I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: wifi internet

No problem with that, its not you, its just the site is a bit slow, depends how busy it is.

I am currently stationed in Germany, and live in a village that has horrible internet. I cannot stream netflix, hulu, and downloads take several hours.

Is there a way to combine the internet that my cell phone receives and the wifi router I have at home to increase speed?

I have the ability to create a wifi hotspot from my cell phone if this helps.

Just something I thought up in my head, and wanted to find out if it is possible. Thanks in advance.

Although I am connected to our wireless network on the Folio 13, there is no internet connection. I can, however, connect to the internet via Wifi on two other household laptops, both of them HP, so I believe the problem is with the Folio itself. I can also connect to other computers on the network on the Folio, but something is preventing it from getting on the internet. I can only get the internet via hardwired ethernet connection on the Folio. I have tried the following fixes, multiple times, without success: -Run the Windows troubleshooter for Internet/Network. It says the connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and the internet is broken. (But not on other wifi computers here--works fine.)-Reboot/Reset the modem.-Disable/Renable the wifi adapter (Intel Centrino Wireless N 1030)-Update wifi adapter driver (it says driver is up to date)-Uninstall/reinstall wifi adapter-Remove Wifi Network from list of available networks; reboot, add this network back in-Roll back all Windows updates from the past month-Searched self-help forums for a possible solution And yes, the wifi keyboard light is blue, not orange. Can someone help please?

I have been trying for some time to accomplish the title result. I'm not techie enough to do it.

What I want is to be able to use a Tablet to read in the rear of my home (which is out of range for incoming wifi signal.)

If I can set up the computer to do this, I will cable connect to a router in that area.
I have two computers and could use either.

1.a PC running XP (should update to windows 8.1, but have never bothered to do that, since XP works just fine. (I had this computer sharing to the router, when I had DSL internet connection, using Windows wizard to set it up) Couldn't get it to work when I switched to WIFI internet access) I could switch to win 7 or 8.1 if that would help.

2. a Lap Top running WIN 8.1,

Any help is appreciated.

A:Internet access via WIFI and share WIFI via second router

Due to the age of XP this is not the best option for what you want to do

Either windows 7 or 8.1 have access to Internet connection sharing (ICS) built in

To use ICS you need at least two connections to the local LAN, these can be any mix of wifi or Ethernet.

As you have a laptop you likely already have a system to use for this

There is a tutorial explaining the basics ... and more on this site

Check it out and post back if you have any issues

So I got a new router yesterday to replace the old one, and I've been working on it for a long time. But I can't seem to figure out why there isn't any internet connection. The new WiFi Router (D-Link DR-842) Shows it is connected to the internet (green light) but in the setup page, it says disconnected. Could the PPPoE details be causing this? As far as I know everything is correctly set up except for the internet part.

Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 with Windows 7. I have been using Time Warner Internet. It worked fine until yesterday. WiFi stopped working out of the blue. When I tried, wired connection works pretty well. I do not recall any significant changes to my computer while this happened. So now I can connect to the wifi hotspot but it says "No Internet Connection". When I connect the LAN wire with the WiFi router, internet works. The moment I remove it, it says No Internet Access, although computer is connected to the hotspot and signal is very well.

The drivers are being shown as up to date in device manager.

I tried following instructions given here: http://www.wikihow.com/Repair-Winsock-and-TCP/IP
This didn't work. Problem persists.

I have been through some threads around here. This is the ipconfig output:

I've been battling this particular issue for a couple of weeks now without much success. I have a custom built desktop where my WIFI connection will deteriorate to the point where internet (and gaming over Steam, etc...) will be either painfully slow or unable to load pages at all. Windows claims throughout that I am connected to my WIFI network with internet access and good signal, even when I cannot reach any internet pages.

This problem has happened at 2 different locations (on different WIFI networks), and with 3 different WIFI adapters (TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 PCI, TRENDnet TEW-684UB USB, Edimax EW-7811Un). At both locations, I have another laptop and a phone that can connect to the WIFI network just fine. I even got a couple of the adapters to work fine on the laptop without the issue.

