How to remove dragon branch

Q: How to remove dragon branch

Hi guys

I have dragon branch installed on my computer. i dont know how it got installed in the first place. i uninstalled it but now it keeps on popping up. Does anyone know what to do about it. ??

Preferred Solution: How to remove dragon branch

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

The backstory is... I clicked on a close pop-up X on B&H Photo's website and Chrome was quickly covered in ads. I had Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 on my pc but it didn't detect anything before then. I tried system restore to the day before but it didn't solve the issue. After upgrading to KIS 2016 it found Dragon Branch and treated it. After a reboot it was back.

So I went into safe mode, disconnected from the internet and uninstalled it (it looked like it was installed with another program back in April), reset my browsers to their defaults, deleted temp internet files and emptied the recycling bin. I thought it was gone for a while, but then I noticed that files were missing from at least one of my internal hard drives. The files would be gone in a folder, but sub-folders remained (but were empty). For other files, I could see them but they won't open. While others were unaffected.

I saw on one of the forum pages to rebuild the search index. I started that but after 12 hrs, it was still less than 1/3 the way through (I have a lot of photo files). So I paused that and ran Malwarebytes - it found DragonBranch.A, OpenCandy and AceWebExtension.A. It treated them and after a reboot, rerunning Malwarebytes didn't find anything.

I then ran sfc /scannow - it found corrupt files but couldn't repair them all. So I ran it two more times (the post suggested that it may take 3 or more runs). At this point, I went to see if the files were back, but the hard drive ... Read more

A:1st files gone, now the drive - cleared Dragon Branch & ran sfc

Hi all,
Looks like they were two separate events happening at the same time. I starting going down that line of thought thinking the hard drive simply failed. But on some reboots I get an error message that no keyboard is found, even with a usb keyboard. I read in a different post that that is a sign that the motherboard is failing. When I plug the usb keyboard into a usb slot on a pci card, there is no error.
I had tried reboots before and it made no difference with the current issue. Then, when I thought I was taking out the defective drive just now, I took out the boot drive instead. A reboot quickly pointed that out. When I put it back in, the missing drive was back!
So, I'm now thinking its a motherboard issue. I'm copying the files across to another drive, as I type, in case it is the drive and I got a lucky window of access. Its probably time to build a new PC.

I dissagree in some part.

To say OOP as a whole is a failure i tihnk would be over generalising things. In some respects there has been no visible use for it. But in terms of some software devlopment it has been a vast improvement.

For example since switching all of my PHP web applications to a OOP scheme has enabled me to create moremodular designs capable of greater flexibility and scalability. Also i have noticed significant speed and efficiency increases over traditional code schemes.

I want to connect my main office with 5 branch offices, all branches have windows 2000 or 2003 server, wich would be the best way (and economic) to do this...

-Via Sofware (ISA Server or Windows) or
-Via Hardware ($$$)

What would be the mains problems of doing it via software???

A:Connect Branch Office Via VPN

The way I do it for a chain of doctors offices is through linksys VPN routers. Yes there are better ways, but we run a practice management software on a unix server using an emulation software so we don't send and recieve a lot of data. But the linksys VPN routers also use netbios so the machine son the other end are in your network neighborhood. It just depends on what you need to do over that VPN connection. Oh, and you need a static WAN IP address from your ISP at the main location.

Hi all

I have a branch office that uses a low grade home router vpn link to connect to our main office this causes very slow response time when users are connecting to mapped drives.

Im thinking of going the rodc route further down the road when we go to server 2008 to improve log on times, but a rodc to my understanding does not have anything to do with the mapped drives as its not a full copy of the main office DC.

For now id like to speed up the access times to the mapped drives for the branch office users, Im musing over having them stored locally on a pc hooked onto their network and then somehow have the changes mirrored to the main office.

Anyone got an idea?

Thanks for reading

A:Branch office slow link

What are the specifics of your branch office's internet connection? What is slow for the users with mapped drives? Is it mounting the network share and/or the actual file transfers? What router are we talking about?

I hope you're aware that many low grade VPN routers suffer drastic performance issues when they have to do any type of encrypted traffic. You can have a VPN router perform at say around 20 to 30 Mbps of routed throughput but only do about 1 to 2 Mbps when moving data across a VPN tunnel. Also, you may have to manually adjust your MTU settings on both ends of the VPN tunnel to account for fragmentation and overhead of the VPN tunnel.

Depending on the speed of your remote branch Internet connection, it may be worth the expense to upgrade the router to see if this helps. It'll be cheaper than the other alternative which is to implement a WAN acceleration product.

Hello all, and thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Seems like a simple enough question, but not one I'm easily finding an answer to - either here or in Google. If I'm the 4,376,124th user to ask this question, then please be done with me and point me at the right link. I'd appreciate it.

I'm doing a clean install of Windows 7 and, at some point, plan to branch off from Administrator and create a Standard User account which I will use thereafter. Many people seem to believe this is the safest way to run - though in the past I've always just done the simple thing and run as Admin all the time. If you think this is a bad idea, point me to a link or tell me why. I'd really appreciate it.

