Q: RegRun Partizan - Robot Killer...Greatis software2007

Hello,

I am new to this post so please bare with me. I hope this is the right place to post this.

The other day my CA Antivirus came up with a virus. I looked it up, removed it and thought it was gone. When I restarted my computer, this blue screen came up during the login saying "RegRun Partizan - Robot Killer...Greatis software2007."

After reading this thread

http://forums.techguy.org/malware-removal-hijackthis-logs/585323-trojans-viruses-more-help.html

I downloaded HJTsetup and ran it, here are my results.

After reading the thread provided, I do not see that any results were made to eliminate the blue screen from popping up. Is my computer at risk or did my AntiVirus remove the threat?

Thank you,

Preferred Solution: RegRun Partizan - Robot Killer...Greatis software2007

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I remember a few years ago when my computer caught a nasty virus I somehow stumbled upon this program to remove the rootkit. It worked like a charm actually but whenever I go back the website and look at it, I always feel like that it is very suspect looking and am unsure of it. I keep a downloaded copy on my external just in case, but I rarely ever bring it out to clean computers. I spoke with a family friend of mine who runs his own PC Warehouse and regularly deals with Malware, Virus, and Rootkit removal (actually he taught me most of the methods I have been using to clean computers myself) and he never heard of the program. And when I showed it to him, he was more or less unimpressed actually.

Has anyone else used it or had experience with it? General thoughts about Greatis products (which I have never heard of besides UnHackme).

A:UnHackMe by Greatis Software

Greatis is a reputable site and UnHackMe can be effective if you know how to use it.If you're unsure how to use a particular Anti-rootkit (ARK) tool or interpret the log it generates, then you should not be using it. Some ARK tools are intended for advanced users or to be used under the guidance of an expert who can interpret the log results. Arks are powerful tools and using them incorrectly could lead to disastrous problems with your operating system. Most of the more effective ARK tools should only be used under the guidance of an expert who knows how to investigate its log for malicious entries before taking any removal action. Why? Not all hidden components detected by anti-rootkit (ARK) scanners and security tools are malicious. It is normal for a Firewall, anti-virus and anti-malware software, CD Emulators, virtual machines, sandboxes and Host based Intrusion Prevention Systems (HIPS) to exhibit rootkit-like behavior or hook into the OS kernal/SSDT (System Service Descriptor Table) in order to protect your system. SSDT is a table that stores addresses of functions that are used by Windows. Whenever a function is called, Windows looks in this table to find the address for it. Both legitimate programs and rootkits can hook into and alter this table.API Kernel hooks are not always bad since some system monitoring software and security tools use them as well. If no hooks are active on a system it means that all system services are handled by ntoskrnl.exe which is a base com... Read more

I want know about the users opinions using RegRun Security
Is it good?

A:RegRun

I had not heard of it before reading your post so I googled it and went to Cnet download site to read some reviews for it. That site always seems to have reviews on software but even though they have had RegRun Security available for download from their site for over a year, there are no reviews for it

Using the RegRun Reanimator / Unhackme programs, I get information saying that I have a rootkit infection (Mchinjdrv.sys) and alerts that the following files are infected:

vga.sys
secdrv.sys (Macrovision)
ndis.sys
I started looking around because Windows Update would no longer work (it hangs at 0% in the task menu.)

Any advice/help would be APPRECIATED!!!

I have purchased and really like Bit Defender Total Security 2009, and while it seems to provide really good protection, It could not handle disinfecting my PC from all the crap I picked up from torrents etc that I got prior to purchasing it. I am also using Regrun free and it expires today. Regrun seems really awesome and help me clean all the bad stuff out. I don't really want to dish out the cost of what they want after the trial version is expired. It there anything that compares to what this program can do? Seems like these two programs are the complete defense and cure for malware. Are there any problems between running the programs together? Thoughts....

A:Bit Defender Total Security and/or Regrun

Hi, I feell Reg cleaners can do more harm than good.. I would recommend you download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

I saw a commercial on TV that just said whoismrrobot.com. When I go on the website it shows a CMD style text asking me if it wants me to know a secret. I select yes and a short video appears. Then some gut named Mr Robot kept writing CMD style messages and then asks for my E-Mail address but I did not want to risk going any further because I fear that this is some sort of hacking method. Anyone have any idea what kind of messed up website this is? Please respond with a reasonable answer.

Robot City is an old '95 game. Nevermind why I'm wasting my time with it..

