated graphics, no change. Also monitored voltages and temperatures both under load and idle, nothing out of t... Read more

A:Doozy of a crashing issue, 0x124 and other?

Well i believe what you have is possibly a bad cpu. The reason I say that is I got a bsod myself a few months back; that brought up the same 0x124 code. When i posted it on here; most of the experts on bsod's said it seemed to point to a faulty cpu. So, with that said; i contacted intel(fortunately it was still in the warranty period). Explained to them, the situation; they sent me a replacement; installed the replacement; and ever since then have not had a lick of trouble or problem with my system. I would venture to bet that it is your cpu. If it is still under the warranty period; i would contact Intel and explain to them the situation and hopefully they will replace it for you.

I am having an odd issue with the 7970PE53G model of the ATI Diamond 7970. It runs great don't get me wrong. But for some reason, this card will not show a temperature in the ATI Control Center or any other third party application. Now this wouldn't bother me, but I believe this is causing my card's fan to run at 100% the whole time which is more then it needs, and way to loud. So I end up manually turning it down. I then continue to use the card and about an hour of use will cause my computer to completely shut off, then after I turn it on, everything is back to normal! Temperature on the GPU will begin showing, and the fan can automatically adjust its own speed.

After an hour of two of working fine, it stops sensing the temperature, and jumps back to 100% fan speed, and then the process starts over again. Kind of irritating, I just bought this card recently, so I need to know if it is defective or not.

I have the latest drivers from ATI 12.8
I also do not have anything overclocked.

Z68 Gigabyte Motherboard
16gb 1600mhz DDR3 Ram
128 SSD Corsair

Hi there.

Bought a new PC last year, some specs: -
AMD Athlon 3000+ XP CPU
GA-7VM400AM(F) Motherboard
2 x 256MB Kingston DDR400 RAM

Basically, since installing everything, I noticed random crashings, blue screens, reboots etc. which made me think straight away that there was a problem with the memory.

I used goldmem to test the memory, these were my findings: -
- with both sticks of memory in, over 2000 errors came up.
- with stick number 1 in on its own, no errors
- with stick number 2 in on its own, no errors

this made me think that it was possible that a certain SLOT on the motherboard was faulty, so i tried the memory in both slots individually and no errors came up at all.

I've since been running the system with just one stick of memory, and no errors have occurred and everything is running smoothly.

Conclusion: only when BOTH STICKS of memory are running together, the computer crashes, reboots and freezes. Both sticks of memory test OK individually, but together they fail.

This memory was bought in a set, asin a "1of2" "2of2" type fashion. Can ANYONE shed some light on this? It's driving me insane!

Copied and pasted from a different tech support chat. I was very split between posting this under hardware or Windows 10, but I can't pinpoint the issue and I have a hunch it's hardware so posted here.

In short, computer is crashing/freezing and the cause is unknown. It started about a week ago, and would only happen when playing relatively demanding games. One monitor would turn into a random color (usually blue or red) and the other would turn into another color with vertical stripes running down of a lighter shade of that color. No inputs work as far as I can tell, and I hard to reset or shut the computer off. Since then, it has been getting more frequent. I'm not sure if it happens at random at this point, but it recently crashed while I was browsing both Edge and Chrome at the same time. I've run monitoring software while triggering these crashes/freezes - nothing out of the ordinary. No temperature spikes (everything is sub-65C).

Me and mi amigos originally thought it was the GPU because of the visual aspect. HOWEVER... When the computer crashes/freezes, I have to manually shut it down by holding the power button, or I can reset it. One of two things happens.

A) The computer restarts as normal.

B) The computer turns on and the lights in the tower all turn on, but the monitors do not trigger (aka no signal, doesn't wake up, blah blah blah). On top of that, my keyboard/mouse will usually light up on a normal startup. They do not when this happ... Read more