Otherwise, my question is this: When do I create and make the switch over to the new Standard (non-Admin) account? Right after I've install W7 and all the drivers and all the updates, OR later after I've installed Office, Photoshop, and all my various utilities? Not having done this before, it's unclear to me whether everything I install with just the Admin account will be visible with the Standard User account. It'd be nice to make the switch AFTER I've installed essentially everything I plan to use so that all the software would be accessible to both Admin and Standard user. Does that make sense?

You'd think Microsoft would have a simple discussion about this on their website since they really push not running all the time as admin. Perhaps I'm just not finding it, though I thin... Read more

A:On a new install, When do I branch off to Standard User?

The standard user account will constantly be badgering you for the admin password to install apps and do various things.

I would at least suggest creating a second user account with admin privileges, this way if there is a problem, you can always return to the clean main admin account to troubleshoot and attempt resolution.

If you are the only person using the machine and plan on installing an antivirus application I really don't see the harm in using a user account with admin privs, I would not use the primary admin account though.

First thing, I know next to nothing about computers.
We have a problem with our monitor switching off after start-up. The only way we can turn on the computer is by disabling the video card (Radeon x1300 pro).

Last thing that we did before the computer stopped working was to load suggested Windows Updates.
"Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - August 2009 (KB890830)
Update for Windows Mail Junk E-mail Filter [August 2009] (KB905866)
Security Update for Windows Vista (KB973540)
Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Junk Email Filter (KB972691)
Security Update for Windows Vista (KB973507, KB971657, KB971557, KB956744)"

We have tried updating the Radeon Video card which is now updated.
We tried re-installing the Viewsonic monitor wizard cd and it said that we had to manually install a component (display optimization files)for Vista but then it wouldn't complete the installation. The viewsonic file in program files is there but empty.

Now I've found that the Monitor device in Device Manager is gone so I can't try to enable or change anything to do with monitors.

A:No monitor branch in device manager

I have no access to another monitor to see if the problem is with the monitor itself.

Just wondering if I should spend the $200 on a new monitor or getting the computer fixed by tech guys?

I am running Win7/Pro x64.

I recently managed to unwittingly move a large branch (multiple levels of branching and many files) into my "My Documents" folder. I would like to undo what I did, but I have no idea how I did it. My guess is that I made a massive misuse of drag-and-drop

Said another way, I had a directory (very large, multi-branched folder) called "MyImageFiles" at the same level on my data drive as "My Documents." Now it is buried one level down in "My Documents."

What is the simplest way to undo this?

So what do you all think? For an audio production workstation, would the i7 5820K be a good fit? Would Avid Pro Tools be able to utilize all 6 cores? If not, the 6700K may be a better fit when it comes out. But I would definitely like some input from people who know the software well may be able to tell me how it interacts with the CPU and whether I should go the quad core route or the 6-core route.

The 6700K does score higher on the PCMark, which is good for the creative side of things. But I want to know if it'll really be better in the long run. Of course, this depends on price as well (dollars per performance vs dollars per longevity).

My recommendation when someone asks me about computers is to buy "overkill" or as much as your wallet can stand. This holds true for a DAW workstation or any PC. Thus if it were me and $$ is no object I would go with the 6700.

Blue screen is a screen for when your computer crashes but no hummingbird. You can check by going to c:\windows\minidump and seeing if there are files with the extension *.dmp. If so upload them to us.

No DMP files included in upload please try this method

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

I've learned now heavily about the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard. I've also learned about the USMT, which I've not yet used in practice, but learned the basics of in the .inf version. Studying that was how I was able to learn this deep into the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard. Basically, the two have similar, but not exactly the same configuration.

Now here I'll post the configuration for the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard. I took what I found already there, and was adding features to it. I didn't create this from scratch, and it would've been silly to, as it's a configuration file.

The SY-K7V DRAGON Plus! features Front Side Bus speed adjustments in 1 MHz increments all the way from 100 MHz (200 MHz DDR) to 233 MHz (466 MHz DDR!).

Core voltage adjustment is available from the same BIOS menu that users can use to overclock with. Voltage adjustments are available in 0.025v increments. You may have to boost it a little to reach the higher FSB.

Please note that Overclocking is inherently risky as it could damage your CPU and invalidate its warranty. This should only be attempted if you know what you are doing and fully accept the associated risks.

DDR2100 is the fastest it needs at the normal FSB, but you can get the FSB to around 150 with good components which would mean you would need DDR2700. That's about as high as I'd go based of info from others on problems others have had going over 150FSB. Plus, I don't ever try to push a board to the max, there's just to much risk.

I'm thinking about buying dragon to help me write papers in college . My problem is trying to decide which version of the software i should buy. Any suggestions? other then the basic you talk it types feature i would like to be able to record my voice to make sure whats on screen is actually what i said. Also does anyone have a favorite mic they use with the software?