I can load the game just fine and everything works except for a small glitch in the display. When I move the mouse it leaves a large square trail behind it and distorts the screen turning it black.

The help file mentions this and I am running the game in 640x480 and 256 color just as it says I should.

Any ideas?

Here is the section of the help file that mentions it:

****************************************************************
7. Video Display Problems
****************************************************************
Robot City requires 256-color mode
Robot City is an 8-bit, 256-color application. In order to view
Robot City, you need a video card which supports at least 256
colors in 640x480 resolution. Robot City requires you run in 256
color mode. Other modes will cause colors to appear incorrectly
and may cause streaking or trails on the screen. If you are not
in 256-color mode, a warning dialog will appear when you launch
Robot City telling you to correct the problem, exit and restart
Windows.

I'm looking for an application which works as follows:

I give it the address of a webpage, and it opens up each link on the webpage, and then opens up each link in each opened up page, etc... and so on.... until a pre-specified number of levels deep.

So, in some sense I'm looking for a web-browsing robot.

This way, I can sit back and view all the web-pages without having to injure myself by repeatedly clicking on the links.

Can anyone point me to anything like this? (freeware please).

Thanks!

Looking back on earlier logs the failure rate seems to be about 50% to 60%.

Everything else auditory works fine, video, music, etc. But anytime I try to skype it sounds like a robot is talking, lags and is very annoying. I know others are having this problem too but I can't find a solution. I know internet connection is usually the problem but I have tried it right next to the router and it still doesn't work. I then use the app on my phone and it works fine but its really frustrating to have to do that when I just bought this computer not even a month ago. Please help!

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forums but i figured you guys could answer my question. I just purchased Robot Arena 2 online for 20 bucks, and at first Vista wouldn't execute it. But then I downloaded a patch from the RA website. Now the game loads to the first few intro screens that say ... Infogrames...etc. all the title screens. But when it suppose to be on the menu screen its just black with the cursor showing...I've tried to run it in compatiblity mode but it did not work...

Is this game not compatible with Vista or what? I have Vista Ultimate x64, ATI 3200 HD
*I ordered windows 7 and it should be in before Christmas, would it possibly work on it?

Thanks for any help!

Hello, I have a Sony Vaio laptop and recently whenever I use YouTube, Spotify, Netflix, stream or play audio/visual content anywhere the sound freezes and makes a robot noise constantly.

I am a dummy with computers and technical stuff but from what I have read on the web regarding this matter it could have been something to do with drivers, too much stuff on the hard drive, flash and/or java needing updating etc..

I have done all of these things (I think) and it still hasn't done anything! Could someone plleeassee advise me what I need to do to sort this out.

Also, my fan is very hot and sounds like a vacuum cleaner (I have tried cleaning it, I think I need a new fan) but could this be affecting anything?

Thanks all

edit: I use latest internet explorer, and sometimes chrome but it is the same on both of the browsers, and besides it happens with spotify which is downloaded?

A:Audio sounds like a robot on everything, please help!!

It does sound like something having to do with your sound card drivers. I would go into the device manager which is in the system tab of the control panel and completely uninstall the sound card and any other related components; reboot; then let windows hopefully re-detect and reinstall the sound card and its associated drivers. If you need more info on anything just ask.

Let's make this short and to-the-point:
- Purchased XPS15 9550 in April 2016
- Upgraded SSD to Samsung 950 Pro 512GB.  RAM is 32GB Crucial DDR4-2666
- Purchased the WD15 and TB15 docks
- I work at a high-tech company, one that designs and works on PCs, laptops, and desktops.  I have a degree in EE.  So I am very very technical.
- OS is Win10 Enterprise x64 with my company's standard IT bundle.
Problems:
1. TB15 does not work.  USB devices will drop after 5 minutes and DP / HDMI will drop a few minutes later.  Tried all the drivers and BIOS updates.  TBT utility will fail to detect the dock even if connected. Updated TBT FW to NVM16.  It is only good for charging the battery.
2.  WD15 partially works.  USB and DP work >80% of the time, but highly disruptive during the work day.  Decided to use it just for charging as well.
3.  Called Dell TS multiple times on the TBT problems above, and had MB replaced twice.  Problems remain.  I've just given up because their TS people have no clue about they product they are supporting, or just were not given any alternate path / options after replacing the MB twice.  I can attribute problems above to Dell's faulty TBT implementation.
4.  Most annoying is the random, robot-voice, mouse/kb slowdown occurring a multiple times an hour.  I hear it when on Lync calls, watching videos, playing music, etc.  I tri... Read more

A robots.txt file is a short text file that resides in your home directory. Before search engines spider your site, they look into this file to see which files/file types and/or directories they are not allowed to see.

