Speakers give off Echo sound. Help!!

Q: Speakers give off Echo sound. Help!!

I was referred to this forum from: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic220249-30.htmlRecently my speakers havent been giving off any sound. I went to Control Panel>Sounds and audio devices>Voice>Test Hardware and noticed the Playback volume was all the way down. After bringing it back up I got my sound back but now my speakers give off a echo with every sound. Like its being played in a hall or something. Any help would be appreciated.

Preferred Solution: Speakers give off Echo sound. Help!!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Speakers give off Echo sound. Help!!

Sounds like a feedback problem with the microphone. Switch off the mic and see if that helps.

Hi Lenovo and everyone, I have two issues with the sound of my Y700-15ISK:I.When any Realtek driver is installed that includes support for the subwoofer, a high pass filter is applied on the main stereo speakers, making sound poorer and more mono-like, especially with enhanced bass using an equalizer.(High pass filter removes low bass frequencies from the main stereo speakers.)(When the default Microsoft driver is installed that does not have subwoofer support, no high pass filter is applied on the main stereo speakers.)Is there a way to disable the high pass filter? I would like bass to come from the main stereo speakers as well. I see no such option on any of the available GUIs, is there such an option from a Command Line Interface? If there is no such option currently, could you put this option in a subsequent driver release, or simply remove the high pass filter from the driver? If you do not have the resources to do so, could you enable us to modify the driver source code and create a custom driver without high pass filter? I am sure the community would love the enhanced music coming from this and similar laptops using the updated driver.(Win 10 or Win7) II.Only on Win7:Subwoofer is out of sync with the main stereo speakers resulting in echo.Happens using Lenovo's Win7 64-bit, Win10 64-bit, and Realtek's generic driver as well. Could you guys fix this? Does anyone have a solution for these? Thanks,Andras

I recently went into my computer to install a Corsair H80 Water pump for the GPU. Anyhow, after i connected all the cables and turned on the computer again i did not have any sound. Even though im not an expert with computers, i'm pretty sure all the cables are connected right (but there is always a possibility i screwed up there).
I do have sound devices, that is not the issue. After the first pc boot i had the Realtek digital output (realtek high definition audio) as the sound device. I went into the control panel and pressed sound. The previous audio device (that i had and was working) was there, but stated as "Not plugged in".
So, my computer does not detect or react as i connect any headsets nor speakers. I also checked the audio in the mixer to see that it "plays sound" which i can confirm.
I have searched the web for people with the same issues and tried a few "solutions" but none of them worked for me.
They were:
1. Uninstall and reinstalling the drivers
2. Making sure i got the latest versions of the drivers
3. Turning on the front jack panel in the Realtek HD Audio Manager, which resulted with the speakers apparing to be connected and works according to the computer but still no sound.
4. Tried different speakers and headphones.

So my question is, do you guys have any idea what to do? I have been sitting on this problem for quite a while now.

After trying several things im starting to believe it might be me who failed at connec... Read more

A:Audio devices undetected. Headphones or Speakers give no sound

The first thing to do, since you had it apart to install the water cooler, is to double (or triple) check all the internal cabling between the motherboard and the front panel connections. Second is to doublecheck the connections from your speaker system to the PC.

What is the status of the Realtek in the Device Manager? Does it show an error or does it show "working correctly"?

Are your "Speakers" set as the Default audio playback device in the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound and finally the Sound Panel?

Has audio worked since reinstalling? Did you reinstall the Intel motherboard chipset drivers when your reinstalled? The motherboard chipset drivers are critical and many devices either will not work or not work correctly without the chipset drivers.

I know these are a lot of questions but a place to start.

This is a new pc with Windows 7.. This is my first attempt to 'fix' anything in Windows 7. When I plugged in my headset, primarily to be able to use Skype, it didn't work. I did get the headset to work, but then both the speakers and the headset developed a major echoing problem. Prior to this, the sound was normal. How can I remove the echo? Incidently, in my attempts to get the headset to work I tried to open my 'Entertainment' folder from " Accessories' for the first time and found out that it was 'empty'! I don't know if these two problems are related?

Hi there, I've noticed that out of the blue, when I play any sound through the Dell speakers on my system, the vocals and some of the music sounds like it's echoing or very distant. I've played the same music through a pair of USB headphones and it sounds fine so I can only deduce that it's a problem with either the speakers or the sounds card/driver. I have turned off all presets/effects and the issue is still there. I hope someone might have some clues as to why this is happening. The driver is the latest available from Dell. Cheers, Pete

Hi guys, just reinstalled windows 7. everything works great, then I went to paly a file and to my surprise, no sound. Tested speakers on another device, they work. Sound card drivers are working and up to date.

When I play a media file, I can see the sound gage go. So I went in sounds, playback device, and all I see in there is my sound card, no speakers or headphones icon. Thus no sounds from speakers. Tried other headphones/speakers they also dont work on the PC.

First two screenshots are my Device Manager, third one shows my playback devices.. My wife needs this for her business and I am losing sleep over this for days now I tried everything. Any ideas?

Hi -

What sound card do you have?

Double-click on the HD audio device in Device Manager - what is driver and date?

Usually there is an audio codec/ drivers, e.g., IDT, Realtek, etc... that must be installed.

What are system specs - exact model number from label on back of PC, please.

A:Echo/UFO Sound

No PC Spec's or at least the make and model number of the laptop, so we can't specifically address your system.

However, some audio systems, such as Realtek have a separate management panel (Realtek has the HD Audio Manager) with Sound Enhancement options including Echo, reverb, chorus, etc. Check yours and turn off any enhancement.

I am using an Inspiron 15 3558. It is brand new (bought on 04/03/16) but I am having a sound issue when I use my Skullcandy earphones. When I watch videos online (which is  quite often) I have echoing sound. This issue occurs when the video is just starting or if it has been paused at any point (such as buffering) and resumed. This echo only occur when I use headphones. I have used the HDMI output and the built-in speaker system and have not experienced the echo with those.
I have fund a temporary solution in unplugging the headphones and plugging them back in while continuing the play the video. However, this solution becomes a problem for those around me who are uninterested in my media while they themselves are watching and listening to their media.
Are there any more permanent solutions?

Could you remove and reinstall the audio driver? You can do this in the device manager (Go to Start>Right Click on My Computer>Select Manage>Select Device Manager in left hand pane>Double Click on Sound, Video and Game Controllers>Right Click on Driver thats shows up and select Uninstall.

Go to the computer manufacturer's website to obtain sound driver or simply install from provided CD.

Hey there

Sound echoes while playing games and also screen freezes for a few seconds. Games I have are Empire Total War and League of Legends, and it also stutters and freezes even in the opening cinematics of Empire Total War. League of Legends shows sudden FPS drops from 90-110 to 5-10 for a few seconds, sometimes every 5 seconds sometimes playable for 30 seconds. It used to work fine for the first three months and suddenly went crazy on me. There are no other programs on the PC except Avast antivirus software. Here are the list of things I have done;

Reloaded to factory settings..
Updated graphic cards, Intel Storage Technologies, Wi-Fi card and BIOS.
Deactivated card reader slot, integrated webcam and ethernet card.
There were sudden drops on network usage so while testing for games deaktivated wi-fi card.
Did defrag, chkdisk and memtest, no problems whatsoever.
Deactivated Intel low power graphics card and tried to run purely on Radeon.
Changed Windows used CPU number and fixed it to 8.

To no avail. Also, while watching streaming movies, sound plays fine but video freezes for a second while streaming, but when I wait and download all the movie, it plays just fine.

Any suggestions?