I've found that disabling NetBIOS seems to temporarily improve matters (I'd read elsewhere that that can cause issues), but it has not resolved the problem. Also: I'm getting DNS errors in the Windows 7 event logs:

"Name resolution for the name XXXX timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded."

ipconfig results are posted below. Images of Xirrus (1) and its connection test (3) are attached. Any help is very much appreciated!

Hi All,
I have established a Virtual Wifi Miniport and would like to share my laptops internet via the Miniport. Whenever I connect my android phone with this access point, it works perfectly for a few minutes and then all of a sudden there is no internet on the phone. The phone remains connected to the laptop hotspot but the internet access is no more there. Now at this point if I disconnect the connection between my phone and the hotspot and then again try to reconnect back again, it wont even connect. The phone will keep on searching and shows connecting status but can never connect. I have tried all sorts of softwares connectify, virtual router, intel mywifi and even tried to create a hotspot from the cmd using netsh command. All the hotspots work in the exact same way intially works perfect but maybe after half an hour internet is gone. I have completed all the steps properly even changed the settings in the laptop adapter with interet access to allow other networks to connect but nothing seems to work. I have a Windows 7 Machine and my wireless adapter is Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless N-100 and the drivers are up to date according to windows. I know that its a problem with my laptop/OS or something because my android phone can connect and remain connected( without losing internet ) to the connectify hotspot in my wifi enabled desktop PC.I am breaking my head over this for the past 15 days even formatted my system once but no use. Please help if you can..please!

Hey everyone, sorry if this is in wrong area.

So today I bought a secondhand computer. It's a Toshiba Satelite L875D-S7230.

When I connect it to my home wifi it connects no problem and says 'internet access' when I hover over the icon. However when I open open google chrome or internet explorer and type in a site, it takes a little while then says this page cannot be displayed or this web page is unavailable.

The guy I bought it from says he had no issues. And I know it's not the internet because I'm using the internet to post this from phone.
I've tried a few ideas that worked for other people on other forums like using cmd box but to no avail.

Has anyone got any idea why the computer is being such a turd?? Can anyway give advice on how to fix the problem? Thank you all so much!

Hi @Kazma, Welcome to the HP Forums! I read your post on the HP Support Forums and wanted to reach out to you.  I see you are having issues with the Wireless and your HP ENVY x360 Notebook. This could be due to the Wireless adapter entering a power save mode on the Notebook.  Here is a link that shows you how to enable away mode. It enables your computer to continue performing tasks, such as recording television programs or sharing video and music, even if you walk away from the computer. Specifically, when the computer is in Away mode. Please let me know how this goes. Please click the Thumbs up below to thank me for my efforts!  Thanks.

Hi. I have tried everything for countless hours today with no avail. Yellow exclamation mark in the WiFi icon, No Internet, DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN when I try to use Chrome, No network access and unidentified network in the Centre. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless card, changing drivers, all sorts of DNS, all sorts of commands, rebooting everything, ethernet cable, virus scans, disabling firewalls and so on. This all happened when I updated yesterday and then uninstalled AVG, before it was working fine. Internet works like a charm on other devices, and my wireless card is listed as working properly when checked. I have no idea what else to try. Thank you.

Hello there everyone;

So my HP laptop mostly works just fine, it starts up well & etc. My problem begins when I try to connect to the WiFi. It will say I?m connected but there is a little yellow warning sign (??) meaning that I am connect to the WiFi but there is no internet access. I tried the usual things like restarting my router and computer, I even went online on my cellphone where an article suggested I dump my IP address, but nothing worked. I even went to a friends house and connected to their WiFi to see if it was just mine causing the issue, but I had the same problem on their WiFi as well. I?m worried it might be that my driver is outdated, but I can?t connect to the internet to download an updated one and see if that helps. What do I do?

Any help/advice is Greatly appreciated!!