A:Dragon which ver

The latest version is needed, as early versions were less than useable.

Even with the latest version, the best quality microphone, a fast CPU, a high quality sound card and many (many) hours of "training" you should not expect any miracles.

This technology is not yet mature. Significant manual input is still needed (this is why typists are not yet an endangered species).

The version also depends on what you are studying - medical language may need a different solution to accountancy as an example.

Dragon NatSpeak - mic in use

I used Dragon Naturally Speaking 5 with no problems a couple of weeks ago.

Since then I have be recording some mp3 files and audio using MusicMatch, Creative Recorder & RealOne. I have not made any changes that I am aware off.

I tried to use "Dragon" today and got a message:
"Microphone is in use by another application".

BTW I am running Win2k.

Any ideas?

A:Dragon NatSpeak - mic in use

I got it!

The new driver I downloaded for my sound card added a second volume panel of it's own. Not the on that's on the System tray.

I went to ADD & Remove programs and removed it.

That took care of the problem.

Good day and Happy New Year to everyone...

Has anyone encountered this problem using Dragon Dictation?

I get this error;

"General Large is not a recognized type" or something to that effect.

then the whole program feezes and I have to use Cntr Alt Del to escape the program??

whats up with that?

The rest of the PC seems to work fine.

I have ran spybot, adaware, virus check, and that online check from "trendmicro" all turned up fine - nothing out of the ordinary found.

The pc has lots of free space and lots of ram memory (768)

Also, it was running great - just stopped all of a sudden

I also tried removing the program using the uninstall feature and re-installing it but it does the same thing.

I'm totally confused.

I can't get the program to run. The dialog box says "NaturallySpeaking isn't installed completely. Please try reinstalling."

I looked in the Help File and it says you will be able to start the program five times without activation. On the 6th attempt to activate, it will no longer open and you won't be able to use the program until you activate it.

You must be connected to the Internet to activate the program. I am suppose to be able to activate the program manually or automatically; to do so I must have access to the dialog box. I can't find it.

Do I really need to reinstall or do I need to find the Activation Dialog box?

Please help. Thanks

A:Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9.5

Hi, unless there was bad programming (I mean like they didn't set up the program nice for installing it and didn't put in the right errors and I doubt this would happen for this prgram), I would reinstall it. The error you are geting is more of a issue with the program it self (from what it says) then an activation issue.

I downloaded a program called "Exposed" It seems to work really good but I have a few questions. Has anyone else ever tried it? I play games in "ion thunder" and the other night I couldn`t get in .I had run "exposed" and I`m not sure if it was
just something that happened from using exposed or what. Anyway turns out my java wasn`t working all of a sudden.Downloaded that again and got in just fine. Also will exposed effect my sigs that I use in "incredimail" ? I would be interested in hearing from anyone else that has used "exposed"
Thanks......have a great day.

A:Exposed by Red Dragon

I am not familiar with 'exposed', but it evidently loaded a different version of java... what else it may have changed on your system is a good question...

Please tell me if there is any hope of pulling this program up without reinstalling. The error messages I am getting are below.

"Dragon Naturally Speaking isn't installed completely. Please try reinstalling." When I click "Details" the following is displayed:
" Cannot find the file 'C:\WINDOWS\speech\vcmd.exe' "

It also pops up a separate dialog box that says "This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose "Switch To" to activate the other program and fix the problem."

Thanks for your help.

I thought you guys would be interested in this. This virus removal product Fix Me Stick was pitched on the CBC show Dragon's Den which is the Canadian version of Shark Tank. You'll notice all five fight over making a deal.

A:Fix Me Stick on Dragon's Den

So....they created a Linux distro on a stick....and they are selling it, how do they limit it? Maybe have a serial? But also, how do we know that the "virus" they put on the computer, did they make the virus just for the test? Also, what i hate the most is people who charge for various removal and virus removal tools. Hook up to the computer using a VNC and charge $99 to do that, sell a Linux stick for $59 instead of having the user take a $5 USB disk and download the ISO, I'm still confused how they do a renewable subscription on this. Unless they render each stick unusable, this having the person buy a BRAND NEW USB stick every year...We didn't even see it in use....

What do you guys think of dragon browser I use W7 and use firefox and rapport and malwarebytes for my banking and opera is my browsing window shop I don't download with this desktop and I also have a avast internet security paid till Feb 2015. After I'm going linux likely for my banking needs unless this is not safe

A:dragon browser

Gordie do you mean the Comodo Dragon browser if so then all I can say is I used it once and I personally would not use it.

Now if you are worried about banking then I can thoroughly recommend Kaspersky Internet Security - which I use as it has a Safe Money feature which uses a type of sandboxing method of opening any financial site you set it to start up any financial dealings.

So for example if I set Joe Blow bank as a Safe Money site then Kaspersky will open that site in its own environment and is separate from anything else you may be running at the same time. You know this because it stars in a screen that has green border all around it. See my pic
