Inspiron 5567 modifications

Q: Inspiron 5567 modifications

There are Inspiron 5567-2655, 5567-2662, 5567-3195, 5567-3201 and 5567-3546 modifications in stores in my town. It says that they are all with i7 7500U, 8GB memory, 1TB HDD and have Radeon R7 M445. OS for all is Win10 Home. I thought that the difference is in the color, but there are three different laptop body coloring and five modifications. What are the differences between these modifications?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Folks
I purchased a new Dell inspiron 5567 i5 7th generation.
Unfortunately i cannot hear any audio from the speakers, I can hear it from my headset after plugging in the same and selecting the input option in maxxaudiopro.
I have updated all the drivers via automatic windows update.
Looking for your help and advice to rectify the same.
Thanks

A:Inspiron 5567

It is a mistake to use windows update for drivers for a new laptop. New laptops do not need any updates.  Dell Laptops have customized Dell drivers so Dell is the only place to get drivers but laptops rarely if ever need updated drivers. Dell will notify you when updates are released if you sign up for notices. Your model is so new that there are no drivers available at the Dell Support site yet. Rollback to your original drivers.
Right click on your Volume Icon on the lower right and check the settings for Playback devices.

Hi all,
I bought a new Dell Inspiron 15 5567 with SSD Hard Disk of 256GB.
I need to install a second drive and I want ask to community if this model can support two internal Hard Disk (SSD + SATA disk) without remove optical drive.
Someone know if it is possible or I have to use an external disk?

Thanks

A:SSD + HD Sata on Inspiron 5567

There is space for just one 2.5' drive internally and no M.2 card drive support - so, the answer is no.  Either you replace the optical drive with a caddy+hard drive, or the second drive must be external.
You need to upgrade to the 7000 series before M.2 drives are supported along with the single 2.5" bay.

I'm thinking about buying a Inspiron 5567 with a full hd screen, 256gb ssd and a i5 cpu. According to dell's webpage, the display has a "antireflective coating". I was wondering if this means that the screen is matt, because in some reviews the screen is described as glossy. Dell also doesn't clearly mention if this laptop has an IPS display. Does anyone have the answers to these questions?

Hi,
I have just come to use the camera on my relatively new Dell Inspiron 5567 and it is now working in any application (e.g. Camera, Skype). In Skype, checking video causes the camera LED to illuminate but no picture is visible.
In Device Manager, the device is present (Integrated Webcam) and is driver version 10.0.14393.82. I have removed and re-added the device. In Windows 10, the camera is available in Privacy settings.
I have run the Dell Diagnostics utility for the camera, and the results are:
RGB Pixel Test FailedRGB Line Driver Test FailedRGB Channel Test FailedRGB Line Amplifier Test FailedRGB Color Depth Test FailedLuminance Depth Test FailedEdge Detection Test FailedCapture To Screen Test PassedCapture To File Test Passed
I can't see anything obvious that I'm missing. Has anyone else seen anything similar?
Cheers,Matt

Hello, i am from Greece and a month ago i bought a Dell Inspiron 15 5567.
I would like to add another SO DIMM DDR4 inside the laptop but as i've seen on videos in youtube, there is no easy way to access the ram slots.

It may or may not work - it's not a supported configuration.  Since you'll have to replace one 8G module with a 16 to try, and since no one will guarantee compatibility, make sure you understand your seller's restocking fee policy before you try this.

Hi,
I've just purchased a Dell Inspiron laptop 15 - 5567 laptop (Scratch and Dent) from the Dell Outlet and it has already crashed upon first use. I had switched it on and managed to set up a username and password and proceeded to customize my PC when it suddenly showed a 'System Error' message (20% complete) and that the PC needed to restart.
I waited for the PC to restart automatically but I don't think anything happened so I think I tried to restart it myself. But when I switched my PC back on again, it just 'hangs' on a PURPLE screen that says, "Just a moment..." I have waited for over 45 minutes and nothing happens!
I've tried switching it on and off again several times but I get the same purple screen with the same wait a moment message each time I try to restart it again. A couple of times upon switching the PC back on again the Dell logo would show before showing the purple screen again. But most of the time when I press the restart button it would go straight to the purple screen.
Does this mean that there is something seriously wrong with it? Does this sound like a serious or minor fault? I really wasn't expecting this upon first use.
Can anybody out there help????
Thanks!