Thank you!

A:WiFi but no Internet

Hi

You need to start the basics. Also I am assuming that you are running Windows 10...

When did it last work? and what has changed

If other devices in your house works then we know the internet is fine, I would check that the wifi is on the same Wifi network as your router. Without going to deep/technical there should be a option on your Wifi icon, Right click and start "Troubleshotting Problems" run that and see what happens.

If you can plug a network cable and check to see if you at least connect using that.

OK, I'm new here so take it easy on me. But my questions is this;

I have a CCTV camera the is connected to the internet via 3G/4G but also has it's own WiFi. I can connect to it via cell phone or laptop locally. But when 3G goes down I can't connect remotely. So here is what I would like to see if I can do. I have a WiFi close by from the house can I connect the camera to my WiFi in the house to connect to the camera?

One important snag, I can't access the home router to reconfigure, as this is provided by my ISP. Should I connect a router to the ISP router to have access to port forwarding and other router functions?

A:3G/4G Internet with WiFi

What the make and exact model numbers of "all" devices.....camera, laptop and router?

You can access the router (any router to include ISP routers) via the web based page. You access by typing 192.168.x.x where the x's are either 0 or 1 or some order of that.

Hey guys... I'm at my wits end here and hoping someone can help me out.

I've been happily able to switch between my Ethernet and WiFi connections at home with no issues forever. When I'm in my home office I am connected via Ethernet because it's a considerably faster connection but, every so often, I bring my laptop to another room and connect via WiFi. Never has this been an issue.

4 days ago, I grew tired of the constant task bar pop-ups from Avira Free AV and decided to kill it and give Panda Free AV a try. Things had been going swimmingly since then so I had no reason to think there was an issue... until today that is. For the first time since I installed it, I hopped downstairs to play with my son and thus connected via WiFi. Every other device in this house (and there's a lot of them) is connected via WiFi with no issues but lucky me, upon switching to WiFi I see the dreaded yellow ! over my connection. I disconnect and reconnect a few times. I even go so far as to forget the network. Nothing. So, I run upstairs and power cycle the modem. This is where things get weird....

Power cycling the modem/router worked so I went on with life. After an hour or so I shut down my laptop and all was right with the world. Then 2-hours later, I boot it back up and wouldn't you know it the dang yellow ! is back. It is at this point that I realize it's gotta be something going on with my laptop. Yes power cycling the modem/router worked before but out of every device on my network m... Read more

Using Win10 my Sony Vaio laptop connects ok to my BT wireless router but after a short while I lose the Internet connection. This happens because Win10 decides to switch to another wireless network which is secured and I do not have the password. When I disconnect this other network, reconnect back to mine, tick connect automatically I get Internet connection again only to lose it for the same reason a few minutes later. I guess it is WiFi Sense doing this but if so it should be renamed WiFi NonSense. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug ?
Thanks for any input.

Go to the settings under the Wi-Fi Sense heading
Turn off "Connect to suggested open hotspots"
and/or

I have BT 2WIRE wifi router (downstairs) that is connected to the internet and my laptop and PS3 are too via WEP.

However, i have installed Ubuntu on PS3 and wish to use ethernet as the wifi doesnt work on this version of Ubuntu without messing around with it.

So i have a second wifi router, the BT HomeHub (in my room), currently with no internet.

Basically i want to connect to the internet with the laptop over wifi using the BT 2WIRE, and i want to connect to the internet via ethernet with the PS3 using the HomeHub.

So i just need to wifi the internet to the second router OR i wouldnt mind connecting the PS3 through an ethernet on my laptop.

Maybe someone can help.  I just returned from a vacation overseas.  At the last hotel, which had free wifi, I logged in with their provided user ID and password.  I connected to the network, but could not get Internet access.  My other devices (iPod Touch, iPad) got the Internet just fine.  I had had Internet access at this same hotel a few days earlier.  At an intervening hotel, I couldn't get the Internet either (my other devices could), but I thought that might have been because the Internet was so slow there, barely above modem speeds from forty years ago.   Any idea what it could be?  I'm home, and obviously it is fine here.   I have an Envy 17t notebook.