More details at http://buzzycode.com/
The following disallows all search engines and robots from crawling select directories and pages:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /cgi-bin/
Disallow: /privatedir/

Hi there

The problem is definitely a software one, because you said you tried another sound card and the problem persists.
The problem is most likely coming from your codecs/filters.

If you have codecs installed, uninstall them and try playing again.
Still not working, uninstall all media players. Re install VLC and try again.

Last ting I can think of is that you download and install XP codec pack.
Just Google it, you will find it.

Hope this helps

Hi.

I have built a web cam robot that you can control from any pc in the world.

I have equipped it with paintball and laser dome weapons and a red dot aim.

http://media.putfile.com/Tank_paintball_1

Do you think it would be interesting to have a Internet game with real webcamrobots in a paintball/laserdome battle and be able to hunt real people with the robot?

--------------------
Scandinavia and north of Europe get a delay/lag around 0.3-0.5 sec.
The rest of the world get a delay/lag around 1-3 sec because they have a satellite link.
Some few people get lucky and don't get a satellite link from USA or Australia and then get a delay/lag around 0.5-1 sec.
I will try to upgrade the web camera robots, so they will be able to compete against real people on a paintball/laserdome arena/field.

Hello,

Here is my basic goal: to have a self-contained robot (computer) that can be added to most any wireless network (tcp/ip) and be found and recognized via the Internet with no additional set up. That's the ideal. To try this I'm using a Linksys router on a small LAN with Windows computers.

I note that Dell can remotely service a computer on a LAN. After giving Dell a code number on the computer, they can call a LAN, locate the computer and work on it remotely. This seems like a very good way of doing things and I'm wondering what they do and how they implement it?

Or, is there a better way? I've been looking at ARP a to find IP to MAC address mapping, but I think this is only useful from within the LAN and not from the Internet.

I gather there are two fundamental ways:
1> Port forwarding, which requires router setup.
2> Calling out to a server on the web, which then sets up a bidirectional connection. This would require an outside server.

Is that exhaustive?

I've been mining for information on this problem, trying to find good solutions.

Thanks for any feedback!

...John

Avast takes a look at the hacks from season one of Mr. Robot and explains what businesses can learn from them.

Season one of last summer?s hit new TV show, Mr. Robot, was filled with interesting and, for the most part, accurately portrayed hacks. The hacks were carried out by the show?s main character Elliot and hacker group fsociety. Their goal throughout the season was to take down the multi-national conglomerate, E Corp.

Although the hacks on the show were rather complex and to a certain extent elaborate, there are a few things SMBs can learn from them.

Hello,

Now, to do what i want to do with my robot, i need to share my internet connection. The connection i share the internet connection from is my universities wireless network. I have tried enabling and disabling FIPS on that network, does not change that i get a bluescreen.

The bluescreen itself appears from a few seconds to about a minute after i activate sharing my internet connection. It says Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal.

i attached the .zip file created by dm log collector.

greetings,

edit: the earliest i will be able to test any solutions will be coming monday, nov 7th. i hope i can get the problem fixed until then, since the assignment needs me to run my programs on the ev3.

A curious add-on called "Looking Glass" started popping up on Firefox for a number of users this past week -- even if they didn't give the browser permission to install it. Due to its nebulous nature and creepy description that only said "MY REALITY IS JUST DIFFERENT FROM YOURS," people took to social networks to ask other users and air their concerns. Turns out Looking Glass isn't spamware, malware or any of the sort: it's a promotional campaign for Mr. Robot, a TV series about the life of a cybersecurity-engineer-slash-hacker.

here are the minimum/max specs for this game
**************************************************
Max Supported Color Depth: 8-bit (256 colors); SVGA graphics(256 colors with 640*480 resolution)
Min Operating System: Microsoft Windows 3.1 or later
Min Processor Type: Intel 486 or higher 25 MHz
Min RAM Size: 8 MB

I got a 633 celeron with 256+mb RAM, onboard video--Intel(R) 82810 Graphics Controller and i have XP pro.
***************************************************

I think that the likely problem is the graphics controller, as in display properties under settings all i can select for color quality is either 16bit or 24bit.