I have just been setting up a new Dell 15 5567 running Windows 10.  I am aiming also to add a Linux OS in a dual-boot setup.  On checking the 1TB hard drive, I see that there are already FIVE primary partitions.  In the order they are listed in Disk Manager, they are:
Disk 0 partition 1     500MB     EFI System partition      (which obviously has the Windows Bootloader)
Disk 0 partition 4     461MB     Recovery partition      100% free
Disk 0 partition 5     12.03GB  Recovery partition      100% free
Disk 0 partition 6       1.12GB  Recovery partition       100% free
OS (C:)      NTFS   917.30GB  Boot, page file etc (system)   96% free

I have a basic, simple understanding of partitioning.  But I do not understand why there are three separate recovery partitions, all apparently empty, and all labelled as primary partitions.
Why are there three?
What are they intended to contain?
Can any of them be deleted, shrunk or otherwise simplified/reorganised in order to free up space in which to install a second OS?
Any helpful advice and explanation would be appreciated...

A:Dell Inspiron 15 5567 - partitions

The partitions are not empty.  A GPT drive can hold around 256 partitions, so don't worry about the number.  There is even one you can't see.  They are there to allow for a full recovery if something were to corrupt your current install.  Even a Microsoft Update, which is coming on Oct. 17th, can cause such problems.
Before you start messing with Linux, it would be a really good idea to create a System Image backup or at least a Win 10 Recovery drive.  This type of backup can restore your system even if the drive completely fails.
Do the research about your Linux install.  If you do it incorrectly, you may loose your Win 10 boot.  Or if it does work and you decide to remove Linux, you may have problems.

Hello,
I just bought this laptop a couple of weeks ago and today was the first time I tried to have a skype call, unfortunately without success. My microphone didn't seem to be working properly so I checked with the voice recorder too, plus the sound devices manager (no green lines showing when I speak) and even though it mentions that the device is working properly, in fact it's not. I reinstalled the drivers from the dell 5567 support site, using both available links but nothing seems to be working. I plugged in a head-set with an installed microphone and when I plug it in, I get a pop-up window asking me to indicate what kind of device I just plugged-in. If I chose microphone, then I can hear my voice if I speak through the headphones but not the microphone, which doesn't look very normal either.
Any help? :/
Many thanks in advance!

I have a problem connecting multiple monitors on my Inspiron 5567.
I have both the Intel HD graphics 620 and the AMD Radeon R7 M440.
At 1 work location I can use my laptop display and 2 external monitors with no problem. At another work location I can only use my laptop display and either 1 of 2 (bot not both at the same time) external monitors.
Work 1: Monitor 1: I use an HDMI to DVI adapter and Monitor 1 works great. Monitor 2: I use a VicTsing USB to VGA Converter (with its own video card, which uses the latest Fresco Logic driver) and it works great.
Work 2: Here's the problem. Both monitors have VGA only, so I use a Rankie Active HDMI to VGA Adapter Converter for Monitor 1 and that works great. I connect the same VicTsing USB to VGA Converter as above and Monitor 2 displays, but Monitor 1 cuts out and the power light on Monitor 1 just flashes - the monitor seems to detect that something is connected, but can't display anything. As soon as I disconnect the USB to VGA Converter, Monitor 1 works again.
What is going on here?