OK ..

im sure this is something silly and simple.. at least I hope it is.

I have a laptop with wireless. ... I can search for wifi networks.. like the airport and starbuck... find the list of networks available.. and hit connect.. and it says conected.

Then when I open up my Web Browser.. nothing ! Page cannot be displayed. as tho i have no connection. I have tried it with a few different places .. like the public wifi places and still nothing.. and even on a private network in my friends house

Im sure its a setting or something.. though I have the automatically detect settings selected in the internet options.

Its like the computer is connecting to the network.. but yet its realising that OH I should be using this connection for the Internet !!!

Im pretty good at sorting out problems with PCs / Windows thou I have no expierence of wireless networks so am totaly lost.

Hope this makes sense !
Thanks
Paddy

A:Connected to WIFI but no Internet ?

When you seem to be connected, open a Command window and type
ipconfig /all

Does your wireless show "Yes" for "Dhcp Enabled" and for Autoconfiguration Enabled ? If not, you need to go into your TCP/IP properties and set to 'obtain IP auto' and 'obtain DNS auto.'

If your wireless is showing an IP of 169.254.x.y it did not successfully get an IP configuration from the router or server. Is there a chance that the wrong driver is installed--maybe one for the wrong region of the world (for example, US and Canada use channels 1-11 while most of Europe uses channels 1-13).

If not the above, post the ipconfig here. One way to do so is to type
ipconfig /all >C:\ipconfig.txt
This will put the results in the ipconfig text file on your hard drive; you can open it with notepad to copy and paste here.

I can connect to my home router through ethernet with my laptop, and I can connect wirelessly to it with other computers.

My laptop can also connect wirelessly to routers other than the home router. For some reason I'm having issues connecting wirelessly specifically with this laptop through this specific router. I need help troubleshooting. Diagnose and repair said there may be a problem with the DNS configuration.

I can't ping IP addresses either even the internet connection icon on the bottom right of the screen indicates that its connected to both my LAN and internet.

I can't connect to the NAS, so the LAN isn't working either.

Sorry, the title wasn't well thought out. I would have edited it if it was an option.

Hello, lets do some cleaning up and see if that helps you out .
How to Flush DNS in Windows Using the Command Prompt

Step 1 ? Close all open web browsers and applications on your computer.

Step 2 ? Open the Windows command prompt by selecting the ?Start? menu and entering ?cmd? in the search text field box followed by clicking the ?enter? key.

Step 3 ? At the command prompt, enter ?ipconfig /flushdns? followed by pressing the ?enter? key. After a moment, Windows will display a message similar to: ?Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.? Once the message is displayed, the DNS will be flushed removing all incorrect entries.

Then , we want to get the IP reset, so, lets renew its settings and see if this also helps out :
you will type in the command box : ipconfig /release then enter, then next ipconfig /renew then enter, this will reset the IP , now restart and attempt to have it reconfigure its connections to your router. Post back results please.

Hey there. This is my first post on this forum, I hope that I can get some help here . Anyways, here is the issue that my roommates and I are experiencing with our internet.

Recently, starting just a few weeks ago, our internet began acting a bit strange for all of us. We are able to constantly stay connected 24/7. In our network preferences, it says we are always connected to the internet with full bars. For the most part, we all have perfect and fast internet connection, but for some unknown reason, every 45 minutes or so (sometimes shorter, sometimes longer), we won't be able to load anything on the internet from a range of about 5-10 minutes.

The strange thing is that even during these periods of time where we are unable to load anything, as if we had no wifi connection, all of our devices that we use the internet on said that we all still had a perfect connection. Even if we are sitting right next to the router with our laptops, this issue will still constantly reoccur as i described earlier.