I tried to run it by selecting *run in compatibility with Windows95 *run in 256 colors * run in 640*480 screen resolution. but NO luck. i get two black screens and then it quits right back to desktop. is it even possible to run this game on my comp? if yes, what is the problem?????

Good Evening All,
I have a Inspiron 3847 desktop and a couple of days ago the computer started to sound like a robot, i.e slow and breaking up. To my knowledge all of the software is up to date. The problem is fixed when I restart the computer. Anyone have a fix for this problem?
Thanks

A:Inspiron 3847 desktop, Audio sounding like a robot

You said the issue fixes itself on reboot. So what software and applications are you running and how long is your usage before the audio issue shows up again?

back in ye days of olde There was a game for the Tandy TRS-80 Model 1 called "Robot Nimh"
You had Robots in (4?) rows, and the one on the end would "shoot" the number of Robot's you typed in. Object I beleive (been several years since I played it) was the human player had to have the last Robot standing to win the game from the computer.
:
QUESTION: has this game ever been ported over to run with QuickBasic, or QBasic, & if so where can it be found?

Hello,

I visited some of the movie download websites last week and since luck didn't favour me well enough, I was rather infected with a strange kind of virus or whatever we want to call it..The symptoms are as follows:

1. A lot of executable programs cannot be launched or will throw the typical Windows 7 "Program has stopped working" error. This includes Skype, Chrome, Mcafee (but background tasks are running), Malwarebytes, IE (but it works now), etc. & even OTL.exe.

2. Internet browsing speed has slowed down quite a bit. Sometimes the page just doesn't load.

3. Guest windows logon doesn't work. As soon as you click on Guest, it logs you off immediately.

I used the DDS scanning program which fortunately worked and here is the log file. My apologies if I wasn't supposed to run this program. And as always, thanks much in advance for your valuable time for fixing my mess..

Obviously the translation to 64 bit will mean more power, and more ram support, but if someone installs the 64 bit version, are 32 bit apps backwards compatible?
Is there a good reason to wait until most software is coded to 64 bit? I do understand that a 32 bit app gains nothing from running in a 64 bit enviroment, however, if I have a 64 bit app, and the plug ins are 32 bit I would think I will see some sort of processing increase. thanks,

A:64 bit a 32 bit killer?

I don't have experience with 64-bit OS or applications, but I would imagine that the 64-bit OS would have a "32-bit compatibility mode", similar to how when WindowsNT was released, it had a 16-bit compatibility mode.

The apps ran in their own memory space, and ran slower than true 32 bit apps (and tended to cause more problems as well.)

I'll begin with what happened first. After downloading a Windows keygen from a site I had never heard of before (WGA is a nuisance, you see,) I turned off the computer. When I turned it back on, my laptop might as well have been blaring the Lord's Prayer backwards from its speakers. After the taskbar appeared, a couple windows of DOS came up, NTVDM.exe, and 2 or 3 win???.exe's (eg:win50A.tmp.exe) After startup, a little red shield with an X on it said I was infected. My first reaction was "No bleep," then, "wait a second... Windows, SUPPLYING VIRUS PROTECTION?!!" Well, It wasn't Windows. Its source was pipmon.exe, and I found instructions on how to remove it on this site. (Find .exe and .tmp, delete, delete registry file.) Speaking of TMP's there were some of those the next time I started up. I tried clearing the hard drive of all *.tmp*.chk,~*.*, but all the bad stuff stayed. I tried deleting it with Unlocker, but most of it still stayed even after a reboot. I ran something called smitfraudfix, but it couldn't clear the registry. I uncovered several trojans using HouseCall, but removing those didn't do much. The worst has passed, but there is still very much to do. On startup, I get "run dll as an app" errors, and something called "gxneoyqt.exe" is asking for internet access. After I deny it access with ZoneAlarm, several numbered .exe's start asking for access, with new, higher numbered ones appearing all the t... Read more

Hello everyone!

I've read threads of NAV users who were experiencing problems with the SYMTDI.vxd file missing, like myself, but none of them could solve mine.
on booting i get a "cannot find a device file..... the windows registry or system.ini file refer to this device file.... try uninstalling...." message, but windows starts up in safe mode and requires a password, which i don't have!
i also get 2 error messages: of Nprotect.exe and Mprexe causing error in module user.exe.
after closing them i sit face to face with a twisted version of my wallpaper, nothing on top of it or below.
does anyone have a solution?
I have W98SE and NAV 2003.

Thank you,
Schniff