No -- this system is not equipped with a pressure-sensitive digitizer. It's a touchscreen model.
If you want a digitizing 15" system, there aren't many out there - Lenovo has a couple of 15" systems that are true tablets.  Figure on well north of $1,000- probably nearer or over $1,500 -- for a 15" system with true tablet functionality. It's not what you'll find on a budget Insprion 5567.

I am trying to figure out how to resolve a problem with my new Inspiron 5567. The screen had a yellow cast, which I corrected using the windows calibration tools, so now white is actually white. However, when I play games in their native form the yellow cast returns. If I switch over to windowed mode, it disappears and colors in the game look normal. If I exit window mode and return to native mode the yellow cast returns. This happens in games running using both the processor GPU and the R7 M445 GPU.
I uninstalled the truevision application thinking that might be the issue, but that had no effect.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can get the calibration to apply to the monitor no matter what application is being used (windowed or not)?

One other thing which was a bit odd. If I rerun the calibration program, the color cast is apparent on the screen at the starting point of the process.

I've just got a new 5567. As mentioned in other threads I do have the stiff jack issue but is fine once you get the knack. I had originally Disabled Waves MaxxAudioPro to reduce what was running but Enabled it again which means I get a pop up screen when I plug something in asking if it is say mic OR headphones. I have an external splitter lead which claims to handle both mic AND headphones. Is this feasible on this machine? Way round is a USB audio device.
For me the reason this is crucial is at my church. My old laptop had 2 jacks In and Out. We could say play a backing track which goes OUT to a mixer desk and then comes back In with vocals added for recording. Any other ideas?

A:Inspiron 5567 Combo Audio Jack

andrewdeacon51I get a pop up screen when I plug something in asking if it is say mic OR headphones
There is no option to select "headset"?
In addition to the popup, open the Windows Sound dialog, on the recording tab, and make sure that "microphone" is enabled and selected as the default device.

andrewdeacon51I have an external splitter lead which claims to handle both mic AND headphones.
The splitter is supposed to work that way, but very often the mic part of them won't work. It could be because laptop audio ports sense the presence of a microphone by its impedance, and the adapter could be interfering with that process.
andrewdeacon51Way round is a USB audio device.
A usb interface or audio jack would be a good workaround, because then you eliminate bothl the problem with the Realtek/Waves popup, and the problem of using an adapter with the combo jack.
andrewdeacon51For me the reason this is crucial is at my church. My old laptop had 2 jacks In and Out. We could say play a backing track which goes OUT to a mixer desk and then comes back In with vocals added for recording. Any other ideas?
That setup in combination with a combo jack is less than ideal. Even if you get the microphone function of the combo jack to work, it is still just a mic jack and would produce a mono recording. On your old laptop, the audio input jack might have doubled as a mic jack and a line-in jack. Most of the Dell laptops used to have that feature. Modern laptops no longer... Read more

I got a brand new Inspiron 5567 (i7-7500, 8GB RAM) which I thought would handle music production like a breeze but I was shocked that the laptop is having issues with that.
Basically when I'm working on the music I hear pops and clicks (which usually happen when the buffer size is low for less latency) but the buffer size I'm using proved to be irrelevant to the pops and clicks.
I tried disabling the wifi adapter, changing throttling settings in BIOS, deep uninstalling antivirus software, I even fresh installed Windows 10 again and I still get the same problem. Mind you, the music software I'm using is the lightest ever (only 40MB).
The problem is definitely rooted in the PC itself. I downloaded Latency Monitor which measures the computer's ability to handle audio and the results are always way higher than the norm making it conclude that the machine is not suitable for music production!
Also, I tried with an audio interface (M-Audio 2x2) and without (using only built-in audio), same same.
Anybody has insights to what might be causing this or should I just give up and sell it?

I checked the drivers via device manager but still unable to reach any solution.
When i plug in the headphone jack, i can listen to the audio via headphones only.
My OS is Win 10 64bit.
In addition, the dell dell support page shows quite a few drivers available even after updating the latest ones via windows update
Looking for your suggestions.

Thanks