What's even weirder is that sometimes things like video games on the pc that run in different clients (not the internet browser), will be able to maintain internet connection when playing online when the internet stops working for everything else. That is definitely what confuses me the most. How could a video game maintain internet connection for online play on the same wifi, yet none of our other devices are able to load anything? We won't even be able to use w... Read more

Try assigning a free public DNS server on the router.

I am using a Toshiba laptop and it has windows 8.1. I have connected it to the home wifi which other devices are connected just fine to. When I open a browser the page states "This Page Cannot Be Displayed" and then when I diagnose the problem it says a problem cannot be identified. So then I will type in Google- it will populate and I can search for the site I want. But as soon as I click on the site the page states: This page cannot be displayed again.

Hello All,Here are the details.  I am able to open the Launch Manager (Fn+F3) and turn on wifi, but it doen't actualy turn on wifi.  I see a red X over the internet bars in the system tray - bottem righ corner. I am able to connect to the internet via LAN cable. Nothing seems to be happneing when I use the manual wifi slider/butten on the front, bottom right of the lapttop. It usually lights up an orange LED when used, but nothing is happening when I slide it. I have used both these metheds to turn on/off the wifi over the last year with out any issues.  I haven't preformed updates or installed software before/after having this issue - other than to update the wireless drivers. I'm running Win7 on an Acer Travelmate P643-M.Any thoughts or tests I can run?THANKS so much,Jay

There are our laptops being used in this house, one of which (Dell Inspiron) won't connect to the WiFi. It also has a habit of shutting down. There is no WiFi problem with the other three. I have tried Googling the problem but nothing of much use was found.

Help would be much appreciated.  Thank you.

A:Can't access WiFi or internet. Help please.

Really silly question - but the wi-fi on this Inspiron is enabled ?  Surprising how often the obvious gets overlooked.

Go into 'Device Manager' and look for any yellow exclamation marks against your wi-fi adapter - click 'Start - RIGHT click on 'Computer' - click 'Properties' - click Device manager in the top left hand corner'. You will see an item 'Network adapters' with a + beside it. Click on the '+' to expand it and you should see your wi-fi adapter listed. If it has any sort of mark against it, double click on it and see if you can find any info on the problem. In any case, make a note of the maker and model. Problems in this area are usually caused by the drivers. Uninstall the drivers for it, and on another computer, go to the Dell web-site and download the wi-fi drivers for your Inspiron, copy them to some convenient location on the faulty computer then install them. Re-boot, and with any luck your wi-fi will be working again.

It is possible that the wi-fi unit itself has failed. If it is not physically built into the motherboard it may be possible to replace it with a new one. But the simplest and cheapest solution I have found is to use an external USB wi-fi dongle. These are widely available and fairly cheap, starting at under £UK 20 and going up.

Hello everyone, so the other day my PC unexpectedly shut down and been giving connectivity issues since.
Currently, I can connect to my WIFI router, gain an IP address. however I am getting no internet access.
I have a virtual machine running on the PC, with windows XP, and this machine does have full internet access.

Problems and resolutions so far:

Windows firewall and security manager were corrupted and various services did not start however all are up now.I reset the TCPIP stack via command prompt.I reinstalled Wifi drivers.I ran the sfc and chkdisk  commands. Check disk resolved some issues.I did a traceroute and i hit my router, after there is a request timeout then it goes to a few addresses before stopping.

Im lost now as everything seems to be up, just I am unable to browse. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Rango.

I have an ASUS transformerbook T100 running Windows 10.

It was working absolutely fine but then stopped being able to connect to the internet. It has no problems connecting to wireless networks, I have tried it on 3 different ones. Every time it just says that there is no internet connection. All 3 of these networks are working fine with other wireless devices.

I have reset my router, and removed all security from it to no effect. I have also re-installed the WiFi drivers.

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

A:Can connect to WiFi but never the internet

Hi there,

Just to verify, your computer can connect to the wireless network it keeps on saying no internet connection? If so, try connecting to your router via ethernet using a network cable. See if you're able to get an internet connection using a network cable.

Hope everything works out well for you.
